EducationRe: He Got 2.2 In Sch And His Dad Became Hostile To Him. by Syenite(m): 10:16am On Jun 13, 2011
No child of mine will come home with anything less than a first class.

The boy's response has shown that his father knows better than he does.
He(the father) was probably looking at it from the employment requirement angle. For those of you that are still in school and are running their mouths against the boy's father, if you don't make atleast a 2:1 ur chance of getting a good job is very slim. Most Oil companies, Banks and Telecom companies peg entry requirements at 2:1. Forget about man-know-man, it's only very few people that make it thru such. No company will want to flood it's offices and operations with mediocres. If you work very hard you can get that dream job without knowing even a cleaner in the company.

The boy saying it's only people that bribe lecturers that make 2:1 and above has shown that he is a mediocre. Ribbishhh.
Jobs/VacanciesRe: Nnpc New Recruitment Www.nnpcgroup/recruitment by Syenite(m): 11:02pm On Jun 12, 2011
nnpcitalia:
Hello, I'm a foreigner, I need some information about working at nnpc in Abuja because i received an offer to work there as laboratory analyst, can you help me please?:

1 Is the place around the company safe?
2 , about the nnpc real estate flats, are they in the nnpc towers structures or outside?
3 Is there any recreational structure (sport fields) inside?

I have these concerns coz i know nigeria is not really so safe country at the moment, so i wondered if i can find everything i need inside or i have to go outside and risk (my life) just for buying food or having a walk,

thank you very much!!!
You are very safe in Nigeria. Abuja is about the safest and best place to live in Nigeria.Be rest assured. As you asked their are no housing estates in the NNPC Towers in Abuja. And there are recreation centers in Town where you can enjoy recreation activities. Besides NNPC has some excellent hotels where their staff can relax for recreation purposes. These are the Agura Hotel and also the Chelsea Hotel.
chamber2:
why not try Afghanistan or Pakistan if you think Nigeria is not safe?.Are there no Nigerian(s) working and living in Nigeria?Do you think Nigerians will even notice whether you exist or not? Before you accepted the offer of employment did you not take your time to review the security situation of the country?Aside those foreign folks working in oil companies who got kidnapped as a result of their greed and utter disregard for the host community, and environment, which other foreigner has been kidnapped or killed in Nigeria?

I hate it when people base their judgement on what they read or heard from the media without taking time to understand the rationale behind the action. There are so many foreigners living and working in Nigeria without any form of threat to their lives.NNPC is not even an oil company, it's just a government parastatal. You presented your enquiry as if Nigeria is a hell of country to live in, and yet you still want to come in to look for bread and butter. If you don't want the offer so many qualified people want it.
Easy man, I wouldn't blame him. With all these Bokoharam, kidnapping, post-election violence issues? His questions are not out of place.

If NNPC is not an Oil Company then what is it? A water corporation?

A friend not you,  Why do people like deceiving others? If you are the prey let us know so as
to give right dose rather pretending! Gbeborun nie joor if you are not the one involved! rofl
Thank you fxtopedia, I was thinking same too. All the same.

You didn't specify the guys level of education/illetracy.U know
illetracy has levels eg pry sch drop-out, sec sch drop-out, Sch cert. holder etc. My advice is you know this man very well, if he is matured in his reasoning and has high self esteem(not intimidated by your level of education) and u consider your age difference appropriate u can marry him. After-all educated couples also have diferring opinions about issues.

(this is common among Igbos) huh huh huh
RomanceRe: At What Age Should A Man/Woman Get Married? by Syenite(m): 10:56pm On Jun 11, 2011
Well it depends on several factors such as Level of Education, Ethnic group, The company one keeps etc

-For level of education: People who are illeterate are more likely to marry earlier especailly women eg age 17-20. Our slow educational system slows educated people down.

-Ehnic group: Some ethnic groups encouarge their youths to get married early whether they are buoyant or not.Eg Hausa men marry with little or nothing in their pockets.During my NYSC I had a couple of Hausa guys that were married. The Yorubas also encourage their young men to marry early whether they have a good paying job or not.It is the family of the bride that encure the wedding expenses. Most Yoruba men get married before age 30 and most Yoruba women get married before age 28. For the Igbos the average age to get married for men is 35yrs! Most of them get married from 33 and above.I am Igbo but got married at 30 and my people grossly believed I got married too early! Men, I had a high paying job and a stable relationship-a beautiful Angel from a good family background who had also graduated, so what next?
Igbo ladies get married late because the Igbo men who will marry them delay in marrying.

-The company one keeps: Men that hang out alot with friends end up marrying late:-not willing to let go of the brother-hood.

All in all I think the best age range for men to get married is 28 - 32

And for ladies  it is 23 -28

AutosHow Available Are Dodge Spare Parts In Nigeria? by Syenite(op): 10:09pm On Jun 10, 2011
Although Dodge cars are not so popular on Nigerian roads but it might interest you to know that about 30% of cars that ply Canadian roads are Dodge products particularly the Dodge GrandCaravan. Ever since I was driven in one of them I fell in love with the brand.

I am looking at buying a Dodge GrandCaravan.Any one knows how available the parts are back here in Nigeria.
And can this brand stand the test of the Nigerian roads?

Please I need contributions.Thanks.

SportsRe: Nations Cup: Nigeria Does Not Need To Top The Group To Qualify by Syenite(m): 8:34pm On Jun 05, 2011
, And I will also add here that the ranking of the second placed teams will be done based on outcome of matches played against the top 3 teams in the groups A to J.

Eg if it ends as:

1st-Nigeria
2nd-Guinea
3rd-Ethiopia

Guinea will be assesed and ranked based on the outcome of matches involving these three teams only, ruling out Madagascar.
