Like what?
He featured prominently for our national Team for 17yrs. He was Team captain for the last 3yrs he spent in the national team.He was never the highest goal scorer but he definitely created several chances for others to score. You think football is all about dribbling like Jayjay Ochacha did?His inflence on the game was always noticeable: Deadly passes, good ball holding ability, good positioning, he caused several free-kicks and penalties that led to goals 'cos he was easily fould by opponents. He is the most Inteliigent player this country has ever had. He plays more with his brains than any other part of his body. Whether you like it or not KANU NWANKWO IS THE KING OF NIGERIAN FOOTBALL.

I quite agree more with the top ten than I would for the remainder of the list.

Ola-Ray:
Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha What a load of rubbish, he has 2 AGE RELATED MEDALS (A-G-E R-E-L-A-T-E-D)

Tell me what he did for the national team?
Show me which other player in that top 10 that won 2 age related medals. Besides this was not conducted based on National team football alone but also club engagements. We cannot also rule out the fact that Kanu contributed alot to our Senior National Team.

PropertiesRe: Is Build To Rent A Good Investment? by Syenite(m): 2:11pm On Jun 16, 2011
@ Reflector, a good topic u've started here. I have been reading everybody's comments since yesterday.

I have never seen building for rent as a good investment. How can you invest a huge sum and which ever indeces u use and expect to your Payback time at 20yrs + or -5! You spend 5 to 10yrs to build a house and wait for 20-25yrs to recoup the investment. That makes about 30yrs.Add 30yrs to your current age.You would be about 60 + if not 70+ Is that when u want to start enjoyin life? angry angry

There are several businesses/investments that you can get a Payback Time of 1 to 5 yrs. wink wink

In my opinion if you are still young(less than 40yrs) put your money more in investments with faster returns that can fetch u some good money and them split your money:re-investing sum into that same biz and then you can start building for rent or something else. I will only build just for social status/sentiment later in life not now that I am still hustling to grab my cashes. wink wink

And who says buildings have zero risks attached? Govt bulldozz houses, some are gotted by fire, Some buildings collapse, sum sink, in some cases where we have land dispute a whole building can be pulled down after court judgement. shocked shocked

Building houses in the Village is just for social/status sentiments, and people who want to make their Villages look like township, nothing more. grin grin

RomanceRe: Why Do Women Respect Their Bosses More Than Their Husbands? by Syenite(m): 10:10am On Jun 16, 2011
@ poster, there are no basis for comparing a boss with an husband. An employee answering sir to her boss does not necessary mean she's afraid of him.And that does not tranlate to her having more respect for her boss than her husband. Sir is just an officail way of adressing your boss.

But why on earth should a woman be trembling before her husband? Husbands and wives should be best of friends and that does not mean that the wife will not respect him.

DO YOU KNOW THAT THE HUSBAND HAS THE POWER TO ASK THE WIFE TO QUIT THE JOB WHILE THE BOSS DOES NOT HAVE THE POWER TO ASK THE WIFE TO QUIT HER MARRIAGE?
PoliticsRe: Children Of The Poor Can’t Break Even, Says Soludo by Syenite(m): 9:48am On Jun 16, 2011
"He regretted that education, which served as a vehicle for bridging the gap between the rich and the poor, as children of both attended the same school, is now endangered because the poor are forced to attend public schools which lack chairs and desks, while the children of the rich attend expensive private schools, thereby eliminating the hope of bridging the gap."

That is the point. When I was in Primary and Secondary School. You could have the son of a carpenter share the same class room desk with the son of a Bank manager. We had equal treatment. I was from a poor background but I had friends whose parents were rich. So then it was normal to have the rich in the midst of the poor without any threats.

Now the gap is just so wide that the only time poor children see rich children is when the rich kids are driven pass in their fathers air-conditioned cars.

If this trend is not checked, 9 and 10 year olds will soon start kidnapping rich men's children too.

May God protect those innocent children. It's high time this government of ours declared a fool fledged war against kidnappers. Who knows their condition now, especially the ladies amongst them. Terror! lipsrsealed lipsrsealed lipsrsealed

Those kidnappers are sure to be somewhere in the Niger-Delta.Let the SSS and JTF swing  into action.Nothing must happen to those children o else we will stop sending our children for NYSC or the program be reviewed. One cannot raise a child up to that age only to lose them to some useless kidnappers. cry cry cry

Who is not too old? He should look at the present Super Eagles apart from Yobo anybody be his mate there. You won come begin follow small-small boys drag jersey.

He's trying to see whether Nigerians can give him another chance so he can organise testimonial match for himself. No problem, on your testimonial match day Nigerian fans will descend on him and he'll explain to each of us y he brought our Green and white flag to a disrepute. Ole oshi alakori.

SportsRe: Who Or Whom Among The Nigerian Ex Players Do You Miss Most? by Syenite(m): 12:10pm On Jun 15, 2011
Rashidi Yekini. Nigeria hadly played a goaless game during his reign. If we won 4-0 Reshidi would score atleast 2goals.
If he was in that team to Ethiopia we would probably had won 4-2. wink
If it was Yekini that got that chance Yak got and missed against Korea during the last WC the ball would have toren the net and killed a spectator at the stand. grin

He is (argueably)our most prolific striker ever.

Jobs/VacanciesRe: Can I survive on 90K per month? by Syenite(m): 9:58am On Jun 15, 2011
@ poster don't mind those people abusing you. They are just frustrated mediocres. They can as well live on N1,500 per month salary. They think the only reason you earn salary is to feed, cloth ur self and pay rents and bills.

I understand how you feel. You probably had hoped to start with something better. You know what you are worth. There is no crime in thinking big for your self.
My advice is just take the job. As you grow in the Company they'll definitely increase your pay.Alternatively, as you gain experience you'll be better able to market your self to a better paying firm.

Best of God.

Katsumoto:
Please research your subjects first and well.

Abdul Razak from Ghana won in 1978, Ali Bencheikh (Algeria) was second while Thomas Nkono was third.

The first top three finish by a Nigerian was for Odegbami who was third in 1977. Odegbami also finished second in 1980. The next time a Nigerian finished in the top three was when Yekini finished third in 1993. Yekini won the award as the first Nigerian in 1994. Okala, sadly was never in the top three.

France football gave the award from 1970 to 1994 while CAF started givining the award in 1993. Yekini won the first CAF award in 1993 while Abedi won the France football award. Amunike won the CAF award in 1994 while Weah won the France Football version in that year.
Bros check ur sources very well Emmanuel Okala won the CAF player award for 1978 though it was announced in February 1979.
