If it has heavy weapons but no infantry its an AFV (Generic Armored Fighting Vehicle), light tank, or Tank, as with the case of the terminator. The idea that all armored vehicles are tanks is a ridiculous assumption to make, honestly.

IFV's are more like APCS, but the difference is they are designed to both carry infantries into battlefields (like APC) and also provide support with their cannon.

For the BMNT terminator. I'm not sure what category to place that. It's a modernized MBT, designed for urban warfare, not fit carrying troops. It's like you don't even understand me.
IFV like APCS, have alot of space in them to accommodate troops. But unlike APC, they have cannons to support troops in combat.

BTR 80's are IFV's not tanks.
There's a huge difference between a MBT and an IFV. Calling an IFV a tank is like calling a self propelled howitzer, or APC a tank, when there's clearly a huge difference between them and the capability and role they play in combat
