GREAT GAME from two wonderful soccer clubs!! Arsenal is always a delight to watch!! ![]() |
SWITCH47 says Arsenal Like Great Barcelona of spain plays a beautiful brand of soccer that intelligent analyst enjoy ,those that truly love soccer as a game, primarily a game meant to be enjoyed, if winning a silverware is the only thing in soccer then manchester united (the only team with a silverware so far in the premiership) should be the only team with fans next season- if True fans tie winning of silverware to the reason they support a team, then soccer will go extinct, as Liverpool who got no silverware this season and the rest of the clubs will be embarrassed by empty spectator stand next season. BUT THE REAL FANS KNOWS BETTER because Their status/support is more like a TRADITION What we have here is a case of some Armchair self acclaimed Fans (not even supporters- because they have no form of support for the club whatsoever) living under the delusion that they are fans.COMPLETELY UNKNOWN TO THE CLUBS(these are not even true fans o )- trying to lay claim to any club in england that is winning trophies AT THE MOMENT!! Ever-presents in the Premier League; never finished higher than fourth (2004-05) or lower than 17th, and averaging 12th. 2. Never finished consecutive seasons in the top-half of the Premier League until last year - now they're certain to register three in a row, and could equal last terms fifth place. 3. The current total of 57 points after 36 games is five points down on last season, when fifth in the table where they ended the campaign. They can only total 63 points, which would be two fewer than last season. 4. Won one of the last five Premier League games; 0-2, away to Sunderland on 3 May. 5. Conceded a goal a game on average; 36 in 36. 6. Drawn 12 top-flight matches this term; only Newcastle exceed that with 13. 7. Drawn the last four Premier League games against London opposition, three of which were goalless including the last two, away to Chelsea and home to Spurs. Also, conceded just two goals in the last seven matches against clubs from the capital. 9. Victory here would only be their second home win against a current top-half club; the first was against Fulham. 10. Already recorded home and away victories over Bolton, Stoke, Sunderland and West Brom, and could also complete the double over West Ham, and Fulham, who they visit on the last day - six days before meeting Chelsea at Wembley on 30 May. |
Meldrick:just like ashley cole was not needed in chelsea right?? do you lack basic intelligence?? if you do , look for improvement, LIKE YOU WILL BE PART OF THE DECISION MAKING PROCESS AT CHELSEA?? or will they consult you if they want to buy him?? and it is they not WE as far as chelseafc is concerned YOU DONT EXIST. your preference, want or desire is not important!! ![]() |
THIS CAN BE DISCUSSED ON CHELSEA THREAD!! however in an attempt to dignify your post (chelsea fan creating two threads for same thing- peculiar) It is soccer, players leave one club for another considering their personal interest Rooney left Everton for manchester united even if his family(traditionally) remain Everton fans. it is not what others want or not but what the players are determined to do. |

I will never bust this club, vows Wenger Arsène Wenger is in the market for new players this summer but he won’t compromise the long-term future of the Club in the process. Arsenal spent big in January when they bought Andrey Arshavin from Zenit St Petersburg. It was a move that not only added invaluable pedigree to the Gunners’ young squad but also silenced those who questioned Arsenal’s clout in the transfer market. Speaking at Thursday’s pre-match press conference, Wenger refused to rule out further signings in the summer but, as ever, long-term financial stability is paramount. “If you want me to get the Club bust, I am not the person to do that, that’s for sure,” the manager stressed. “I believe every manager has the same problem, to manage within his own resources. I look now like I do not want to spend money, but I have nothing against spending money. “I just feel we have a team who can be very competitive and we want, as always, to manage this club within its resources and I will do that. “I believe in this team and from what I have seen in this team, that makes me quite optimistic. These players have the quality to beat anybody else. “If we can add one or two players with the resources we have, then we will do it.” [Thursday, May 14, 2009] SWITCH47 says Arsenal Like Great Barcelona of spain plays a beautiful brand of soccer that intelligent analyst enjoy ,those that truly love soccer as a game, primarily a game meant to be enjoyed, if winning a silverware is the only thing in soccer then manchester united (the only team with a silverware so far in the premiership) should be the only team with fans next season- if True fans tie winning of silverware to the reason they support a team, then soccer will go extinct, as Liverpool who got no silverware this season and the rest of the clubs will be embarrassed by empty spectator stand next season. Arshavin set to return for Old Trafford trip By Declan Taylor Andrey Arshavin will return against Manchester United after fully recovering from flu. The Russian was sent home from training twice in a row last week because of illness and sat out Sunday’s defeat against Chelsea. But he is available for this weekend’s trip to Old Trafford. However, Arsène Wenger has no other returning stars for the clash. William Gallas and Gael Clichy are both out for the season and Manuel Almunia is still struggling with an ankle injury, although he might return for the final game of the campaign against Stoke. “Andrey Arshavin is fully fit,” Wenger said at Thursday’s press conference. “Gallas, Clichy, Eduardo and Almunia won’t be available but everyone else will be. “Almunia has a little chance to play against Stoke. I want to play the players who have played the most games against Stoke so if he is available he will play.”

Wenger - Defence has been the difference By Chris Harris Arsène Wenger believes that a lack of defensive solidity has stopped Arsenal from matching Manchester United this season. The Frenchman takes his side to Old Trafford on Saturday knowing that anything less than a win will make Arsenal the reluctant guests at United’s third consecutive title party. Wenger’s side will definitely finish fourth and are 18 points worse off than the champions ahead of this weekend’s game. Having crunched the numbers, the Arsenal manager has pinpointed where his team has fallen short. “I feel the 18-point gap is a reflection we have to take on the chin," said Wenger at his pre-match press conference. "What people forget is that we were very far behind and we dropped too many points. Man United are world champions, European champions and will be champions of England. Everybody has to cope with that, not accept it and come back next year and beat them. "We have a very promising team who can deliver very soon. If you look at the statistics of the two teams for example, we have scored a similar amount of goals. In the passing quality in the final third and in the opposition half, we are as good as Man United. We have conceded more goals and that's where the difference lies. "We have conceded 36, they have conceded 24, we have scored 64 they have scored 67. Offensively, I do not believe there is a difference. Defensively, there was a difference.” [Thursday, May 14, 2009] SWITCH SAYS True talk- On the spot- analysis by the professor!! OH MY GOD!! Did Una see YAYA's goal yesterday?? First he was wakaring somehow b4 the pass. then the pass came The the gist was YAYA BECAME MESSI Touré becomes Messi Barça’s pressure was causing more and more concern to Athletic, whose lines were pushed further and further back. Barça were evidently more composed, and got their reward on the half hour. The unexpected protagonist was Touré, playing today at centre back. In an individual move displaying both skill and strength the Ivorian advanced from midfield and slalomed around three defenders before sending a low, powerful drive straight into the bottom right hand corner of the goal, just beyond the reach of Bilbao stopper Gorka. The two goals were a reflection of the respective styles of the two teams, Bilbao scoring from a corner and showing their superiority in the air, while Barça’s was a display of sheer skill and flair. The sides went in at the break in very different moods. Barça’s goal had knocked the wind out of the Basques, while Barça could even have gone in as leaders if Alves’ well-taken long range free kick had hit the target Where is Essien- am still looking for him o. i cant find him!! www.switch47..com |

First Step To The Treble Barcelona also have 24 Copa titles to their name but their 25th could be one of the most significant and memorable in the club’s history. If they triumph at the Mestalla, it will be their first piece of silverware in the much talked-about treble quest this season, after they failed to secure the Primera Division crown at the weekend following a 3-3 draw at home with Villarreal. That stumble, however, was seen as a blessing in disguise by coach Pep Guardiola and president Joan Laporta, as they both believed that the title celebrations would have taken the squad’s focus away from Wednesday’s final. But there’s no doubt that many cules would have loved to see their heroes wrap up La Liga at the very backyard of the Camp Nou and get at least one competition out of the way. Fatigue and injury woes are finally setting in for Guardiola and his charges, and his worst fears could yet come true. He has preached countless times to the press that no matter how much praise and plaudits they’ve earned, his side have yet to win any trophies. They have won only three times in their last eight outings, although over the past four weeks or so they have had to go through one of the toughest sequence of games any footballing team could possibly experience, including trips to Bayern Munich, Valencia, Real Madrid and, of course, Chelsea. The psychological importance of Wednesday’s final cannot be overlooked. If they falter against a fiery Athletic side, self-doubt could start to creep in to the minds of the players, not to mention the heightened pressure and criticism from the press in particular. Even though all that may not affect their Liga run-in, thanks to their sizeable cushion atop the standings, the excess baggage is not something they need to bring to the Champions League final showdown with Manchester United in two weeks’ time.

Barcelona plays Athletic Bilbao In Spanish cup finals today- A glimpes into How Barca will handle a smaller finals b4 the Bigger finals (UCL) A win here will Boost Barcelona players' Morale and seal Two tiltles B4 27th May UCL finals. Now who carries the day here? Copa del Rey Final Preview: Athletic Bilbao - Barcelona The two most successful clubs in Copa del Rey history will collide to determine who will become the 'kings' of the competition. But for both sides, there will be more important things at stake than simply going into the record books. Back Where They Belong Wednesday’s encounter will mark the first time Athletic Bilbao have played in a major cup final since 1985. That was the year they lost 2-1 to Atletico Madrid in the Copa del Rey, a year after beating Barcelona 1-0 to win this tournament for the 24th time. There’s still dispute over exactly how many Copas they have actually won. The LFP (Liga de Futbol Profesional) and the Spanish Football Federation only officially recognise 23 wins, as they won the inaugural 1902 trophy under a different name, Club Vizcaya. But the cup is on display in their trophy cabinet - and besides, it’s not a topic of debate you would want to bring up when in Basque territory.
