Yh, a friend helped me when I was still in Nigeria and very cheap at that too 215 all inclusive. Accommodation here hard to get pass the admission sef I know people who have been here for over a month and still haven't found anything yet.

My people don't carry load o. I had 11kg extra luggage. Emirates asked me to pay 149,000 for it for egusi, crayfish and dryfish that didn't cost up to 10,000 naira When I got to Hamburg airport I had a suitcase that was from carriage weighing 32kg plus handluggage 12kg and back pack. I regretted it. You would pity me seeing me on the road dragging such heavy load. Intact Na one black lady who i later discovered was Nigerian wey pity help me carry am. Because you need to work distances and take steps to get to the train station. If you don't have anybody to pick you up immediately don't try it. Wheelbarrow pusher no dey here o. Apart from foodstuff just take few clothes and stuff.

It's true ooo... don't carry unnecessary things when i consider how much i spent on n extra luggage ehn e just dey pain me. Even all those katangowa "winter" jackets, it'll just be like polo. The cold here no dey gree o and to think that we are not even in winter proper hmmm its not funny o. You'll be wearing socks, sweater, gloves with the heater on before you are close to the normal Nigerian temperature but we shall survive.
school here is serious business sha, I have classes from 8am to 8pm two days in a week and to 6pm on other days... No time for yourself sef... congrats to those who have been granted and welcome to those who are just arriving, we sef are just getting settled in.

I got to Germany on Thursday. Safe and sound ( should I add cold too?) A friend picked me and my 5 bags from the Dusseldorf intl airport straight to my house. So I picked up my visa at the embassy yesterday. We were 19 in number that came for collection. Will be leaving really soon na just packing dey my head now...

To think that the first time I came across this thread, I wasn't just clueless, I was confused too. I didn't even know what IELTS meant (Eke can attest to this)...
From IELTS, to getting transcripts, to Certification, to Applications, to admission, to blocked account opening, to interview, to funding, to mailing( or should I say spamming) the foreigners office and the embassy to this long awaited email, God just used Eke to guide me. The wait wasn't easy and now I understand what people mean when they say "long awaited email" but finally, I got the mail.
Special thanks first to God.Thanks to everyone who made this dream a reality -Eke thank you isn't even enough, Oligee that I met during my interview who helped me with the names of all the German states just minutes to my own turn, Kennyogun,Twinkle, my ehusband Obiwann, countless people I sent pm's to who replied with their church mind. From day 1 not all banks re familiar with diz form A stuff I.e I connect more than 3 guys in Ibadan oyo state with a bank so they can make use of the form A without any stress. U r not in secondary school n I believe u re above 18 plz apply maurity make use of dorm account oga twinkle don advice u on dat or better still come to Lagos n initiate ur transaction if ur state banks re giving u headache mind u d diff btw form A n dorm account is more than 200k or almost. Dolpaz n EKE will explain better our experience wen I wanted to use dorm account we calculated 2.1m thanks to eke n Dolpaz they both persuaded to relax n exercise little patient finally finally including bank charges was 1.860m.

And you think those documents were not submitted too? well, my case isn't the same as yours seeing that my mum was the one trying to do the transfer for me with the form A. well, I'm beginning to think that angle doesn't work or has there been any case of anybody having someone else (like a parent or relative) transfer the money to them with the form A?

I had to stress the fact that I wasn't the person making the transfer personally and I didn't even say anything close to the stress I've put her through which of course you would have read if you weren't so busy trying to "bash" me. I was at Stanbic bank, Allen Junction with Kennyoguns to make the transfer. we were asked to use the Dorm option cos form A is meant for school blah blah blah.

Days after, he enquired from union bank head office and he was asked to do the following

1) open an account with them
2) Transfer the money
3) Bring supporting documents

And 72 hours Later, his account was debited and his db was credited.

That being said, I realized I have a very close cousin of mine who's presently working at Stanbic IBTC head office. I approached him in the office and he told me he's even the one in charge of sending the cash. He even Joked at me of "running to germany" lolz

Anyway, after series of discussion, he showed me over 6 transactions which he has carried out and I also verified it myself.

But unfortunately, he said he could not help me because my admission letter was not signed, hence he cant do anything. he can only process the money if the account holder has an account with them, has a "Signed" admission letter, and other supporting documents.

I begged and begged but he said no, because that's the bank policy. Unless, I have gotten another job for him.

To cut the long story short Mr twinkle. stop mis-leading people. not everyone can afford the extra 200,000 by using Dorm account.

If it doesn't work for you, It may work for others, At least over 5 people have used this method here and it worked.

CBN has nothing to do with the case here. The bank will need to Buy Forex from the Apex bank and initiate the transfer.

My advice for swtxt is to open a stanbic account, transfer the fund to her account and initiate the transaction with other documents.


Others may contribute, but as for me, I rest my case here.

They also said that I should get a signed admission letter even though they saw that on the last paragraph, they wrote "this letter is valid without a signature blah blah blah" and even though i have abundance of admission letters I don't think i should use a different one from the one I started processing with.

Thanks you guys, I guess I'd have to ask her to transfer (I even bank with fidelity)... It's just that on here, i saw that people were using Stanbic and Union Bank...

Hello house, just when I thought that I'd finally scaled through the form A hurdle, my mum's bank(Stanbicibtc, Umuahia) called to say they couldn't complete the transaction. Reason's being that: 1.) They need an official letter from the school stating that the money is indeed for my yearly upkeep (my mum has told them the embassy and not even the school demands that the money be paid into the account before you get any visa but they still insist on the letter)
2.) They(the headquarters) say that even though they're familiar with people using form A to fund their account (which as a matter of fact I'm beginning to doubt), that they've only handled the cases where the person trying to transfer is in fact the owner of the account (my mum is trying to transfer to my account with the form A method) and they've not come across a case where someone else is making the transfer.
All these things are beginning to stress me out sha... Anybody with an idea on how to tackle these issues?

Yes exactly visa appointment dates at the embassy are not given on first come, first serve basis. I booked for visa appointment on the 30th of June I was given 10th of August. Someone else booked two weeks later she was given 4th of August. I have a friend that booked 3 weeks after I had booked mine he was given the same date with me.

True that, I booked on the 17th june and i was given 29th of june... Na only them know as dem dey use do am

You are To fund at least 8090 not 8040 o.. It's stated in the blocked account confirmation letter that the Bank will CHARGE €50 euros.

To be on the safest side at least 8100. DB fit get some tiny hidden charges.. ****my opinion ****

Is it this letter that you should go to the bank with? They asked for any letter from the school or embassy that specifically states the amount that needs to be credited and not only from the bank ... I'm confused sef

I'm also experiencing some blocked account/form A wahala... How exactly did you guys fund? And how much? 7908 or 8040?

Okay, so wht course is he going for. I heared that all B.sc applicants must write test. So do u know wht d test looks like.

I think it has to do with the course you're going for. for example, if your course is bio-related, you'll be given a biology test and otherwise, you'll be given a maths test.
PS: These tests are pretty basic, just brush up on things you learnt in ss1...
