Because Jesus wants them to have the same mind {John 17:22} Christians apply God's word and pass it round as rules for all their members to have the same line of thought! 2John 10-11 compare to 1Corinthians 1:10

So it's not when you think and coming to social media to tell others when there's nobody having the same line of thought with you! cheesy
Well there are people with the same line of thought. Are you happy now. If you were old enough, you would know that no idea is original.

That's exactly what i'm telling you.

Just because you can quote the Bible doesn't mean you understand what it says it's only when you're able to present the PRACTICAL APPLICATION of what this book says that proves you understand it! wink
You are not making any sense. You idea of practical application is me telling you my church. If that is how it works, then all it takes is mentioning your church to be correct. Oga it does not work like that. You don't understand the meaning of practical application.

Abi Jesus, his disciples and Pharisees all lived in the first century and thank God that after his ascension to heaven Pharisees still exists in their group name.

So how come throughout their activities and ministry there was no record of disciples eating with Pharisees nah?
: Another foolish question. How come no record of any of his disciples on horse back so riding horse must be a sin. Stop being ridiculous.
Is the bible a record of culinary experiences?

Oya quote where what you're saying is practically applicable to this God throughout the Bible nah, if you understand! cheesy
Was I quoting from the dictionary before. What does destroying sinner have to do with our topic sir. Everyone must ultimately die. Did Moses not also die? God would finally take all our lives so that has nothing to do with the present topic. At his own time and way, he would take back the live he gave us. This does not mean he stopped loving us. So again, foolish argument.

Satan quotes God's word nah {Matthew 4:6 compare to Psalms 91:11-12} but what about the practical application of what he quoted?
There was never a time faithful servants of God intentionally endangered their lives to test God {Matthew 4:7 compare to Deuteronomy 6:16} so Jesus can present God's servants who applied what he's saying practically but Satan can't. Why? Because Satan hates anyone obeying God's word so he can't present any practical application of what he's quoting! wink
Oga stop the distraction. One thing at a time.
Now back to the discussion.

And he said, A certain man had two sons:

12 And the younger of them said to his father, Father, give me the portion of goods that falleth to me. And he divided unto them his living.

13 And not many days after the younger son gathered all together, and took his journey into a far country, and there wasted his substance with riotous living.

14 And when he had spent all, there arose a mighty famine in that land; and he began to be in want.

15 And he went and joined himself to a citizen of that country; and he sent him into his fields to feed swine.

16 And he would fain have filled his belly with the husks that the swine did eat: and no man gave unto him.

17 And when he came to himself, he said, How many hired servants of my father's have bread enough and to spare, and I perish with hunger!

18 I will arise and go to my father, and will say unto him, Father, I have sinned against heaven, and before thee,

19 And am no more worthy to be called thy son: make me as one of thy hired servants.

20 And he arose, and came to his father. But when he was yet a great way off, his father saw him, and had compassion, and ran, and fell on his neck, and kissed him.

21 And the son said unto him, Father, I have sinned against heaven, and in thy sight, and am no more worthy to be called thy son.

22 But the father said to his servants, Bring forth the best robe, and put it on him; and put a ring on his hand, and shoes on his feet:

23 And bring hither the fatted calf, and kill it; and let us eat, and be merry:

24 For this my son was dead, and is alive again; he was lost, and is found. And they began to be merry.

25 Now his elder son was in the field: and as he came and drew nigh to the house, he heard musick and dancing.

26 And he called one of the servants, and asked what these things meant.

27 And he said unto him, Thy brother is come; and thy father hath killed the fatted calf, because he hath received him safe and sound.

28 And he was angry, and would not go in: therefore came his father out, and intreated him.

29 And he answering said to his father, Lo, these many years do I serve thee, neither transgressed I at any time thy commandment: and yet thou never gavest me a kid, that I might make merry with my friends:

30 But as soon as this thy son was come, which hath devoured thy living with harlots, thou hast killed for him the fatted calf.

31 And he said unto him, Son, thou art ever with me, and all that I have is thine.

32 It was meet that we should make merry, and be glad: for this thy brother was dead, and is alive again; and was lost, and is found.

God does not stop loving us even when we turn our backs from him.

Ọmọ i did not tell you i quoted Jesus directly:

Read John 17:8-9 in any Bible of your choice.

As for eating with Pharisees they were setting a trap for Jesus but he warned his disciples not to try the same that's why you can't find anywhere in the Bible that Jesus' disciples ate with Pharisees! wink
There are 2 choses here. 1. Jesus is a hypocrite who does not practice what he teaches. 2. You misunderstood the scriptures.
I choose 2. You completely misunderstood the scriptures. Jesus Christ is not a hypocrite.
Jesus Christ never commanded us to do something that he could not do. That is why he is the way. We follow his examples. If he ate with the Pharisees, it means you failed to understand the scriptures.

He honoured their invitation because the time to separate completely from backsliders has not come but he warned his disciples not to do the same that's why you can't see anywhere in the scriptures where his disciples eat with Pharisees. In fact after Jesus' death Pharisees made their intentions known to Jesus' disciples that they'll hunt them if they continue with what their teacher taught them. Act 4:18; 5:28

So the enmity became obvious to everyone! wink

At least we know that Jesus knows whenever the Pharisees wants to trap him with his words......

From their own darling Bible....

Then the Pharisees went and conspired together in order to trap him in his speech. 16 So they sent their disciples to him, together with party followers of Herod, saying: “Teacher, we know you are truthful and teach the way of God in truth, and you do not seek anyone’s favor, for you do not look at the outward appearance of people. 17 Tell us, then, what do you think? Is it lawful to pay head tax to Caesar or not?” 18 But Jesus, knowing their wickedness, said: “Why do you put me to the test, hypocrites?

Everyone is a pilgrim and strangers on the earth.

You should know the Bible speaks poetically most times and this is why we have different interpretations of biblical verses from church to church, sect to sect and pastor to pastor. This is why there are lots of heresies preach in the name of Jesus today.

That aside, there is no living soul on earth that God is not aware of their coming into the world. No one.

[b]Jeremiah 1:5 (KJV) Before I formed thee in the belly I knew thee; and before thou camest forth out of the womb I sanctified thee, and I ordained thee a prophet unto the nations.

So your journey as a human did not start from your mother's womb. It started in the spiritual.
Right in the mind of God.

So when you were born you have existed before then and you are still going to leave that body ( the flesh) when you die. So, poetically you are like a pilgrim on a journey. From the spiritual to the physical and from the physical back to the spiritual.

The spiritual must happen either in two ways. Living with the one who formed you in your mother's womb for ever for accepting Jesus or live with the Devil for ever due to your wrong decision of denying Jesus on earth.
This makes sense but do you have scriptural backing?

It does not matter the Pharisees intentions, the most important thing is that Jesus Christ wined and dined with the evil Pharisees by choice. So clearly you misunderstand the scriptures. Jesus Christ was no hypocrite. He did not go behind his disciples to enjoy the best of Pharisee cooking and then preach to them not to do the same. You guys are funny.

Michael547:
I think the issue here is your understanding of the word pilgrim. A pilgrim simply refers to one who journeys in a foreign land. Not necessarily one who returns to where he came from.
Paul was simply saying that the whole world of unrighteous people were likened to a 'foreign land' among whom the people of God were like 'pilgrims' or 'strangers' because their lifestyle was not accepted by the people they lived with, thus came the persecutions they faced.
We can talk on phone for better explanation.
Paul was not saying that the whole world of unrighteous people were likened to a 'foreign land' among whom the people of God were like 'pilgrims' or 'strangers' because their lifestyle was not accepted by the people they lived with, thus came the persecutions they faced.
He was not even talking about the unrighteous world in that verse. Nothing shows he was alluding to the unrighteous world.
Christianity Etc › Re: What Is The Origin Of Man? by tctrills(op): 8:27pm On Feb 16, 2023
Michael547:
The 'earth' In this context can involves different parts of the earth as described in verse 8 and 9 while describing Abrahams lifestyle on earth.
The 'earth' could also refer to the whole world of unrighteous people as described in verse 37 and 38 In which God's people lived as strangers or foreigners among them.
Verse 8 and 9 did not mention the earth so there is no context there. Now verse 38 did not only call them strangers, it also called them pilgrims. There is a difference.
A pilgrim would always return back home after his pilgrimage. Abraham and his wife were not looking to return back to their father's land so it could not have been referring to where they came from.
Christianity Etc › Re: What Is The Origin Of Man? by tctrills(op): 8:13pm On Feb 16, 2023
Michael547:
Ok...let me explain with the context of Hebrews 11 to help you understand the concept of pilgrim mentioned there.
Going through that chapter you would learn that the apostle Paul was talking about people of faith, People like Abraham and so on.
Taking the example of Abraham, Paul pointed out in verse 8 and 9 that Abraham had to leave his own land and live in other people's land. Thereby living a stranger or pilgrim. Paul did not suggest that Abraham came from another Planet to earth in that context.
More to that, in verse 38 after mentioning different men and women of faith, Paul described how they lived on earth. Thereby portraying them as strangers and pilgrims in different part of the earth.
13 These all died in faith, not having received the promises, but having seen them afar off, and were persuaded of them, and embraced them, and confessed that they were strangers and pilgrims on the earth.

It clearly states stangers and pilgrims on the earth. Not from a different part of the earth

Nice question. One thing to note is that the bible describes the human life as temporary because we don't live forever (James 4:14 and Job 14:1,2) So it could be said that we are strangers or pilgrims on earth cause we don't live forever on it. It does not necessarily mean we lived somewhere else before.
Life is not forever has no bearing with being a stranger or pilgrim. How does that even relate?
A pilgrim is someone who comes from another country mostly for a religion purpose.
