Day 10:
Gave birds Gumboro vaccine and vitamins after.
Had to give them another 1kg feed @430am.
Started with 4kg feed today.
Another dead bird today.I realised I have picked 4 dead birds at the same point for past 4 days.Had to rearrange the pen by putting feeding can at the spot so that birds will not perch there and stampede one another.Hope it works

pls help me out! I've lost more than half of my 153 broilers . as at this morning I counted 74. Though, I started using conventional but when they're 2weeks after gumboro vaccine, I noticed that some of them lose appetite so I could not complete the vaccine program. the remaining ones are 6weeks old and they are still dyeing. pls what can I do to revert the situation. presently their droppings are green in colour

I feel your loss...so sorry.How far with the birds?
Pls give more info on the birds,like pics.This will enable the experts on the platform to precisely advice you

Male line- as the name implies is male broilers
Sayed is hatchery

Gave birds 1kg feed,making 4.2kg today.
Opened 2nd bag of feed today(9th day).

Breedwell feed a subsidiary of Sayed

Checked on them around half 3 in the morning-birds had finished 3.6kg feed and were all sleeping,gave them some.
Started them with 3.2kg feed,let see how far it will go.
Expand brooding pen to 5x10ft.This is the size we are going to use for the next 1 week.
Changed litter to wood shavings(@emmachille pls note)
3rd and last anticossi taken today.
Lost 1 male line,likely caused by stampede.
Noticed another 3 birds looking weak,put them in a separate box.Gave them anticossi and vitamins.

As at 530am birds had finished their feed and were already crying out for more.
Gave them 3.6kg feed this morning.
2nd day of anticossi.
Lost another bird(male line)today-reason unknown but noticed some redish brown poops on the litter.

Noticed some coloured poop this morning.Birds are 8 days old.Started giving them anticossi(Anidone) yesterday.
Lost 2 chicks between yesterday and this morning.

Lost 3 out of 4 foreign turkeys to blackhead disease.Lessons learnt in a hard way but now I know the remedy.
Learnt it is cayenne pepper or fulfil.

Gave birds 3kg feed this morning. let's see how far it will take them.
Started anticossi(Anidone),to be taken for 3 days.
Birds are okay except for 1 of the plain carton that is not feeding.

Day 6-8:Anti-coccidiosis and vitamins.
Day 9: Gumboro vaccine.
Day 10:vitamins.
Day 11-13:Anti-coccidiosis and vitamins.
Day 14:Lasota vacc mix wit milk(cow bell)
Day15-20:vitamins.
Day 21:2nd Gumboro vacc.
Day 25-27: vitamins.
Day 28:2nd lasota.
Day29-33:Anticoccidiosis and vits.
Day 42: Dewormer.

what of anti cossidiosis?
I've given 7 days old birds antibiotics for 5 days.confused on what to give them today.some medication schedule say vitamins and some anticossi.
Pls help....
I use this program...

EMMAACHILE:
I advise you give admacine or gumbocine and add polidine. Possibly after a day with clean water, give EST mix

Vaccination schedule can be various. I normally give antibiotics ( a good one) every two week eg
Day 3-7
Day 17-21
Day 31-35 etc

Thanks for the response. Do I follow the schedule from vets or follow those found online as some of them could be really confusing

Follow anyone.
I realise it is complicating-some give lasota first and some gumboro...it all balls down to same result if not missed and If completed.

I confirmed the fact that turkey poults need more heat than chicks during brooding.The poults were seen hanging around source of heat in numbers...see pic

Yes,in order to monitor their poop.

Brooding space was extended from 5 X 6ft to 5X 8ft.
Birds are growing everyday,will need to expand again in few days

What are d symptoms, how did u use cayenne pepper.. Pity u lost those birds..

I first noticed like bulge at rhe back of the leg and later like boil on the face around the eyes.
1-2spoon of cayenne pepper in 4ltr water.

I use electric bulbs and incase of absence of power supply,I have 2 rechargeable lamps which I switch on at nights.

Was surprised.It was just getting bad and they eventually died.guessed I started cayenne pepper too late.
Lessons learnt again

Culled my 1st batch,9 wks FIDAN broilers yesterday.Dressed and stored in the freezer for family consumption and to sell to neighbours and friends.

Have lost 3 foreign turkeys to blackhead disease.

Local turkey hen has laid 4 eggs and still going.Her first time. hope she will incubate and hatch.

Administered antibiotics for the 4th day.
Caught 3 chicks on the drinker today...they can now fly.will have to put a cone on the drinker to stop them from flying on it.
They have consumed 2kg feed today and still expecting more

Not too much to do at work today,so have much time to spend with them.

Hello guys,e what can I use to disinfect a pen that has been seriously infected with cossidiosis,blackhead and other diseases.I want to move a new batch into the pen in 10 days.
I have izal mixed with vinegar and bleach.
Pls I need a strong chemical to thoroughly this.

great job bro.... why don't you used big lantern light to generate heart for them. I think the cost of buying charcoal is too much. if possible get small generator to power them light.

Also Yhemit FYI Lantern is not too good for brooding,the smoke that emits from it is bad for checks.It can cause Crd.
It should always be the last option for brooding after electric bulb and charcoal
