LegacyB: And Anambra is now the state to beat in Nigeria , even better than London !!! . I have said it before Nigeria is in trouble. Atiku, Tinubu and Obi’s supporters will not kill us all with clear lies. Well maybe the best lair will win.Smh......... I am sure you have never visited Anambra before or After Obi. Let me just educate you a bit. Obi made Anambra the center of education. Under him, the state became the best in weac and out high school exams. He met a state with only one accredited hospital, he left with many accredited. He remains one of the best governors in managing funds. He never borrowed and he left so much in the states account when he left. Do you remember in 2015 Buhari complained that Jonathan left him nothing? Imagine every leader was like Obi, investing for the future generations and managing state funds |

This is very annoying. Even if Tinubu sneeze they would open a thread. If power must go to the East can you do it alone? The Tinubu supporters are as bad or maybe worse. The problem is that the Obi Supporters are making them uncomfortable. Don't forget, it was Tinubu himself that cursed people to labour till death. Obi on the other has has always called for peace. Tinubu supporters call every Obi Supporter Ipob. Yet they keep complaining that they are being insulted. |

thebosstrevor1: 100% from what i understood
as far as 2015, land prices were U$1,800 per square metre for inner city plots while plots located along the road and waterfront were at US$2,500 / sq. m and US$3,000 / sq. m.
everything have been bought and now land speculators have taken over selling land *8 of initial price Sorry I could not reply you yesterday. While I don't think you are lying, your claim of 100% sold out is very strange from an economic reason. Let me tell you why. Imagine a business, a mall, bank, hotel, or school buys land in Eko Atlantic. First, the would secure a bank loan. Because the project is in Nigeria, it would be a double digits interest loan. Let's assume the company buys the land for $1 million. For every year the property is not functioning, they loss about $100k. No one operates business like that. If the property is 100% sold out then there is clearly a major challenge preventing businesses from developing their plots. |

Realist12: and Obi is the best Y'all can present? Obi isn't half as intelligent and accomplished as Tinubu or his mentees . Tinubu's legacies and policies in Lagos can be pointed to and they are still beneficial to the masses. I think it's time we stopped giving Obi with mediocre projects attention and focus on Atiku who happens to be Tinubu's only contender . We all know they are supporting Obi based on tribalism and not competence because they know how his administration went . IPOB has only successfully rebranded the failure Obi and guess what they are ready for the south to lose the ticket to Atiku rather than Tinubu just as they did at the APC primaries. I just laugh. We lived in Lagos. Tinubu has nothing to be remembered for. He was half the governor Fashola was. Obi on the other hand remains one of the very best the nation has ever produced |

We have hundreds of very different Christian sects and they never came together to produce the so called manifesto. Please who wrote this manifesto? How do you know it isn't fake? Since 1994 till date, has Christian action in anyway shown that they are working to fulfill the manifesto. |

Lukuluku69: 1. And I say you are wrong about India! Please read my post again, perhaps you missed the part where I wrote "Hindu ultra". Just a number of them and before you know it, a mob will decsend on you. Search the internet and you will see dozens of such cases. If truly you once reside and not one passing thru o business, you will notice that Muslims in India stays in cluster: they stay together for protection as they are outnumbered 9-1 in India. Yes they eat their Sallah Ram but don't let an Hindu Ultra catch you!
2. The Shari'a Law is for Muslims ALONE. Check the Nigerian Constitution. But issues arises when The Shari'a says you can't consume Alcohol in the Public or should not be put on sale in an Islamic society what now happens to the Non-Muslims? As for Muslims in the U.S and Europe, they must follow the Laws of the Land they live in while at the same time observe the Sharia Codes in their dealings with each other. It would interest you to know that Europeans understand the Muslims needs and Sharia Compliant Codes are coming onboard. In food, Bankings, Health Care delivery, the Europeans are accommodating the Muslims with sharia compliant codes. A simple google search will show you more.
3. The Separation of the Church and the State in Europe was done to simply check the excesses of the then Church. Nothing more. Don't let us sugarcoat anything. And to let you know, what you call "Freedom" is what will eventually kill Europe. In the Kingdom of God, there is no freedom as you understand it. In that Kingdom, God's Will holds sway. And Divine Laws is what will be in place to achieve that. You are right when you say the separation of church and state checked the excesses of the church. It was a decision made by Christian nations at the time. Imagine how wonderful the world would be if Muslim nations also separated power from the mosques. Christians used to be just like Muslims 400 years ago. You can't stick to the past when it no longer makes sense. |

Lukuluku69: 1. The Nigerian Press? I have never seen any other Press as irresponsible and sensational as they are. I don't read them and I don't rate them at least for now. Like I said earlier, we do have ill-informed and our own deviants who sometimes act and do bad stuff but I can tell you that they don't represent the whole. Every system/belief system have them. For instance, if an Hindu ultra catch you with beef meat in India, it is jungle justice straight. Do you know why? He/she knows that the System would let you walk but according to him/her you have committed a sacrilege by eating the meat of his god!
2. Shari'a Law or any Law for that matter are applied based on evidence. Once there is a iron caste evidence against you, the Law will be applied. So, it is not as if Shari'a has made the Northerners intolerant on the contrary they are only applying the Law as spelt out in the ordinance. The unfortunate thing is that the Christians have no such Laws and only follow the Law of Nigeria as it were. But bear in mind that for the Muslims, the Shari'a supercedes the Nigerian Law as it an Eternal Law. So, you can see where the problem lies. It is a case of two parallels not meeting . 3. The Holocaust was cited to show you what different people hold dear. And yes, Israel has more freedom than most Islamic Nation that is why LGBT can openly parade, same sex couple can live openly in the society. These and many other freedom abounds in Israel simply because Israel does not use the Laws of Jehovah or as they say God of Israel to govern or rule over them. Do you see the difference now? Islamic Countries/Society always have some semblance of. The Shari'a in their Codes while Europeans/Christians Soceiry don't. Muslims are not suppose to live "free" as the Christians think. The Prophet on whom be peace, once said this world is like a prison for the believers in that you can't do as you pleases. 1.You are wrong about India, I have been there. India has one of the biggest Muslim population on earth. They eat their Salah rams and no one hurts them. There are penalties for killing cow not for eating meat. 2. I have nothing against the Shari'a Law. But when your religion forces it's laws on others, that is the definition of intolerance. If the Muslims believes their law to be higher that the law of the land, why don't they try it in Europe and America? They can only try it in countries that excuse their violence. Backwards countries like Nigeria. Why do you think Dubai allows the sale of Alcohol in most hotels? 3. So just do you know, the separation of church from state was a deliberate action taken by American and European Christians and it has had a positive impact on the entire world. Thanks to the separation, a Muslim is the current Major of London. A Muslim has every right in Europe and America as a Christian. Suggesting that Muslims are more tolerant of Christians is actually false. It's not true on Nigeria and it's not true on a global stage. 4. I understand that the writers of the Muslim law did not intend that Muslims would live in an heterogeneous world. They envisaged a time when Muslims and others sects would have to come together in the same Nation. Clearly, the Muslim law needs to be reformed to make the Muslims more tolerant and less prone to violence. The same Muslims that attack me for dating a Muslim in Kano would do nothing if they saw me with the girl in Newyork. The Muslims need new laws that make it easy for them and us all in the modern world. |

thebosstrevor1: The project is not a failure.
Many lands have been bought there that is what you don't realize.
some banks have bought lands and some mall developers have also bought some lands, it is up to them to build what they want to build, so it is not the developer problem.
the land there can also be used for speculative purposes, some companies or owners in the future will sell their lands to developers or other people looking to build something to cater to HNI. What percentage of the land have been bought? |
Politics › Re: 13 Years After: Why Is Eko Atlantic City Still Empty? (Video) by tctrills: 10:21pm On Jul 26, 2022 |
thebosstrevor1: bro, what you wrote down is totally wrong.
the investors have already calculated the risk, that is why they decided to develop the land.
you type as if growth is stagnant, as i wrote earlier, prime real estate is long term, infact, all over the world, a single prime properties takes over 3-7 years for it to be sold, when compared to normal properties, also buying prime residential or commercial properties are investment for the rich and a way to protect their asset from inflation
Eko Atlantic, is not only a prime residential area but also a prime commercial area, so banks, malls and some lifestyle businesses will like to set shop there, so in a way it is a win for the developers First like I said, no investor looks to 70 years to take in profit. We all know real estate is long term but this wouldn't be the first time real estate investors have miscalculated. Remember the 2008 global financial crisis, right now, the Chinese economy is hit by a real estate burst. Real estate of such magnitude in an environment like Nigeria could be high risk high reward. I am yet to call it a failure. But I asked why would I buy such property when there are cheaper properties in more choice locations like Lisbon? Have you asked why Banana island is not known for its malls? Even businesses don't spend money anyhow. They look to make profit. Have you heard of the world islands in Dubai, built almost 20 years ago. Today it's still not fully sold out. |

thebosstrevor1: The project was an incidental one, the idea was all about protecting the ocean from overflowing, then the developer decided to develop properties infront of the ocean
fact is everywhere you go to around the world, lands overlooking the oceans or in front of a beach are always prime properties. We all know that beach land is prime and it's too early to call the project a failure but 13 years is too long compared to similar projects across the world. |

Midastorch: Most of you don't know anything about politics and policy making...there are immediate, intermediate and strategic policing/plan.The Eko Atlantic is a strategic plan that can even take up to 70 years to actualize..it's known that the Eko Atlantic will house the biggest American consul office, already it has the Azzura building which nobody in your family can live in ( Sorry, but it's the truth)...just like Ibeju FZ it has not even reach its expected plan yet... Shey you get am now, Nnewi man?? No investor would put down money he doesn't hope to see returns in his life time. If the investors behind Eko Atlantic were looking at 70 years as you claim, they would never have put down their money. Also, the American consul would not occupy the entire landmass. Clearly, Eko Atlantic is not a hot property. It's too pricy for the environment. Why would I want to spend so much to buy an apartment in Lagos when I can buy in Rabat, Prague, and Lisbon. Eko Atlantic many not be the first choice for global billionaires. Is the project a failure? Too early to say. But it is clearly very ambitious. |

thebosstrevor1: Eko Atlantic is a private enterprise.
The American embassy have a land there, they are going to build the biggest embassy in africa there
Real estate is long term and not short term, even a newly built estate takes some years for it to be fully occupied. You have a point but when you compare to similar projects in Dubai, you might find out that Lagos was not the best location for such project. Even Banana island has many unoccupied apartments. |

Lukuluku69: 1. In actual fact, there are no statistics. What we bandied about are just personal experiences. Like I said earlier, this incidents are just giving religious coloration to serve an agenda. People kill in Nigeria now like it is going out of fashion. Killing is everywhere but once it happens in the north, that religious tag is automatically affixed.
2. The North is predominantly a Muslim/Islamic terrain as such they are deeply conservative in their thinking. And "Dating" is frowned at in Islam. So, you dating and moving about with your Muslim girlfriend is out of it. The Shariah frowns at it and I am sure you know that there is Shariah Law in most part of the North.
3. You would probably be lynched if you go to Israel and tell gathering of Orthodox Jew that Jesus Christ is their Lord and Savior. You will probably be lynched if you deny that the Holocaust is a hoax in Israel and I am sure you will go to jail for denying the Holocaust in most European countries. What am I trying to say? Try as much as possible not to provoke a people in majority for the power to do and undo lies with them 1. For stats, just use our newspapers to find out how many times a Christian was beheaded or burnt by Muslims. Of course, killing is everywhere but I am talking about religious killings. Muslims are known to perform religious killings than any other religion. 2. The northerners practice Islamic law hence there lack of tolerance is based on Islamic teaches. Funny thing, they don't attack Muslim guys for dating Christian girls. The south east is also majority Christian yet you never hear that a Muslim was beaten up for dating a Christian girl. 3. The Holocaust has nothing to do with religion. And trust me when I tell you that Israel has more freedoms than any Islamic nation. Jews do not lynch Christians in Israel. When Jerusalem was under but Israel and Jordanian rule, the Jewish part of the city was open to all while the Jordan part was open only to Muslims. Israel is much more tolerant than any Muslim nation. |

Lukuluku69: We don't enjoy fighting the Christians or any other people for that matter. On the contrary, Christians have derided Islam and Muslims countless time. We hear it in your sermons, we read it in your Tracts, you show it in your behavior, and in your utterances.
It is true that some fights I. Nigeria has religious coloration but go find out most of the time who instigate or provoke such situations.
I agree with you that many a time a Muslim or some ill-inform ones among Muslims do over stepped their bounds but it is not enough to put everyone of them in the same basket and villlify them and their faith.
That said, when it comes to intolerance of each other, the Muslims is still more accommodating than the christians in Nigeria. 1. The statistics are not on your side, We have more Muslims killing Christians for religious reasons than the other way round. 2. I have lived in the north and I can tell you that in many places up north, a Christian boy would face violence for dating a Muslim girl. In fact, in some places, you cant move with your Muslim girlfriend without getting a beating. 3. I would be burnt to death if I say some of the things that I write on Nairaland on the streets of Kano. Christians do not kill Muslims for condemning their religion but Muslims would happily murder Christians for criticizing their beliefs. In fact, right now, there is a petition to arrest Pastor Akintaro Joshua Ojo for saying stuff against the prophet Mohammed. But on the other hand if a Muslim say anything against Jesus, Peter, Mary or John, no Christian would call for their arrest. |

When the north campaign against Goodluck all the want was for power to return to the north...... Why are they forcing Atiku on us again to do 16yrs of northern, fulani and muslim reign. Tinubu irrespective of his religion he is sound mentally to lead Nigeria. He did well with Lagos that's why it is the dream of any young Nigerian to be in Lagos for a greaner pasture. Evee before Tinubu was Lagos governor, it had always been the city that most Nigerians flowed to. Just so you know, Lagos has always been the Headquarters of, commercial banks, Multinational industries, Oil companies, etc. Lagos always had some of the biggest markets in Nigeria Alaba, Tradefair, Balogun to name a few. So unless you were born yesterday, you would have known that Lagos has always been the premier city in Nigeria. |
