PoliticsRe: Merger Talks Tear CPC Apart (pic) by talktimi(m): 1:18pm On Dec 30, 2012
Buhari na bad market as far as Nigerian politics is concerned especially as he plans to rule this great nation. I would rather advice him to nominate someone more youthful and dynamic for the 2015 presidential elections than for him to drag the CPC or any merged party back with his guaranteed failure at the polls and subsequent rigmarolling for years at election petitition tribunals.
The ACN is already prepping Fashola for 2015 (as VP whether anybody likes it or not) it would be unfair and unwise to make him serve under someone old enough to be his grandfather/ancestor grin. That's if the merged parties win the presidency in 2015 sha, people make your votes count pls.
PoliticsRe: Merger Talks Tear CPC Apart (pic) by talktimi(m): 11:39am On Dec 30, 2012
CPC is a confused party, they practically killed themselves in the 2011 elections and yet cried wolf for their self inflicted problems.
How do you intend to rule this country with only Northern votes, you don't even bother to campaign in other parts of the country yet you want to rule evrybody ? Silly. If the CPC kne their onions, how many core Northern states did they win in the last governorship elections ? I dey laugh
The CPC should better BEG Tinubu and the ACN for this merger to work so that they can have a slightly national spread if not they will be amongst the parties that INEC will have to de register. Nigeria has passed the stage of tribal politics and elections are becoming more transparent that's how our comerade governor got into power in Edo state a supposedly PDP stronghold while the PDP was able to win some LG seats in Lagos state.
CPC should stop their tribal politics if they want to be accepted by Nigerians.

For security reasons peculiar to this country, convoy especially those conveying political appointees are meant to be on high speed but personally I don't think it makes sense driving at such crazy speeds especially with unstable vehicles like SUV's, sedans and sports cars are designed for such speeding purposes. I remember last year when I was invited to join a former governor's convoy to inspect some projects nobody told me before I pulled out of the convoy when my honda pilot started weaving. If we had good roads in this country, most people wldnt need SUV's which as I state again are highly unreliable at breakneck speeds.

seunajia: I'm not Fashola's P.R.O and thus there is little I can/should say in his stead. You know its possible you have been walking around without your eyes or probably your brain is not sophisticated enough to process what your eye "sees". Get help bro.

If "street cred" is chop and clean mouth, I want to have none of it. I don't hate you, I hate to be in my car and see beggars all over, I hate to see unemployed youths roaming the streets, I hate the sound of generators, I hate driving on bad roads, I hate nepotism, I hate corruption, I hate injustice, I hate hypocrisy.

You keep assuming, a thief has no respect and deserves none. A man that feeds #1billion/year deserves no respect, a man that approves a building, a building for #19billion in the midst of all the austerity deserves to be dragged in the streets. I can go on and on.
. I repeat from the onset I never said Fashola isn't working if you read my last comment it is stated clearly there so your idea of me walking around with my eyes closed or not having a sophisticated brain, well as I've said before your insulting me won't affect me in a positive or negative way.
Maybe your idea of getting jobs/contracts is 'chop and clean mouth' that has never been my style and I won't start now. I am not ashamed to go outside looking for my daily bread instead of sitting down in the house waiting for non existent jobs from our already over saturated labour market. I won't apologize for that in fact I'm praying for even better opportunities to expand.
As per your hatred ofthe sorry state of our society, we are on the same page on that subject and it is our duty as citizens of this country to make things better in our own little way wherever possible not just waiting for the govt at any level all the time but the little we can do to teach our fellow youths how to fish and fend for themselves. Thank you

seunajia: You are not my moral compass. If anyone should counsel anyone, the moment you typed that isht you typed, you lost that right. You're asking us to discard objectivity and agree with you that Fashola has not done anything at-all, NO? I shouldn't even be discussing with you, with the perfidy you have exhibited.

If the Nigerian youths were not as docile as they are now, you and the nepostic idi.ots awarding contracts-- which you may not deserve --to you would be in jail.
. Number one I have never said Fashola didn't do anything in Lagos state, I am a born and bred Surulere guy and I know how Lagos was while growing up and I know how it is now as for your aspect of me being in jail by now because of the supply contracts I managed to get, I doubt your street credibility in Lagos because one thing I was taught while growing up in Aguda was how to be independent so in the worst case scenario, you might actually be a mummy's boy eating daddy's money which makes you hate those that learnt the ropes the hard way so I won't apologise to you for any reason whatsoever.
It seems the main reason why you hate and insult me the way you do is because I asked you to stop insulting your elders and those in authority I don't think that's a bad advice because even your pastor/imam would say the same thing. I owe you no apology and as I've said earlier I won't tell you not to insult me as your doing so won't affect me either positively or negatively I only ask that we have matured arguments on this thread without invectives.
PoliticsRe: The Truth About Fashola's Success by talktimi(m): 8:37pm On Dec 26, 2012
sshalom: This is a heated and well debated thread I must admit. For anyone who cares to know; Fashola has done more in terms of health care than most. I had a first hand experience of his determination to improve that sector when my wife had our second child at the ISOLO General Hospital. At the time of her delivery, the new hospital was being finished. By the time I drove her there after two months, the massive edifice was ready and fully equipped.

I was taken aback by the quality of the work, facilities and the sheer magnitude of equipments on display. I was forced to ask a senior nurse who works there to confirm whether the Governor actually started the project or if it dated back to days of former Governor Bola Tinubu and she confirmed that it was Fashola that started and completed it.

One could also go to Gbagada, Surulere and Ayinke House to see major projects in this regards.

Now the question that should bother all of us is: Has he done enough to justify the resources at his disposal? While the jury is out on this, my take is that he is doing his best. We should however not shy away from raising questions on the performances or otherwise of our leaders. This is the only way we can keep them on their toes!
Oga thank you very much I like your objectivity although my own argument on this thread is that Fashola is over hyped but I can never say he didn't work at all, this is a thread that needs objective arguments like yours without invectives.

Nigeria is a rich jungle that wants to help its people but the leaders are not only enriching the rich there killing the poor and this heartless cun.t badluck places subsidies on oil prices when things were not already bad enough. you want evidence have you seen the news headline 5 trillion stole under jonathan have you seen the removal of the subsidies have you seen the Niger delta where the people live in the gutter the place where that bast ard is from his own people from his own state his own village are suffering.

you are evil and heartless so what if your little useless company got contracts is that going to help everyone you really have put in and angry mood >:
let me stop before I insult you.
grin I'm in a quagmire here as I don't know whether to keep silent or join you in your gutter. But you're very funny sha, its obvious you were not properly brought up by your parents hence your lack of respect for elders and those in authority its also obvious that your educational foundation is very poor hence your bad placement of words and malapropism making it slightly difficult to understand your rantings. I can't tell you not to insult me as its entirely up to you to do what you will I only asked that you show some modicum of respect for those in authority.

pheesayor: I was in akwaibom for a Conference in July and the deputy governor was there baosting that there's no single lot hole in the whole of Uyo, I told someone that 'take the population of Lagos, human and vehicular to akwaibom and watch those infrastructures crumble in a few months'. I've said that here before.

Never ever compare Lagos with akwaibom, except you take the population into consideration.
. Point taken but you seem not to understand where I'm coming from. I'm not comparing the state of roads btw the two states, I said Akpabio is also a performer compared with Victor Attah the former governor who performed miserably in Akwa Ibom. So Akpabio should be on the same par with Fashola if not higher because of the humongous task he met and the fact that he had to practically build the state capital for example from scratch but you've made your point. Thank you

Serendipity: The girl is fly.
But in the interview below:
http://thenetng.com/2012/05/exclusive-genevieve’s-daughter-unveiled/
It was stated categorically that Genny had a daughter already in her twenties and a corper at the time the tidings were reported. They said she is called CHIMEBUKA.
I doubted the authenticity of the above report, because it was nigh impossible for her to have given birth to someone of that age.

THE PRESENT REPORT DOESN'T TALLY WITH THE INITIAL ONE.
Some say her daughter is 16 and in the UK, yada yada yada.
So I have qualms and misgivings as to its veracity too, having heard a lot of fabricated bunch of gibberish before.
Genevieve got pregnant while in secondary sch 'Methodist girls high school' yaba Lagos I think 96/97 it caused quite a bit of a scandal then. I knw because my elder sister finished from the school and Gennie was a class above her. Shortly after that stress she went into acting and God has blessed her talents.

seunajia: The OP is sick, I'm sorry I don't apologise for telling it as it is, this is being plain.

I don't care what your party affiliation is, what tribe you belong to, your religion, your conscience, whatever. But I know your modus operandi; you trade in deception. I have been here long enough to know you and your ilk.

I did not vote Fashola in 2007, I instead voted Jimi Agbaje not only because he had a track-record, showed sparks and spoke intelligently, but because Tinubu was to impose Fashola, because Fashola was relatively unknown, because I wanted something pristine, something away from the status-quo.

He came and showed his mettle. It smacks of tomfoolery to say he has done nothing, Lagosians know and testify. Fashola is by far the best administrator we have in now. I do not need to harp on his achievements, the sincere know.

Albeit, Fashola shouldn't be our performance ceiling. Enough of this mediocre crap in this country! That aside, I have my grudges against him.

1. The traffic law (Okada restriction), however NECESSARY is ill-timed. He should have upped the BRT alittle bit before implementing it.

2. The Lekki-Epe expressway toll project is expensive and he knows it. The supporters of the project would say the private investors need to repay loans. Why is it a PPP in the first place, if the government won't hold stead for us? There other ways of financing the project, alas subtle ways e.g indirect tax on drivers license, fixed temporal increment on tax paid by residents etc.

3. The influence of Bola Tinubu on him is overwhelmingly annoying. Tinubu's ways brings him no favours. He needs to wriggle-off Tinubu.

The Okada restriction, his "go back to your village" talks and his PERCEIVED presidential ambition is the why we are having this discussion, not necessarily because the OP is concerned.

On the issue of presidency, AFAIC, he's the best the SW can present. And I still maintain he is not ripe, unless maybe when he forms an alliance with Ribadu or Buhari.

Oshiomole should go in Edo, his time will come. Quit mentioning Rochas, he has absolutely NOTHING to offer. Go to Owerri, go to Oguta, go to ideato, Orlu, Mgbidi, the guy is a joke. Akapbio? I don't know him, maybe if we see his work, he also needs to bring a formidable running mate.
Jonathan again? Hell no! He shouldn't be there in the first place, he was deputy to Alams, he later became governor, what did he achieve? He has been there since Yaradua died, what has he done? Apart from consistently breaking his own record of being the most corrupt president in our history. EDUCATION? NNPC? POWER? HEALTH? TRANSPORTATION? SECURITY? What has he done?! I am ashamed someone so useless as GEJ is my president.

For those of you that think he's slow, he's not slow, he is the DEVIL. Conning, wicked, corrupt ba.stard. He called Azazi uncle, but killed him! He worships satan and revels in alcoholism. He claims to know BH but has not moved them. But Fashola is the talk here today.

In summary the OP is on a smear campaign. His claims make this apparent. The good people of Lagos state should continue to "berate" Fashola, if necessary, to keep him on his toes. Million Naira question, who is going to succeed Fashola?
first of all you were making good points but I'm surprised at the level of immaturity you decided to delve into, really shocking. In all arguments it is always important to have empirical evidence of all statements made so as not to be called a liar or even sued for libel as the case may be. Besides I have this unshakable belief that if you were one on one with the president now, you would never insult him so let's keep things straight here.
You called GEJ a devil, conning wicked and corrupt basta.rd who revels in alcoholism and also accused your president of killing general Azazi. If you are called to a court of law, will you be able to defend your statements ? I agree you are bitter with the president but that doesn't mean you'll heap unfounded allegations on him. You also claimed gej didn't do anything as dep governor and governor of Bayelsa state WOW. As dep gov maybe he did nothing but as governor he really worked well in the short period of time he was in office I know that because my little company got some supply contracts in the state making me actively involved in both private and government contracts. All I'm asking for is please argue with verifiable claims and have a little courtesy for the office of the president if for nothing but the fact that he's old enough to be your father/uncle. Thanks alot

It's far worse than u're thinking...trying to soil another man's good work (even when u'll admit in ur closet that he's d best) is like calling for a contest between u and God and I'm not interested in watching the match. Of course the result is obvious...u're a waste!
well it is a fact that 788 doctors were sacked in a swoop by gov fashola and also LASU fees were increased by over 1000%. I'm not saying Fashola didn't work in Lagos since there's a complete difference btw his impact and Tinubu's administration, all I'm saying is that the lagos state governor is just over hyped when you compare with states like Niger or Akwa Ibom. Its just my opinion based on facts and pls stop the insults to others on NL and the blasphemy here. Thank you

Please and please I'm begging you all NL is a place where people are to have interesting conversations and FUN not to be insulted because of the tribe they were born into.
Secondly, from OBJ's tenure till now I have noticed that Nigerians have formed the nasty habit of actually INSULTING their president instead of constructively CRITICIZING selected policies he makes. It shows a crass lack of moral upbringing on the parents side. Please let's respect ourselves here.

ballabriggs: I am not from Lagos and I am not a yoruba man so please stick that your tribalism yarn away abeg. What I want is to reduce the pressure on Lagos.

The more Lagos does, the more problem it gets. Why? Because as it improves social infrastructure, more and more people flood into the state in search of that which is not available elsewhere.

Roads in the SS and SE are nothing to write home about. Why? Because Jona and Ngozi dey chop N5 trillion.
from your comments so far, its obvious you're a tribalist or at the least you have a very poor opinion of people from otueke or ogwashi uku.
I can't say anything about your intelligence but your maturity level is also in question because proper arguments in a public forum such as this demands that you have respect for peoples you might come across instead of using derogatory languages on their places of origin and argue with proper facts that can stand up to proper verification eg when you say roads in the SS and SE are bad because Jona and Ngozi dey chop N5 trillion that really even puts your intelligence into some doubt. So please let's keep it clean here and stop the mud slinging.

anytime a leader in North fvk up, Hausas cover him up and treat him with patriotism.

when Igbo leaders go looney and do opposite what people want, yanmiri start venting anger meant for this leader on Lagos and its governors instead.
for example, Obi said ndigbos are too difficult to govern.

if that was their governor yoruba would have attacked obi for his statement. hausa will use it in friday sermon and preach to people to respect leaders.
what would igbo do? they are upset but would not say anything about obi, instead they will start complaining about lekki toll gate, about motor park fees at mile 2, about tinubu mansion at ikoyi.

....fvkd up baboons! angry

That said, I blame the LASG for demolishing during their service, they could have least waited till next year after january. The govt also needs to do something about these omo-onile boys especially in the Lekki-Ajah axis, they have duped too many people for too too long.

As an Igbo living in the Southeast, I appreciate his efforts in Lagos State to make things better for business (better roads, better public transportation, more areas to do business) and I think most Igbos and indeed Nigerians regardless of ethnicity would want that.

Fashola is by far the best governor that we have here in Nigeria. May he succeed in Lagos, and may he bring that success to all of Nigeria!

Jonathan worked very well in Bayelsa state but you don't just come into power in Nigeria when the North thinks its still their turn and have a peaceful reign especially if fuel marketers and subsidy theives are at your throat. Then you mix in a corrupt legislature and a very powerful governors forum. Even Buhari will get weak at the knees at this prospect considering the fact that he needed Idiagbon to do the dirty jobs for him back in the early 80's. This Fashola ticket will be hard to sell, we all saw people protesting angrily after the last lg elections in lagos saying they didn't vote acn but pdp instead not to mention the fact most people outside the south west see the acn as a tribalistic party a problem the acn caused for themselves bringing ethnic sentiments into politics.
