Politics › Re: Is Maryam Babangida Really Dead? by SweetT1: 5:44am On Nov 17, 2009 |
As a christian, it is extremely hard to forgive a man like Ibrahim Gbadamosi Babbangida. This man hurt millions of innocent men,women,children,old or young. I bet he thought he could rule forever. I wish this evil-minded man can read a forum like Nairaland and see what average Nigerians think of him, i claasify IBB worse than Mobutu Sese seko 'cause atleast Mobutu has paid for his crimes. Thinking of all the bad things and all the opportunity to make Nigeria great that IBB threw away, i'm closed to tears. This is the man that introduced 419 to our beloved country, there were crimes in Nigeria before IBB came but they were thousand-fold worse by the time he left Aso rock. He has too many people's blood in his hands. I wish IBB can see how average Nigerians feel about him but i'm afraid that people like him only hangs around Nigerians who tell them lies. Mariam, personally i wish you well but i'm sure that you know that "No evil shall go unpurnished". |

Fhemmmy: i thinnk u ave nail it in the head, it is about what is suspicious and what can be done to fix the loopholes . . . i am sure the govt wont wanna do anything to fix the loophole, cos they will be affected too. @Fhemmy Please stop talking about things you don't know anything about. What Sanusi is trying to do will curb some fraud in Nigeria, it is a well known prctise in the US. If you deposit an unsual amount of money in your bank account, the banks are mandated to notify the FBI. I deposited $17,000 one time in one lump some to my bank and the next time i went to withdraw, i couldn't! I was told by the bank that i needed to explain the source since it was unusual. I had to fill out many forms to declare the money. What Sanusi is simply saying is that if you are a politician and you start to put millions of Naira into your account without declaring the source, you are liable to be reported to EFCC for further explanations. But if you are a regular bank customer with a regular large deposits, you have nothing to fear. This will put some fears into 419, yahoo yahoo boys and politicians. |

Family › Re: Involving Extended Family In Decisions - Is It Right by SweetT1: 6:28pm On Nov 03, 2009 |
ima1: I see no reason why a married man will decide to involve his family in decisions that should be between him and his wife. I had an argument with my hubby, it all started when we went out shopping for a 2nd tv, since we both watch different shows on tv, after deciding what we needed we brought it back home and a few mins after we came home he went out came back in and the next thing i heard was, "my sister said we should have bought a cheaper tv stand" and i am like wtf, why should every decision we make involve your baby sister, (this is not the first, second, third or fourth time this has happened) last time it happened was on a decision that affected both of us, after talking and coming to a conclusion, he went to talk to his sister about it ( i don't have any issue with that) but his sister suggested an idea i was against and i had to explain to him that going that route will not work for both of us, he went back to his sister to talk again and she changed her mind, and this pissed me off because its supposed to be our decision not involving a third party, i mean watever decision he makes will affect me and him and not his sister or other family members. i never expressed my feelings at first until last night with the tv thing.
the next thing i am being accused of trying to drive a wedge between him and his sisters, and not wanting him to talk to his sister and it pissed me off the more because why in the world would i want that when i have 3 sisters and 2 brothers i talk to on a daily basis, the difference is that i do not involve my siblings in my marital decisions, it makes me wonder what else he has been talking to his sister about. for christ sake i married the man and not his entire family, i like my life private, i am ok with involving extended family but not in every freakin decision. i mean if his sister were in my shoes and her hubby goes to his family for every decision he wants to make, will she be happy with it. (Just to clarify i have no issues with his family, i try to mind my own business)
what do you guys think, am i over-reacting or do i have a valid reason to be pissed off. Again, i thought you kicked her out last year or year b/4 when she tried to ruin your marriage? Did you let his sister back in. And i thought your hubby was in medical school, what is he doing watching tv shows? |

@t chiogo: LOL you just proved me right. You bought your laptop after you got a job in a company? Dear, people here start owning laptops from high school or at least before going to college. What's college without a laptop? Homework assignments are mostly on there. The only reason a college student here won't own a laptop is maybe because s(he) is one of those freaks who never see the need for such stuff, they'd rather go to the library even at midnight to use the computers there.
You and I know very well that it's only teens whose parents are financially stable that own laptops in Nigeria. Or the ones into yahoo-yahoo.
Anywayz, this wasn't my aim in the first place. Was just explaining what the other poster meant to the honeric guy. I'm not trying to bash Nigeria or what not. I've lived there so I know. As for your other posts couldn't read the whole thing but anywayz, who are the so-called true Americans?? As far as I know, no one group owns America, that's why it's called the United States, true Americans my nyash!! Columbus stole it from the Indians, the whites used black, spanish, and many other ethnic groups to build the America we know today. Why do you think Indians get free education? Black, spanish, Asian, white, and other groups of people equally own America. so who cares? True Americans! LIMM. @tourmaline You are a clown! Nigeria is in a comatose. Nothing works in Nigeria, congratulations that you have a job but look at the ones you graduated with. I bet you graduated 4-5 years before landing a job. It is very sad when most Nigerians dont even realize how much trouble Nigeria is. The only thing Nigeria depends on is oil and the oil is being rubished by Nigeria's customers. US and other nations that buy oil from Nigeria are gradually shifting away from oil to alternative energy. Just yesterday alone i was reading in a Nigerian newspaper and they said oil revenue to Nigerian govt. fell by whopping %30! and that's for this year alone, %50 is projected for next year. I know of people that graduated for 7-8 years in Nigeria before landing a job. Nothing like being home but i would rather be in a place that allow me to grow than being a slave in my own father's land!! I wish Nigeria well but it will take a miracle for this 49 year old idiot to to wake and smell the coffee. Nigeria is not even relevant withing West Africa. |

@Dappssee
What dignifying job is in Nigeria? that must be a crude joke, i bet you work in a bank, dont you? A fast food worker in the US lives better than you guys. What kinda job is that when you leave your house from sunrise to sunset and still has little to show for it? glorified slaves. Nigeria is in deep trouble and it's sad the govt. dont even know it. The only thing Nigerian depend on as a source of revenue is becoming useless. Most of Nigeria's customers are now looking for alternative means of energy. The whole banking collapse in Nigeria was due to the crash in Oil prices. By december, most bank workers are scheduled to lose thier jobs. One of my cousins works at one of the failed banks and it's sad to say that i had to wire him some money because the bank did not pay their salary for 1 month! and he is a family man. Nigerian Govt. workers go months between salaries. Unless something a miracle happens, Nigeria is headed for the rocks. |

Some Nigerian men never cease to amaze me, how can you give your wife N150=$100 for the whole month? Even the baby food alone surpass $100/month. You must be a very humble wife to be contemplating if it was enough or not. |

Family › Re: Please Help I Dont Love My Wife by SweetT1: 12:56pm On Jul 07, 2009 |
richard10: i used to think that love didnt matter so much in marriage but i have been proven wrong,u see i married my wife out of unpleasant conditions,she got pregrant for me and everybody was on my neck to marry her that i couldnt leave her in that state,my pastor too was on my neck to marry her,so under the pressure i got married to her and we had a blessing of marriage in the church,that day was so super a lot of peolple were so happy for us but deep down in me i knew i didnt love this woman but then could i leave her in that condition?what if another man does the same thing to my sister how would i feel?and besides i discoverd the woman loved me and i was told that with time i would come to love to her,and so i made the biggest mistake of my life and married her. Ever since we have been married i have been a good husband to her but our marriage has been a show ,cos at home we sleep in different rooms,for about 6 mths now i have not made love with her cos i cant just dont have any desire for her anymore.i thought with time i would come to love her but the reverse has been the case,in fairness to her she has been a good wife to me but i cant do romantic things with her cos i dont love her at all and i sometimes i see her crying bitterly 4 me to love her and tried as much as i can i still dont feel anything for her i only feel a sense of responsiblty 4 her so i dont joke with her wellfare,many couples outside look up to us,some even come to us for advise (if only they knew)i am dying inside slowly,i am trapped in a loveless marriage,pls someone out there what do i do and as christains divorce is out of the issue i am so confused You do not love your wife yet you got her pregnant, whatever happened to Condom?? I have no sympathy for you. You are here whining about your marriage but you haven't told us how many times you told her "i love you" before sleeping she got pregnant. I really feel for women who have to put up with guys like this one. You lied to your wife, you lied to her family, you lied to your family and you also lied to yourself by not telling her the truth before marriage. But guess what? "you get what you give". It's called Karma and i hope you don't have a sister. |
