The Major con or issue with this device is that it does not support 4g LTE. I don't know why Tecno has failed woefully in the attempt to provide 4G LTE connectivity for its customers.
Which is the best phone to buy among these: Tecno Camon C8, Gionee M5 Mini and Infinix Note2 Igb ram.. In terms of: Camera quality Battery usage Durability Fast browsing Sleek phone and others..
Pls help out. Advice urgently needed. Thanks in advance....
I was opportune to be at the BOOM J8 launch. Seeing all the celebrities and Tecno Chinese men, and beautiful ladies. The food too was great. Oh yeah! It was.
During the launch, the marketing manager at Tecno Mobile, Jesse Oguntimehin, gave a full review of the device—two actually. And it was indeed convincing. He looks very well like a geek so I'm not surprised he can sweet mouth the conviction into me.
The interesting thing is that he didn't just have sweet mouth, because that couldn't have done it. He didnt overhype as I thought he was. The videos played at the launch gave me full cause to BELIEVE. I had to get my hands on the video. I also made a few friends in to process. Check the videos out.
The first is for the device itself. The second is for the HiOS. Lemme know what you think.
TechLector: In an event in Ikeja earlier today, Tecno Mobile unveiled the much awaited Boom J8 after weeks of teasers. The launch confirmed quite a lot of rumors about the device and dispelled some. Tecno Boom J8 is a mid-range device, an upgrade to the Boom J7 released last year. You can read the review of the music-centric device here: ==> https://www.nairaland.com/2963521/tecno-boom-j8-thread-first
Tecno Boom J8 is no different. It’s also a music phone built specifically for music lovers. The design is quite different and offers a breath of fresh air though one can actually see a bit of iPhonesque qualities in the aesthetics.
Representatives from the Standard Organaization of Nigeria, Consumer Protection Council and Nigeria Communications Commission were present at the event. Here are some of the pictures at the event.
About Tecno Boom J8
Tecno Mobile has been doing so well when it comes to producing great mobile phones. We have seen the birth of the Tecno Boom J5 and Boom J7 which was among the best budget phones of 2015, and just as we had expected, it is the turn of the Tecno Boom J8 to shake the Africa markets.
Though the Boom J8 is not yet official, but we have got leaks from insiders on photos and few specifications of the device which he stated to be the new Tecno Mobile smartphone – Tecno Boom J8.
Build and Display
Tecno Boom J8 is a huge upgrade to its predecessors, and was inspired by the hot selling predecessors (Tecno Boom J5 and J7) which were released last year. The smartphone is called a phablet device because it features a 5.5-inch IPS display. It shows off a slim body with round edges to make the device awesome and fit well in the palm.
Camera, Storage, Performance and Power
There is a huge upgrade in the camera section of the Tecno Boom J8. The main camera comes with a powerful 13 MP sensor with LED flash, autofocus and HDR. While the phone front side sports fine 5.0 MP front facing camera for your selfies.
It has same built in storage capacity of 16 GB just as its predecessors and you will still be able to add up to 32 GB extra storage via the microSD card slot.
Tecno Boom J8 will be equipped with a 2 GB of RAM which should enable decent multitasking, but unfortunately, it runs the Android 5.1 Lollipop out of the box and could be the first Tecno phone to have the new Tecno custom UI called Tecno HiOS Ui.
Herdeoye: Tecno is out with another new product. Its the P3. Though it seems it's only available in Kenya at the moment. Saw it on Tecno Kenya page, which was shared by their page here in Nigeria. Specs not available at the moment. I guess the Tecno fans would love this. www.tecno-mobile.com/products/detail/P3

Marvell23: AnTuTu Benchmark is a comprehensive smartphones Benchmarking application. It includes "Memory Performance", "CPU Integer Performance", "CPU Floating Point Performance", "2D 3D Graphics Performance", "SD card read-write speed", "Database IO" performance testing.
Antutu recently released the 3D rating as a separate app for download to prevent data wastage each time we want to benchmark a device
I bought the Tecno Boom J8 on Friday and my first impression of the device was quite awesome. I decided to put it to test on antutu to see how it performs against devices on the same range.
I will be comparing the Tecno Boom J8 and the Gionee M5 since they have the same specs
