I've got no problem with nigeria borrowing, afterall dynamic economies run on debt so far as it can be funded and sustained but my problem is what this money is used for. If the government comes and tell us that we need to borrow money to build a high speed rail connecting lagos, abuja and p.h! No one will complain but borrowing money we don't see it's use is a tragic!!

I respect the fact that despite their level of education and exposure, these ladies still clinge to their culture and tradition.

washable diapers are unhealthy in many ways. When a child urinates in such it has poor absorbtion which leads to the child getting rashes. And most mothers don't wash this napkins well using anticeptic so it retains dirt and germs which affects the child,

Senator Chris Anyanwu yesterday accused Imo State Governor Rochas Okorocha of ordering his security detail to attack her convoy and beat up her security men.

Wednesday’s convoy clash was the height of the personality clash between the two public officials both of whom were elected on the platform of the All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA).

But Okorocha’s spokesman Ebere Uzoukwa denied the claims by the senator.

He said the senator breached protocol by using a siren, which has been banned in the state.

“The senator’s vehicle suddenly rammed into the governor’s convoy close to the staff car, cutting off the lead security vehicle after overtaking dangerously and in a very suspicious manner,” Uzoukwa said.
But, Senator Anyanwu recounts the incident in Owerri, the Imo State capital. She described the governor’s security men’s action as “frightening” and “brutish”, adding that she had been threatened in the past at several occasions in the state.

Giving a graphic detail of the clash between her convoy and the governor’s security men, Senator Anyanwu said: “My day started around 9.30am when I visited the governor at the Government House on Tuesday to exchange pleasantries and he asked if I had adequate security and I said “yes” after which I left for my home town, Mbaise.”

“When we got to Azara Egbelu, we heard siren coming behind us and when it grew louder, we parked (our vehicles) to allow the convoy way to pass. But, surprisingly, the approaching convoy which comprised of truck loads of armed and stern looking men double crossed us and pulled out two of my drivers dragging them into the bush where they were mercilessly beaten and left with broken skull and bruises.

“When I could not bear it any more, I rushed out of my car barefooted and started shouting: “I am Senator Chris Anynawu please don’t kill my driver, but one of the armed men charged at me and threatened to shoot me for running into the governor’s convoy. All these while, the Governor was seated in his car with the glass wound down and I heard him shout at his security men to disarm my orderlies”.

Mrs. Anywanwu described the Governor’s action as “a misplaced show of power. The power of the state is so enormous and you don’t need to intimidate, harass or kill your people to assert your powers as a governor.

“I am tired of all these abuses and harassment in this state. It is not only in Imo State that they have female legislators. If they could do this to me, what will happen to the ordinary people, this has to stop”.

The governor’s spokesman insisted that Senator Anyanwu breached security, adding that her outburst of anger could have resulted in a heavy casualty if not for the discipline of the governor’s security men who displayed a high sense of decency, professionalism and maturity.

“Surprisingly, Senator Anyanwu, who no doubt knew the convoy was that of the governor of Imo State, alighted from her car and ordered her Naval security personnel to open fire. The Senator slapped both the governor’s Aide Camp and Chief Detail. She also rained abuses on the governor,” Uzoukwa said.

Sources in the state said there had been no love lost between the governor and the senator because of the perceived interest of the senator in contesting for governor.

why should a senator move in a motorcade? And why should a governour even need a motorcade. In my view only the top four need motorcades. The president, vice president, senate president and speaker of the house.

babapupa: Listen to this Olodo. This is a voter approved project that authorized the state to raise bond $10 billion bond money for the project. It was prop 1A and I personality voted for this project. The only federal participation is federal matching fund .

kingingkinging: Sir, I dont know what your academic background is, maybe you are a doctor or an engineer but I am an accountant with special interest in investment (sorry for saying this but it is becoming necessary so as to tell you I know what I am saying). You points above cannot hold water because they are practically and professionally shaky. You mentioned the following- Bad road, Traffic, uneducated workforce, massive insecurity, high corporate tax. Let me now explain to u.

1. Bad road- I dont know if you stay in Lagos but by Nigerian standard, over 70 percent of Lagos metropoly is ok in terms of road some with CCTV camera and street lights, I am not talking about inner roads. This is what an investor wants to see.
2. Traffic is in Lagos during the business hour is very light especially from 9am to 4pm with the help of traffic light it is even non-extent except when there is an accident. So Lagos is not an exception in terms of traffic problem. You can see it in any advanced/populated city. the modus operandi or control is what makes the difference. It gets worse when people close around 5pm to say 8pm, this may not really be a problem for an investor.
3. Uneducated workforce. This is not clear to me. You mean people working in Lagos or working for Lagos? All the lawyers in Lagos, bankers, architects, engineers, etc are still uneducated? I dont know what you are saying here. If it is about tax, you must have heard of State Internal Revenue Service. It is a pure professional work, which all states have theirs. So you can never see an illetrate there except their blue collar workers.
4. Corporate Tax rate. Here you goofed by saying corporate tax is high in Lagos. It shows you dont know much about what you are saying. Corporate tax is purely Fed govt baby, no state charges or collects corprate tax. Federal Inland Revenue Service is purely in charge, so , Lagos is giving FG money through the companies in Lagos. the only revenue accruable to any state including your state and my state is PIT- personal income tax and WHT -withholding tax from individuals(not corporate bodies). The law or ACT was being passed and can only be passed by the Federal govt, signed by the president and gazzeted, so the same tax rate in Lagos is what operates in Bayelsa, Kano, Osun, Ondo,Imo, etc . Lagos just enforces the collection and generates more IGR because they have effective and efficient system more than all other states.

Pls respect LASG for what they do instead of criticizing them. I also want my state to be this efficient.

Why does victoria island, home to many multinationals get flooded at the slightest rain fall? I guess you've forgotten so soon the rainfall of about a year ago when lagos was almost submerged in water and due to the choas the govt. Had to declare a public holiday the following day. Also you i never said lagos did'nt have an educated work force they do. But it's low. And most of them unqualified. Your corporate tax explanation was just all over the place because i need u to explain to me why a city like abia will have the same tax rate as lagos, abuja or port harcourt. Lastly you did'nt address the tout tax collectors who are killing small buisnesses all over the city of lagos.

Furthermore, California is the 7th largest economy in the world and It's already a developed state with over 100 years of development and tens of billions of dollars in yearly budget so its very idiotic to compare both on any level.

Lastly, the speed rail in California is a state project funded with bonds approved and raised by the people of California so get your facts right, you are not talking to mumu.
