The clash appears to me as more of an inter-sectarian war between the Sunni-Shia Muslims. However, in as much as am not justifying alleged act of lawlessness by the Shiites , killing one's citizens under any guise is not just callous but also irresponsible and capable of sliding the country into a more precarious situation worse than the ongoing war against Boko haram insurgency in the North/Eastern part of the country.
