Politics / Buhari's UN Hypocrisies - American Media, Huffington Post by Techknowng(m): 7:26am On Sep 23, 2017
Nigeria’s dictator Muhammadu Buhari expounded on the fatuous and doltishness punctuated with hypocrisy before the United States General Assembly on September 19, 2017.

It is a safe bet that none ever wished it were longer. From beginning to end, Buhari’s words careened between banality, imbecility, hypocrisy, and deceit. Only the major flaws in his thinking will be exposed as a concession to the shortness of life.

Buhari cynically insisted that he spoke on behalf of the “people of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.” He was elected pursuant to an illegitimate constitution decreed by a military dictatorship in 1999. The “people of the Federal Republic of Nigeria” have never approved it. Moreover, as Buhari was speaking, he was simultaneously dispatching Nigeria’s armed forces and police to the South East to terrorize and plunder millions of Biafran Christians; and, endorsing a northern Nigerian Hausa-Fulani ultimatum to 11 million Biafrans working and living there to abandon their homes and businesses by October 1, 2017 or risk death or torture. Buhari no more represents Biafrans than a slave owner represents his slaves.

Buhari’s desultory remarks were intended to conceal Nigeria’s tireless persecution of Biafrans since its birth from British colonialism in 1960. He absurdly maintained: “[W]e often forget that what we have accomplished in the last 72 years is unprecedented in the annals of human history.” Was it an “accomplishment” to deny Biafran self-determination in violation of United Nations decolonization resolutions? Was it an “accomplishment” for Nigeria to renege on its 1966 promise of Biafran autonomy? Was it an “accomplishment” for Nigeria to provoke the 1967-1970 horrifying Biafran War by systematic persecution of Igbos?

While Buhari is slaughtering and immiserating Nigeria’s own Biafrans because of their Christianity and ethnicity, he made time to deplore Myanmar on its maltreatment of Rohingya Muslims as an anti-Muslim atrocity:“[T]he Myanmar crisis is very reminiscent of what happened in Bosnia in 1995 and in Rwanda in 1994.” In sum, Buhari cares more about non-Nigerian Muslims than he does about Nigerian Christians—which is treasonous to approximately half of Nigeria’s population.

Buhari opined: “The world may be badly governed, but the fact that there is a form of governance agreed upon by all is an accomplishment in and of itself.” According to Buhari, bad governance—even genocidal governance—is always superior to the alternative. That nonsense on stilts would have shipwrecked the American Revolution. It is indistinguishable from the barbaric policy of“might makes right,” i.e., the strong do what they can and the weak suffer what they must.

Dictator Buhari fails to understand that justice is the end of government. It is the end of civil society. It is constantly thundering like a hammer on an anvil to shake the foundations of every tyranny. A society under the forms of which the stronger faction can readily unite and oppress the weaker is the very definition of lawlessness.

Buhari took hypocrisy to a new level in summoning the United Nations to “restructure” to remain “relevant” while fiercely crushing advocates for restructuring Nigeria around the unalienable right of all peoples to self-determination—including Biafrans held in bondage to Hausa-Fulani terrorists.

Buhari also hypocritically sermonized, “As we have learned in Nigeria, sometimes you need to change in order to remain the same.” Every Biafran except the quisling Governors sitting in the South East must have laughed into tears at that monumental lie. Like the French Bourbon rulers on the eve of their destruction, Buhari forgets nothing and learns nothing. He aims to fossilize Nigeria’s politics.

Buhari would profit by learning something more powerful than a gun. The clarion call of Amos 5: 24: “But let justice roll down like waters and righteousness like an ever-flowing stream.”

Romance / Asking For a Woman's Phone Number May Soon Become Crime In This Country by Techknowng(m): 7:03am On Sep 23, 2017
[sub][/sub]According to a report by The Sun UK, wolf-whistling is set to be banned in France as the government declares war on men hassling women in public.

Under new plans bugging women for their telephone numbers and following them could also be prohibited.

The crackdown comes after surveys show virtually all French women have been harassed on public transport, in the street or elsewhere at some time.

France’s new leader, President Emmanuel Macron, has pledged to end this during his election campaign this year.

Only a few countries, including Belgium and Portugal, have banned such behaviour.

The UK and others have broader laws against harassment in general but none so specific.

Some lawyers believe men should only be prosecuted when police officers witness an offence.

Others say women should be able to file criminal lawsuits against offenders at a later date.

But Marlène Schiappa, the under-secretary for gender equality, defended the plan and gave an example of behaviour that would be illegal.

She said: "You are a woman in an underground train. I am a man. I follow you.

"You get off the train. I get off.

“You get on another train. I get on too. I ask you for your telephone number. I ask again. I ask a third time.

“You feel oppressed. That is street harassment."

Gilles-William Goldnadel, a lawyer, accused Ms Schiappa of seeking to outlaw "heavy Latin chat-up lines".

He said the only consequences of the law would be to enrich feminist lawyers and to clog up the court system

Webmasters / Steps To Take Before Creating A Website - Techknowng.com by Techknowng(m): 6:52am On Sep 23, 2017
There are various ways and reasons to want to make a presence on the World Wide Web and one of he best way to do so is owning a website.

Reasons People Create A Website

There are numerous reasons people create a website

The website can be a way to show the world what you can do, or show the World your product and services or even want to make a little change like me.
1. Choosing A Domain Name

The domain name is your website’s address on the web so choose a good one that is:
Descriptive: Choose a domain name that describes what your website is about at a glance. Techknowng.com is a good example so let's break it into pieces, the TECH in the domain name specifies that the website is about technology and the KNOW makes it clear that technology is being preached on the site, and the last part of it is the NG, this finishes the targeting, it tells that the website is Nigerian. So if you are choosing a domain name make sure it points directly to what you do .
2.Keep it short and simple : Domains with long name are easily forgotten, the best way to lure your readers to come back is keeping your domain name simple and short, this way they can remember your site easily.
2. Buying Your Web Hosting

A web hosting provider rents out web space to domain owners while domain registrars sells domain names. Many companies offer both hosting and domain name.

There are also important things to consider before buying a host:
Bandwidth : This is the amount of data your website can transfer to the internet and the amount of data your website can receive, bandwidth usage are measured in Gigabytes and Megabytes. Some hosting providers offers unlimited hosting.
Uptime: Uptime is the amount of time the server your hosting provider is up and running . Any hosting provider can go down sometimes but you want to find a provider with very little downtime so visitors can almost always see your website.
Security : Make sure to understand that your hosting provider have extra measures taken to ward off attacks by hackers. Find out how they have moved to secure your data and the data of people using your site.
Support : You should look for a responsive hosting company, the company that answers your query fast, that's why I used the word responsive. Your hosting company should be able to reply you within a very short time when you conatect them about issues concerning your account.
Price: Hosting providers charge a wide range of prices; some are even free. You need to balance how much you're willing to pay with the services you’ll receive in return.
Ease of use: Make sure you use the hosting company that it's user platform is very easy to use.
3. Determine Your Audience

Like a person once told me, unless you put your content forward to people then be ready to read your post yourself. Understanding your audience is very essential in creating a website. You have to write posts according to the domain name you chose. A fashion blogger shouldn't be writing about technology, only post about what you specialise in.
4. Structuring Your Site

The key to creating a good site is the quality of the post you write. A good post makes readers come back for more. A good post should be :

Useful and informative : If you are creating a site for a restaurant, the hour of service, location, what you offer and means of contact should be included in the post.
More valuable and useful than other sites: If you write about how to train a dog, make sure your article provides more value or a different perspective than the numerous articles on the web on dog training.
Quality and uniqueness : When writing posts your content should be unique and true. This is also another way to rank well in search engines.
Be careful of things that can make visitors not trust your site or leave: e.g Errors such as broken links or wrong information, grammar or spelling mistakes, excessive amount of ads Spam such as comment or forum spam.

MANY OF MY FRIENDS ARE GOING TO AFRICA TO 'GET RICH' - TRUMP

US President Donald Trump hailed Africa's business potential Wednesday, telling several leaders of African nations he has many friends going there to "get rich."

At a lunch with the leaders amid the UN General Assembly, Trump mused about the vast continent's opportunities and challenges.

"Africa has tremendous business potential," he said. "I have so many friends going to your countries, trying to get rich. I congratulate you. They're spending a lot of money," he said.

"For American firms it's really become a place that they have to go -- that they want to go."

Trump announced that he was dispatching US Ambassador to the United Nations Nikki Haley to Africa "to discuss avenues of conflict and resolution and, most importantly, prevention."

South Africa's Jacob Zuma and Nigeria's Muhammadu Buhari were among the leaders at the lunch.

Education / Student Threatens To Sue JAMB For Withholding His Result by Techknowng(m): 7:32pm On Sep 16, 2017
A student based in the Niger Delta area of Nigeria has threatened to drag the leadership of JAMB to the court of law for withholding his result.

File Photo

A 16-year-old Bayelsa State student, Nengimote Loko, has threatened to sue the Joint Admission and Matriculation Board over the alleged seizure of his May 2017 examinations result conducted by the board.

Loko is a former pupil of Nembe National Grammar School, Bayelsa. The pupil is said to be brilliant and boasts of various awards, including the best student from secondary schools in Nembe area of the state.

He recently won cash prize and a laptop in a competition organised by Bayelsa-based Nengi James Foundation.

Loko, in a petition filed by his counsel, Okorodas and Co., and supported by the Civil Liberties Organisation, Bayelsa State chapter, addressed to the Registrar of JAMB, threatened the board that failure to release his result would force the civil right groups to sue for damages against his fundamental rights.

His lawyer and the CLO claimed that the withholding of Loko’s result had subjected him to psychological trauma.

The petition, which was signed by Keneth Okorodas, stated that Loko was registered for the May 2017 examination with registration number 75188026BD, examination number C10104003 with centre number C10104‎.

The petition stated, “The victim, who is our client, is a brilliant student and a winner of an award with presentation of laptop as best student of Nembe National Grammar School. He was honoured by the Nengi James Foundation.

“Sadly, however, the result of our client for the May 2017 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examinations was not released and without just cause.

“Our client was not found guilty of examination malpractices, neither was there any issue reported against our client, yet his result was not released, hence this letter.

“We, therefore, humbly demand the release of our client’s result within 21 days upon service of the notice or face stiff legal action.”

Politics / Nigeria, Uganda To Boost Bilateral Relations – President Museveni by Techknowng(m): 10:07am On Sep 16, 2017
President Yoweri Museveni of Uganda says plans are on to establish air and rail links between his country and Nigeria to further consolidate the bilateral relations existing between the two countries.

Addressing State House correspondents after a closed door meeting with President Muhammadu Buhari, the Ugandan leader said his country would soon revive its airline so as to immediately establish the air link between his country and Nigeria.

“We will like to revive our airline so that we establish an air link because that one is also easier.

“But, ultimately we would have to have physical linkages through the railways that will be done for the future,’’ he said.

Museveni, who stated that he was in Nigeria together with his wife to honour invitation by the National Defence College, Abuja, said his country would continue to patronise the training programmes of the college and that of the Armed Forces Command and Staff College (AFCSC), Jaji, Kaduna State.

He also noted with delight that some Ugandan universities had been providing various opportunities for many Nigerians wishing to acquire university education in Uganda.

“On the issue of the bilateral relations, what is easier now is sharing institutions like this National Defence College.

“Some Ugandans have already graduated from there – six of them. But, we can send more and we normally send officers to the Armed Forces Command and Staff College (AFCSC), Jaji, Kaduna State.

“ I was informed by the ministers in Nigeria here that many Nigerians go to Uganda to study in the universities.

“So, sharing institutions is easy because that one involves just movement of human beings.’’

The visiting president thanked his host for the hospitality accorded him and his wife.

WhatsApp will soon roll out a new update which will let users delete sent messages, including pictures and videos.

The Facebook-owned messaging service is releasing a new 'Delete for Everyone' feature that will let you unsend messages.

WhatsApp looks to be in the final testing stages with the servers now able to handle recalling messages that have already been sent.

According to WABetaInfo, a Twitter account focused on WhatsApp beta, Delete For Everyone is drawing near to its release date.

WABetaInfo said: “DELETE FOR EVERYONE FEATURE: WhatsApp is finally testing the Delete for Everyone feature: the server finally works and it successfully recalls the message.

“Also if the server works, this does not mean that the feature is currently enabled.

“It will be remotely enabled later, and seen that WhatsApp “enabled” their servers for the Delete for Everyone feature, it may really be enabled soon.”

In a later tweet they added once a message is deleted it will be removed from the Notification Centre.

Rumours suggest that the feature only allows you to remove messages sent within 5 minutes.

The new feature, which is coming to iOS and Android, will reportedly work on all types of WhatsApp messages, including texts, images, videos, GIFs, documents and Status reply.

WOMAN GIVES BIRTH TO BUNCH OF LEAVES BEFORE BABY IN AKURE
- THE BABY SPEAKS TWO WEEKS LATER

Mysterious things will never cease from happening. Ajayi Sikiratu from Oke-Ijebu Akure,
Ondo State carried her pregnancy for nine months like every other mother. But on the day she was to deliver her baby, she first delivered a bunch of leaves before she later give birth to a bouncing baby boy at Oke-Ijebu Comprehensive Health Centre, Akure.
As if that wasn’t mysterious enough, the baby boy, Samuel began to speak after two weeks, commanding her mother to do something.
What is that thing he commanded his mother to do?

The two weeks old baby speaks that his parent should tell people about him. The alleged baby said this just weeks after his birth. A leaf tied with a woven hair was said to have been delivered together with the baby.

Religion / I See Shooting, Death In Aso Rock; Nnamdi Kanu May Not Live To Actualise Biafra by Techknowng(m): 2:17pm On Sep 14, 2017
A popular man of God and the General Overseer of the Inri Evangelical Spiritual Church, Oke-Afa, Lagos, Primate Elijah Babatunde Ayodele, has released a list of new prophesies in the ongoing agitation for Biafra.
He said he sees shootings in Aso Rock, Nigeria's seat of power while also adding that the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, Nnamdi Kanu may not be the one to actualize Biafra.
The popular man of God whose predictions seldom fails added that Nigeria will break in 6 countries and that would happen in 2032.
Kanu, he said , will certainly have problems with the bail conditions granted him resulting from his activities when next he appears in court soon.
“The current leaders clamouring for Biafra now may not be the ones that will make the dream come true. Nnamdi Kanu may not be the one to actualize this dream. I foresee that he will have problems due to his activities in relation to the bail granted him.”
Ayodele also disclosed that the Name Aso Rock and location of Aso Rock will change, while there will be shootings and death in the Villa.
He wrote: “The voice of God says the name Aso Rock will be changed in the nearest future and the location may also change. Let us pray to rebuke death and shootings in the villa.
“I forsee that from 2032, Nigeria will not be one country again as I foresee five nations coming out of Nigeria. In 2024, there may be a natural disaster and in the nearest future, the name Lagos may change and Ibadan may become a state.

TV/Movies / 9 Must Watch Movies Of 2017 by Techknowng(m): 1:21pm On Sep 14, 2017

9. Good Time

youtube.com
Arguably the finest male performance of the year comes courtesy of Robert Pattinson in Good Time, the latest grungy New York City street drama from rising superstar directors Ben and Josh Safdie (Heaven Knows What). In this breakneck nocturnal thriller, Pattinson is Connie, a low-level hood who finds himself on a desperate search for bailout cash after a bank robbery goes awry and his accomplice—his mentally challenged brother Nick (Ben Safdie)—is arrested and given a one-way ticket to Rikers Island. With a scruffy goatee, disheveled hair that he eventually bleaches a garish blonde, and amoral desperation in his eyes, Pattinson proves a mesmerizing man on the run, his motivations cloudy, his behavior unethical, and his every decision more foolhardy than the last. The Safdies' up-close-and-personal shooting style sticks closely to their protagonist as he falls deeper and deeper into a hole of his own making, ultimately generating an intensity of sound, movement, and mania that makes watching the film feel akin to being on a rollercoaster with faulty brakes.
8. John Wick: Chapter 2

youtube.com
Rarely has a film seemed less in need of a sequel than 2014's John Wick, a self-contained bit of action-cinema perfection. Nonetheless, John Wick: Chapter 2 manages to thrill through a constant barrage of masterful gun-fu carnage, with bullets flying at a jaw-dropping rate courtesy of Keanu Reeves' nattily dressed assassin. Director David Leitch's follow-up is a symphonic orgy of frenzied firearm warfare, with violence here depicted as a culinary art form performed by stylish Zen badasses with philosophical souls. It's akin to a hybrid of Jean-Pierre Melville's noir cool and Marvel's superhero fantasy, all underworld rules and regulations and unbelievable feats of fearsome brutality, with Reeves exuding male-model chicness and powder-keg explosiveness as the epicenter of this murderous maelstrom. While the film's reason for once again forcing Wick out of retirement isn't nearly as gripping as its predecessor's vengeance-for-his-dead-dog motivation, the specifics of Chapter 2 wind up mattering little in the face of so much exhilarating death and destruction.
7. The Blackcoat's Daughter

youtube.com
Director Osgood Perkins is the son of Norman Bates himself (actor Anthony Perkins), but he proves to be a horror maestro in his own right with The Blackcoat's Daughter, a beguiling descent into dark, demonic places that's all the more chilling for refusing to chart a simple straight-and-narrow course. In upstate New York, Kat (Mad Men's Kiernan Shipka) is left by her parents to spend winter break at her boarding school alongside more popular Rose (Lucy Boynton); meanwhile, Joan (Emma Roberts) endeavors to hitchhike her way to the school, eventually nabbing a ride with a contentious couple (James Remark and Lauren Holly). What these three girls have to do with each other is a mystery to be unraveled. It's ultimately far less important than the overarching air of loss—of parents, of virginity, of adolescence—and grief that consumes them. It eventually becomes clear that all is not right with this institute and its (Satan-admiring?) staff members. Yet what lingers is the pervasive fear of abandonment, all of it encapsulated by Roberts' final, unforgettable primal scream.
6. Alien: Covenant

youtube.com
Blending the body horror of his 1979 Alien, the gung-ho combat of James Cameron's 1986 sequel Aliens, and the philosophical grandiosity of his 2012 prequel Prometheus—not to mention the man-and-machine musings of his 1982 Blade Runner—Ridley Scott delivers a biblically scaled interstellar nightmare with Alien: Covenant. Scott's latest spends its first hour setting up a familiar battle between human colonists and angry xenomorphs, after the former decide to investigate a mysterious distress signal from a nearby planet. Yet after expertly going through the tried-and-true monster-movie motions, the director then shifts gears by turning his prime attention to Michael Fassbender's android David—who, it turns out, is an inhabitant of this ancient world. Face-huggers, back-bursters, mecha-doppelgängers, and the most narcissistic-homoerotic sequence in sci-fi history soon follow, with the action immaculately designed for suspense, scares, and sly sinister humor. At once a rousing blockbuster spectacle and an inventive expansion of the franchise's core themes, it's the rare prequel to truly justify its existence.
5. The Lost City of Z

youtube.com
Acclaimed American filmmaker James Gray (Two Lovers, The Immigrant) ventures for the first time outside New York City— and into the dark heart of the Amazon—with The Lost City of Z, an adaptation of David Grann's 2009 non-fiction book of the same name. Such a geographic relocation, however, does little to alter Gray's fundamental artistic course, as his latest—about early 20th century British explorer Percy Fawcett's (Charlie Hunnam) repeated efforts to locate a lost South American civilization that he believed to be more advanced than any previously discovered – boasts his usual classical aesthetics and empathetic drama. Energized by a hint of Apocalypse Now's into-the-wild madness, this entrancing period piece is at once a grand adventure, a social critique about class and intolerance, and a nuanced character study about an individual caught between his love for, and desire to escape, his environment. Led by Hunnam, Robert Pattinson, and Sienna Miller, it's also one of the finest-acted dramas of the year.
4. I Called Him Morgan

youtube.com
Lee Morgan was one of the mid-century jazz scene's brightest lights, until his life was cut tragically short when his wife Helen fatally gunned him down in a New York City nightclub on the snowy night of February 18, 1972. Using copious archival footage, newly recorded interviews with friends and collaborators, and, most illuminating of all, a tape-recorded 1996 interview with Helen made one month before her death, Kasper Collin's transfixing documentary I Called Him Morgan recounts this sad real-life saga as two separate stories—Lee's and Helen's—that eventually dovetailed, intertwined, and then combusted in horrific fashion. Abandonment, drug abuse, and betrayal all factor into this sorrowful equation, as Collin assuredly conveys the messy stew of passion, need, ego, loneliness, and fury that eventually begat such a calamity. In doing so, it recognizes the jazzy spirit of Lee and Helen's doomed romance—and, also, the riffing-our-way-forward nature of life itself.
3. Okja

youtube.com
Bong Joon Ho's Okja is many things at once: a rollicking kid's fable about the bond between a young South Korean girl (Byun Hee-bong) and her genetically enhanced super-pig (named Okja); a satiric critique of the corporate food industry; a wacko comedy about transcending cultural boundaries; and a fantastical adventure full of kidnappings and chases, buoyed by over-the-top performances from Tilda Swinton and Jake Gyllenhaal, and culminating with a Times Square spectacular and a Holocaust-esque trip to the slaughterhouse. Most of all, however, it's the year's most exhilaratingly idiosyncratic work, indebted to the spirit of both Steven Spielberg and Hayao Miyazaki, and energized by the distinctive signature of its director. Vacillating between mirthful, madcap and morose on a dime, Bong's latest—about Byun's heroine trying to reunite with Okja after the animal is reclaimed by the conglomerate that created her—is both all over the place and yet assuredly coherent. Whether viewed on a big screen or via Netflix (its exclusive distributor), it's a wondrous whatsit unlike anything you've quite seen before.
2. I Don't Feel At Home In This Word Anymore

youtube.com
Suspenseful and hilarious, despondent and optimistic, I Don't Feel at Home in This World Anymore is a masterful genre film, one that immerses itself in the small, painful
at Home in This World Anymore is a masterful genre film, one that immerses itself in the small, painful indignities of everyday life, and then casts the battle against those wrongs as a serio-comic odyssey of sleuthing, heavy metal, and nunchakus. After her house is burglarized, nurse Ruth (Melanie Lynsky) partners with her rat-tailed martial-arts-loving neighbor Tony (Elijah Wood) to recover her stolen belongings. Their ensuing black-comedy adventure is grimy, bloody, and ridiculous, as director Macon Blair (best known for his performances in Jeremy Saulnier's Blue Ruin and Green Room) pitches his material as an absurdist neo-noir saga about combatting existential despair. Courtesy of a great Lynsky performance that's equal parts miserable and furious, I Don't Feel at Home in This World Anymore. (which won the Grand Jury Prize at Sundance before premiering exclusively on Netflix) finds humor and horror in the notion that "everyone is an asshole"—and then locates hope in the closing-note idea that, rather than worrying about them, life is best spent in the company of those precious few who aren't.

1. Lady Macbeth

youtube.com
Hell hath no fury like a woman oppressed, as is shockingly born out by William Oldroyd's phenomenal feature directing debut—an adaptation not of the Bard but, rather, of Nikolai Leskov's 1865 novel Lady Macbeth of the Mtsensk District. In a breakout performance of coiled intensity and ruthless cunning, Florence Pugh is Katherine, a young woman sold into marriage to an older landowner (Cosmo Jarvis), whose nastiness is only surpassed by that of his domineering father (Christopher Fairbank). That union is rife with problems from the start, though despite the film's Shakespeare-referencing title, the path it wends is an original and horrifying one. Suggesting a period piece version of a film noir saga as envisioned by Stanley Kubrick, this twisted feminist drama is rooted in contentious racial- and gender-warfare issues, employing a meticulous formalism to recount its cutthroat story about Katherine's at-any-cost attempts to attain liberation. Like its protagonist, it's a film that's placid and refined on the outside, ferocious and pitiless on the inside.
