Not fair to Chelle, granted Chelle's football isn't pretty on the eyes, but he has managed a messy qualification process for the SE quite well so far, remember he inherited the mess Peseiro and Finidi created yet has put us in a better position to still qualify on Tuesday if the players go for it and just win without drama...our fate now lies in our hands, Chelle has done his best with all he had available.

The maths you should follow is the FIFA qualification rule, if we win on Tuesday (doesn't matter by what scoreline, but safer to be more than 1 goal) we will qualify.

Start Chukwueze, Akor and Osimhen in that game and a 3 man midfield with Ekong on the bench and we win that game by 3-1.

I've never seen a generation of players that have given me more reasons to check my BP, heart rate and mental health than this set, even in the days of Osaze, Obagoal, Mikel Obi, Olofinjana etc when we had our several low moments; we were never this BAD. Tolu Arokodare missed two sitters today, even when the chances are limited you have to take the ones that fall to you- that's what separates elite players who want it more from average players...won't advice we discard him yet, but Tolu has to show more.

Dem carry Northerners pack for team, when we raised our voices about this lopsided preponderance of players from a certain section of the country in the U20 squad list, the "politically correct" apologists came for our necks- now see the result...same nepotism we saw with the CHAN and U17 team. A perfect sample size would have to be the previous successful U17-U20 teams and the regions of the players, the Siasia teams that gave us some fantastic achievements and players at U20 levels easily prove this point.

The uncomfortable truth many Nigerians will have to accept is that the best pool of Nigeria's football talents (going by the precedence of history) have always come from the old Bendel areas (current day Edo and Delta), the South East, some from the the Middle belt Christian areas and then the South West. The core Muslim North have never been known to produce top level athletes for Nigeria, and maybe that has more to do with poor scouting or perhaps the culturally laid-back attitude of the North towards sports.

I can easily predict our starting eleven from this squad list.. it's likely going to be 4-4-2 with Iwobi paired with Ndidi in midfield, hence limiting him.

Chelle is clearly desperate and out of his depth, it appears the small glimmer of lifeline FIFA gave us from those points deduction from SA has made him decide to go all out and play attacking football with a predictable 442 formation, it will be route one football. The only problem is that asking Ndidi to play as a lone #6 will come back to bite us (as it has proven to be the case time and time again), Ndidi’s legs are gone and Lesotho and especially Benin republic will capitalize on our lean midfield to cause problems. Iwobi won't provide creativity from that midfield as he's best suited as a winger where he excels for Fulham.

Based on this squad, I'll just go with a 433 formation, Onyeka/Alhassan and Chukwueze would have to anchor that midfied, play Onyeka and Onyeka to protect the back 4 while Chukwueze can be deployed as a CAM and given a creative role with his dribbling abilities and ability to run at the opps defense...Iwobi will either be benched or played from the wing.

Did Chelle smoke something before releasing that squad? Why invite only 4 midfielders with no bone of creativity between them outside of Iwobi (who isn't consistent anymore?), omo i give up abeg

The real problem of this team is purely down to tactical issues; once again an evidence of very poor coaching). The sort of goal scoring chances Ariehi missed would make you wonder if this lad is supposed to be the next heir to Osimhen as touted? very poor, the defending was so school-boy level and comical, surely Bameyi must have a football godfather in the NFF...football isn't hard, stick to the basics and fundamentals and you will be largely fine.

But the current state of Nigerian football isnt anything to inspire confidence right now, we need an urgent administrative overhaul. The likes of Morocco, South Africa, Senegal etc look to be on an upward trajectory in their football development, Morocco in particular are really on a high wave right now, all their best foreign born talents are proudly representing them at all levels; while ours are avoiding us...truly sad state. If this current Super Eagles fail to qualify for the world cup even with the little glimmer of hope FIFA gave us, then we should ban football in Nigeria for some years and use the time off to do some thorough introspection and clean house from top to bottom.

If East can be next then they would have entered through Benue and Kogi. Anambra and Enugu share boundary with Kogi while Enugu and Ebonyi share boundary with Benue.

If East is soft target, they would have entered through Benue because they have not done half of what they did in Benue at Kwara state.

They've tried to penetrate the East especially through those volatile and remote areas in Enugu and Ebonyi that share boundaries with bandit ravaged states like Benue and Kogi...which explains why places like Uzo-Uwani and Eha amufu were constantly attacked by herdsmen and people killed for years.
