It is so appauling that this thread which is supposed to be educating and enlightening as we prepare for the intervew has been taken over by immaturity and infantry. From dwelling so much on grammatical blunders, to value-eroding discussions, and insults. No one is talking about likely interview questions. No one is looking out for a fellow who share their major to discuss field-specific questions that may arise during the interview. You all should take a cue from the NLNG thread. Before you make a post, you should ask yourself if an HR rep from NNPC would consider you employable after reading such. Please let's make this thread meaningful again.

Mechanical engineering GT hopefuls, how is your prep? I am expecting questions from thermodynamics, int comb engines, Eng design, strength of materials, turbo-machinery and fluid mechanics. What's your take?

My broda the questions may not be that technical, maybe 1 or 2 though. Be rest assured that it will be CV based and it will proceed in line with the direction of your answers.

For instance:
Q: Which subsidiary would you like to work in and why?

Q: You said you prefer to work in IDSL. Tell us how you would explain to an uncle in the village, the importance of IDSL?

Q: You studied Agric. Econs. Can u tell us how renewable energy can affect the agricultural sector; the opportunities and the likely challenges.

One funny one could be: as you walk in and have finished greeting the panel. One of them may just ask u with a stone cold look, ''What are u doing here?!'' loool. This one is sure to throw some ppl off balance.

I have a friend who graduated from a top University in Chicago in Chemical Engineering some 2/3 years ago.
After graduating, he went on to work for two different companies; One as a Science/Maths teacher to a very popular A' Levels programme that is affiliated with the US.

About almost less than a year later, he got a job with Halliburton (One of the top petroleum engineering companies) and after working for about a year, he was laid off due to the company reducing the number of staffs because of a certain merger that took place.

Firstly, he should commit the matter to God Almighty. This matter is like breakfast for God.

The nice thing here is that he has experience in a top coy. like Halliburton. He should compile a list of O&G companies then start blasting his CV, cover letter and credentials to their recruitment portals or HR mail addresses.

Perseverance pays.

PS: Because God is a miracle worker, He will get a job before he has finished compiling the list sef (if he commits it to God firstly).

@Babacha, not every correction is a ridicule. Learn to improve (on yourself). The fact that u are 'attacked' does not necessarily mean u should 'attack' back. Sometimes, silence is golden. This is the hallmark of maturity. I hope you won't throw me into flare stack for this.

PS: I hope u guys know some of us will be deliberately provoked/ridiculed by the interview panel to test our so-called 'excellent' interpersonal skills planted in our CVs.

Lest I remind you the SouthSouth is still solidly PDP why then do you always fight the Igbos alone whose party affiliations cut accross APGA, PDP and APC? Rochas is an APC governor so also is Ngige where both men have strong followings in the SE.

Other than Edo, no other state in the SouthSouth region can be said to have a strong APC prescence. Even Amaechi knows that Rivers people will never vote the APC.

I remember during the runup to the presidential elections how the SW and NOrth designated the GEJ administration as an Igbo government. Even Nyako once wrote an open letter to the President whereby he asked the Igbos to call their son Jonathan to order.

For some reason the SouthSouth was not to be offended other than the Ijaws since the APC still needs ND oil to manage their useless Nigeria.

Now that the presidential elections have come and gone why are you Tajus rubbing in the loss of GEJ as a win against the Igbos where it was in the SouthSouth Jonathan recorded the highest win and turnover votes?

As a ND citizen I will like to remind you in the SW to look at the SS as you most newly acquired enemies.

Unlike the Igbos we in the SS don't need Lagos or any part of Nigeria to survive. My state Delta offers any Job description to any able bodied and willing man who truly wants to earn a descent wage.

So please, kindly include us in the ND as your new enemies alongside the Igbos and the Ijaws.

If this propaganda didn't sway voters GEJs way in March, it will still be useless now. Let me give people a run-down of companies whose recruitment is on hold:

NLNG
OANDO
NNPC
Etc.

We did this NNPC test on the 6th of December 2014 when Oil prices were still sinking. Even more interesting of all is that the management and staff of NNPC decided to schedule the test in late 2014 knowing fully well that the price of crude had been declining since August of the same year. It therefore flies in the face of logic for them to suspend the process on the same premise that didn't prevent them from scheduling the test in the first place.

In summary, Companies (especially Big corporations) employ when the NEED arises. If the market is fair, they may decide to employ more hands than before. If it isn't, they may decide to cutback on the number. NNPC is a big corporation so I expect them to do same.

Common sense at last.

Why are you thanking God? He made wisdom and knowledge. You acquired these through a formal process (university). You saw an advert and applied, attended several interviews and the employer deemed it fit that you qualified ahead of the rest and offered you an appointment. You have since accepted. The thanksgiving is not necessary as you have got a brighter future ahead of you.

Just be hardworking, update your CV and move on at the slightest opportunity.

With the results of the presidential election released so far, there is a high probability that any of the 2 major candidates may be declared winner today. My question, if GMB eventually wins, will it affect this recruitment either by postponement till his government settles down or outright cancellation knowing that NNPC is a major player in our economy? The recruitment has NOTHING to do with change in governance. The recruitment process is on hold ONLY because of security reasons during the election period.

Ask yourself this question. If you were Buhari or Jonathan, wetin concern you with new intakes in NNPC? THINK BIG!
