And I'm saying how do you exploit what doesn't exist in the first place? There's never been any worthwhile or meaningful economic activities in the SE hence endless migration of several generations of SE folks to the SW and the North for economic survival.

This migration didn't start today, it started since day one.

The SE is still economically depressed today and it's even worse since decades after decades, investors refused to invest in that region for obvious reasons like what's going with destruction of life, properties, businesses and trucks owned by the Dangote.

And before you come back with any more of your misguided business argument, make sure you're ready to give samples or name at least 5 worthy businesses in the entire east..
Once again, you fail to reason. You remind me of a nairalander called KoboJunkie, you both have similar argumentative patterns. I cannot keep on having this argument with you. Why are there so many banks in the south east if there is no economic activity there?

You are not making any sane and rational sense and I'll break it down for you to understand and digest.

1. If my economy is bad, terrible and I'm poor, what's their for you to exploit? Why leave the comfort of your own home just to go exploit people with nothing and that you are supposedly better than.

People all over the world including SE people migrate to places with better economic opportunities, places with more to offer than their own home.

You don't leave behind your own home, family, food, culture and way of life just to exploit poor people with nothing to offer you economically.

Yoruba people migrate across Yoruba land for obvious reasons starting from same history, language, culture and tradition, food, way of life, politics and political affiliation and so on.

Instead of asking me why Yoruba people migrate to Lagos, you should be asking yourself why SE people migrate to poor Osun, Ekiti, Oyo and Ogun state if those states have nothing to offer and why the same states don't migrate to SE if SE really have anything to offer the rest of Nigeria.
You're not reasoning with me.

Igbos are good in exploiting and coordinating economic activities for a profit. Given that the south east is home to Igbos, it is expected the economy of the east has already been exploited by the Igbos to the best of their ability. Igbos who can't compete in the east are forced to exploit economies in other areas.
They don't migrate because the eastern economy is bad but because it is saturated and excessively competitive.
PoliticsRe: Calling Niger Deltans "Ignorant And Helpless" Is The Height Of Cluelessness by Sweetguy25: 8:52pm On Dec 06, 2015
Ignorant - Not knowing, acknowledging and appreciating the level of damage and destruction the Nigerian state has done on the wealth and society of the Niger Delta minority tribes.

Helplessness: Not knowing where and how to effectively solicit help and support to stop the Nigerian state from further stealing the wealth of the Niger Delta minority tribes and the destruction of their environment.

Liar Liar, pants on Fire

Akinwunmi Ambode: 2015-
Babatunde Fashola: 2007-2015
Bola Tinubu: 1999-2007
Raji Rasaki: 1988-1991
Gbolahan Mudashiru: 1984-1986
Lateef Kayode Jakande: 1979-1983
Adekunle Lawal: 1975-1977
Mobolaji Johnson: 1967-1975
Mike Akhigbe 1986-1988 (I consider Etsakos one of our own)

And are you seriously asking e what Tinubu, Jakande and Fashola have done for lagos?
Your kinsmen are still in Lag till date fighting for residential spaces in Jakande estate and and a host of others.

When Eko Atlantic , Lekki Airport, Lekki FTZ, Badagry Seaport, Lekki Seaport, the Lagos rail system are complete, then you will know the real contributions of Fashola and Tinubu.
Let me break this down once and for all.

Lagos is what it is today because of various factors that do not concern Yorubas.

The huge volume of private sector investments that come to lagos is because of the availability of markets in Lagos.

1. Commercial market - High population of middle class with disposable income and spending power (most of them are not Yorubas)
2. Financial market: Stock exchange and other financial services firms are centered in Lagos (Not controlled by Yorubas)
3. Labor market: Availability of skilled labor (Majority of whom are not yorubas)
4. Infrastructure: The ports and other infrastructure that facilitate trade, commerce and industry (Infrastructure not built by Yorubas)

These markets exist because Lagos was one the a British protectorate and Federal Capital of Nigeria for a very long time.

The only things the Yoruba governors did was to build little infrastructure to support the dense population of lagos and further aid in the facilitation of trade, commerce and industry.

What the Yoruba governors built cannot be compared to what was built by the federal government and the British government.

I am not disputing that Fashola, Jakande and Tinubu did not put in good work. They did but Lagos was already made before they came.

Airport is in Ikeja, formerly Western region
Seaports are on Tin Can and Apapa, port of original Lagos Colony
A lot of offices are on VI/Lekki/Ikoyi. VI and Ikoyi are part of the lagos colony, most of Lekki is new.
Exchange and Offices are ADMINISTRATIVE.... production does not take place in them, but rather collation.

So, you could only mention Seaport, Airport and Stock exchange? lol
Dude, you just want to argue for argument sake.

Lagos has had only the following yoruba governors - Jakande, Tinubu and Fashola

What did they contribute to Lagos?

No you are slow.
and the strength of Lagos is in it's Industrial estates and hinterland periphery. Those areas you listed are mostly Offices and residences.
I can tell you that there aren't nearly as much Banks, Hotels, Companies etc in these areas, compared to the inland bulk of Lagos Metropolis.
That is why I'm asking you to tell me the exact areas where the bulk of all commercial, industrial and economic activities in Lagos is situated.

Where is the seaport located?
Where is the airport located?
Where is the stock exchange and the headquaters of all financial services firms located?

Yes they are the most developed areas.
But no, they are not the areas where Lagos's economic and Industrial strength is.
You are slow man.
- They are the most developed areas.
- Other investments were attracted to Lagos because of the development of these areas and the infrastructure situated in Lagos (developed by the British and the federal government).

Please can you tell me where the economic strength of Lagos is situated?

Yoruba folks not heading to the SE for survival has nothing to do with adventure, it's more about basic economics and realities on the ground.

What do you have on the ground for Yoruba people to head to in the SE? Please tell us.

And if there are, why are SE folks trooping out of SE to the SW and leaving these wonderful economic opportunities behind in their own so called comfortable region?

Why are they leaving their own better and comfortable environments just to hustle and slave in poor places in the SW..? Makes no sense...

You want SW/Yoruba folks including graduates to head to Onisha or Aba for what? To peddle wares, make shoes or be apprentices?

Are there serious companies, factories, industries, manufacturing plants, major hotels and so on in the SE for Yoruba people to migrate towards?

Again, makes no sense..
You keep mentioning south west as if it cuts across Lagos. Igbos naturally are economic adventurers, they migrate to exploit economic opportunities. We have been doing so before Lagos became what it is. We are just good at organizing and exploiting economic activity. Don' t Hate
Why are Igbos in Ondo state, there are Igbos everywhere around the world. Why single out ondo state. Is Ondo better than states in the western world?

Why do Yoruba's leave their own states (Oyo, Ekiti, Ondo et al) and migrate to Lagos? Why are they running away from their states?

Everybody migrates to Lagos for the economic opportunity it presents. Shikena

I am telling you that the only areas that enjoyed these privileges you keep talking about is The administrative quarters of VI, Ikoyi, Lagos Island and a small part of the mainland.
80% of Lagosians live outside these Zones.
Are these not the most developed areas of Lagos state till today and where all administrative and commercial/economic activities are centered?

What are you talking about?

Over 80% of what we know today as Lagos was not pampered by anybody and suffered just like the rest of Nigeria, maybe even worse... due to the massive population pressure from all over the country.

Alimosho, The largest LGA in Lagos is a typical example.
as well as a tonn of others.

Did you say 80 percent of Lagos? Bros why you dey lie? I don't have the time to dig in and provide facts for you but. . .
How many airports and seaports did any state governor create in Lagos.
