mrvitalis: You're going technical and I'll respond by saying Nobody is anybody without somebody. Did Wike force Amaechi (as a sitting governor) out of PDP or not? Was Amaechi able to install a successor as an outgoing governor? Did Wike trash Amaechi (as a sitting governor) and his candidate at the polls to emerge governor in 2015 or not? Did Wike rubbish Amaechi and APC at the court and trash his adopted Candidate (Lulu-Briggs of Accord party) at the polls in 2019 to win a second term or not? |

Exmilitant: It’s not a blame thing per se but more of an observation. Our narratives can be made to clearly define what we’re all about here as against presenting the stories like heroic exploits. |

I’ve been reading alot of comments about which frat is more brutal or rugged. I’ll tell you for free and without any fear of contradictions that ruggedity is personal and not a function of frat OT. I’ll share two random experiences of different events and leave you guys to draw conclusions. 1. A war broke out between SEC and NBM in a residential neighborhood (not a campus). It was more of mindless killings between family friends, childhood friends and neighbors. A peace talk was initiated and attended by heirachy of both frats. Concessions and compromises were reached and they all ‘broke Kola’, shared hot drinks and shook hands. After every, two birds who attended the meeting were on their way home when they sighted some NBM guys who were together with them earlier. They approached them with the itention to shake hands and continue on their way. The first guy to take the hand shake was grabbed at the wrist and belt and promptly dropped. The second one was able to escape and ran. He was pursued, caught and also surmarily executed. All these happened in broad daylight! The peace meeting was initiated by the Same guys doing the killing ostensibly to draw their opponents out of hiding. The two guys killed were no small fries. They were both experienced and battle tested elebes. Alas, All the ruggedity and otums didn’t save them when the grim ripper came calling. 2. A particular bird boy saw a dreaded axman he knew from his former school. Same guy was one of the reasons he had to run away and abandon his studies in that school. He called his Ibaka and reported the sighting. He was mandated to keep an on the prey and make sure he monitors all his doings. The axman suddenly received a phone call but he couldn’t hear the conversation. The elebe became agitated himself as he felt he might have been counter spotted too. He couldn’t wait for his guys anymore and felt he had to do something. You'll assume the logical thing to do was for him to leave the place as he’s your average cool headed, happy go lucky guy. Instead, he didn’t know what came over him but he picked a huge stone and cracked the axman’s skull open right where he sat. He had to run from the second school and couldn’t return home as he his cover was blown and he was casted. Last I heard, He’s still on the run till now without any bearing as he can’t stay in a place for than 6-8 months. Note, that this incident happened about 10years ago. If you think it’s long enough for the incident to have been forgotten, refer to a post from a moniker many pages back about an incident at Unical that led to the death of the SUG vp. Immediately he posted, one or two axmen came crawling out of nowhere to ‘chook him voice’ and he deactivated immediately. I responded to one of the monikers and he also deactivated instantly. That incident happened about 8years ago or thereabouts. For those who think cultism is joke or something physical, this guy never killed anyone before this incident and he was the least person anyone will assume could pull a ‘hit’ even with a gun from afar. Lemme say at this point that what we refer to as ruggedity is actually a demonic possession that can happen in an instant or can be a dominant factor in a person’s existence. I’ve lived and rolled with all categories of cultist and I’ll say No one frat is superior to the other in ruggedity. It’ll be so hard to eradicate cultism as it were and even if it happens, the vacuum created will certainly be filled with some other type of violence inclined associations. Two incidents made me draw this conclusion. I remember sitting with a flying IBK one evening and a young buy of about 13/14 years came around. He stayed for a while, ran a few errands then left. My friend told me when he left that the boy has been pestering him to blend. But his conscience is holding him back from doing it because he feels for the boys mother. She has only twin sons (he’s a twin) and fries akara with no husband. She even invites him to help discipline them sometimes. The boy even steals her money to buy him hot drinks till he stopped him by not accepting them anymore. Second one happened at mafoluku/Ishodi in a place called agbole. A young boy of teen age was talking to his older cousin and complaining bitterly about how they always leave him behind when going for street to street turf wars. That he’s capable enough now but they don’t believe. Then he started talking about battle strategies in street fight lol. On further prompting, he gave vivid descriptions in full details. He said when they’re going out, he’ll have his pump action gun and position at the rear while the guys with bottles, cudgels, cutlasses and etc go in front. He went further to say pulling up at the rear was not cowardice but a strategy to give him room to map the pointman of their opponent without being hurt. As soon as he identifies him, he’ll ‘light’ him right away and make sure he hits him on the head or heart to kill him instantly or inflict maximum damage because the gun can only fire one at a time. Most if not all of his guys will have run for their own safety once their main man is down. All these he said in Yoruba which gives a more graphical illustration. As things stand now, it’s all man for himself. Keep your children and wards safe from bad or negative influences and hope for the best. #SayNoToCultism 66 Likes 3 Shares |

Like other commentators have said, let every man make his peace his own way. I wouldn’t drop the pen without advising everyone (readers and contributors alike) to be careful with comments here and responding to NL pms generally. It’s a clear sight to the blind and audible sound to the deaf that the sharks are gathering. Putting the level of misguided and disillusioned youth we have in our country roaming aimlessly about in perspective, when people say “for every bird you pluck I’ll hatch xyz number of eggs” or “for every man you drop I’ll blend xyz” and other similar senseless talks: they’re not telling lies or fables. Careless young blood plenty waiting to be used as tools in the hands of the devil. If you think I’m wrong, make efforts at finding out the bunch of kids between the ages of 8 - 13 referred to as “cry your cry”. You can find them in every slum across Nigeria. Some people are referencing general friendships among youths as a basis for zero cultism and cult activities in a particular area- are you not aware that wars have broken out in places like football fields, accommodation hostels (on and off K), bars, facaulty, department, lecture halls, banks, canteen, ATM, motor park and etc? You mostly never get to hear the end result of that tiny incident that started in your presence. Na the scores go count for everybody ear. I’ve always maintained the fact that you can be whatever you want (even a no-nonsense person that can’t be taken for a ride) without being a cultist and there’s no gain in cultisim. Some other persons have also called out this facts but not one of our weekly circus idiots have countered this claim directly or otherwise. Let me pause here... 8 Likes 2 Shares |

Cali47: Cali47 (Calabar 0147) Your moniker and incident of interest gives you away. I guess you’re still actively mapping ‘return leg’ over the incident. 2012 till date is 8 years. If this doesn’t open your eyes to the fact that you’re wasting away then nothing else can. Just remember to put your proverbial house in order before making any move as the same fire you’re stoking it’s embers might just consume even you too. Take your own advice and use your 6. 30 Likes 1 Share |

BakedCake: The gory tales serve a purpose of calling out succinctly (in black and white) the potential risk of dying horribly as a cultist irrespective of the outlook or public opinion about the frat. It also serves as a conduit or outlet to some repentant persons who feel that sharing their experiences will help get the weight off their chests and serve as a pointer to the first point I made. 7 Likes |

bigbananai: There is no mistake that can’t be corrected. Once you’re out of the confinement of school environment, repent genuinely, change you’re circle and avoid all old habits, friendships & acquaintances then there’s hope of coming through. I know a number of ex cultist who have mended their ways and made peace with God. They publicly speak to teens and youths on their past experiences with emphasis on the negative effects it had on their lives and those of people they know closely. It’s not until they take the risk of renouncing publicly in the same area they committed all such attrocities. There are many ways to skin a cat. 17 Likes 1 Share |
