Hey!! but how come the 19years old Joel Obi has not been considered for the U-20 team? That guy will go places o. With him and Ahmed Musa in the U20 team coupled with players like Nwofor, Stanley Okoro, Azeez and Kayode we can lift the WYC.

On goalzz website-which is well reputed and internationally viewed, the ties is stated as Nigeria first vs Argentina First.
So for those of you that down-play this match, FIFA and the soccer world might not see it as such. After-all this same Argentine team beat Paraguay 4-2 just some few days back.

Haba Nigerians should appreciate these guys for once.

TV/MoviesRe: Who Remembers This Children's Tv Program From The 80's/90's by Syenite(m): 6:41pm On May 30, 2011
@Phreakabit,

U made me shed tears just now while running down that list. cry

I was one of those kids in Lagos then that loved watching TV so much.

Infact I had the programs schedule in my head(though i was still brilliant in school). My favourite cartoon was Voltron.

My younger sister loved the munch bunch then, though I never liked it much. She used to call it mbunchy-bunchy.

I am in my thirties now and still love cartoons, though not as much as I did then.
Children of these days are missing.
SportsSuper Falcons Crash Out Of All African Games by Syenite(op): 7:14pm On May 15, 2011
Ghana's women's side secure their place at the All Africa Games after beating rivals, Nigeria at the El-Wak Stadium in Accra on Sunday.

The Black Princesses won 2-1 to complete a 3-2 aggregate victory over the Super Falcons after drawing 1-1 in the first leg a fortnight ago.

Goals from Faiza Ibrahim and a penalty by Rosemary Ampen ensured that Kuuku Dadzie's side end Nigeria's stronghold of the women's game as Ghana reach the finals of the Games later in September in Mozambique.

The Black Princesses will join seven other women's sides to participate at the eight-team tournament.

SportsRe: Which African Team Do You Fear Most? by Syenite(m): 9:19am On May 13, 2011
I am not particularly afraid of any team in Africa. However I would not like Nigeria lose to any of the following teams in the ff order.

1. Ghana
2. South Africa
3. Cote D' Voire
4. Cameroun

Honestly, I prefer Nigeria to lose to Somalia or Mauritania rather than lose to most espacially Ghana or South Africa at any level, both male and female.

I hate it when any of our teams loses to the above mentioned nations because of the taunting and ridicules that usually follows. Ghanaians originated that name "Super Chickens" for our Super Eagles and I hated them for that.

AutosVolkswagen Recalls 71,000 2011 Jettas As Honda Recalls 2,800 2011 Odyssey by Syenite(op): 6:45pm On Apr 02, 2011

VW Recalls 2011 Jettas in Which Horn Can Make Engine StallBy CHRISTOPHER JENSEN

Volkswagen is recalling about 71,000 Jettas from the 2011 model year because a wiring problem with the horn could cause the engine to stall .The problem is that the same fuse is used for the horn and the antitheft system, Volkswagen told the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.

If there is an electrical short in the horn, Volkswagen said, it would blow the fuse, shutting off the engine management system. That would cause the engine to stall or might turn off the headlights or windshield wipers.

If a driver was “using lights, wipers and then pushing the horn the fuse could blow,” said Sheriece Matias, a Volkswagen spokeswoman. But she said that would be “an extremely rare combination of events.”

The automaker told the agency that it was not aware of the problem causing any accidents and that a Volkswagen employee discovered the problem while studying a Jetta that experienced intermittent stalling.

Volkswagen described the recall as voluntary, but under federal regulations once a manufacturer learns of a safety problem, it has no choice but to inform N.H.T.S.A. and recall the vehicle

• Honda is recalling about 2,800 2011 Odyssey minivans because the glass in the front doors is defective and in the worst case could shatter “into the passenger cabin, causing a risk of injury.”

Honda blamed the use of “the incorrect primer fluid” on the glass for the problem. That could allow the glass to separate from the holding clips and “bind or drop into the front doors” or shatter, the automaker told the agency.

Beaf:
Was it "education" that made you claim to be a parastatal? If thats what you call "education," then I want none of it.
@ Beaf i am sorry i was hash on u earlier on, I must have over-estimated your age.I understand now that u are a very young person. But I just need to explain to u the meaning of a parastatal.Because I know from your responses it's not quite clear to u.

Parastatals are establishments wholly or partially controlled by the government. They are run by people who are wholly or partially employed by the government. These parastatals are made up of people who work for the common good of the public. They are also called civil or public servants which ever is applicable. Examples of parastatals are Ministries, NNPC, DPR, NAFDAC,PHCN, NPA,Central Bank, Mining Corporation,Railway Corporation etc. These establishments provide services to the public and some like NNPC, NPA etc make money for the gonernment and Nigeria at large.

To the topic: 'Jonathan orders FG parastatals to patronise Nigeria made vehicles'. It means that the official vehicles to be used by the employees of these establishments should be made in Nigeria. That is from the money they make or from the funds given to them(which is partly from the taxes we pay)they should purchase these vehicles.

Ok? smiley

This is too hard for them to figure out, its's way way above their meager intelligence and IQ. This is really embarrassing.
Looks like they are a bunch of secondary school students. Look at that one saying 'you are not a parastatal, FG workers are not parastatal'.I think he just picked-up this story from one of the dailies and pasted it without comprehending it and the implications.

Don't worry Beaf and Sky-Blue, when you attain a certain level of education you will understand this topic better ok?

I've boded two blocks. The first one is easily taken care of by reciting the title of the thread very slowly to you (so that you don't get confused); "Jonathan Orders FG Parastatals To Patronise Nigerian Made Vehicles."
Does it say "for Nigerians to patronize patronise?" Maybe in your books, your hunter neighbour is part of the FG?
The rest of your post is what secondary school students call ITK or yarning OP.

As for the second bolded, your stark failure at the simplest comprehension has taken care of that. Its a case of looking in the mirror and seeing you, not someone else. grin grin grin
OMG! I don't understant some people here. What makes up the Parastatals? Is it the office blocks, tables and chairs or what. What or who will patronise or use these cars.Is it not human beings? Haba! So considering safety of life is not out of place here. You really need to understand things ok?

@ SkyBlue

Bros. No vex o. But Is the burden of proof of a car's safety on the manufacturer or the consumer??

It is not a consumer's business to find out whether the car is safe or not. It is the manufacturer that should put all that information out.

Which Nigerian Agency will provide the equivalent of the NHTSA safety rating of these cars; most of which will be buses ferrying more than 40 people at once.

I won't buy an Innoson car now, just like I won't buy a car made by some local Chinese (Shenzhou or something like that). That is just what these Innoson Cars are.

I value my life and that of my family. Even the fact that it is cheaper (which I doubt) would hardly sway me towards it.

Despite so many advances recently, a lot of people still see KIA (A major motor manufacturer) that way. They do have nice cars though.
thank u brother.U understand what motoring is all about. I don't think Sky-Blue has ever driven a car. grin grin grin
