What many of these internet activists especially on nairaland and twitter don't know is that its very difficult to govern/preside over a nation (in this case) when crisis like perpetual bomb blasts and assasinations we're facing now are the order of the day. I guess these political jingoists will never knw because they've never held a position of power/authority before and even if they do, they won't last long on seat.
Gen Obasanjo proposed the Odi treatment on these boko haram gangsters which is to send in the military to bombard any community harboring them, in my opinion, the general is simply being mischievious with his advice because any such action will escalate into a north/south war fast which most Nigerians shouting FIGHT now are not ready for talk less of our west african sub region. The best action Jonathan would have taken is the present one he's on now which is a gradual cutting off of the militants and their spear heads. The sponsors shall be exposed and dealt with in due course. Remember Nigeria is a highly ethnic and tribalistic country that is bound together only by petro dollars.
Apart from that anyone who says PDP hasn't done anything positive for Nigeria should start by looking at their handsets. Elections are rigged across all parties if not why did Lagosians go up in protest when the ACN rigged PDP seats last lg elections in Lagos ? No saint in Naija politics

ocelot2006: Bros, READ MY PREVIOUS POSTS. Didn't I say that those militants were seriously involved in smuggling in old Soviet surplus firearms, including weapons like the PKM and PKP pecheneg? Of course they did. But that said, those militants were also able to lay their hands on a number of govt issue weapons. That's the sad truth.
you're right on all points but the aspect whr they said militants got their weapons from jaji is very laughable, I don't know what people take the Nigerian army for in this country, no matter your high ranking in the army it is easier to import arms through the sea ports than from any military formation. Any army weapon you saw with these militants were most likely gotten from attacks on gunboats and other military patrols. Pls let's not downgrade our soldier abeg.

CFCfan: Tinubu has d potential to be the best President in Naija's history. He would only have to jettison conventional wisdom and pick one of Fashola, Obaghiagbon or Mamora as his running mate, to take Naija to d next level.

alj harem: LOL so now you are voting for ACN not Tinubu even though it is call that Tinubu is the "god" of ACN unlike PDP where there is internal democracy.
add to the fact that GEJ dropped his godfather OBJ, I'd like to see an ACN politician who can confidently say he isn't kissing Tinubu's a*ss. Still won't vote for his wife if she happens to contest the governorship under ACN come 2015.

the S3 is definitely giving iphone 5 headaches that's one of the reasons apple had to take samsung to court. I'll post the specifications for this phone soon. How's your Sagem performing ?

maryjames9: Why dont you ask Kwara State Bukola Saraki and other PDP led underdeveloped, corrupt, unaccountable state governors.
see mumu, so because Kwara state was a family business you want to use that as a justification to turn Lagos into an "underdeveloped, corrup, unaccountable" state ? Sorry for your life as u no like better thing. If you don't like Lagos as it is now & you don't want to see it develop more, then I suggest you go to your underdeveloped Kwara. Congo meat like you

Its quite obvious the acn are a politically intolerant party, everyone outside their establishment is considered a thief and a fool even though the speaker of the lagos state house of assembly still has questions to answer bothering on corruption. Immediately the so called pdp thieves cross over to the acn, all sins are forgiven and they are automatically saints. Funny party
PoliticsRe: Oluremi Tinubu For Governor (Lagos State) by talktimi(m): 10:43am On Jan 04, 2013
Eight years of Tinubu as a governor left Lagos state as a disaster until Fashola came to save us, the moment BRF tried to drop the thief as a godfather, tinubu nearly strangulated his 2nd term ambition. If this woman hardly attends plenary in the senate talk less of giving meaningful contributions how does she then expect to rule a state as diverse and difficult as Lagos. I've been hearing this rumors ever since the last elections, I don't know about others but I say NO to another Tinubu in Lagos state instead let Fashola bring his brother or sister come 2015...

Crappy story full of what ifs and paloma drama. I laughed when I first read it but when I found out it was this same sahara reporters I just hissed and said oshi. These so called militants number one do not need weapons from the Nigerian army to survive especially in that cumbersome and risky manner of driving them all the way from jaji to ph for example when our water ways are more porous than a basket. Weapons are brought in by foreign oil theives as part payment for crude oil to be made along with foreign currency. Even the aspect of northern military sympathisers arming boko haram with weapons is ridiculous, as much as we like to castigate our military we should endeavour to accord them some respect. It is virtually impossible to steal weapons from our military bases with or without high ranking help, don't let sahara reporters turn you guys into educated olodos. BH weapons are mostly those used in the Libyan uprising that came into our country again from our porous border posts in the north/ soldiers killed/ police stations attacked etc not soldiers supplying them with arms. F*ackin Hell

From my own observation, I know that both federal and state govts through the ministry of health releases money to their various hospitals EVERY YEAR but the hospital directors deem it necessary to siphon these monies into their various private pockets. Why will we blame doctors for fleeing the country when a simple case of malaria is treated with white vitamin c and paracetamol all because there are no drugs in the pharmacy. My friend lost his mom last year due to complications arising from a routine operation as simple as fibroid here in Nigeria. I weep for our health care system.

OsunOriginal: Yes one Nigeria for those that want to be part of it and also contribute positively to her progress.
how can you be a part of one Nigeria when your openly told you're not needed. The tribal jingoists on nairaland call easterners inyanmiri for example which frm my understanding is a corrupted igbo word for piss/urine. If we blame the govt for every bad thing happening to us, we also have to remember that we as a people are also very bad and until we change our attitude towards each other, we're always going to get the govt and treatment we deserve.

dayokanu: Why does Federal Government give contract of road to Julius berger, RCC, Setraco etc, When the Federal Ministry of works is languishing doing nothing

What does Julius berger and co do that the Ministry of works with their huge allocations cant
very good question. How many roads has the lagos state ministry of works handled by themselves without giving it to private contractors ? I know the fed ministry of works acts as an intervention agency on federal roads doing patch works while they sublet the major works to contracting firms. There's a saying about those who live in glass houses and the stones they throw.
PoliticsRe: People Think That Tinubu 'Rules' Lagos: Why? by talktimi(m): 9:22pm On Dec 31, 2012
Its so unfortunate that the so called democrats here on NL can see no evil in the ACN even if it dances on their noses. It is now an unforgivable sin to support another political party yet we're in a democracy, if a govt official in another party especially the pdp has a godfather, he will be crucified and hanged at the same time while the kettle is still as black or even blacker than the pot. I can't blame anyone since we all have our democratic licence to support whomever we choose but I believe things should be done in justice and fairness whenever we criticize.
We all screamed blue murder when it was obvious GEJ was under Obasanjo's control till they had a falling out, let's accept the fact now Fashola is a puppet while Tinubu is the puppet master pulling all his strings whether anybody here likes it or not.

On this thread so far, the general opinion is that the south east consists of bloody illiterates no better than filth whose opinions and votes don't count while the south south are a bunch of drunken retards who should be eliminated from the country's politics except for their oil which they normally should not have a right to.
We are indeed one Nigeria.

GeneralJ: so nigerians are wiser means they just start saying shit without any proof, i mean where is the proof that Tinubu is even associated with fashola's government
leading up to the 2011 elections if you remember clearly Tinubu & Fashola had a falling out which almost resulted in Fashola being dropped as the ACN flag bearer before they finally settled. Some things are just open secrets I dunno why anyone had to ask this question in the first place. Just as everyone knew OBJ was GEJ's godfather b4 they fell out.

egift: Whenever Jonathan announces a new committee and programme, if you look well you will discover it is another Plug & Loot avenue.

Have you forgotten is spent an budgeted excess of over 2,000,000,000,000 (2trillion) on Subsidy payment alone in 2011. How much budgeted excesses did he spend on other sectors all these years?
the budgeted excess of N2 trillion on fuel subsidy came about because fuel subsidy payments weren't supposed to be in the budget in the first place as agreed by the federal, state govts & the NLC/TUC with emphasis on the labour unions who deceive Nigerians by claiming to fight for their right but do something different instead. This agreement to remove petroleum subsidy came as far back as oct/nov 2011 and I was surprised when people came into the streets chanting war songs in anger when indeed the govt announced its planned removal.
