The Bible only condemns drunkenness and overindulgence but not the moderate consumption of alcohol. from time immemorial, men and women of God drank wine, a beverage mentioned over two hundred times in the Bible. Moderation in both drinking and eating is a fundamental requirement of God. it is The lack of self-control that brings his disapproval. |

9. Why Men & Women’s Button Are Placed On Opposite Sides; Apparently, buttons date back to the 1930s. By then, buttons were considered a luxurious fashion item and only the rich could afford them fashionable pieces. At that time, affluent ladies had maids who dressed them and that is why the buttons of the ladies shirts or clothes were put on the left so that the maids can quickly and easily button their madams with the assumption that a majority of the people are right-handed. Men however, mostly dressed themselves and that is why the buttons were put on the right side. While this is the most common theory out there, others suggest that the male clothes button were put on the right side so that they can easily and quickly remove their swords when at war. Whatever the case, it still works these days since most men like to UnCloth their ladies when things are about to heat up in the bedroom.*wink* Cc lalasticlala http://omgvoice.com/lifestyle/hidden-features-things/?geoip&country=GH

8. The Hole In Airplane Windows If you’ve flown on a plane before and sat close to the window, you will notice there is a small hole in the plastic glass covering the windows. That hole is meant to allow air to flow into the plane and also to regulate the pressure in the plane.

7. The Bump At The End Of A Laptop Cable The bump at the end of your laptop cable known as ferrite beads is not there to distract you or mess up your day. It is not just there for fun but serves a good purpose. It is there to prevent interference in the cable.

6. The Blue Side Of An Eraser You remember those erasers we used back in school which had one side to be blue and the other to be red? Back in school, we were told the blue is meant for erasing pen writings, most of us tried it and it obviously didn’t work, we ended up tearing our books. This is because the blue side is not meant for that, it is actually meant for erasing pencil writings on hard surfaces while the red side was meant for erasing pencil writings on soft surfaces. Now you have it, you can teach it to your children so they don’t repeat your mistake.

5. The Punt Under Wine Bottles The dimple under wine bottles known as Punt are not just there for decoration purposes, it is actually there to help the wine sparkle while in storage. Had it not been because of the punt under wine bottles, the bottle will exert pressure from the wine and explode.

4. Little Hole In A Padlock When you check the bottom of your padlock, you will notice there is a little hole close to where you put the key to unlocking the padlock. This might mean nothing to you but it is there for a purpose. The hole is meant for you to grease your padlock in case it gets rusty and gets stuck and you need to get oil in it. It is also meant to drain water that gets trapped in the padlock. If your padlock does not have the hole, then it is made out of stainless steel and it is supposed to be used indoors to prevent water from getting in.

3. The Little Hole In A Pen Cap You might be wondering why there is a little hole at the tip of the cap of your pen and you might not see the importance of it or you might assume it is just a design, but it really serves a significant purpose. Without that hole, whenever you close your pen, the air trapped in the cap and the inserting of the pen will create pressure which will push the ink out of the tip of the pen preventing it from writing and secondly, it is meant to prevent death if you accidentally swallow the cap. In case you swallow a pen cap, the hole will help you breathe easily till it is surgically removed, without it, many people would have choked on it and died.

2. An Extra Piece Of Fabric Those who usually buy from “bend down boutiques” might not relate to this but if you’re the type who always buy brand new clothing from boutiques, you will notice there is a piece of fabric with a button on it tucked in the pocket of either a shirt or trousers. Many people actually think it is meant for patching when you get the attire torn but that’s far from it. It is actually meant for you to use to test how it will react with detergents when using your washing machine. So what you need to do with is by washing it to see how it will fade before washing the main attire to prevent colors from sipping into other fabrics.

The average person just love to use things without asking questions. Here are a few things we use everyday with hidden features you might not have noticed but means a lot and serve a lot of purpose. 1. The Little Hole In The Side Of A Pen At a first glance, it might strike you as just a design but it is there for a reason and meant to serve a good purpose. Without the hole, a pen will be completely airtight and as you write and use the ink, the pressure will fall preventing the ink from flowing to the tip and eventually the pen will cease to write although there is still ink in it. On highlands or in planes where the pressure is lower, a pen with no hole can explode soiling your attire with ink. The hole equalizes the pressure in the pen to allow it to write. So the next time you see it, you should know it is not just there for fun.

Purgatory Definition: “According to the teaching of the [Roman Catholic] Church, the state, place, or condition in the next world . . . where the souls of those who die in the state of grace, but not yet free from all imperfection, make expiation for unforgiven venial sins or for the temporal punishment due to venial and mortal sins that have already been forgiven and, by so doing, are purified before they enter heaven.” (New Catholic Encyclopedia, 1967, Vol. XI, p. 1034) Not a Bible teaching. On what is the teaching of purgatory based? After reviewing what Catholic writers have said regarding such texts as 2 Maccabees 12:39-45, Matthew 12:32, and 1 Corinthians 3:10-15, the New Catholic Encyclopedia (1967, Vol. XI, p. 1034) acknowledges: “In the final analysis, the Catholic doctrine on purgatory is based on tradition, not Sacred Scripture.” “The church has relied on tradition to support a middle ground between heaven and hell.”—U.S. Catholic, March 1981, p. 7. Regarding the nature of purgatory, what do Catholic spokesmen say? “Many think that the total suffering of purgatory is identified with the awareness of the temporary postponement of the beatific vision, although the more common view holds that, in addition to this, there is some positive punishment . . . In the Latin Church it has been generally maintained that this pain is imposed through real fire. This is not, however, essential to belief in purgatory. It is not even certain. . . . Even if one chooses, with the theologians of the East, to reject the idea of suffering induced by fire, one should be careful not to exclude all positive suffering from purgatory. There are still real affliction, sorrow, chagrin, shame of conscience, and other spiritual sorrows capable of inflicting true pain on the soul. . . . One should remember, at any rate, that in the midst of their sufferings these souls also experience great joy over the certainty of salvation.”—New Catholic Encyclopedia (1967), Vol. XI, p. 1036, 1037. “What goes on in purgatory is anyone’s guess.”—U.S. Catholic, March 1981, p. 9. THE BIBLES ANSWER ABOUT THE SOUL AND THE TRUE CONDITION OF THE DEAD Does the soul survive the death of the body? Ezek. 18:4, Dy: “The soul [Hebrew, neʹphesh; “man,” JB; “one,” NAB; “soul,” Kx] that sinneth, the same shall die.” Jas. 5:20, JB: “Anyone who can bring back a sinner from the wrong way that he has taken will be saving a soul from death and covering up a great number of sins.” (Notice that this speaks of the death of the soul.) Is further punishment for sin exacted after one’s death? Rom. 6:7, NAB: “A man who is dead has been freed from sin.” (Kx: “Guilt makes no more claim on a man who is dead.”) Are the dead able to experience joy because of confidence in the prospect of salvation? Eccl. 9:5, JB: “The living know at least that they will die, the dead know nothing.” Isa. 38:18, JB: “Sheol does not praise you [Yahweh], death does not extol you; those who go down to the pit do not go on trusting in your faithfulness.” (So how can any of them “experience great joy over the certainty of salvation”?) According to the Bible, by what means is purification from sins accomplished? 1 John 1:7, 9, JB: “If we live our lives in the light, as he [God] is in the light, we are in union with one another, and the blood of Jesus, his Son, purifies us from all sin. . . . If we acknowledge our sins, then God who is faithful and just will forgive our sins and purify us from everything that is wrong [“all our wrong-doing is purged away,” Kx].” Rev. 1:5, JB: “Jesus Christ . . . loves us and has washed away our sins with his blood.” |

Working with your spouse can be bliss or a nightmare, depending on how you approach the endeavor. On the one hand, the burdens of your job can be lightened by the daily sight of the one you love. On the other hand, a relational souring in either realm can leave you trying to avoid each other not only at home but in the office, too. When a couple works together, jealously can occur. If one or the other partner gets a promotion or is favored at work, the other person may feel some resentment. Some couples also enjoy the separation that they have by having a life at work. They enjoy not having their mate involved in every aspect of their life. Having your own individual identity at work and not being related to as a couple or the husband or wife of a spouse can be nice. |
