Programming › Re: Can I Still Learn Programming At My Age? by talk2hb1(m): 5:45pm On Dec 03, 2019 |
LoyalRccgMember: Hey guys, I'm 20 turning 21 next year. So, I'm interested in programming. Game and android programming specifically. For game programming, I know there's C++ (Unreal engine) and C# (unity engine) involved. As for android, I think it's java right? My question is, which language can I start with? I have a core I5 HP laptop which I just use to play games and watch movies lol. Though I've been learning graphics design lately (Corel draw and Photoshop). Please if it's possible for me to learn programming, I'll be grateful if someone could help me with the names of the softwares I might need in running the codes also, online sites to learn programming will be very helpful. Thank you all in advance So whats the correlation between Yoyr age and learning to program? You want chop cain abi? I started learning programming at 30 (will be clocking 35 next year), I code in 4 languages (Java, C#, JavaScript, Php). If you need to learn to program Age is not enough excuse. Eskis sah, step one go and buy learner Tag (Written in Uppercase) and wear round your neighborhood for two weeks, then come back here for more instructions. |

Silas6: I have being hearing this and of recent I have also started noticing that programmers don't seem to have time for themselves or their family not even friends. Someone even told me that coding is programmers girlfriend that they have time for nothing else. What is your opinion on this? Pls programmers in the house we need your response so that we the aspirants will be aware. Lie, Big Lie, Giant Lie!!! We have time for Families and Friends it's just they want more time which makes it seems developers don't have much time for them. I dedicate this reply To Those Developers whose girlfriend has left because they they are not serious despite you show her all the love of your source code. |

Ausrichie: Not possible in Nigeria but if you can prove yourself in another country (outside Africa of course) through conferences or competitions or seminars then you can actually get one. Lie, Big Lie, Monster Giant Lie. Logoking: Good afternoon everyone.for a while now have been wondering if it is possible for a self taught programmer to be employed in a I.T company or any other company that need the services of a programmer. One of the reason why am asking this question is because i am a boy whose mother can't afford to send him to a university,i don't fault her because she has five children and so its been difficult raising all of us without my late dad. So is it possible to be employed as a self taught programmer (especially in Nigeria). You can always get a job without certificate, just build your portfolio and resume! |

stanliwise: It's rare for one to see women doing programming. In my past experiences, most girls just waste me time, they just wanna know what it contains and after that, they run as fast as they can, this same goes for many of my guys also. But to be sincere I am culprit of this but if I notice the girl has been really doing it herself or she is the really serious type. Meaning she has invested resources and against all my initial unseriousness she still kept coming, I will respect her and give her my time. Wa Gbayi Alayemi What I devise was I will give you an assignment if you can solve it, then you are willing, but if you come back complaining. I guess you are not the learning type, because most programmer I know just have initiative and willingness to learn no matter how small it is. |

quexhub: this is so so frustrating and is making me to look depressed, when i finished my NYSC i had no job for two to three years thou i am a makeup artiste, but the job was not giving me what i want, because it wasn't constant, i met a guy and asked him whether if he can help me teach me about website, fortunately he voluteered and decide to teach me,the first thing i learnt was on how to design a website using wordpress, then jombla, using css, html, then i was designing a website for people, organization, because i studied computer science in school, i always like developing myself with any new idea that i feel like i can learn, to cut it short i just need someone who will answer this question for me, is it a crime for one to be passionate about what he/she loves. I couldn't make sense of looking down on women in this post |
