abu12: The major problem between IBO and Yoruba is Lagos. the IBO's are trying to claimed or dominate Lagos( the commercial center) from the Yorubas because of their business acumen. they want to control Lagos right from the days of Louis ojukwu, who was a business merchant, Azikiwe try to control it, to the extend he rejected secession plan introduced by awolowo. because he feared awolowo will secede with Lagos. aguyi ironsi also try to control Lagos by implementing decree 34, just to hold on to Lagos. emeka ojukwu also try to invade Lagos during the war, after annexing Niger Delta. And the present generation of IBO youth still see Lagos as no mans land, the day IBO's will have access to sea for their business, that is the day IBO and Yoruba animosity will end. But that is just a dream, a dream they can never achieve, they should try river state, that state is their neighbour |

Haramslayer: The West has used the enormous power of her media to demonize the fight for independence. Even, a casual mention of secession generates so much passion from them. BTW, the issue of Nigeria's division is not something that will happen in parliament. It will be like the CAR, they will keep committing genocide on small communities till it gets to a boiling point when the people, even though not armed like the aggressors, will rise up and resist. Other tribes who are fed up with the genocide of these people will join hands with the minority and resist them. You can see Southerners speaking out for the oppressed people of Southern Kaduna, Benue and Jos.
The unfortunate thing is that the once proud race that built massive empire that span into Dahomey has now been hijacked by area boys from Bourdillon who put personal interest above the interest of their people. They now think its OK to look away from genocide because its not our people. The west did not stop u, ask yourself, what major step did your people take to get their biafra (pls don't bring Ipob into this), u have rep, senators, governors, pressure them to speak out instead of blaming yoruba people |

SocialJustice: This is not the best time for your government to enforce VAT collection too. If only we had good free to air local stations on dstv but good content is not cheap.
I recently noticed local channels now work for free, not bad, and my package only added N150 so I can proceed. All we need is cheap data and dstv is history |
TV/Movies › Dstv/gotv increase subscription fee Effective From June 2020 by tamdun(op): 2:29pm On May 07, 2020 |
Just as we informed you barely 24hrs ago that MultiChoice Nigeria will be increasing their subscription fee on all packages on DStv effective from June and some packages will be ditched. Well, earlier today, DStv sent SMS messages to all her subscribers informing them of the new price rate taking effect in a few weeks. According to the text directed to customers, effective from 1 June 2020 7.5% VAT will be applied to all DStv packages… meaning you are going to be paying higher prices as seen below; New DSTV Prices Effective from June 1st:DSTV Access: N2000 to N2150 DSTV Yanga: N2500 to N2687.50
DSTV Family: N4000 to N4300
DSTV Confam: N4500 to N4837.50
DSTV Compact: N6800 to N7310
DSTV Compact +: N10,650 to N11,448.75
DSTV Premium: N15,800 to N16,985Effective 1 June, GOtv Value & GOtv Plus packages will be phased out and customers migrated to the brand new GOtv JINJA & GOtv JOLLI; packaged exclusively for Naija. New GOtv subscription feeSo, the plan now is to phase out a 1,900 naira package to a 2,400 naira package, forcing us to either downgrade to a 1,600 package or move to a 2,400 packageMy advice is if you can let go of your DStv for now, please do and if you don’t mind the new price increase, then you can continue subscribing. To those who can’t continue paying that exorbitant prices on subscription packages, Netflix is here to the rescue; the subscription is cheap and doesn’t consume much data if your device is well optimized. In my opinion, this is not the best time for DStv to increase its subscription price, knowing fully well that a lot of households are running short of finance or perhaps struggling to make ends meet. https://www.yomiprof.net/2020/05/dstv-new-subscription-prices-effective-from-june-2020.html

Politics › Re: Yoruba Vs Igbo: Both Tribes Are Blameless by tamdun: 2:01pm On May 07, 2020 |
Haramslayer: @OP,
What I think was the problem at least from 1999 to date, was that the return of democracy and the flow of uncensored information have opened the eyes of the people. As a result, the East want to secede from Nigeria, but they are being resisted by the West. Notice that the most visible anti-secessionists on Nairaland are the Yorubas. The NC has even aligned with the East through PANSIEC. The only problem now is the Yorubas. Unfortunately, like a people who are bent on self-destruction, the Yorubas refused to see the true agenda of the North. You saw how LASG how to hurriedly ban both Marwa and Okada citing accidents and nuisance as reasons. But the real reason was a credible intelligence of influx of Fulanis from all over Africa enabled by the President.
I once voiced my support for the East to exit Nigeria at my place of work, guess what, the Yorubas almost lynched me. From then on, they started calling me Ipob even when I am not a member of Ipob. The Yorubas have been the ones shouting the most on issues pertaining to division of Nigeria. But this ought not to be, the Yorubas can survive and have a great country without the East. They are great administrators and forward thinking people. You need to see how they are transforming Lagos with private investments. You saw the way they handled the issue of Amotekun. How is the west stopping you from leaving Nigeria? U keep voting ur rep/senate to house of Assembly every 4 years, why don't you tell them to raise the issue at national assembly. Now tell us how yoruba stop u from leaving Nigeria |
