@justwise
Just finished this thread...read from page 1 - end.
In fact It's the most intesting and hilarious thread I've seen on NL.
I respect and commend your view about the scam right from the start to the end.
Loads of lessons learnt from the thread.
Good job bro...

Well said.
Being refused for more than 6 times between 2012 and 2018 means he/she has been applying for once or more times every year.

I would advise your friend to hold on for a year or 2 before applying for UK visa and try to change his/her status by visiting another country.

ayobj:
Bros can you advice your friend or relative to stop wasting money.
Applying every 2 months reeks of desperation and likely violation of non immigrant visa rules.
Hence you will likely be refused again.

Relax first give it a space of 6 months to one year.
Then you try again.
Get someone who is genuine and experienced to help you fill your forms.

Don’t use unscrupulous agents again.
All the very best

Bros pls do think twice and put your family first.

Take a bold step and bring them back to Nigeria...All the best bro.

@Royal many thanks for the info on the buttons.
Hope you are correct...

quote author=RoyaleD post=73986444]

Congratulations on getting your visa with all the hurdles you had to cross in a short time.
You weren't interviewed though. The experience you described is the standard procedure for biometrics. Remember, those Abuja and Lagos offices are just submission centres. The interview proper is also organized in the centre via an on-screen skype interview (with their natives.)
Also, for those who are wondering, They now ask to press the green button (good) to show you are satisfied with their service before you exit the centre. (However, any anyone can press the yellow(average) or even red (bad)depending on how he/she personally rates the service)
Its just for survey purposes and won't affect the application.
Very good morning to you guys...

Your online application has been received at the UK Decision Making Centre. Your application is currently being prepared for consideration by an Entry Clearance Officer.

Submitted 10th Dec...With this mail, like how many days will it take again for my pport to be ready for collection?

I sure did my finger print....
it was after the finger print,OK this exactly how it happened.
the screen showed my number and where I was to go or biometric
I looked rough, looking for the interview room,
got there keeping a smiling face,
greeted the lady ,then she kept this serious face,
then she like don't sit stand,
then she like look up at the camera and introduce yourself, them I looked up and like hello there (waving the camera),am Gideon...then she like your full name, which I told,I said my age ,then she like your full date of birth...am like aunty u guys want to kill me here with a smiling face, she just strong face ,I continued then I said my address, then she like uncle you can sit...
sorry for all the stress...
she then told me something amazing....
she said I have been here since few minutes before eight then why am I just doing my biometrics.... I was stunned and asked how do u know?.....she said we see almost all things round the premises, then I explained how I almost cancelled to get a refund... she boldly told me I would have done it to reduce their work.....then she told me to sit upright for my visa photo....then am like my hair is rough ,I had to go out like twice to adjust my self....did my finger print, snapped my passport PIC.... then as I was about leaving she told me to press d green button close to the entrance....Now there were 3 buttons at the entrance..... green, red, couldn't see d last one,
d green button had Good ,the red had average but I cldnt see d last one cos I was a bit rushing to leave the room.
Was only asked to say my name and dob...but was not asked to press any green button.
Pls what does the green button imply?

quote author=Gideonaigbe post=73967214]
I stay with my uncle that works with the Japanese Embassy so he wrote it and added his numbers, office email .
when I got to the interview room,I was only asked my date of birth,my name and where I live
..after wards I was told to press the green button while coming out.
First of all @justwise u doing a great job,2ndly dis thread helped me through ,I actually did everything my
self with d help of the information and exposure from this thread....
I applied on the 8th of DEC....
I got discouraged by some people at metro plaza that its too late as i planned on leaving on the 23rd of december except I use the priority service....
@just wise confirmed it isn't too late....I almost canceled it...i just continued reluctantly....
Only for me to get to my appointment and was told I would have to pay for prime time ,I went completely confused,I almost the subject of attraction at TLS abuja that day, in fact I was cancelling it when a man said just do it u can't tell ,and then I forged ahead and paid only for the lady there again told me its too late that I have to pay for late coming 200dollars or so,I din't pay,she just helped me to enter....got to the scanning office and then I missed a picture ,had to plead with d lady to help me that they in my phone....to my greatest surprise ,she helped me print it out from my phone....,got to my biometric and d lady there was hell....saying I look rough and she insist I go out and look good ,imagine after all the stress ,I humbly obeyed her....
after that day I became worried as I din't get any text or mail... until d 3rd day that my application has been received by ukvi.
yesterday I got another mail that my passport is ready for collection.... I felt well lemi just go and collect it and boooom...the visa was issued.....God is great.
Yes very helpful. Thanks for sharing.

shenanigans:
Hello team.

I am not very good at writing/commenting but just thought i should share something that may be useful to visa applicants. Especially self employed entrepreneurs and business owners.

Recently applied for a 2 years UK visa and it was approved. This is my 2nd visa. 1st was 2 years ago, applied for a 6 months visa and was approved as well. Used the exact same format i used for the first one.

Documents submitted;
CAC registeration documents with FIRS TIN number letter attached.
6 months bank statement with N1,300,000 balance (N1,000,000 out of that was transferred into my personal acc from my business account right before the application)
6 months pay slip (i pay myself N250,000 every month, even though it was not up to some months but that didn't matter)
A board resolution with all directors signature explaining why the amount was approved for your trip and approving the money for the trip to be sent to your account.
Board approval letter
Leave letter
Letter of Introduction.
Hotel reservation
Family pictures ( if you're not married, attach picture with your siblings or parents)

Be sure to explain every large sum that comes into your account and provide evidence either using a contract, letter, personal receipt etc

A budget of not more than N600,000 for your trip.
Be precise when answering the question of what you would be doing in the UK. Do a research a d mention tourist attractions.

I hope this would be helpful to someone. Cheers.

@ekpotek I so much respect your response to this...especially (4). Good job bro

ekpotek:
1. Since you did not provide information on your quarterly allowances, it is difficult for me to evaluate your financial ties to Nigeria.
2. Sure you can state in the form you're travelling with someone. This information only come into play if both of you will be submiting a group application. If not, each applicant will be assessed based on individual present circumstances in Nigeria.
3. If you have a family in the UK, then I advise you declare them. Declaring them does not mean you must visit or stay with them.
4. Explaining these mutual investment and contribution to the ECO will be a tought task. I would suggest that you liquidate the fund you need for the visit and let it be sitting in your account at the time of application, beside submiting documents relating to your mutual investment and contribution as sources. You can provide a cover letter to ECO to justify why you liquidated the fund, that you have been saving for the trip.
5. Sure you can stay at your friend relative place, so far they provide the necessary documents such as letter of invite, council bills, utility bills, morgage bills etc.

Please don't ignore. You don't need to have the reference number. Simply state that YEs, you have been refused before. If you don't remember the exact date, but you know the month and year, simply state the month and year. If you only remember year, state the year.

Explain further in the extra page for "more info" that you have been refused back in 2004, you can't remember what date/reference no it was, as it's been a long time.

Whatever you do, don't lie. Do not be economical with the truth by ignoring it either. If you do..na automatic denial be that.

There's nothing wrong in using hostel booking. In fact, booking a hostel gives you an advantages as a tourist. Most genuine tourists try to save money during their visit. If you're still not comfortable, you can try a 5 star hotel instead. shocked shocked shocked shocked shocked
