🚨🚨🚨⚠️⚠️⚠️ATTENTION⚠️⚠️⚠️🚨🚨🚨 The Ajibola Godwin mentioned in this post was recently exposed for stealing about $1000 from a fellow tiktoker, Adikastakes. The story is that Adika asked Ajibola to borrow his Payoneer account to keep some of his tiktok earnings in. After some time, Adika wanted to withdraw it but discovered that Ajibola had already done so. At first, Ajibola lied that it was his brother that made the withdrawals. It wasn't until Adika travelled to Ilorin and had Ajibola arrested that Ajibola confessed under police interrogation. He admitted the reason was because he lost some money and insisted he was planning on returning the money after Kagantech, another popular Tiktoker, hired him. According to Ajibola, Kagantech promised to "take care" of Ajibola after his graduation. There and then Adika, Kagantech and Ajibola made an agreement that the money's equivalent in Naira would be paid back in 4 installments of N300,000 each within 6 months. Kagantech had to pay the first installment of 300k because the alternative was for Ajibola to sleep in the cell indefinitely. According to Adika, Ajibola only paid the second installment and is yet to complete the money up till today. This all happened about a year ago, before the OP even sent the 50K. This proves that he has been scamming people for quite some time. The only reason it came out was because Ajibola made posts claiming it was Kagantech's fault he was caught and arrested in the first place. So Adika had to make a video vindicating Kagantech. From Ajibola's responses, he is not even remorseful that he did something like this. Someone like this does not deserve to be on Tiktok. If you see him please report his account and all his videos. |

HISSCRIBE1995:So this demon lady was giving you a spiritual blow-job? :-D |
Okay. And if you are told the top 10 programming languages of 2022 are you going to waste time learning every single one of them? You're probably the kind of person who snobs PHP, while the guys who use PHP are making money while you are here asking for top 10 programming languages. Learn one programming language in-depth and it will take you far. Trends will be your undoing. |
1. What web framework was used to build Nairaland? 2. What DBMS is used to store and manage Nairaland's user and post data? 3. On what web host is nairaland hosted? |
Then don't. The most important part of it is, and should be, that you are enjoying yourself. You think C++ is boring? Learn something else. You think programming in general is boring? Learn something else. |
I like the concept but I find it annoying that the user is the one that has to enter the data into the application. Maybe your application can interact with an API to access score data instead of pushing that burden onto the user. |
Answer: yes. If you want to make a responsive website with CSS alone, you need to make viewport media queries. There is no other way. But, if you are willing to use JavaScript as well, there is a JavaScript API that will allow you to access the width of the viewport (I won't put it here, go to MDN and search for it). Once you've gotten the viewport width, you can: - use client side JavaScript to fetch the appropriate css styles depending on the value of the viewport width. - shift this to the server entirely, by getting the viewport width and sending it to the server, then, depending on the value, the server will redirect your browser to the appropriate route/subdomain for your device's viewport width. Some sites like Twitter already do this (the subdomain for mobile devices is mobile.twitter.com while the domain for all other devices is twitter.com). Good luck. |
As a programmer, you will spend your entire career using frameworks, libraries and applications that were written by other programmers, so you should know how to read the docs. I won't just give you the answer. I also won't assume that you were trying to be lazy. But what I will assume is that you don't know how to get to the python docs. So here's the link: [a]docs.python.org[/a]. Good luck. |
niel63:I wouldn't mind doing it actually (good practice for learners), but I suggest that if you want your app to meet as many people as possible, focus on a website instead of an Android app. |
You should (...love), not hate (You should spread love, not hate) |
Chloraseptic:Exactly my brother |
Chloraseptic:I don't think the coursework for a computer science degree in Nigeria has been updated for 10 years. They're still teaching us how to use outdated technologies like Flash! |
If you are sexually tensed up, try masturbating. |
thanksjosh005:The thing is that I want to master being able to make native apps before I go into CPFs (cross platform frameworks). I've almost gotten Web down, but Android is tricky. Also, I'm pretty much an expert in ReactJS, so if I were to choose a CPF, id probably end up going with React Native instead of Flutter. |
Eniwealth23:"Lorem ipsum dolor sit and it's still the best thing that will amet" haha |
haconjy:I just downloaded the Android Studio IDE, I'm getting ready to supplement my web development skills with Android development. I would have loved to develop for iPhones too, but Apple doesn't provide their XCode IDE for Windows or Linux. I'm still tackling the basics of Java syntax, before entering Kotlin. |
Honest Advice: if you plan on basing your software on a freemium model, don't host the entire code on a public GitHub repository with a FOSS licence, else anyone can download it and do with it as they please. |
khalhokage:1. So what? Ignorance has to be addressed 2. Yes, I agree with you. But Google added a lot of features to their website which Nairaland doesn't have. An example of this would be suggestions when you're searching. 3. LoL |
khalhokage:What a stupid reason If it was like that then Google.com, the most visited site in the world, would still look like it was 20 years old. You don't understand how web development works so don't rub your ignorance in our faces. |
I have a Sony Vaio PC. Blazing fast. That is, if you say "blazing fast" in 2001. Here are the specs for some context : ▶️ CPU: Intel Pentium 1.0 GHz ▶️ RAM: 512MB (0.5 GB) of very slow DDR[1/2] ▶️ Storage: 150GB HDD This PC was released just after Windows XP. You can probably imagine how ancient it is. It doesn't even have a webcam, probably because there was no use for it at the time. Did I mention that it also came with a floppy disk drive? You're probably starting to get the idea; this thing is old. But incase you're not, I've left the name and an image of it below. Where was I? Oh yeah, I was just about to describe my issue, before I got derailed describing how junky it is. ANYWAY, Windows 7 was installed on it a while back (I don't know why, I was a small child then ). As you'd expect, Windows 7 is running TERRIBLY on it. You literally can't open two windows at the same time, unless it's Notepad and Paint, or something like that. The system won't play videos because it doesn't have enough Video Memory for that. It's just awful. So I want to install Linux on it. I'm just not sure which distro I can/should use on it. And I don't care, as long as the distro is fast (relatively speaking, of course ) and is still being actively developed and updated, for security reasons. Can someone point me in the right direction about all this? I've never encountered Linux in my life, so this is a brand new territory for me. And incase you're wondering why the hell I don't just burn it, it holds sentimental value to us. It can be considered a family heirloom at this point . And IT STILL WORKS. Plus, I do like to use it for some things, such as browsing. I think that's all of it. Thanks in advance. And any advice is extremely appreciated! Name: Sony Vaio VGN- Image:

I figured this would require: ▶️ A web scraper that will collect all the data (posts, comments, user profiles, etc) from the host website ▶️ A DBMS that will store all the data ▶️ Some backend scripting to collect the data from the DBMS and preprocess it into frontend code, ready to send to the user How hard will all this be to implement? Sorry I'm such a noob so I need advice from a more experienced full stack developer and data scientist. |
