Travel / Re: Is It Ok To Fly To Dubai Via Turkish Airline? by Sweetchilli(f): 4:38pm On Nov 14, 2020
wandeay:
I am planning on going to Dubai by December, and the cheapest economy rates of Emirates Airline are sold out.

From the alternative options available, I find Turkish airline to be my choicest, but I don't know if I will need extra documents e.g transit visa, ...

...as Turkish Airline would have a stop over in Turkey before heading to Dubai.

Please I need help and suggestions.
Thanks.

You don't need a transit Visa since you are not leaving the airport.
I flew Turkish airlines to Dubai last year and I regretted it. The layover hours from connecting between Istanbul to Dubai is usually very long and you'll be worn out by the time you arrive.

Generally, I love Turkish airlines but I don't think taking them to Dubai is your best bet.

This is my son here. He was speaking well enough ( Not very much like that but the few he knew was clear enough) when going to school. Suddenly, he's wants to say long statements in gibberish grin grin and thinks we are flowing together. I will just say Okay after his long talk and pretend i understand well lipsrsealed I had to look deep and I discovered its the cartoons. Since this Corona palava struck, he has spent almost all his time on cartoon either from the TV or from his Tab. So it really taking a toll on his communication skill coupled with the fact there are no kid his age around. He's 2 years, 9 months But he good thing is he's picking up new words and the is getting better by the day. So I don't think it's worth worrying about.

Thank you mummy for taking out time to respond. You just allayed my fear

Instead of you to just confess that you're the one that can't hear his Naija-British accent grin

Children pick up a lot of things and their brain is like computer, input and output.
As long as his speech has been clear for a long while, it's hard to relapse unless their is a medical condition, which is highly unlike in his case, he is just imitating the accent that he likes.

You can help him by insisting he speaks clearly.
Don't snap at him because he is doing nothing wrong. Just calmly tell him he needs to speak clearly and the few times he does speak well, applaud and encourage him.

Good luck

Thank you very much ma'am. I was really worried

Good evening sweet mummies. Hope everyone is fine?
I am concerned about my son. He is 2 years and 2 months old.
He started school at 1 year 4 months and by the time he was 1 year 6 months, he could make full sentences like mummy I'm hungry, I want ***, in short, he could communicate very well.

When he was 1 year and 8 months, we traveled and he mixed with his cousins who speak British accent. All of a sudden, I couldn't hear him again. His words sounded like he was blabbing. I told someone who said he was trying to pick the accent and he would "reset" when we get to Nigeria. He did pick up and we could hear him well in about 2 weeks.

Now, he is 2 years and 2 months and I think this thing is back. We haven't traveled, though he has always imitated the accents he hears in his cartoon. I can hardly hear him now. He can still identify colors and shapes and all other things he knows, but stringing words together sounds like he is blabbing. I don't know if it is the cartoon accent he is imitating. I am really worried.
Has anyone experienced this before?

Ma'am Zaynie please help with your wealth of experience.

Iyatrustee ,
Yes, you are to allot portions. Put each child's budget in their individual forms. Your own form should carry the total budget for the trip.

As much as you want to sugarcoat things, you are cheating!
Things doesn't necessarily have to get to s*x before it is considered as cheating. The fact that you flirt, use endearing names still qualifies as cheating.
I understand that you are probably bored because you don't see your wife as being innovative but staying out drinking till 1 am is just irresponsible.
There are so many cracks in this marriage. Your wife too shares part of the blame. A woman should know how to keep the fire burning but how do you even do that with a man who is never home?
Not many women would be the breadwinner for years and if she is doing that, the least you can do is to be appreciative.
You both need therapy and while you are at it, please get something doing. You will earn back your respect that way.

Health / Re: 49 New Cases Of COVID-19 Reported, Total 542, 166 discharged, 19 Deaths by Sweetchilli(f): 3:54am On Apr 19, 2020
The exponential growth is alarming. We are heading towards the peak. cry

The myopic people calling COVID-19 an audio virus are the reason for this spread. The government has done it's bit, ordered a lockdown but no, people won't stay at home or observe social distancing.

In the UK when the lockdown was announced, the trains in London were being filled to the brim, commuters defying the stay at home order. They have over 114,000 cases now.

In the US, there are over 739,000 cases with New York having almost 300,000 cases.
Lagos is more populated than New York. What does that tell us?
We recorded our first case in Nigeria just one month after them.

The real audio here is that we currently have way more than the 542 cases that have been confirmed because the tests are not performed at the way that they should.

Every comment about the virus being a hoax should be deleted by the spam bot. If learned people who have access to the internet can be talking about it being a hoax despite seeing people die, I wonder what is going on in villages.

Nigeria doesn't have enough healthcare facilities to take care of the sick. The government has failed us already, let's stop failing ourselves.
Stay safe everyone.

He sounds fine. Children grow at their own pace. I think socializing helps too.
My son started preschool at 16 months and he now makes full sentences at 22 months. You should also download nursery rhymes on your phone for him. He would start singing along with time. Don't rush him please.

You are calling for social distancing but attending meetings that could have been held over Skype. Social distancing indeed. I don't think Nigerians are ready for what is coming! In about 1 or 2 weeks, the real numbers would surface.
Stay at home! Is that so hard to do?

Well, most airlines have been enforcing the yellow card rule. Every traveller out of Nigeria is required to have the new yellow card if not, they won't be allowed to board. It is not about the UK alone.

Yes I can reapply from there. The real question is if I'm allowed to apply from a country I don't live in. I'm not sure if I'll be allowed. Any ideas?

She handed me the yellow slip that stated l was denied because of my ties.
Circa:

Before you consider applying from the UK, you should sit down and try and figure out why you were denied at the embassy today to begin with. It might not be about your income. I think your profile shows you are OK financially.

Why were you denied? We'll take it from here

Visa Transcript
Interview time 6.45 am.
There were 3 VO's in windows 1, 4 and 6.

VO: Good morning ma'am
ME: Good morning ma'am
VO: Where are you going in the US
ME: New Jersey
VO: How long
ME: 10 days
VO: Purpose of traveling
ME: To shop for my business in Nigeria. I sell Fashion items which I get from the UK, Turkey and Dubai and I travel every 6-8 weeks
VO: I see you didn't use your previous US Visa. Why is that?
ME: I got pregnant shortly after and I stayed back to birth and nurture my baby. (This was the real reason. I didn't do any traveling at all within the 2 years I had my visa)
VO:Are you married
ME: No but I'm engaged and have a son
VO: Do you have any other income?
ME: No
VO: sorry you do not qualify at this time.

I actually make about 2-3m monthly but I pay myself 350,000 as salary which is what I put in the application. Maybe I shouldn't have put 350k in the form

I just came back from the UK last night. Didn't even have enough sleep before rushing out for the interview. I planned to travel to the UK next and travel to the US from there to shop for my business.

Can I reapply from the UK?

Travel / Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 4 by Sweetchilli(f): 7:04pm On Jan 18, 2020
That's the thing. It is usually hard to find the same date and time for all members of the family. At least one person still has to pay. On TLS website, it is written that every member should pay.

Candybright:

Unless you needed to walk in as per urgent application, you can apply without paying for flexi, just book same day appointment for all family members and everyone goes in same time, your application will still be treated as family.
Travel / Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 4 by Sweetchilli(f): 12:52pm On Jan 18, 2020
Yes, Flexi appointment is 42k.

FameG:

Congrats. A quick question though. Is the 42k is a normal cost for the appointment?
Travel / Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 4 by Sweetchilli(f): 8:00pm On Jan 17, 2020
Hello all.
Received our passports today. Visa granted for my son and I.
Even though I didn't get response to my questions earlier, I'll like to give this information to help any family applying together. You all don't have to pay for flexi. I booked a normal appointment for myself and booked flexi for my son. That enabled him do walk in appointment and our applications were consolidated at the VAC. So I spent 42k instead of 84k it would have cost both of us.
