He wants security guarantee from the US? He his simply asking that the US will fight his war for him in case Russia goes against the peace deal. While that sounds got for him, he is in no position to demand that.
He is in no position to demand anything from the US.
Again, the mineral deal with the US is his best guarantee. If the US has a financial interest in his county, that's all the guarantee he needs.

The US will always protect their financial interest. He should know this.
