Romance / [revealed] 6 Things Women Can't Stay Aday Without Talking About by TechPlace24(m): 1:47pm On Oct 05, 2020
By Eyo Nse,

There are some things women cannot do without talking about. Some of these things are already known without mentioning them, while others are yet to be made known.

Women are one of the greatest creation of God, which brings about surprises, and great moments with them.

Below are the six things women can’t live without talking about as brought to you by Brainnews;

1. Marriage

Women values marriage so much that they can’t do without discussing about it in a daily basis.

They discuss more on the best cloths to wear, the kind of marriage they want on their best day on Planet Earth.

Unfortunately, many women believes that marriage is the latest form of occupation where when you get into it your financial problem goes into the narrow grave forever.

2. Relationship

Women can’t go a day without discussing on a new man she could meet or fall in love with.

This could be the reason why they have too many men as date in their cabinet.

3. Cloth

Women don’t joke with new cloths, that is why you hardly see any lady repeat cloths.

They shop on clothing even more than food.

4. Education

Women believes that gaining more exposure to education will push them to better places or positions in the nearest future. That is why you find more women in school than the men.

Due to the zeal of some women towards education, some schools have more female professors than the male.

5. Money

Women believes in having more money in their bank accounts so that if Man A or Man B fails them they can rush to the bank for assistant.

Some spend more on clothing, without investing. While very few invest, that is the reason you find few women as CEOs irrespective of their high numbers in the society today.

However, this have moved some women into doing some illegal things like prostitution, among others.

6. Sex

Women can’t do a day without speaking about sex related issues.

They will engage with their friends in topics like their best guys with long dick, sex strength and guys who are sex addicts.

Some of them can even go as far as having a guy just for sex, but in the long run they pretend never to love ‘sex.’

These are the few points i can raise for now, feel free to add yours!

Phones / Joseph Dogo Warns Nigerians On Phone Apps That Secretly Record Calls by TechPlace24(m): 9:38pm On Sep 30, 2019
Mr Joseph Dogo, the founder of Digital Hub, has warned users to be careful of downloading Apps as some could be ridden with harmful adware.

Dogo on Friday told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) that some Apps record audio, which is a privacy breach, without user’s consent.

Dogo emphasised that some adware in question could also breach devices, drain battery life or completely infect them to the point that they might need replacement.

“Some of these Apps have been downloaded over a million times by people from the Google Play Store and android users can avoid downloading them.

“However, they must take the time to read the cavalcade of negative reviews,’’ he said.

The expert also said that when some of these Apps were downloaded, they could come up with intrusive advertisements, upon use.

“These Apps are capable of showing promotions on a user’s device sometimes, even if the former has not been opened.

“They will continue to run in the background, even if their shortcut is uninstalled.

“Full-screen ads will start to pop up and are difficult to close, so users need to be careful to avoid downloading them in the first place.’’

“Adware can also infect handset; it can also be used to generate revenue and data for a third-party.

“Sometimes these Apps come up with commands for you to give permission to record audio at any time without user confirmation, let mobile device users be warned.’’

Phones / See How Google Celebrated Its 21st Birthday With A Special Doodle (Photo) by TechPlace24(m): 9:04pm On Sep 30, 2019
In September 1998, Sergey Brin and Larry Page invented Google. Both individuals were PhD students at Stanford University at the time.

Google celebrates its 21st birthday with a doodle which features a throwback photo of an old model computer with the search engine display on its screen.

Not many people know, but Google wasn’t the first name given to the search engine algorithm. The first name was called “Backrub”, According to David Koller, who was an officemate of Larry Page at Stanford, the name “Google” came from a graduate student at Stanford named Sean Anderson.

Findings by Techplace24 reveals that Anderson suggested the name “googolplex” during a brainstorming session. It was however countered by Page with a shorter spelling “googol”. Anderson went on the web to check if the domain name “googol.com” was taken but he mistakenly entered “google.com”. Page liked the name instantly and given it was available, he registered the name for him and Brin on September 15, 1997.

But, today, Google is arguably the biggest multinational technology company and is headquartered in the U.S. They specialize in Internet-related services and products.

Google Doodle is known to honour and celebrate important events/iconic personnel either past or present. And today, it celebrates its own iconic tech company. Happy 21st birthday to Google!!!

Over the years, Google has chosen different days in the month of September to celebrate its birthday. The company has celebrated its birthday before on 7th, 8th, 26th, and now September 27th. One thing is certain though, September 1998 is the month history was created.

Below Is The Doodle;

Phones / Google Maps Releases New Feature To Ios And Android by TechPlace24(m): 2:28pm On Aug 15, 2019
In a blog post, Google has announced that Google Maps will begin rolling out a new kind of navigation feature to the iOS and Android versions of its app.

But, according to metro UK post, the feature is called Live View and uses a phone’s camera to overlay navigation on top of the real world, thereby making it easier to find your way around.

This kind of augmented reality (AR) navigation has so far only been available in Google’s own line-up of Pixel phones.

After testing it sufficiently on Pixels, the plan is to roll out a beta version to iOS and Android phones this week, the company said.

It didn’t specify when users in the UK may get to see it, but it should come through over the next few weeks when you next update your version of Google Maps.

‘There’s nothing like exploring a city on foot–it’s a great way to take in the sights and sounds of a new place. But it can be hard to know exactly which direction to go,’ Google announced in a blog post.

‘With a beta feature called Live View, you can use augmented reality (AR) to better see which way to walk. Arrows and directions are placed in the real world to guide your way.

‘We’ve tested Live View with the Local Guides and Pixel community over the past few months, and are now expanding the beta to Android and iOS devices that support ARCore and ARKit starting this week.’

As for using the feature when it does arrive, users will be presented with an option to use Live View whenever they enter navigation directions on foot. The prompt to try AR will appear next to the traditional navigate button.

Phones / Facebook To Use Yoruba, Igbo Languages To Curb Fake News by TechPlace24(m): 2:15pm On Aug 15, 2019
Facebook has revealed that it will fight fake news on its platform using Yoruba and Igbo languages, NAN report.

Facebook’s Head of Public Policy, Africa, Kojo Boakye, said in a statement on Wednesday in Lagos, that the two languages were in addition to Hausa language, already supported by the platform.

Facebook was collaborating with Africa Check to add new local language support for several African languages as part of its Third-Party Fact-Checking programme, Boakye said.

He said that the programme would help to assess the accuracy of news on Facebook, and reduce the spread of misinformation.

According to him, the programme was launched in 2018 across five countries in Sub-Saharan Africa, which included South Africa, Kenya, Nigeria, Senegal and Cameroon.

Boakye said: ”Facebook has partnered with Africa Check, Africa’s first independent fact-checking organisation, to expand its local language coverage across Nigeria (Yoruba and Igbo), adding to Hausa which was already supported.

”We have also expanded our local language coverage across Kenya (Swahili), Senegal (Wolof), as well as South Africa (Afrikaans, Zulu, Setswana, Sotho, Northern Sotho and Southern Ndebele).

”We continue to make significant investments in our efforts to fight the spread of false news on our platform, whilst building supportive, safe, informed and inclusive communities.

”Our third-party fact-checking programme is just one of many ways we are doing this, and with the expansion of local language coverage, this will help in further improving the quality of information people see on Facebook.

”We know there is still more to do, and we are committed to this.”

The Executive Director, Africa Check, Noko Makgato said that the organisation was delighted to be expanding the arsenal of the languages it covered in its work on Facebook’s third-party fact-checking programme.

Makgato said that in countries as linguistically diverse as Nigeria, South Africa, Kenya and Senegal, fact-checking in local languages was vital.

”Not only does it let us fact-check more content on Facebook, it also means we will be reaching more people across Africa with verified, credible information,” he said.

Romance / Bbnaija: Read What Ike Have To Say About Having Sex With Mercy by TechPlace24(m): 6:52am On Aug 12, 2019
Big Brother Naija housemate, Ike has cleared the air on having sex with Mercy on Saturday night.

A viral video had emerged on Sunday morning showing both housemates under duvet making body movements.

Some BBNaija fans suggested they were having sex while others described it as just romance.

However, the romantic couple cleared the air on Sunday afternoon while they had a discussion in the garden.

Ike said he almost had sex with Mercy but her pyjamas and facial expression prevented him.

“I would have had sex if it was someone Ese, you were the one calming me down and I didn’t want to pressurize you.

“I told them this morning we were just playing under the duvet that nothing happened, if it was someone else something would have happened but this your pajamas saved you.

“ I did not want to pressurize you, in case you would give in and later regret. I just saw your facial expression and stopped,” Ike told Mercy.

Mercy on the other end said she wore her Pyjamas intentionally because of such situations in order not to have sex.

“When I was coming here I made sure I packed this kind of pyjamas that you would have to open from up to down before you can do anything.

“Thank God I brought them and that’s what I’ll be wearing. You cannot put a hole in it,” Mercy said.

Both housemates with their discussion on Sunday cleared the air on the viral video which showed movements under the duvet that suggested they had sex.

Meanwhile, the couple won N2m cash prize on Saturday after emerging winners of Munch it challenge.

Phones / Full Features Of Harmony OS, As Huawei Unveils The OS For All Devices (Photos) by TechPlace24(m): 9:23pm On Aug 10, 2019
Chinese manufacturing giant, Huawei, has commenced its annual developer conference. Huawei owned system which names has been put as; HongMeng OS, Ark OS, Oak OS, etc. However, the company just announced its “Harmony OS”. It can now be seen that this open-source platform is the final name for the popular HongMeng System. After the relaxation of the U.S. ban, many top officials of Huawei claimed that the HongMeng system is not for smartphones. However, at the release conference, this system is for smartphones, smart speakers, computers, smartwatches, wireless earbuds, cars, and tablets. Richard Yu, CEO of Huawei, spoke on the Harmony OS.

This system is “the first microkernel-based distributed OS for all scenarios,” and it supports RAM sizes ranging from kilobytes to gigabytes. Harmony OS is compatible with HTML5, Linux, and Android apps but it appears that the compatibility still needs some development. Yu said, “They (apps) will all be able to run on our OS in the future,” Richard Yu said.

Furthermore, Huawei’s CEO believes that HarmonyOS is an alternative to Android on its smartphones. However, the company will still remain with Android for now. According to Yu, “If we cannot use Android in the future, then we can immediately switch to HarmonyOS,”

For us to migrate from Android to Harmony OS “is not that difficult.”. The “ARK Compiler used for this system supports Kotlin, Java, Javascript, C, and C++”. There will be a launch of the Honor Vision TV tomorrow in China. This is presumably the first device to use the Harmony OS.

Phones / 3 Facebook Hidden Tricks You Never Knew Existed by TechPlace24(m): 8:17pm On Aug 10, 2019
Facebook have several tricks that can your experience on on the social media platform worthwhile. Not everyone knows about them, but using them will make you appear geeky and well updated.

Below are three (3) interesting Facebook tricks you need to know, as brought to you by Techplace24.com;

1. You can post to Facebook using SMS

You can install the Facebook app to your phone which will make you oversee the content your friends post on Facebook. The procedure below will help you post to Facebook with or without a smartphone.

Use a desktop browser to log into your Facebook account then head over to Settings and then to the Mobile tab. Click on the “Add a phone” button, only if you haven’t added your phone to the Facebook account. After selecting your wireless carrier you’ll have to click Next after which you will send an SMS of “F” to Facebook’s SMS number (32665). After sending the text, a message with a confirmation code will be received on your phone. To post you’ll need to type into the field in the pop-up box. For the purpose of privacy, deselect “Share my phone number with my friends” and accept “friends to text me from Facebook”.

This trick is similar to the old keyboard trick where your computer screen would rotate upside down immediately after pressing ctrl+Alt+Down. You can perform this trick much easier on Facebook by selecting the upside-down language under someone’s Facebook account.

Phones / WhatsApp Allows You To ‘Put Words In People’s Mouth’ In New Feature by TechPlace24(m): 9:01am On Aug 08, 2019
Researchers has revealed that a newly-released tool that exploits a vulnerability in Facebook’s WhatsApp allows you to “put words in people’s mouths.”

A team from cybersecurity firm Checkpoint has demonstrated how the tool can be used to alter the text within quoted messages, making it look as if a person had said something they did not.

The tool made it possible for “malicious actors” to manipulate conversations on the platform, researcher Oded Vanunu told the BBC.

As at press time, Techplace24.com can authoritatively say that Facebook would not provide a comment on the issue.

The tool was demonstrated at Black Hat, a cyber-security conference in Las Vegas, as a follow up to a research paper published by Checkpoint last year.

Mr Vanunu explained: “It’s a vulnerability that allows a malicious user to create fake news and create fraud.”

The tool makes it possible to manipulate WhatsApp’s quoting feature to make it look like someone had written something they had not.

“You can completely change what someone says,” Mr Vanunu said. “You can completely manipulate every character in the quote.”

The tool also allows an attacker to change how the sender of the message is identified, making it possible to attribute a comment to a different source.

But, according to another source from BBC, a third issue highlighted by researchers has been successfully fixed by Facebook. That flaw could trick users into believing they were sending a private message to one person, when in fact their reply went to a more public group.

But Mr Vanunu said Facebook had told them the other issues could not be resolved due to “infrastructure limitations” on WhatsApp.

In particular, the encryption technology used by WhatsApp made it extremely difficult – perhaps impossible – for the company to monitor and verify the authenticity of messages being sent by users. Other potential measures to stop the problems highlighted could result in trade-offs in the usability of the app, researchers were told.

When asked by the BBC why his team would release a tool that made it easier for others to exploit the vulnerability, Mr Vanunu defended the move, saying he hoped it would provoke discussion.

“WhatsApp serves 30% of the global population. It’s our responsibility. There is a big problem with fake news and manipulation. It’s infrastructure that serves more than 1.5 billion users.

“We cannot like put it aside and say: ‘Okay, this is not happening.’”

The spread of misinformation on WhatsApp has been a major cause of concern, particularly in countries such as India and Brazil, where misinformation has lead to instances of violence, and in some cases, death.

WhatsApp made changes to its platform in an effort to reduce the spread of misinformation, such as limiting the number of times a message could be forwarded.

Phones / Huawei Ready With Hongmeng OS, To Say Goodbye To Android by TechPlace24(m): 8:33am On Aug 08, 2019
According to a report by Global Times, Huawei could unveil its Hongmeng OS as early as 9 August.

The newspaper, reported at the weekend that the Chinese tech powerhouse is busy testing its smartphone armed with self-developed HongMeng operating system (OS), and the phone could be put into the market at the end of this year.

It will target low-and medium-end markets and priced at around 2,000 yuan ($288.24) to attract software developers and users to join the ecosystem, sources said.

Huawei is set to release the much-anticipated HongMeng OS, an alternative to Google’s Android OS, at Huawei’s Developer Conference on August 9 in Dongguan, South China’s Guangdong Province.

According to another source from tech news site 36kr.com reveal that the Chinese company said that the first batch of devices to be equipped with HongMeng OS will be the Honor smart TV series, which will be put into market on August 10. In the future, the HongMeng OS will be expanded into other fields including autonomous driving, remote medical services and industrial control.

Huawei executives hinted in earlier interviews that the HongMeng OS was primarily intended for the Internet of Things (IoT) and industrial use. But they also noted that if Google insists on cutting off supply of its OS to Huawei, the HongMeng OS may expand to the smartphone business.

Sources said that one of tests Huawei is running on the HongMeng OS is its compatibility with Android applications. The system also has cryptographic functions that protect personal data better and prevent users’ privacy from being breached.

“The new Huawei phones with the HongMeng system will debut in the market in the fourth quarter, with up to several million units in stock. It is expected that the smartphone will show up along with the Huawei Mate30 series,” the source noted.

The price is expected to be set around $288, targeting the medium- and low-end market. In such a way, Huawei can deliver the device in a fast and convenient manner, while also growing the market and not causing an economic burden for users, analysts said.

In addition to smartphones and industrial use, Huawei has greater plans for the HongMeng OS: to make it run on many platforms and facilitate IoT. The source disclosed that unlike the Android system which is based on the Linux kernal, Huawei’s idea of developing HongMeng is similar to Google’s Fuchsia OS – based on a microkernel, can better accommodate artificial intelligence (AI) and can run on multiple platforms.

The source noted that; “The priority task for Huawei to achieve this ambition is to attract as many developers as they can to build an ecosystem.”

Phones / Facebook To Change The Names Of Instagram And Whatsapp by TechPlace24(m): 7:31pm On Aug 05, 2019
Facebook has said that it is changing the name of its two most popular apps, Instagram and WhatsApp, this new development is to better disclose its ownership of the apps, Techplace24.com learnt.

After the effect, Instagram will be known as “Instagram from Facebook” while WhatsApp will become “WhatsApp from Facebook.”

The re-branding effort was discovered on Friday by journalists at The Information, and was then confirmed by representatives of Facebook.

A spokesperson told The Information; “We want to be clearer about the products and services that are part of Facebook.” Also, sources told the publication that they were recently notified of the changes and appear to be coming as a result of antitrust regulators scrutinizing the company’s holdings.

According to those sources, the app’s name will stay the same on the homescreen of phones and tablets, however their names will change in the App Store for people first downloading them, a move the company has previously made with its virtual reality-focused sub-division, Oculus.

Tech Radar says, a number of outlets are pointing out that this re-branding effort has been a longtime coming in fact, blogger Jane Manchun Wong tweeted about it back in March, just a few months after the founders of the company resigned citing a decreasing lack of autonomy.

According to The Wall Street Journal, while it’s unclear if the move is a government mandate from the FTC an entity that, was investigating Facebook’s acquisition of the companies in a potential antitrust case it appears to be connected.

Admittedly, Facebook doesn’t stand much to gain by putting its name on the apps: It’s already a household name, and one that has become associated with privacy scandals. Putting Facebook’s name on its two most popular apps certainly won’t make those apps any more popular than they are already and could possibly cause users to be more wary about the security and privacy of those apps.

Facebook has yet to say when the changes will go into effect, however we’ll continue to monitor the situation as it develops.

Phones / How To Retrieve Your Deleted WhatsApp Messages by TechPlace24(m): 2:59pm On Aug 02, 2019
WhatsApp is a cross-platform instant messaging application that allows smartphone users to exchange texts, images, videos and audio messages for free.

The instant messaging application boasts of regular 1.5 billion users who it enables to send, archive, star and delete messages.

Techplace24.com urge you to follow below steps accordingly to achieve this task. Goodluck!

Below are ways to retrieve messages previously deleted on your WhatsApp account;

1. Restore WhatsApp Data from Google Drive Backup:

If you have back up your WhatsApp messages with Google Drive, you can retrieve deleted messages on WhatsApp via the backup copy.

– Uninstall the WhatsApp on your device.

– Reinstall and sign into your account.

– You would be prompted with a message to restore your backup after you open the reinstalled WhatsApp. Please tap “Restore”. And the job is done!

NOTE: If you have never backed up before, you are not able to restore the data when it accidentally deletes.

Also, it doesn’t allow you to select recover the data selectively and you need to restore the whole files on the backup copy, even some which are useless.

2. Restoring from a local file:

If you didn’t connect a Google Drive account to Whatsapp, there is another way to restore messages from a local file. Here’s how to retrieve deleted WhatsApp chat history from a local file:

– Open the SDcard/WhatsApp/databases folder in the file manager. All chat backups are stored there. If there are no files, check the main storage also.

– Select the file you want to restore from the list. (the format should be msgstore-YYYY-MM-DD.1.db.crypt12.) Rename it to msgstore.db.crypt12.

– Uninstall WhatsApp from your phone (if it is still on the phone) and reinstall by downloading the latest version from Google Play.

– Specify the phone number you’ve used before during installing,

– In the “Restore chat history” window click “Restore” to import old chats and get back deleted WhatsApp messages.

Phones / Google Is Quietly Testing ‘play Pass’ App And Game Subscription (screenshots) by TechPlace24(m): 5:03pm On Aug 01, 2019
Earlier in 2019, Apple announced Apple Arcade, a monthly subscription service that gives you access to a library of mobile games (including some exclusive titles) on iOS devices. Apple Arcade isn’t live yet, but Google is already testing its own competing service, named Play Pass.

Last year, XDA Developers found evidence that Google was working on the Play Pass service, but now the company is starting to test it. We received the below screenshots from a reader, which show the signup page for Play Pass and the $4.99 monthly cost. Of course, the price could change before the final rollout.

“Explore a curated catalog spanning puzzle games to premium music apps and everything in between. From action hits to puzzles and fitness trackers, with Google Play Pass you unlock access to hundreds of premium apps and games without ads, download fees or in-app purchases,” an info page reads. Another screen shows Stardew Valley and Marvel Pinball as some of the included games.

Android Police after receiving the screenshots, reached out to Google, and a company spokesperson confirmed Play Pass is currently being tested. It remains to be seen if an app/game subscription service could be viable on Android, especially since iPhone owners spend far more money on apps than Android users, but Google is giving it a serious shot.

Below Are The Screenshots;
