safarigirl: And I find it rather ignorant of KayVee's family to say with conviction that he had no mental health issues, and this was just from feeling unwelcomed
What do they know about mental health and who has the issues?
People can be in a house with someone for years, and will never know they have any mental health issues until they come home one day and see a suicide note.
Mental health is not always obvious to family or friends, because those who suffer it can shroud it with a cloak of joy. Some of the biggest victims of this thing have been comedians and celebrities, and a lot of them have families that never see it coming.
We hear people say "He was so full of life", "He was jovial, kind" etc.
So, you cannot say that he had no mental health issues, without adding "None we were aware of". Else, they will come and tell us who made him feel unwelcomed. I won't fault them at all. They could be aware and not want to let it out to the public. You know the stigma attached to mental health issues. Abi no be NAija we dey? |

khiaa: This is so full of crap and lies, all black neighborhoods aren't the same. There are middle class black, and upper class black neighborhoods in the suburbs that aren't war zones.
Black people are killed by white racist cops not because they are criminals. Isn't it strange how white men can commit mass murders and be taken away by the cops without the cops putting a scratch on their bodies but a black person can be murdered by the cops for a simple traffic stop. Middle class and upperclass black neighborhoods are few and far between. There is a disproportionate population of blacks living in the inner cities and ghettos than any other ethnicity. Most blacks that end up being killed by police officers were carrier criminals resisting and fighting the police. Black Americans are 14% of the population. But commit almost 50% of violent crimes. Look that up. I would be the happiest human on Earth if blacks would tackle the root causes of these problems. But right now, they aren't ready to face the truth. |

WOW! I am sorry I engaged you in a discussion that's above your intellectual comprehension. First off, you have no clue what monopoly means other than your simpleton understanding of it and secondly, you lack the ability to use a given data and apply it to an issue at hand. I apologize. I did not know your level of knowledge. You know, social media has made every IDIOT and numbskull an expert on issues that used to be only within the province of intellectuals. You made a strong point with the profit data of Dangote cement. But, don't you think the high cost of cement could be attributed to the non existing key infrastructures like power and transportation. Ideally, cement is best transported by rail not trucks. i learnt he built some roads leading to his factory himself. Assembles his trucks himself. Has a dedicated gas power plant. The general business environment in Nigeria is unstructured and hostile. What do you think? |

salford1: That's not how statistics work. You need to look deeper into the numbers. Please educate yourself.
What is the population of Black Americans in the USA compared to White Americans?
Statistics and research says a black person is 3 times more likely to be killed despite their low population.
The link you posted also agrees with the Havard research. It's easy to guess the reason for more black people to be killed in an encounter with police officer. Propensity to be a criminal. Now we can debate on why that is so....because it's another discussion on its own. But we both agreed that black neighborhoods are rife with crime. And whereever there is crime, there tend to be more encounters with police. Why do you think rappers brag about "leaving the hood" as an achievement. Or bragging about making it past their 18th birthday. Don't let The barbeque parties and family reunions in the movies fool you. Black neighborhoods are literal war zones. |

salford1: How would he do that with the seat belt strapped? If he reached for his seat belt, bullets would be pumped into him. They would say he was reaching for a gun.
Since you want to make this about black Americans, Immigrant Diallo from Guinea was shot 41 times for reaching out for his wallet. If you were the one that had this encounter, you would have been shot in a dark corner because as a fresh of the boat immigrant, you won't have the sense to drive to a well lit area like a gas station.
This soldier used his military training to survive that encounter, yet you slammed him for it. I'm not saying there aren't bad cops. Before the cops got close to his car....he had enough time to reach for his seat belt safely. Yes, I'm making it a black American thing....because with them it's a victimhood Olympics. Do you know there are more immigrant Doctors than there are African American Doctors in the US today?. Do you know the average income of the Nigerian immigrants outweighs that of African Americans by many folds? All I'm saying is that racism and bad cops have little bearing on whether you prosper in America today. It all depends on what your values are as a community. |

BluDesk: Trying to form intelligent.
Opening up a market in economics doesn't equate opening up the market for importation. Who ever lent support to importation here
When you don't know enough, keep quiet, be humble, so you can get educated
Even at that. If importation of any produce makes prices fall lower than locally produced commodity, then importation has greater benefits than local productivity.
Domestic productivity is only truly beneficial with high employment, good produce at excellent prices. If these factors are not in place together in any local production chain, it is economically disadvantaged to produce locwlly
Go and study to improve. I'm not your mate Mr Scientist. Lemme school you. You protect you industries from product dumping from countries that want to wreck your domestic production so they can keep their own people employed even if they produce based on subsidies. I suggest you go read on how Europeans and Asians keep you dependent on them for everything. You produce nothing, build nothing. But will consume whatever cheap products they flood your market with and still complain when companies shut down and your people get laid off. |

There are players that have expressed interest even with money weren't granted access. This point was buttressed by BUA chairman asking Dangote how much he truly needs that he is resisting the government opening up the sector and every sector he operates.
It's in public domain Why would you "open up" the sector for importation? Nigerians want jobs and at the same time don't want a protected economy from external assault. Pick a fight and stick to it. |

Gas powered turbine aren't as expensive as you would imagine and the volume of productivity it would facilitate isn't compared with its setup cost
That's why Redeem and Convenient University can afford it
Do you know with 5 Billion for example you can have 20 Gas powered turbine that backs industrial productivity.. AND THIS ALONE CAN SUPPORT LARGE VOLUME OF THE ENTIRE CEMENT PRODUCTION CHAINS DAILY AND CONSISTENTLY AND FOR. LONG?
PLEASE ALLOW PEOPLE WITH DEEPER INSIGHTS DO THE TALKING PLEASE. Lol. Mr Scientist. You have no superior knowledge on this unless you can prove that those figures you pulled out of you @ss is verifiable and true. And only if you can prove that you are an electrical engineer. BluDesk: Finally a very smart and intelligent mind
Please tell them o
Anyways like Rawlings of Ghana said, Nigerians love it's oppressors.
Cement is 90% limestone, sand. I can say thus for a fact, addictive isn't more than 8%. The bulk of processes involved is extracting, separating from debris which is purifying.. Adding additives and bagging....
Tell me why it shouldn't be 1500 Naira especially for material with 90% locally sourced materials.
Meanwhile Dangote generates his power, has bagging company, source for funds from the same public he is milking Why do you people conflate building your own infrastructure with backward integration? Generating own power is a disadvantage. Building a power plant with the funds you are supposed to use for something else will increase the cost of your products. Same with building motor ways, Same with buying or assembly fleet of trucks when you should be using rails. Think about this carefully. |

What is dangote getting in Cameroon that he is not getting double in Nigeria? Using your analogy, ; the price of cement Is cheaper in Nigeria than the UK, is Nigeria more developed than the UK? If he'd put his hand down to open the car, he'd be shot dead, and the officer will claim he thought he's going for his weapon. Not putting his hands down save him that day The idiot shouldnt have let the situation get to the point of having guns drawn in the first place. When he knew he had a firearm on him, and also had his car's plate suspiciously placed in the wrong place. All these contributed to making the officers suspicious. But people had to make it about racism. Na everything be racism ? |
