Politics › Re: Obasanjo’s Coalition For Nigeria Movement Launches In Ondo by surgical: 4:34pm On Feb 02, 2018 |
plaetton: I have mixed feelings about OBJ.
I admire him in many ways. I also loathe him in many other ways.
Obasanjo is the most ungrateful leader I have seen in my life. In most countries, OBJ would be loathed as a man with zero values and zero integrity.
Obasanjo rode to power on the back of the PDP, a party he neither formed nor contributed financially to its organization. Yet, he became the primary beneficiary of the PDP.
He contested and won 2 consecutive presidential elections under the banner of the PDP. He enjoyed and basked in presidential power for 8 solid years under the protective umbrella of the PDP.
In fact, like a typical African leader, he quickly got intoxicated with the trappings of presidential power, and even tried to bribe his way to a constitutional amendment that would allow him to extend his tenure beyond two terms.
To fund his ambitions, there is no doubts in everyone's mind that OBJ looted the national treasury left right and center. There are witnesses and evidence to that fact.
It is also a very well known fact that OBJ went into the presidency very poor and came out stupendously wealthy.
Talk about corruption! undecided
Like the proverbial bird that challenges his god after overfeeding, OBJ was not only the first to ditch the PDP after his tenure, but worked assiduously to defeat the PDP during the 2015 presidential elections.
OBJ knew very well in advance that Buhari was going to roll Nigeria backwards. He knew in advance of Buhari's tribalistic and nepotistic tendencies. He knew in advance that Buhari was a very weak , aloof and clueless excuse for a leader who had no love, no passion for the plurality of the people of Nigeria. Yet, in his typical vindictive fashion, just to get his pound of flesh from GEJ, whom he thought had slighted him, he encouraged the enthronement and rebalkanization of Nigeria by a person who had once committed treason against Nigeria.
Today, once gain, he is trying to scuttle the dreams and aspirations of the Nigerian people who are too eager to oust the plague of Buhari and the APC.
Obasanjo is nothing but a backbiter, a Janus Face that deserves nothing but loathing and Odium from the people of Nigeria. Na your papa born you you are so on point. |

Honestly, this new toll gate increment if just the final straw man The day the non Indigenes in Lagos decide to come out emass during governorship elections in Lagos , that will be the end of APC in Lagos,it is only in Lagos that one party had ruled for straight 20years because the people are docile, democracy is about competition, competition brings out the best in people. with the one way politics in Lagos, you can only get average performance, no incentive to go extra mile. by the owners of Lagos. |

The best thing to do, is to ignore the 2019 election and allow the Yorubas and Hausa Fulani people slug it out while we watch at the sideline. That will be a dumb thing to do,because the consequence of the outcome will affect everybody irrespective of the tribe, beside its Jonathan that betrayed the yorubas after helping him to power, through doctrine of necessity and in the election proper ,even Jonathan have reconciled with obj, those using this line wants to divide the south to favour buhari, it is divide and rule and the north is very adept in that , but we will all have a task to jointly send buhari back to daura, after that the yorubas and Igbos can resume their hostilities, but now there is task at hand that must be done. |

I knew he had nothing to offer, which was why some of us have been drawing attention of the gullible to the disaster that will follow.
A man that failed as military head of state, failed as head of the PTF, has no evidence of having been educated, has never improved himself since being overthrown in 1985, has never attended any international conference since 1985, has never delivered a paper at any gathering, has never managed a successful business...you suddenly plucked such a fellow from nowhere to come rule a country in this 21st century? I think Nigerians are the problem here. That is putting the blame squarely where it belongs, what Nigerians are experiencing is self inflicted, with the benefit of hindsight they would have avoided this, thanks to democracy that allows for periodic renewal of mandates, another opportunity present it self in 2019 for Nigerians to redeem themselves, we just hope it will be well utilized. |
