My friend who relocated to Sunderland 6 months ago analysed to me that Japa to UK is still better than Nigeria. That He saves 500 pounds monthly after bills ( which is about 500k naira) compared to me doing white collar job and earning 300k naira salary in Nigeria. He does minimum wage job in Sunderland @10 pounds per hour and on dependent visa while his wife is on student visa.

I don't know if he is lying that he saves 500 pounds monthly cause that looks good while doing menial jobs in Sunderland. Compared to white collar job in Lagos that pays 300k for the whole month. My brain has been curious if he is saying the truth or not.

If your arguments were to be valid that fct is regarded as a state without a special status in the elections the drafters of the constitution would have stopped at 25% in each of the 2/3 of the states of the federation without including abuja, so if someone scored 25% in 23 states and abuja, your argument would have been valid that abuja is regarded as a state it should be added to make it 24,even though not listed in the constitution as a state, but it is specifically stated in whatever state you score 25% you must do all you can to score 25% in abuja

This story is very nebulous and cloudy.
Without sounding too cynical,the incurable optimist I'm,this report is missing a lot of details.
What concerns a fintech with capturing data on a set back,or does set back have another meaning ni.
I saw something about using drones to capture data,another statement on generating more IGR on set backs, seriously this is very very confusing.
If the report was limited to the fintech beautifing the setback in Lagos state,it would have been a wonderful report,but generating IGR,now that's a red flag.
A set back is basically the space between where the road is located and where you should site your property,it's usually 5m as required by the Law,now my confusion,is the government trying to encourage people to start building commercial properties on the setback or want to start taxing all those little kiosks especially the many make shift mobile operators who dot all the open spaces in Lagos.
I really hope this is not another backyard tax the Lagos State government is trying to introduce with this agreement it just signed.
Like I said I'm an incurable optimist not a critic.

it is actually a tax,they are looking for a way to increase their IGR, that is the only information they release, how it is utilised is very opaque, they generate so much and deliver so little, in other climes where the government generates so much ,the tax is plowed back to the welfare of the people but here the politicians loot it to become big men and then oppress the people and people will hail them and bow before them,and do their bidding, that is what happens here

Some youths don't just have sense. A formidable opponent in PDP devided into 3 against incumbent APC, and some people still expect them to lose with all their strong structure across the federation. If not for Buhari bad governance and die miniute stupid fuel and cash scarcity, APC would've defeated them with more than 5 millions votes.

To me, APC actually lost the election by wide margin if you compare their 8m votes and 14m votes of former PDP guys Obi, Kwankwaso as well as Atiku of PDP.

With the kind of administration apc ran in the last eight years coupled with the type of presidential and vice presidential candidates that party fielded in the election no sane Nigerian will vote them except direct beneficiaries like political appointees, and their family members which numbers are not significant to win election

The FCT has no special status so says the SC! Do know that any ruling by the SC is a law on its own, meaning the SC can make and amend laws as it wishes.

As it is, the ruling hasn't changed and the status quo remains. The last ruling says the FCT should be treated like a state. Case closed!

like in America fct is our electoral college, it has a special status when it comes to elections

Even if SC sides with Tinubu,as it usually does for any sitting president,no matter the merit of any electoral case against the incumbent,by twisting and interpreting the FCT 25% issue in his favour,commonsense should tell anyone that the framers of the 25% FCT requirement meant for it that the FCT be treated as a separate,distinct entity,representing the unity and diversity of Nigeria where all Nigerians of all tribes,religious and cultural affiliations reside,unlike states.
So what the framers had in mind is that a president so declared must be able to appeal to a percentage of that diversity that the FCT represents,that is why they left it at that low percentage minimum of just 25%.
You just have to use commonsense to know what those that drafted the constitution wanted.Interpreting it otherwise is just being mischievous or politically correct for the president declared.
