Nigerians were filmed today struggling to scoop fuel from a broken down fuel tanker in Kogi state just one day after a fuel tanker exploded on Otedola bridge along Lagos-Ibadan expressway, killing scores.

The fuel laden tanker broke down somewhere in Irapana community in Kogi state and residents ran for their buckets and kegs to scoop fuel, not minding that an explosion can occur at anytime.

Suspected members of a notorious confraternity have been carrying on nefarious acts against the innocent students living around the Alakahia village of Port Hacourt. The cultists have devised a means of intimidating the lodge occupants and looting away with valuables. Due to the poor security settings of this remote region, which is close to the University Of Port Hacourt back gate entrance.

In three major incidents, these cultists have made their way into one of the lodges, broke into one of the occupants room and threatened him with guns and other weapons, they now manipulated the occupant into knocking on other inmates door with the pretense that he wants to see them, on opening the door, the robbers storm into the room and beat up whoever is in there and take all available valuables. The unsuspecting inmates would open the door thinking its their friend, not knowing that the robbers are hidden behind. They use cutlasses and sticks to beat up the inmates as they loot any valuable around.

This schemes have been employed to rob some lodges like Philomena Lodge, Ave Maria Hostel and many other student lodges in the Alakahia axis. This has created a state of unrest and trauma among students. The police don't seem to be interested in such case.

We call on the appropriate authorities to interfere and resolve this issue.

I have never supported the dullard from Daura, but this time around the lawmakers went too far, they do not have any right to add anything to that budget, their job is to vet not to draft a budget. Drafting a budget remains an exclusive job of the executive.

An acclaimed Pastor of the Celestine Church, Ozuri, Adavi Local government area of Kogi State, Mr Shegun has been arrested for allegedly killing one sex hawker from a popular Hotel called Hollywood in Adavi LGA, a Benue citizen for a ritual purposes.

The pastor was apprehended alongside his accomplice, Mr Mike And Stephen, who claimed to be his boys and church members Earlier hours of today, LGA D.P.O of Police led the Administrator, Hon Joseph Omuya Salami, accompanied with some of his political appointees, the Media team and the APC Campaign chairman in Adavi LGA, Hon. Osundo to the crime scene, saying the suspect beheaded the victim, severed the hand, leg as well as the head and buried the decapitated body some where closed to his church.

When the Administrator and the D.P.O as well as his entourage got to the scene at Ozuri community, Hundreds of residents of the area trooped out to catch a glance of the incident .

The Administrator of Adavi LG, Hon Joseph Omuya Salami, described the act as the highest lever of wickedness, stressing that "man killing man" is an abomination, said ritual killing is in non biblical, unacceptable and should be totally condemned, and anyone that involved in such act must pay the price by law, he added.

He further lauded the effort of the D.P.O and the security agencies of the state ,for the efforts they have put to apprehend the suspects.

The South East Senate Caucus has expressed shock over reported cut in the 2018 budget allocation for the Enugu Airport Terminal.

The Chairman of the caucus, Sen. Enyinnaya Abaribe, and lawmakers from the region said they learnt
that an allocation of N2 billion sustained by the two aviation committees of the Senate and House of Representatives, were said to have been slashed to N500 million.

He said that the caucus had summoned an emergency meeting of South East lawmakers to unravel when the cut was effected and by who.

He added that “no right thinking Igbo man would support any cut on allocation for projects in the South East region.”

Abaribe, who said that the budget documents were verifiable, noted that “we are committed and determined to find out who made the cut.”

He said that the caucus actually lobbied for the Enugu Airport Terminal allocation to be increased
to N3.5 billion until the Ministry of Aviation told members of the caucus that what they had was an envelope which could not be increased beyond the N2 billion allocation.

Abaribe, who is also the Chairman, Senate Committee on Power, Steel Development and Metallurgy, noted that N30 billion was smuggled into the power budget without his committee’s knowledge.

He said that the N30 billion was listed for expansion and re-enforcement of infrastructure in the distribution companies to reduce stranded firms.

He added that “the amount never passed through the Senate Power committee.

“Where did such huge sum of N30 billion come from.

“Let the budget office and other relevant bodies conduct self examination. Such self examination will go a long way to clear gray areas.”

He explained that “in the case of the Enugu Airport Terminal and the Second Niger Bridge, we want to find out at what point the cut was made.”

The Centre for Anti-Corruption and Open Leadership, CACOL, has called on former First Lady, Patience Jonathan to come clean on the issue of her alleged corrupt enrichment.

CACOL made the call while lambasting a group of Niger Delta women who staged a solidarity march for Patience in Port-Harcourt yesterday.

The march involved hundreds of women in the state, who marched to the Rivers State Government house and was led by one Mrs Eunice Igwe over what they referred to as constant harassment of the former first lady.

In a press release signed and forwarded to DAILY POST by CACOL’s Executive Chairman, Debo Adeniran, the group insisted that the former First Lady must tell Nigerians and the entire world how she gathered her wealth.

CACOL said, “We as a centre that is totally opposed to corruption at any level of government and by any government official, no matter how highly placed or influential have always challenged the former first lady to come clean on the issue of her alleged corrupt enrichment.

“She owes Nigerians and the entire civilized world an explanation on:How she was able to build a hotel in Yenogoa, worth over N10b; how she earned over $20m and several other huge sums of money found in different bank accounts linked to her. Her explanation is necessary because wecan recall that she was just a career civil servant under theBayelsa state government while her husband held sway as the nation’s President.

“CACOL’s stand remains that for Corruption to be finally uprooted from our national life, no effort must be spared in the bid to recoup stolen wealth that has left most Nigerians pauperized and frustrated, no matter whose ox is gored. It is for this reason we are not only decrying a situation whereby those who siphoned our commonwealth directly or through proxy would arrange a rented crowd or blackmail the nation by calling on the Presidency and the International community to intervene or leash the EFCC from carrying the fight against corruption to its logical conclusion.

School Feeding Programme: Over 8.2M Pupils Now Being Fed In 24 States

*Over 80,000 cooks engaged in 45,394 schools


Following the achievement of its target of 5.5 million pupils being fed free daily under the programme in 2017, the Buhari administration’s National Home-grown School Feeding Programme (NHGSFP) now feeds 8,260,984 pupils in 45,394 public primary schools across 24 states.

The 24 states currently benefitting from the school feeding programme are Anambra, Enugu, Oyo, Osun, Ogun, Ebonyi, Zamfara, Delta, Abia, Benue, Plateau, Bauchi, Taraba, Kaduna, Akwa-Ibom, Cross River, Imo, Jigawa, Niger, Kano, Katsina, Gombe, Ondo and Borno.

Similarly, over 80,000 direct jobs have since been created from the School Feeding Programme; with 87,261 cooks currently engaged in the 24 participating states. All 36 states of the Federation and the FCT will eventually benefit from the programme.

The programme’s educational, economic and health benefits have been praised by many.

Not only has the Buhari administration’s School Feeding Programme created jobs for thousands of Nigerians in these communities where the programme is being implemented, it has also helped to boost local economies by linking the local farmers to the school feeding market.

Similarly, the school feeding programme continues to record significant milestones in the classrooms as the scheme has led to an increase in enrolment.

Another important aspect of the School Feeding Programme is that by providing a meal a day for millions of pupils, it addresses the issues of malnutrition and stunting among children, increasing the chances of the pupils making a significant headway in their learning and in life.

The NHGSFP plans to implement feeding in 28 States in the coming months, and all over the country soon after.

I am a medical practitioner by profession and currently engaged in a private practice somewhere in middlebelt of Nigeria.

I'm just 2 months to this job and since I came I noticed the rship between my boss who's married, also a medical practitioner with a lab technician who runs test for us.

Basically my problem is not with their intimidate rship of which I'm certain of since I have seen him severally in the girl's apartment but with the girls arrogance to work bc of the fact that nothing can be done to her.

Most times I will request for a lab investigation for an emergency case but she will never do them.. we sometime lost a patient who needed blood but was refused blood because this girl hoard the blood only for us to discover later there was blood in the refrigerator.
problem is not only the misbehavior but for the fact that my boss knows all these but can't call her to order.. I learnt the girl has been like that even before I came. but I'm finding it difficult to work in this kind of environment

what do I really have to do?? but don't suggest I quit bc I am also running something here concurrently

There was a Commotion at Lekki Palm City Estate, Ajah after some Soldiers Mercilessly Brutalized Tenants living in the Estate, for asking the Landlord one man named Majuka Nnamdi Emmanuel (Pictured below) to refund their Money.

It all started after Armed robbers attacked the compound, and carted away with valuables Just days after they moved in, Then one of the tenant who became scared for his life demanded that the N1.3million he paid for the house rent be refunded back to him.

But the Landlord Majuka refused and said that he can only refund the money only if Someone pays for the house.

Argument erupted as other tenants joined to ask for their money, Thinking that the issue will be resolved amicably, The Landlord bounced in the compound with some hefty soldiers this morning and woke the tenants up with Heavy Flogging.

They were beaten to the extent One of them even fainted and was rushed to a nearby Hospital, thats when the Soldiers stopped..

More revelations have continued to trail an undercover investigation by the British Broadcasting Corporation on the codeine epidemic in Nigeria.

According to a research work carried out by the Development Initiative of West Africa (DIWA), 30,000 bottles of cough syrups containing codeine are consumed in Niger State daily.

The initiative further disclosed that 3 million bottles of the product are consumed across the nation on a daily basis.


Speaking at a quarterly DIWA awareness programme on the codeine menace, the Niger State DIWA boss, Mallam Musa Mohammed El-Sani, decried the high rate of consumption of the product by women and young people in the state.

The Nation quoted him as saying that the abusers’ addiction to codeine is harmful to their body and brain.


He said the alarming rate of addiction to codeine, which addicts consume to get high, is responsible for the increase in social vices and crimes such as kidnapping, raping, terrorism and killings in the country.

He commended the Federal Government for the ban on the substance and called for better monitoring of the black market, saying trading in the substance was still booming there.
