National security reasons. If they believe it threatens their sovereignty. This is the real world we live in. You must have the might (it is still right in this world). The U.S. wanted to do the same thing to Cuba during the Soviet era. They will never tolerate what they are using Ukraine to do to Russia. Although Trump is now trying to do a reset. However, the Europeans are still keen on perpetuating that threat. Even Australia considered invading Solomon Islands because of a potential military alliance with China and the possibility of it leading to the establishment of a base. Some people are just not current with world events and politics.

In the real world we live in, countries don't just invade their neighbors. You are still living in a very old world that is disappearing.

Why should they? Why add another weak nation into NATO and further anger Russia. Giving Ukraine a NATO membership has no advantage to NATO and might even lead to ww3. It will be a foolish thing to do. The moment Ukraine is granted membership, this war becomes a NATO versus Russian war with thousands on nukes to fly around. Why would you want that.

If Ukraine agrees to stop fighting a peace deal with be achieved, and they will get billions of dollars of investment to rebuild their nation.
Fighting will end when both Ukraine and Russia agree to peace and each make concessions for peace
Lastly hundreds of thousands of young Ukrainians have died, millions have fled the country that doesn't show signs of a great future. Now stop asking questions that even you can answer.

I just answered you. Those balls have been completely pressed that there is nothing else to press. After all the sanctions on Russia, how else can you press balls. The only choose is to give them concessions. You have lost the ball pressing card.
