please if sheffield did not call the Host in the UK does that signify refusal ? cos the Host said he got no call from the embassy and the application has been concluded. They don’t have to call the host, it’s not mandatory, I guess they call randomly, if they aren’t satisfied with something in the application, if they need to reconfirm or verify certain information. people have gotten visas without the eco calling their host and people have also been refused visas after the eco must have called up their host. Just hope for the best! |

cameroncucumber: Pls gurus in the house, help me with the right information... My fbk friend has invited me to visit her. She said I should apply for 2 weeks holiday visa.... I am 29 & currently unemployed , she will fund the travel expenses & will be staying in her place. What document do we need to apply for visa? Pls it is urgent, we just finished video call & she said I should make enquiries & get back to her. Help a brother, justwise,Giselle237,BizBloke, suuz etc To be honest, you’ll be wasting money if you apply, first of all, 1) if you were a salary earner, I would have said you go as a tourist without mentioning the friend you have over there because they won’t consider any “internet friendship” , she can only be seen as your friend if you’ve met in person. (This is just My opinion). 2) You don’t have a job/business to come back to after your holiday so they’ll see you as someone who won’t come back once granted the visa. My first application was refused because I didn’t submit any evidence of having a job. I wish I could give you a positive response but I am just telling you as it is. |

buddie: The guru like giselle237 BizBloke and others, see what i have updated it to below.I however still need some clarification
Depart Lagos Nov 24th arrive UK 25th (Overnight flight) Depart UK Dec 1st arrive Lagos 2nd Dec (Overnight flight)
How many days of visit in this case as applicable in the UK application process?
Below is the breakdown for my 8days visit (All cost in pounds) Flight – 495 Hotel – 250 (estimated) Feeding – 150 Sight-seeing - 80 Intra-city transport – 50 Shopping - 100 Miscellaneous – 30
Total 1,200 pounds budget It’s 7days trip and your budget is waaaaayyyy too much for 7days. Put it like this; Flight- £480 Feeding- £100 Sight seeing - £50(there are a lot of free tourist places where you don’t have to buy a ticket, so look into it.) Transport- £80 Miscellaneous- £30 Accommodation- £80 (use a hostel, so search for a cheap hostel close to places you’ll be going sight seeing, so your transportation won’t be expensive.)You should get a hostel for this amount for a 7days visit. Shopping- £20 (It’s not a must you shop, even if you want to shop, it can be shopping for chocolates, this amount is more than enough for chocolates. So your flight(return) would be £480, Living expenses would be £360 If you add both, the total cost of your trip would be £840. Your transportation is higher if you consider transportation from heathrow to your hostel on the day you arrive and your transportation from your hostel to heathrow on the day you leave. Remember you won’t be going sight seeing the day you arrive the uk and the day you leave, your sight seeing days are 5days if you remove the day you arrive and the day you leave, so your budget shouldn’t be crazy. *This is just my opinion.* |

justwise: I'm going to ban BS out of everyone of you coming up with these wacky dubious ideas.
When you do change of name what happens to the biometric you submitted both during passport and visa application? As you can see justwise, I did write and state that it wasn’t the right thing to do, so I don’t understand why you called me dubious. Don’t ban me, I didn’t mean to sound dubious in any way. |

kenseT: @giselle237 Truth be told,if it wld be a temporary ban( even up to10yrs),I really do not mind but if na to seize my passport,Ha! I go get problem o You should have done a formal change of name when you were about to start using your real name, a change of name from your “agent given name” to your real name, it’s still not the right thing to do but you would have been covered. I don’t know about the date of birth part. |

rman: Three months for you to get the visa. Will those that were rejected have to wait for 3 months too?
Is delay to return passport a good sign that the visa will be issued? That was in 2017, I don’t know if it’s still thesame now and I don’t think it has anything to do with getting the visa or refusal, it just depends on the eco that my application was assigned to. During summer like this, na holiday dey most of them brain. Although during that time in 2017, most of the people who got theirs early and were first time applicant were refused and the first time applicants that got theirs late were given visas. (Just my opinion) |

pajabs: Good day house. Please @justwise and other gurus in the house. . Please response to this is needed urgently. Thank you. Please when applying for another Uk visa after two rejection.Must one write a cover letter explaining both rejection or just for the last rejection?Or just stating in the box provided that one has been previously rejected and stating just the reasons for rejection. Please answer needed urgently. Thank you You can address it in your cover letter like this Sub header- With regards to the previous visit visa refusals. In the year 2017, You were refused a visit visa because of this this that and You were also refused a visit visa in the year 2018 because of this this that. Just make it short and more explanatory, no long story. No matter how you write it, try not to make it seem like the ecos who refused you don’t know their job. |

bukard64: Hi,
Good day house, I don’t really know how to use this platform so please help me if you can.
I applied for a UK fiancé visa (Priority Service) and submitted documents online, then had my biometrics on the 1st of August, 2019. They said I’ll have a decision in 30 days which has already elapsed and my fiancée have already called them still no positive response. Today I received an email saying a decision has been made on my application on the 3rd of September but I still haven’t gotten a notification that the application is ready to collect. Today is 19th of September and I still don’t have my passport.
Have anyone experienced this or know what’s going on? or have they lost my passport? I’m so confused and frustrated rightnow A lot of people have been experiencing delays, it’s not just you, you have to wait it out. When I applied for my first visa, it took 3months for the application to be processed and for me to get my passport back. |

pufframmy: PLease do i need to go with any passport photograph?? my appointment is monday No you don’t need to go with a passport photograph, all you need is 1)your international passport and a photocopy of the data page of your international passport. 2) Make sure to print out your application form (all pages) if you did self service, an example of the checklist are the categories where you uploaded different supporting documents to, for example; financial evidence, employment evidence, study evidence, accommodation, family status, sponsor evidence, others, etc. that’s what the checklist is all about. |
Travel › Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 4 by Suuz: 11:40pm On Sep 18, 2019 |
pufframmy: am using self Service wish i am done with the uploading of my document what do u suggest now do we have different checklist for tourim and visitor visa applicant?
? Tourism and visitor visa are the same thing, I don’t know how self service works but when I did mine, I also couldn’t download the check list too due to issues with their platform so they gave me another checklist at tls but mine was assisted service... maybe you should print out that page where it says you can’t download the checklist and take it to tls because tls themselves know that there’s an issue with downloading the checklist. |
Travel › Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 4 by Suuz: 9:13pm On Sep 18, 2019 |
pufframmy: i did and this is the picture below that it was showing me @pufframmy, you don’t need the checklist, go to tls with a print out of your application, they will give you another check list after scanning your document. |

Adex2066: Yes, I should have written a cover letter about my additional income. I guess we live and learn.
It took about 19 days to get a decision from them. Okay, whenever you want to reapply, I will still advise you upload the refusal letter so that the gurus here can help you step by step on how to write the cover letter and tackle all that was in the refusal letter. |
Travel › Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 4 by Suuz: 3:39pm On Sep 17, 2019 |
Adex2066: No I didn't write a cover letter. But I included a note about it on the form. Next time, write a cover letter that fully explains the funds in your account, it does help. How long did it take for you to get a decision? I mean when did you go for your biometrics and when did you get the message that your application has been assessed? |
Travel › Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 4 by Suuz: 2:05pm On Sep 17, 2019 |
Adex2066: I tried to upload, for some reason, I couldn't. That was why I typed out the part that contained the reason for refusal. I got a letter of refusal through DHL along with my passport. Okay, did you write a cover letter to explain the 200k+ to them? Your budget of 1m for 7days trip is a bit much, let’s say flight 220k, living expenses 100k for 7days sounds more realistic. That’s 320k which would have been a little bit above twice your monthly disposable income(just my opinion). Anyway, Just wait a little bit and the experts on this forum would give you a reply that would be much more helpful. |

Adex2066: Hello guys. I was just refused a uk visit visa. During my application, I had over 6 million in my account. My salary is 300k each month, plus I have additional income of around 200k+ every month as well, which I stated during the application. But it seems that they didn't take account of my additional income. What did I do wrong and what can I do to correct it. Any response/help will be greatly appreciated. Thank you
" You have declared that you are employed and state that you earn 300,000 NGN (£672.05 Converted on Oanda.com, 05/09/2019) per month. You state that you spend 160,00 NGN (£358.43) per month on living costs. You state that your trip to the UK will cost 1,000,000.00 NGN (£2,240.17) which equates to over 7 months disposable income on a 7 days trip. Your proposed expenditure of your visit casts doubt on your intentions to visit the UK. "
@justwise I think you need to upload the actual refusal letter and blur out your personal details so that the experts here can help you out better. By the way, when did you do your biometrics and did they send the refusal to you via email? |

cuttiee: Someone just told me that docs that are either longer or shorter than the A4 size during scanning and uploading at the visa office will be rejected so I need to make copies of those docs to ensure it’s A4 size.
Please house, how genuine is the above point and can you guide on the process and what is expected.
Thanks It’s true, you have to make copies of all documents that are not in A4 size. |

justwise: 1.How many times do you plan to visit the UK in the 5 years?
2. Can you afford to make frequent travel to the ? This could be once or twice a year
You can get 5 years if you convince the ECO that you need to travel to the UK often in the next 6 years Hello Justwise, thanks for your response. 1) I plan to visit the uk once a year. 2) Yes, I can afford to travel once a year because my job won’t let me travel more than once and I’ve also got a good paying job. |

Justblow: 1. Where is your child's father currently leaving?
2. When did your six months expired and how many trips did you make on it? 3. How old is your child? 1) He’s in the UK, my child would also be spending time with his dad but he’ll be meeting his father’s family for the first time. 2) Six months expired a little over a year ago and I used it only once. 3) He’s 2years old. |
