Mama-gee you are in-deed ![]() |
ow11:It's quite obvious that the only tournament she's watched so far is just the last WC cos all her comments have shown that. I am sure she will soon mistake the Super Falcons for the Super Eagles. ow11:As far as FIFA is concerned the Chukwudi age saga is case closed. |
Can You get me a Toyota Camry 1995 model (wagon) delivered in Benin-City? How much will that cost me? |
ow11:So who should be in the team? You? ![]() As far as the FIFA MRI scan is concerned Chukwudi is 18yrs old. Period! mama-gee:Mama-gee, I think we need to clear the dust for you. THE FLYING EAGLES TEAM IS DIFFERENT FROM THE SUPEREAGLES. Players 17yrs and under form the Golden Eaglets team Players 20yrs and under form the Flying Eagles team Players 23yrs and under form the Olympic Team The most senior national team are the Super Eagles. Hope that helped? |
Well said Davidif, I think our opinions are pointing towards the same direction. We need to develop the game at the grass roots and then Establish world class academies to polish our raw talents and get them to learn basic football techniques. The difference between teams from Africa and Europe is just techniques! If not for techniques why would a team like Ivory Coast crash out @ the group stage of the world cup even when it was glaring that they had the best assemblage of players in that group. |

honeric01:Nops! bros It's winner between Mauritius and Zambia. |
Nigeria was beaten 1-0 by Guinea on Sunday, but still advanced 2-1 on aggregate to the final round of the AYC qualifier. The Flying Eagles had won the first leg in Abuja by 2-0 but were bracing for an onslaught in Conakry. While the onslaught came as expected, John Obuh's wards held out until the second half, when they went a goal behind. But the Junior Syli stars failed to find another goal, and Nigeria progressed. The flying eagles will meet either Mauritius or Zambia in the final leg of qualifiers. |

But on a second look you'll discover that most of this lads are not exceptional at club level. For instance at that age:- Emmanuel Amuneke was in Barcelona Sunday Oliseh was in Juventus Taribo West was in Inter-Milan Daniel Amokachi was in Everton Nwankwo Kanu just left Ajax for Inter-Milan Celestine Babayaro was in Chelsea JJ Okocha was doping exploit at Frankfort George Finidi was in Ajax Tijani Babangida was in Ajax Our current crop of Eagles are not super stars, they are just average. However with a good FA, good planning and agood technical adviser an average team can still perform well, Uruguay for instance. |
I am dissapointed in we Nigerian fans.We don't ever see anything good in our teams. If you think those girls are overaged come up with evidence or shot your trap! honeric01:Are you sure you're watching the tourney urself. As far as I'm concerned the only true U-17 are the Lagos boys. Can you prove to me that Robben iS 24, Ribery is 25, Forlan is 28 and John Terry is 29? All those 40yr olds! You don't see anything wrong about other country's teams only yours. Go-on exposing your selves before the international community. |
My brother yes academies. But the fundamental problem is that our kids and youths now spend more time watching football on TV rather than playing football. If it's all about academies we have several of them in this country. From what age do kids start playing football with other kids?Ans:-from about 3 or 4yrs of age. That is the age kids start learning how to play football. Believe me or not, any kid that can't play football at age 10 cannot end up as a professional footballer. This implies that the foundation age is 3-10yrs. Academies yes Academies but you also said academies don't teach people how to play the game they only polish their skills and teach them techniques.Academies are mainly for kids of secondary school age. Know that a child that never played football uptill he is 10yrs old can never polish any skills or learn any techniques from which ever academy. Now my point is as I said before kids spend more time watching than playing football. In the golden 80's and part of 90's (which was when we produced the best youth teams) most of us used to play football on the streets. We had inter-street tourneys with jessies and trophy plus price money. Saturdays were fully utilized for playing of football. Today kids spend the whole weekend watching the EPL! Another point is that in the 80's and early 90's most kids attended govt schools with large play grounds for football and other sports.Today private schools have taken over with little space for kids to play Also all the former playgrounds in Lagos and other states have been converted to markets and motor parks. Children of today spend more time behind their father's gates with the instruction that no one must play outside. With all these prevailent factors today most kids of 3-10 yrs can't really play football. If this trend is not checked in 5-10 yrs time Nigerian football would be dead and buried. An ex-players I played on the streets with in the 80's was Emmanuel Amuneke. We then had a team called " Hungry Lions" a club made up of boys from my street in Sari Iganmu, Orile,Lagos. Amuneke was also a deadly striker in my then secondary school -Cardoso High School, Badia-Ijora,Lagos as his deadly left foot helped us to win the Lagos state pricipal cup in 1990! |

Supersport United vs FC Utrecht (4-1) |
SUDAN !!!!!!!What?! which kain rubish them go look-for for there ![]() |
The Lagos International Youths tourney kicked-off today at the Teslim Balogun Stadium, Lagos. The tourney has in participation the U-17 teams of:- Supersports United of South Africa Utrecht FC of Netherlands Liberty professionals of Ghana Lagos United. The Lagos united team which is made up of players picked from the just completed Lagos state principals cup started the match as second best as they went down two goals within 30mins of the game. However they improved with the game and pulled one goal back late in first half. The game ended Lagos United 1 Liberty pros. 2. The Fasola boys looked really small as they are boys in SS1 and 2 from secondary schools in Lagos. The fact is that they were 15,16 and 17 years olds and they looked like junior brothers to the Ghanaian boys which really shows that the Liberty boys are age cheats! I give the Lagos boys kudos cos they came back into the game and almost equalised. Besides they are not professionals just school boys on holiday and camped for 2weeks unlike the Liberty boys who play in a professional club and have been together for over 2years. Thursday and saturday are other match days. If you reside in Lagos you can find some time to see some of the games. It is also live on Supersports select. |
ice234:I agree with you. I did not see the duo of Stanley Okoro and Sanni Emmanuel in the game. Our attack did not click at all .Ahmed Musa was playing for himself and not for the team. The goals came from Ajagun and Egbedi who are mid-fielders. They need to be at their best in Conakry to stop those fit rampaging Guineans. More results: Mali 2 Tchad 0 Benin 0 Burkinafaso 0 Ivory Coast 1 Tanzania 0 Angola 2 Gabon 0 Congo PR 2 Rwanda 0 |
The flying Eagles of Nigeria on saturday beat Guinea 2-0 in a second round match of the Libya 2011 AYC qualifiers. After a tension soaked barren first half, the John Obuh boys came into the second half smoking as they scored 2 goals within the first 5minutes of the second half. All efforts geared towards increasing the scoreline failed as both sides missed glaring scoring chances towards the close of the game. Congrats to the Flying Eagles but I am not happy with the score line. The Guineans are still in the contest, u know in Africa home advantage counts a lot. Our boys need to play to win in Conakry ,probably get a goal and Guinea will have to score 4times. I wish them all the best. Some other results: Egypt 2 Uganda 0 South Africa 0 Lesotho 2 Zambia 1 Mauritius 0 Sudan 0 Kenya 2 Cameroun 4 Central Africa 0 Ghana 4 Namibia 0 Gambia 4 Sierra Leone 1 Morocco 0 Senegal 2 |

andiwam: toba: trusted:The FIFA ranking was not done based only on the just concluded world cup. It is a cummulative thing, previouse tourneys, friendlies etc. You also consider the calibre of players in each team.Else Ghana would have been on top 8. The greatest slide of all was Cameroun. I believe England, Brazil and Portugal are ok where they are. |

1)Baby boys are older than the EODs so you should expect to see more baby boys at the mechanic workshop. 2)Baby boys are more common on the roads so the chance of seeing more baby boys at the work shop should be more. @Siena, those are nick-names given to various year models of Honda Accord.Eg:- Halla:1991 to 1993 Bullet and Bulldog:1994 to 1997.('97 bulldog AKA Academy)('96 to97 bullet AKA Tigerface) Baby boy: 1998 to 2002. I live and work in Benin. I must tell you that the Benin I met 2yrs ago when I got treansfered here in not the Benin of today. There's been so much transformation. Though all those pix are from the Ring road, the govt. has rehabilitated places like Ekenwan road, Akpakpava, Airport road, Sapele rd and other streets within the GRA have been worked on. Benin had no street lights before now. But now there are street lights in some major roads. They are equally working on the drainage system Power supply in Benin is about the best in Nigeria. (a minimum of 20-22 hrs of power supply per day) However our major challenge is still security, though things have gotten better since after all the juju priests and idol worshipers reigned curses on Kidnappers and robbers in the town. |
Ghana was the better team. But I thank God they lost. Atleast Nigeria will be saved from being taunted by it's lousy neighbour called Ghana. Those of us who interface with Ghanaians will understand better. GHANA HAS GONE!! ![]() |
hey! this is a 1992 hala not 94. 94 is bullet or bull dog.You sell a baby for 2.4M!! or did you mean 1.4M? |
Do you know that every match Ghana wins they also see it as a win against Nigeria? Yes it is that bad. Do u know y they so much celebrated their qualification for 2nd round despite the loss to Germany? It was because Nigeria didn't make it and they made it. I have never supported Ghanaian football at any level because they so much hate Nigerians. I can support Cameroun, Ivory Coast, Mali or any other African country but not Ghana and South Africa. Those guys no like us at all. God help Nigeria if Ghana should get to the semis. MY PRAYER IS GOD PLEASE LET URUGUAY BEAT GHANA FOR US. To save us from the agony of being taunted by a small neighbour. ![]() |
@poster several factors are responsible. The fact is that there are still jobs. The questions are: 1) With what class of degree did she gradute? i.e 3:1,2:2,2:1,1:1 2) At what age did she graduate? 3) What did she study? 4) Has she prepared her self to take the various test? 5) Has she ever reached the interview stage of any recruitment? If she graduated with a 2:2 or below, and is currently above 26-27 yrs old and did not study a course that sharpened her mathematical and analytical ability she will find it difficult. Way forward: For the fact that she graduated 3yrs ago she should be nearing late 20's now(If not even 30). She should learn some enterpreneural skills and get self employed. |
