Education / Re: 8 Words We Pronounce Wrongly Everyday – Everyone Is Guilty Of No 5 by sweetcocoa(f): 8:26pm On Dec 13, 2016 |
Secondary school grammar. I pity people who had bad English teachers. Meanwhile, there's the American English and the UK version, nigeria claims to use the UK version but manage to sound somewhat American. 1 Like |

ernieboy:Well, I don't know if he paid family rites before now, I'm speaking based on the pictorial evidence before us. I don't think church wedding is what's valid before the law. Also, people can celebrate being together, you don't have to be married to have anniversaries. |
Events / Re: Nigerian Man Completes Wife's Marriage Rites After 27 Years Of Living Together by sweetcocoa(f): 7:56pm On Dec 13, 2016 |
ernieboy:So they can't celebrate the anniversary of being together? And since when is An English wedding the yardstick for being "officially" married? |

I get the feeling that said turtle will still be hunted by those boys. The level of ignorance/illiteracy in nigeria is frightening. |

If you asked me, I'd say this is just a waste of time and money. An anniversary celebration party would have been better. 2 Likes |

Culture / Re: Feminism: Operationally Contradictory? by sweetcocoa(f): 7:32pm On Dec 13, 2016 |
Timbuktuo:FYI, women are striving and breaking through even with all the misogyny, I'm not sure if the whole of the 1999 constitution was amended but I do know that, a large part of it was discriminatory against women, y'all talk like misogyny never even happened at all. The religions of your country are blawdy misogynistic, yet here you are asking me to prove something to you. It's true that the world is made some progress since the days of old, but then, culture's being passed down from generation to generation, so there's no way a new generation won't carry some part of the old with it. Fact remains, there was need for feminism, and more work is still needed because there's still some misogyny left in the world. |
