Apex Igbo socio cultural organisation, Ohanaeze Ndigbo yesterday descended on the Spiritual Director of Adoration Ministry, Enugu, Rev. Fr. Ejike Mbaka over his New Year prophecy that President Buhari’s life is in danger, saying the Catholic priest has become a distraction in the Nigerian polity. President of Ohanaeze Ndigbo, Anambra State and the coordinating Chairman of Ohanaeze in the seven Igbo speaking states, Elder Chris Eluemunor at a media briefing yesterday, in Awka, said contrary to Fr. Mbaka’s prophecy, President Buhari, as the Commander-in-Chief was in safe hands. He said Buhari was doing a good work by fighting corruption while Ohanaeze fully supports his anti graft war. “Fr. Mbaka should really shut up and preach the word of God which he was ordained to do than raising unnecessary alarm and creating panic in the country. Even if a revelation was given to him, he should keep it to himself and pray over it. Fr Mbaka’s statement is a distraction to what the President is doing and he should stop the kind of alarm he is raising in the country.” The Ohanaeze boss said Nigerians should realise that it was no longer business as usual in the country and expressed optimism that with the way Mr. President was going, sanity will soon return to the country resulting in financial probity and restoration in the decline of economic fortunes. Ohanaeze also cautioned the President to ensure that the anti-corruption crusade should have human face and also fought within the ambit of the law. On the issue of the struggle and protests by the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Eluemunor said Ohanaeze is satisfied with the discontinuation of further protests and violent struggle by the group. He said that Ohanaeze is commending members of the group for their attitude so far and revealed that there is an ongoing dialogue with the Presidency over the continued detention of Nnamdi Kalu among other issues while there are strong indications that something positive is in the offing soonest. He disclosed that there are promises that issues of marginalization of the south east will be addressed by the present government during the implementation of the 2016 budget. He predicted that Nnamdi Kalu will be released soon to Igbo elders while he admonished that the IPOB and other pro Biafra groups to function as pressure groups in the country and not organizations seeking for a separate or secessionist target. He said that Ndigbo are not ready for separation yet as the Igbo man continues to invest in other parts of the country. Ohanaeze also called for federal government support to the Enugu Electricity Distribution Company (EEDC) for the benefit of the South East noting that the electricity distribution company is the Igbo share from the unbundled Power Holding Company of Nigeria (PHCN). He called for the reconciliation of the conflict between the EEDC and another private power generating firm in Abia state so that the people of Aba will not continue to suffer energy crisis. http://sunnewsonline.com/new/ohanaeze-bombs-fr-mbaka/ |

Lolzzzzz .....time has a way of telling us what matters in life and what we can't wish away. |
Kkkk.....wrong target selection! Last time I checked, as a Nigerian you have the right to travel to any part of the country, without fear of molestation. By the way, do you think BH elements will migrate as a group and with locally made guns, which I believed they are meant for hunting ? These guys are much more intelligent than you could ever thought. Tagging them BH in d first place shows how informed our Police service is. |
North Korea’s UN mission claimed Wednesday that its successful nuclear bomb test showed that it could now “wipe out” the United States, as the U.N. Security Council grappled with a response to the underground blast. North Korea called it a hydrogen bomb and said the test “scientifically proved the power of the smaller H-bomb,” though the United States and others expressed skepticism that Pyongyang actually tested a hydrogen bomb for the first time. Nonetheless, whatever the North detonated underground will likely push the country closer toward a fully functional nuclear arsenal, which it still is not thought to have. A Security Council diplomat said Wednesday that the U.N.’s most powerful body is working on a resolution that imposes tougher sanctions on North Korea to reflect the claim that it tested a more powerful hydrogen bomb, which is “a step change” from its three previous atomic test. The diplomat, speaking on condition of anonymity because consultations have been private, said all 15 council members agree that North Korea should be denuclearized, and this will be reflected in a new resolution. North Korea’s U.N. mission circulated a report from the country’s news agency saying the Jan. 6 test wasn’t to “threaten” or “provoke” anyone but was indispensable to build a nuclear force “to cope with the U.S. ever-more undisguised hostile policy” toward the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea, the country’s official name. It said North Korean scientists and technicians “are in high spirit to detonate H-bombs … capable of wiping out the whole territory of the U.S. all at once as it persistently moves to stifle the DPRK.” Former Los Alamos National Laboratory director Siegfried Hecker, one of the world’s top experts on North Korea’s nuclear program, said last week he did not believe it tested “a real hydrogen bomb,” and that “North Korea is still a long way off from being able to strike the U.S. mainland.” But Hecker, who has visited the North seven times since 2004, said in an interview with Stanford University’s Center for International Security and Cooperation, that the most worrisome result of the test is that North Korea “will have achieved greater sophistication in their bomb design.” He added that “at this point, what makes their nuclear arsenal more dangerous is not so much explosive power of the bomb, but its size, weight and the ability to deliver it with missiles.” There was no immediate response to a request for comment from the U.S. mission to the United Nations. The Security Council last approved sanctions against North Korea three weeks after its third nuclear test on Feb. 12, 2013. That resolution was largely negotiated by the United States and China, North Korea’s traditional ally. South Korea’s President Park Geun-hye called Wednesday for Chinese help to launch what she calls the “strongest” international sanctions on North Korea over the nuclear test. The council diplomat said the United States, which is leading the current negotiations, is consulting closely with China but also with other council members, including Japan. The diplomat said a new resolution isn’t expected immediately, likely not in less than three weeks. http://www.pmnewsnigeria.com/2016/01/14/our-nuclear-bomb-could-wipe-out-us-north-korea/ |
