Sorry for long post. I was banned for 10years, never tot of getting UK visa, though I visited other countries within those years. Few yrs after ban expired I gave a trial to apply, I had completed the application thinking I was perfect, fortunately I bumped into this thread and realising my errors which I adjusted after payment hitch. I took few days reading all the pages and learnt alot. I did self service.
I was denied based on several reasons, I was furious and felt not destined to enter UK. One of the wkends i picked all d reasons for denial and countered all. Guess what, I was denied again based on 4 other reasons. I felt even if dey no wan gv visa, I must prove myself right. I highlighted their points, illustrated on all my evidences with pen and sent since I am legit. They did their verification contacting bank etc and visa overturned.
Passport submitted and took 17days to call for pick up which shouldn't have taken max 5days.God's time is d best. Joining this forum is a great privilege, it has given hopes, saved money and lifetime opportunities. I appreciate everyone that contributed to my enquiries positively, @seeyat,one of the selfless, humble and patient soul I ever met, @techspot thx a bunch, @suuz,I appreciate you sis, @giselle such a nice soul.
Biometrics day was in Nov last year.
Visa stamped.
Congrats sis! You are a strong fighter that never gave up! Make this corona virus come dey go, make you fit flex your visa.

How can I Cancelled appointment for 19th on my UK family visit
Don’t cancel your appointment, you aren’t really a tourist, “you are going to visit your family. As long as the border is still open, you are free to go visit your family.

By the way, anyone going on tourism should just cancel it because this isn’t the time to be socializing.

This must be a renewal, right.
Yes but the last time she applied which was her first time was in 2012, she even stayed 5 months then instead of the two months she put in her application, since then she didn’t try applying.

Hello everyone, My mom applied for a uk standard visa(2years) on the 24th of February, she picked up her passport today and she was granted the visa. My brother is her sponsor, she’ll also be staying in the UK for 3 Months.
I also did self upload for her.

Here’s a list of the document she used:

1) her statement of account( proof of address)
2) Sponsor’s invitation letter
3) Sponsor’s utility bill
4) Sponsor’s mortgage document
5) Sponsor’s bank statement
6) Sponsor’s employment letter/pay slips
7)Sponsor’s British passport data page

I wish everyone who is still waiting for a decision best of luck!

The husband needs to move to the UK first to get a job that pays at least £18,600 gross or have savings of £16000
Thank you, what if the husband has the 16,000 Pounds savings now, does he still need to go back to the uk and wait for 6 months before applying for her?

He cannot take his wife with him just like that... But she can apply for a Visit Visa... If he does not have the saving, then the only other option is to go to the UK and get a job or start a business and then meet the Minimum Financial Requirement; this can be wages/salary/income combined with savings... But he will have to be in the UK for at least 6 months.

If the wife should be lucky to get a Visit Visa, she will still have to come back to Nigeria to apply for a Spousal (Settlement Visa). There is no back door to the UK Immigration System - even Meghan Markle has to follow the law. All the information is freely available on the government website /gov; you do not need hearsay from online forums. You can get help and advice but the info is there for you
Your explanation was going well until you typed “There is no back door to the Uk immigration system- even Meghan Markle has to follow the law”. Following back door means trying to cheat the system, NOBODOY is trying to cheat the system, I only asked if the 65,000 Pounds savings was the only option available to them or if there was any other option based off people’s experiences here. Anyway, thanks for your advise and next time, try to reply without coming off rude.

Good day to all the gurus in the house, I have a question to ask and I’ll appreciate if someone can shed more light, thank you.

My sister’s husband is a British citizen, they both live and work in Nigeria at the moment but the husband is planning to relocate back to the UK, He wants to take his wife along but all they’ve seen online is he must have a savings of 65,000 Pounds in his account which he obviously doesn’t have such.

Please is there any other way of going about this? He also owns a house in the UK, thanks.

Can you explaine how you proved pls.....I'm just an undergraduate that loves traveling during breaks,
Plus uk visa gives access to other countries too
Mine was easy because my son is British, baby daddy is British, My son’s paternal family all live in the uk, I have to take him to go visit his father, grandparents and also for medical so I have a solid reason to always travel to the United Kingdom. If you have family members in the uk, you can say you would love to visit them twice a year but if you don’t have anyone in the uk, I really don’t know how that works.

Calm down a step after the other, there’s a reason they listed 6months 2years 5years 10years. Even though you apply for for 5yrs after your 6months, they can still give you another 6months or 2years trust me they won’t give you 5years. Don’t be a SKIPPO apply for another 6months or 2years
I was given a 5years visa after a 6months visa. If he can prove that he’ll be traveling frequently, he’ll be given.

Is it not this same forum that has been hijacked by a group of caucus? To the extent that if you don't mention them, they won't respond to your concerns. What they do is selective responses, they choose what to and what not to respond to. Read the thread and see so many questions unattended to. When people that asked such questions apply for visa and are denied, someone like you who might have gotten visa by chance will come and shout that don't/didn't read the thread. That your visa was approved doesn't make you a better person than anyone else. Congrats on your visa all the same. So many wrong things to be addressed on this thread.
Most times, people don’t respond to certain questions if they are not mentioned because they don’t want issues, if you read like 10 pages back, you would see how a lady took it upon herself to insult me after I politely answered her questions but since my answer wasn’t what she wanted to hear, she started arguing with me and went as far as saying she didn’t ask me in the first place, because of that scenario, I have stopped responding to anyone’s questions, I just read and move along because I don’t want issues. In other words, people rather respond to questions directed at them because they don’t want issues, if they also think the question has been responded to over and over again previously and people are just too busy to respond to every question most of the time.

Bros Pls calm down, that quoted part is an assumption, but suuz is making it sound as if it must be a different ECO whereas it could be either, that is d reason why I gave him that instance you quoted. You guys are too quick to pass insults indirectly. Calm down pls
Juliansamuel! Stop using me as an excuse, I didn’t insist it was a different eco,I only said it must have been sent to another eco, hence the delay. I only insisted that the application was treated individually despite the fact that you think it was scanned together, meaning the child’s application is being worked on separately from his dad, now let this issue rest, since you know the answer to your question, all is well now.

Confusion everywhere.

Moving away from this.
A friend applied for a visitor visa earlier this month and intends to travel in December. Will the ECO issue a six months visa starting from when he finishes reviewing the application or the period when the travel is to occur?

Also, are there any implications if the person defers the trip to February after getting the visa?

I got a tier 2 visa and we are expected to travel within 30 days. Does the expectation to travel within 30days also apply to visitor visa?
My visa start date is from the month I indicated which is over 2months from my application date.

There’s no implication if he changes his travel date, plans change.

I don’t know anything about tier 2 visa.

Hello everyone, I have a valid uk visa and I intend on going to France first before going to the uk, so this is my question, should my flight booking be France - Uk or France - Uk -Nigeria?
TravelRe: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 4 by Suuz:

You asked a question and you are arguing, if you read part 1 to 4, didn’t you see where a parent’s passport was out weeks before the child’s passport? or didn’t you see when the parents were given and child refused despite the child using his parent’s documentation?
Please don’t ask questions that you aren’t ready to accept the answer. EVERY child uses his parent’s documentation during visa application but the application is always treated separately.

P.S- The dad’s document doesn’t totally determine the child’s fate, the child also has his own documentation like his school admission letter, school fees receipt, letter from the child’s school, birth certificate, consent letter from the mother if the child is traveling with his father only. If any of these vital document isn’t part of the child’s application, the child will be refused. If you knew the answer to your question, why come on Nairaland to ask in the first place.

Juliansamuel:
That's not true sir. It's father and child and their documents were scanned together, the child is still a minor with just birth certificate and school fees receipt, how is now possible for it to be treated by different eco
Were the passports packaged together? NO!
I’m sure it wasn’t so the application has been done individually. Read up this thread to get more enlightened.

1. During this period, I am expected to be on industrial training. Though I have submitted a request for letter of introduction to my Registrar since October 9th, they are taking a long time to process it.

Can I apply without a letter of introduction but I intend to submit my
1. Admission letter
2. School Fees receipt
3. Course form
4. Some receipts to prove that I am still student.

2. The uncle I am talking about is my mother's sister husband. Do I need to attach a marriage certificate.
You need a letter from your school
Your aunt’s husband isn’t your uncle, why can’t your aunt invite you?

Pls house, I still wanna ask. Why is it that when a family of like 2 or 3 apply especially family with kids sometimes their passports don't come out d same time? mind you, they did walk in, meaning they did biometrics same time.
That’s because each application was treated individually and not as a family, therefore, each application went to different eco and each eco has his own pace of working, hence the difference in decision making time.
