Moral lessons.
The Success and Success story of yesterday is not enough to sustain for today, each day is a new day...
If you're winning yesterday does not mean you'll win today, so revive and strengthen yourself.
Also because you lost yesterday doesn't mean you'll lose today.
Every day is new people!
You can break that habit today!
You can start that difficult task today!
You can be better today!

That's why the Sun rises daily in the east..
It's never too late.
Have a great day!

Nairaland / General / We Speak But We Fail To LISTEN. by teemanbastos(m): 6:35pm On Jun 09, 2018
We Speak, We fail to listen.
Words express our thoughts, desires and our state of mind.
Everyone is speaking but few are listening, very few, everyone is concerned with what others say and less concerned of what they say. Our words is US and we are our WORDS. So anything we say actually and perfectly describes who we are.
If a bird is flying and a group of people were watching the bird, some will exclaim beautiful creature, others may see a not so beautiful bird, but at that instant, you can know those who have beautiful minds and those who have negative thoughts, it wasn't the bird, it was who they were that spoke out.
So when you review yourself, it's not about the 'no nepa situation' the 'no fuel situations' or the 'Buhari situation' its about YOU, your reactions and use of words reveal yourself.
Let's take a personal reviews of ourselves, our minds are not fine, let's seek Inner Peace and the Real Inner Change,
Then change can indeed begin personally in US.

Religion / What Did You Learn And Imbibe In Church Today? by teemanbastos(m): 11:16am On Jun 03, 2018
I learnt about LOVE.

Engaging the supernatural power of love.

John 3 v 3-8, ephesians 3 v 17. John 3 v 16 John 21 v 17
The greatest proof of our love is seeking the restoration of the lost.

Love is a covenant channel through which the supernatural flows. John 11 v 34-36. Nothing is permitted to die around you when you're walking in love
The compassion of Jesus . Matthew 14 v 14

What is a love that Engenders Destiny.
1. Failure-proof virtue. Matthew 6 v 33
2. Makes a believer indestructible Daniel 3 v 14 Daniel 6 v 21

"Out of the abundance of the heart, the mouth speaketh"

What you say, what you feel, what you do, what you think is Just YOU.
For instance, Olufemi said to someone 'the man is wicked', olufemi is indeed the wicked one as he spoke out his thoughts which is HIM.
I hope everyone gets the message.
You exclaim even attimes with passion 'Buhari is wicked' but it was you who just spoke your thoughts which Is YOU showing off who you are.
ALL times, It's not what is around (they have always been from generations to generations) , all we have to do is look inwards, realign ourselves and start BEING POSITIVE!

Nairaland / General / Why We Shouldn't Repeat Past Mistakes. by teemanbastos(m): 8:33pm On May 27, 2018
How our actions affect Others. .

Today in Nigeria, we are faced with many problems but most boils down to leadership woes and some to our personal faults. One is the mismanagement of this country's funds and this has affected things adversely.

Today, most of us have money mentality in mind, who wants to go hungry? None of course!
A small child expects a reward for running an errand, the police officer needs some kind of 'thank you' cash, the civil servant wants some cash to do his job, the student will only study effectively if money reward is attached, the wife will perform her duties only if she's compensated financially, and the list goes on and these has led to poorly executed jobs, structures collapse, half baked graduates, unhappiness in families etc.

All of the aforementioned are effects, but no problem can be tackled with knowledge of the effects only, except with knowledge of the underlying cause, so what's the cause? We are suffering from economic woes caused by past leaders, billions of US Dollars have been carted away from this beautiful country of ours abroad, while the beneficiaries of our funds with Visionary leadership use these funds to develop their countries, we suffer here. Our economy is Bad! And that's the cause of our present woes.

I was telling my friends of recent that if N500 could sustain a student effectively for a week, then we wouldn't need to be dying to get money to live fine. Students would effectively be able to focus on studying and wonderful researches that would benefit us would be made, but is it a student that is hustling alongside studying that would make amazing discoveries and researches?

If a family of five can effectively survive on N25000 a month, rice is cheap, Beans is cheap, education is well funded, then indeed we won't find ourselves in this situation. Then the children can explore their talents effectively but when a child that is meant to be developing his talents is hawking to survive?
Now, the reason why things are not right is because of the chase for money to be able to live fine, a politician steals for a future ambition, a contractor cuts corners to be able to live fine, a student has to delve into something else to be able to make ends meet to live above the present economic situation and this has indeed made things worse. Things doesn't seem to work fine as money is the priority and bad leaders are to blame for this. But all these are simply woes and consequences.

Everything we do has really long time consequences, when those bad leaders were embezzling, it looked cool and gratifying to them but they were and are narrow minded.

As emerging leaders , What can we then do? We can't control the past but our decisions today can go a long way in affecting us presently and in future.
If by any chance, you find yourself in charge of organizational and state funds, please let us use it judiciously, don't let others' suffer as a result of short minded thinking, A call to service to humanity is a blessing in itself and should not be a curse to others. We can always do things right and start thinking of others' ahead of personal gratification.
Let us be the change we wish to see in our society.

God bless Nigeria, A better Nigeria favors ALL.
Politics / Change:a Constant Not A Mantra! The Buhari's Government. by teemanbastos(m): 6:39pm On May 27, 2018
Change!
There is this constant phenomenon called Change, change is constant, theoretically we all know this in our heads but we are all averse to change. For an individual who is used to brushing once a day, it would be tough for him to indeed follow the new dentistical advice of brushing twice daily, he has gotten used to it and a change is gonna be hard even though the info is literally in his senses(sic) . AS Humans, change is inevitable but while we wish and look forward to change, we are nevertheless not eager to experience such, it is natural. We wish to have a fit body but we find it hard to wake up by 5am to take some jogging sessions, we wish to have more success , but forfeiting the joys of a lengthy night sleep is hard to come by.

The Muhammadu Buhari led APC government of course came in in the year 2015 with alot of promises, before I go on let me remind us of the Goodluck Jonathan's tenure, in the Jonathan's tenure, there were a lot of media trials, it was as if the opposition controlled all media organizations, from witch hunting to blackmailing etc.. The then opposition APC party back then often and successfully maligned the good intentions of the Jonathan's government and portrayed them as toxic to the Nigerian populace.

This nonetheless doesn't mean that Jonathan had his mistakes but of course no man is above mistakes, Only that Goodluck Jonathan surrounded himself with people who were more concerned about their personal pockets than with towing the vision of the President who obviously was interested in the best for his country. The 6months ASUU strike, to media bloated corruption claims to insurgency issues etc, it was clear that the Good man was effectively targeted to be disgraced. The then APC with their wisdom created the chances, took their shots, and won the election - of course on lies, Deceits and insincerity.

In 2015, Nigerians expected a 'fast fast' change which doesn't exist anywhere as anything that comes fast fast will eventually fizzle out the same way, expectations were high, everyone believed that 6 Months after the Buhari's government begun that insurgency would end, food prices would drop, fuel prices would be brought down, minimum wage would be increased, house rents would be brought down but that did not happen and the faith began to wane.
This generally shows that there are wishes and there is Reality, while the APC government intentionally dwelt on false realities to push the Jonathanian government out (evident in the subsidy claims), the same APC has now indeed concluded that reality is way different from opposition politics propaganda and Nigerians have been deceived and hoodwinked, the main reason why supporters of the then change mantra of the then APC party have vowed not to repeat the same mistake.

Well, we say a government has failed if they didn't perform up to expectations, it would be insincere to say that the Muhammadu Buhari's government hasn't done anything, from minimization in money looting in the federal Civil service through the implementation of the Treasury Singular Account which we have seen practically in JAMB, customs etc, we have seen disbursement of funds into infrastructure, a semi won war (or a technical victory as the government claims) over insurgency and maybe a slight lift in economy thanks to the Visionary Yemi Osinbajo. Aside all this, we can't really point much to what the government has achieved, its recently concluded state party congresses around Nigeria has shown the calibre of people in the party, some of Buhari's appointees and appointments which have been really below par,the gaffes in speeches. This simply shows that the leader we have is one who believes in physicality ahead of intellectuality which is a military mentality.

President Buhari's weak body language, the same gaffe President Goodluck had has not indeed helped situations, from his weak body languages in handling the Fulani herdsmen issues to other challenges has proven that even though Mr president has tried his best, giving him another four years will likely see nothing new, maybe except persecuting more opposition members , and the exact things happening now. If Goodluck Jonathan then didn't deserve a second term then Buhari does not as their results card almost looks alike.

Fundamentally, President Buhari is not the only honest Nigerian who is fit for the number one job and we all know that honesty alone isn't enough, but we all know that given the crop of people around Mr President who are interested in occupying the positions of power, rigging plans might have been set in motion from the day he announced his intentions. While Nigerians are still aggrieved with the PDP, they have decided to team up with the Obasanjo-led coalition and other political parties to boot the APC out but the question is how feasible?
If the election was indeed free and fair (no underage voting in the north, no political apathy in the south), Nigerians will indeed make the choice of trying out another president again.

While the PDP keeps shopping for a perfect candidate, it should also shop for intellectual ideals and policies, a perfect president with narcissistic kitchen cabinet isn't noteworthy , the PDP has apologized, but the body language of most Nigerians doesn't seem to appreciate the apology as its seems pregnant with more selfish reasons than having the citizenry's interest at heart.

And to the Buhari fans(Of which I am) , Buhari has done his best, but again, his emphasis on physical development over human development is glaring and one wonders how the country will be in the next four years if high security budgets supercedes poor educational budgets?

If not for our weak tribal and ethnic mentality, it isn't compulsory for a region to rule for two terms. If indeed, Good is intended by leaders for all citizens, much priority is meant to be placed on Service to God and Humanity than on narcissistic demands prevalent in our society today.

As 2019 approaches, I wish Nigerians make choices and decisions based on the candidates' personality, thoughts, dreams, aims and objectives than on the temporal joys of rice , a bottle of oil and 'filthy' lucre.
We should also seek to be positive changes at wherever we find ourselves, and be the change we wish to see in Nigeria, honesty, transparency, diligence, Peacefulness, Sincerity and Love for all are all good virtues that every one of us should imbibe irrespective of religion, party affiliation or beliefs, we were first humans before we chose the aforementioned as a way of life.

Change is constant, if the APC have failed to key into what Change means, then they deserved to be Changed also.

God bless Nigeria, a Better Nigeria favors ALL.

Don't Force Your time zone

Today we will be using Mohamed Salah as a proof you shouldn't force your time zone.

Most time I hear people complaining how hard or how their mates has achieved a lot more than them, then I keep asking myself what could be the reason why some people will achieve a lot more than others.
I got to understand the only reason why your mates and others achieved a lot is simply Time zone

There's nothing you can do on this earth to force your time zone. It occurs when is time for it to occur, forcing your time zone to occur when it's not time for it to occur is like forcing a 5 months old pregnant women to deliver. What do you think will happen to her? Her child will die possibly she could lose her own her in the process. This is actually what happens when you force your time zone to occur when it's not it time to show.

Listen to me nobody can stop a 9 month pregnant women from giving birth to her child. That's how it is to you, nobody can stop you when it time for your time zone to show.

Mohamed Salah played many year few people knows who he was but what happened when his time zone showed?
Salah is now, known almost in every countries of this world not only he's known but he has made a name for his country.
When you reach the peek of your time zone everyone will know who you are not only who you are but where you originated from.

Don't Force Your time zone, dont force your time frame.

Barak Obama retired at 55 while Donald Trump resumed work at 70. Everyone is working on their Time Zone.

New York is 3 hours ahead of California, does that mean New York is faster than California?. Everyone is working on their Time Zone.

My high school classmate's first child just graduated from University I am yet to procreate one. grin shocked Everyone is working on their Time Zone.

Your friend are ahead of you doesn't mean they will finish the race before you.

Keep hustling, keep praying, Never force your time zone, never give up on your dreams and aims

You never know when your time zone will occur.

See you are battle field, we must make it in life

Amen.
God bless you bro

Education / Our Nigerian Kolo Mentality On Education. by teemanbastos(m): 8:10am On May 23, 2018
Kolo mentality, Kolo mentality, Kolo mentality (in fela's voice)...

Your thinking is You.. What you think Is what you are.

You hear one person say there's no job, the person who hears you tells another, another posts is as a comment, another reads it and believes it then keeps on spreading then thousands keep on saying, they keep on saying till they make it part of their lives, that one wey one write waec now vex, there's no job, then what's the point reading? The undergraduate vexes too and then they start imbibing the Spirit of laziness and living for the moment.

Chai! Guys wake up...
Do you know what diligence is atall? Do you think it's your paper you call certificate that pays or the VALUE you possess?
Davido earns 7M per show, An upcoming earns 50k per show, bros na Value matter pas.

It's Value that sells.
What is your value? Seun is rich today because the value he is imparting in Millions of people is reciprocated in Fame and of course financial gain.

That said and gone... You wrote JAMB, enter University, then year 1 you passed well, year 2 you follow guys go flex, then some Fs crept in then GPA begin dey slide, guy wakeup! Why you come university if not finish well? Yes we know you're into compere jobs, graphic designing etc but what's primary is primary. Ji Masun! Wake from your slumber, we know you're not gonna use the certificate but please wake up!
You went to school and finished with 1.0/5.0...wetin you come school come do?
The challenges have always been there but it's a personal decision... You think you're doing your lecturers a disfavor by stabbing class? Guy you dey do yourself o! Wake up!
In the next 10years...its either you're thanking God or regretting... Get back in track.
Let the primary be primary.
The Freelancing can always be done primarily after you have amassed enough knowledge in your course of study. Guy! Know the primary reason you're in school.

Someone is still there and wanted Law and was given English, you're in year 3 now and you've attended more shows than classes, chai... You can attend a million shows after you graduate sir.
Don't you know it will be harder if you don't do it now? Wake up! Wake up! Do that course of study well. Any thing worth doing is worth doing well.

Anything you're doing well today is for your own benefits.
Read your books and get educated, freelance later..
Increase your value.

Case 2: To all the bosses who only came to school to read only.. No fellowship! No sports! No extracurricular activities,
Why? With the extensive benefits life has to offer, you're just staying on one lane... Diversify! You write? Write to instill knowledge and value to others' looking up to you, you can talk? Develop your public speaking skills.. You can sing? Develop it and sing reasonably...
Diversify... Increase your value.

University is a ground to get educated in all schools of life... Marriage, Entrepreneurship, human management not just in acquiring a certificate.
When you complete your degree, you should be able to stand firm and say, Yes.. I'm indeed EDUCATED.
Poverty is a mentality, Remove that mentality.
Grow mentally as you grow in age and size.
You can't stay in your comfort zone and have VALUE to many... The more your value is of benefit to many, the more financial benefits, fame attached.

Romance / Our Nigerian 'kolo Mentality' On Sex. by teemanbastos(m): 7:35am On May 23, 2018
As I lie on my bed this morning under my cover cloth to minimize the tinging effects of this chilly weather on my skin.. I have decided to drop this.

You see In Nigeria today... Two things are highly glorified..
Money! And Sex!.

Why are most people thinking the same way
? Let me think differently.

Sex was set up for a deeper expression of love, it connects physically, emotionally and spiritually since that's the total make up of a man.

Today.. The pervading mentality is that the number of girls a guy is able to sleep it is a sign of strength?
From teenage years, it's a natural thing for peers to see those who are bold enough to speak with girls as 'bold and strong', those who can't are shamed and bullied as weak.
What has this resulted into?
The ones who were labeled weak simply get older with this inner urge to prove themselves strong, so when they leave the auspices of parents and guardians, the hatred for being seen as weak leads them to drugs which makes them have an aura of strength which is absolutely a lie, then under these influences, they learn the acts of lying to girls freely, 'I love you', 'I can't live without thinking about you' , 'I can't do without you' .... Of course, girls whose makeup naturally show emotions are easily moved and fall for these words, the guys eventually have their ways and they enjoy the act of releasing spermatozoa, the girls who don't place much emphasis on the sex as the love aspect want the 'professed love' to continue but the guy's actions says otherwise. ...he obviously was never interested in the girl but only interested in proving himself to be strong to peers, he deceived the girl and was only interested in his selfish reasons and fame to peers, the feeling of 'I laid that girl', 'I slept with her' etc. But since guys don't know how ladies think, they care less of how she feels. .. But I'm asking you as a guy, how would you feel if you were duped of all your life's savings? Pained! Deflated!
But that's exactly how you make girls feel if you lied to them about loving them and it was just to put your organ in hers.
But there is a consequence which is generally happening today. Read on.

Now.. People believe strength lies in the number of girls you sleep with? Unfortunately the real truth is if you grew up with low self esteem, it's only normal you think this way but it isn't like that.
The more girls you sleep with, the lower your Dignity, your respect and the poorer your mindset.
You should know high self esteem isn't gotten from others but built by personal conscious efforts of building yourself and good and sound values.
churches, books, conferences, elders are all there for us to learn from but we see these helpful people and materials as BURDENS? Why are we living mediocre?

Case 2: As a guy who as a boy wasn't the timid type per say, now seriously got into love when older, you spent your money, you visited etc then alas the girl you did all those for suddenly changed tone, she left you, she dumped you for another... Then you felt the pain, you even cried.. Waoh! Then you swore to take your pound of flesh..
And vowed to start sleeping around.. Arghhh! Bros I understand the pain but stop destroying yourself oooo...
Sleeping around no pay oooo... Having sex indiscriminately no pay. There's a saying that 'if an handshake passes the elbow, it has become another thing'
Once you've started having sex with more than one person.. Na wahala o.. Everything has a repercussion, think of your posterity, do you want them to be suffering because of their ancestors' mistakes? No one sees tomorrow... But all these actions are gradually growing and once they are not curtailed, it becomes a great tree and is difficult to cut off.
Your dignity is restricted, most times you'll have traded your birthright and you would be unaware, money doesn't stay in your hands for long? You're not progressing as you should? Sicknesses have now become a norm and you know it hasn't been like this before? You're now weak intellectually? Maybe you've had sex and lost important virtues naturally embedded in you over a 'plate of pottage'. I hope if you eventually change, you'll be able to recover lost grounds.

Case 3: As a lady, you're Naturally more emotional, while a guy is moved by what he sees, the breasts and bum bum, the bigger, the more he thinks on inserting his penis into a hole and release sperm and feel excited and go on to the next girl..... Etc you as a lady, you're emotional, you like a guy maybe because of his nature-cool, lovely, nice voice etc but the first guy you had something to do with broke your heart, you cried your eyes out, you healed badly... Then the second guy... Immediately you slept with him, you couldn't control your urges again...
Then the sexcapades started, then you thought of it yourself... Men don't like the individual, they like the face, the boobs, the buttocks, lemme package myself well and kuku make money, buy fanciful bags, travel to Dubai, afterall... Allof them are scumbags and let me use what I have to enjoy life.. And that's how some have lost their womb, and their destinies.
you have to stop. For how long? Do you think you would forever remain young and never get old? What happens when you get old? What investments would you now turn to
? Come out by a strong desire to and prayers.

Consequences: while my rambling may be tasking to the reader, i realized that for every effects, there is an underlying cause, most times many of us live and place our conclusions on effects and that's narrow-minded, you have to consider the cause.. Dangote is rich(effect), many simply want to be rich by any means but how many have considered that it took years, sweats, failures, breakdowns, plannings (Cause) before he could be rich
? CAUSE AND EFFECTS!
, the cases written above highlight alot of reasons why sex is widely interpreted, a gap in love, acceptance, family most times have led us to looking for ways to fill up this gap for happiness, we then result into a Kolo mentality.
See guys, Sleeping with many girls is a sign of weakness, out of billions of goodies the female gender has to offer, viewing them as sex objects is actually demeaning.
Let us regain our respect back, Respect is reciprocal, respect others and In doing so, you'll get respected, reconstruct your mentality.
The whites with a better mentality see women as human beings and not sex objects, for a man to marry a woman who already has a child simply goes beyond thinking about sex..
Let us remove our thinking on sex when we sight a woman and redirect it to country, personal development and an indeed good life.
As for the ladies, it's never too late to start a new rebuilding process, that mentality of living to be a wife only or to rely entirely on a man should be minimised, get something done... Women are Helpers and Help meets not Parasites.

In Nigeria today, our Kolo mentality on Money and Sex is alarming. Let's be transformed by the renewing of our minds.

Indeed there's a consequence for every action (Law of karma and Newton's third law)...
May we sabi wetin we dey do o. You're sleeping around and yet the inner peace and fulfillment isn't there? What's the point? Are you doing so just to feel that you belong? In the next 15years... Everyone go dey on his own and I hope you wouldn't start regretting actions you're taking now because it's inevitable if you don't desire nd pray for a change.
Be more interested in Cause than Effects.
And be wise.
