Religion / On Suicide by teemanbastos(m): 2:21pm On May 25, 2020
On Suicide.

Suicide is killing oneself, for an human being to kill himself means the situations around him or her must have overbearing.
Having suicidal thoughts are not rare occurrences but one's belief that things would be better on overpowers such thoughts and life goes on.
But when one ACTS on those thoughts, then it's evident all hope had been lost.

Before suicide is acute depression.
'I am tired of it all, frustrations everywhere', ' the world hates me, better I leave it', 'its better to die than live' etc when thoughts like this and similar to this overpower a man, then the inevitable happens.

What about Pills and Medication?

Science is wonderful, it found a way out to help people prone to depression and mind disorders. Synthetic drug formulas as antidepressants came into being.
We human beings are biological and thus are affected by emotions as happiness, joys and sadness, science then discovered that these emotions are stimulated in us by the excitation of these hormones: dopamine, oxytocin, serotonin and endorphins. (when you suddenly meet your loved one, what you feel is as a result of excited hormones).
These antidepressants therefore exploits the biochemical configuration of the brain and thus depressed people have a better mood, concentrate more and sleep better when used.
Marijuana, cocain, heroin act this way, when ingested, inhaled or injected into the body, it stimulates these hormones and keeps the user calm or makes the user ecstatic.

The limitations of these physical aids is that it does not address the root situations of frustration and lack of hope caused by emotional dissatisfaction. It promotes addiction instead.
All drugs are healthy if not abused.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Acute depression has no drugs, it stems from emotional pains and dissatisfactions.
The perceived way out of committing suicide NEVER solves the problem, we can't kill feelings, can we?

All human beings are souls, we only have a body which is dependent in function on our souls (minds and emotions).
It is not the body that thinks, so killing the body therefore never solves the pain of the (thinking and feeling) soul which never dies.
Frustrated souls commit suicide because they in their ignorance and good intentions too believed it was the way out.
Although most of the times, their abrupt departure usually leaves their loved ones pained and dejected.

What happens to those who commit suicide?
Do they go to hell fire?
They were in hell of thoughts and emotions in the first place, that's why they desperately found a way out in suicide, nobody in heaven and bliss on earth would think of suicide. Loving life is heaven.
They truncated their journey on earth and committed suicide because they wanted Peace and Joy.
As the rule of life, seek and you shall find, those souls will keep on seeking till they find. They will get what they want however the means.
Reincarnation means that these souls will still be given the opportunity to come back in a physical body to relive their lives.
Souls never die! The body dies and becomes dust but the soul that thinks and feels never dies.

Suicide is therefore absolutely needless, it looks like the easiest way out but is no way in the first place
.
Living out your life in full is the greatest gift of living.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The Healthy Alternative to suicide is Salvation.
Salvation is simply to find a meaning to life.
Life is a gift and if we could all see the mad rush of souls to get this gift, we would forever be grateful for the opportunity to live.
Finding a meaning to life gives you boundless energy that makes living worthwhile.

How to find Salvation?

Salvation is found by getting to know your true core.
since birth all humans have simply flowed with what we met on ground and therefore defined ourselves based on the influences of the society! Not bad to do so but never be overwhelmed.
If we were born into a society that gave meaning to farming and family, we evaluated ourselves based on how well we could farm.
If we were born into a society that glorified achievements, we evaluated ourselves based on that.
If we evaluate ourselves well, we clap for ourselves but never remain content because we either want to remain ahead or want to keep up, we become dissatisfied even when we have enough.
If we find ourselves 'lacking", we become disenchanted by thinking ourselves insignificant.
Salvation shows us the way of living- the way of living best for you.
if I know who I am, I wouldn't be moved by what is outside.

Men forget that they didn't make entry into the world at the same time and overburden themselves with burdens they created for themselves - seeking to be rich, seeking to be celebrated, seeking to be among the most important, seeking ephemeral things that should be their servants not masters.
Many don't need wealth or positions or do-or-die lifestyles, many need a meaning. All want a meaningful life.

Salvation is spirituality which is getting to know who you truly are.
Salvation is regeneration, enlightenment, knowing-your-inner-self, discovering your other self.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
This writing only seeks to throw light on an hitherto unenlightened area, giving every troubled soul as once was the writer to go further than he is now in the journey of spirituality.
Men's greatest search has been the search for meaning.
This writing shows the way leaving the reader to go all the way by himself or herself in exploring the truth that will set him free from the woes of life.

PS: If you are going through a highly depressive phase, fight on and conquer, greatness lie beyond depression.
Many great people have faced the same battles, they prevailed and went on to achieve mighty things on earth. You are never alone.
Faith is the victory that overcomes.

Nairaland / General / Wisdom Nuggets From May by teemanbastos(m): 1:33pm On May 24, 2020
There is this amazing discovery about life I realized and this is it, that unobtainable things(at the present) appear extremely attractive.

In secondary school, there was this concept I learnt about light refraction in physics –the mirage– which is explained thus ;when traveling along a tarred road on a sunny day, far ahead appears a pool of water, it looks alluring that you can't wait to get to the point where you could see it closely and even touch it. The thing is you never get there no matter how fast your automobile travels.

Another example is this, when traveling on a big body of water, like the ocean, when you stand on the deck of the yacht and look beyond you, it appears that the sea and the sky meet ; to really experience and see this meeting point, you convince yourself that with an increase in speed, you will finally reach the point where they do meet and take a selfie –only that you never reach such point– another mirage-like experience.

Another personal example, when I was in primary school, secondary school looked so attractive - no class teachers, free periods, a much larger football field! My total happiness appeared to lie in getting out of primary school and into secondary school. I did get into secondary school and I discovered reality : the mathematics of secondary was even harder! Hehehehe! And to think I thought my total happiness lied in secondary school yet I had to spend more hours solving sums? if you can relate, you'll know that's far from happy!

The next fantasy kicked in, University is the way to happiness - no teachers on your neck, freedom, no school gate barring you! Sure this is it - but reality humbled the son of man!

I always desired to be an adult when I was a youngster! Now that I am an adult, I want to be a youngster back! Funny scenario because I again realized adulthood is responsibility.

Although, reality doesn't reflect fantasies as much as we would, we never do stop fantasizing! I guess that's just how life is.
The process is what life is all about, not the end product which is but a fleeting moment.

The most happiest and ecstatic moment when you achieve or acquire a goal is that singular microsecond, life simply goes on and your responsibilities double with the addition of that object of ecstasy!

You're happy when you buy a ride, but after that moment - get prepared to keep it in good working condition.
You're happy you got admitted, but after that moment - get ready to shoulder responsibilities.
You're happy you graduated - life just begun.
You're happy you got married - you just started a new life.

In simple terms, the process is life, the perks and joys experienced along the way are just encouragements i.e better living conditions, spouse, luxuries, friends, to keep you interested in life itself.

About Life? It goes on.

Remember that we're not so different after all, we all seek the same things.. good ends
The poor seek a better life
The rich seek expansion
The sick seek health
The barren seek fruits
The lifeless seek life
The frustrated seek a way out (either through suicide or salvation)
The little seek more
The fulfilled seek establishment...........

It is to this end I will answer a question

Why is it I wasn't born into a more privileged home/environment/society? maybe my life would have been better.
Well, you never know their challenges either!
Number 1 Rule of Life is 'never ever be deceived by what you see' no matter how beautiful or ugly it appears! You know why? Because life is in constant flux.
[Walk by Faith, Not by Sight] it's worth remembering, trust me!

There's this cliché "if everyone on earth were to bring their challenges to a table, at the end everyone would still prefer theirs and pick theirs from the table"
Infact your capacities can bear whatsoever you have, that's why you have it in the first place.
This is the reason for all these troubling questions : Comparison!
When you compare, you lose sight of reality.
Many of us today have fantastic bodies, but because we see people post theirs online and receive likes and comments, we feel insecured about our lot, shouldn't be! They worked hard to reach that point, do work hard and you'll get similar results.

JUST BECAUSE NOBODY HAS TOLD YOU THAT YOU HAVE A BEAUTIFUL FACE, VOICE, SHAPE OR DRAW WELL OR WRITE WELL OR SPEAK WELL doesn't mean you are or aren't. You growing up in a critical environment only means that you have the opportunity to turn things around for good by not living the past but building a better present that will lead to a tremendous future.

JUST BECAUSE EVERYONE ALSO PROCLAIMS YOU AS AWESOME, WONDERFUL, BEAUTIFUL doesn't mean you are or aren't ! Because ONLY YOU KNOW YOURSELF. Only you know how you feel.

Everything seen online is appealing because it feels good to have beautiful pictures and experiences shared with others.
But remember that we are all not so different, we feel the same emotions which is what makes us similar. Don't be so focused on the externalities forgetting the foundations which those externalities were built upon

Hardwork is the foundation to success.
Taking good care of yourself is the foundation to keeping fit.
Patience is the foundation of contentment.
Right thinking preserves oneself and relationships.
Charity is your core and the foundation of true ecstasy.
Wisdom is the true foundation of Life.

Life is to you what you define it to be, accept yourself and your lot in all entirety, that's Life!

Finally, I discovered that we all live from the Heart, meaning that if we all have the good knowledge and qualities we have in our heads in our hearts, then life would practically be easier to live! The journey I myself have begun to travel.

Religion / Why The Church Business Thrives In Africa by teemanbastos(m): 10:17pm On Apr 17, 2020
Why the Church business thrives in the Giant of Africa.

"There is a man in this room, you have been having these dreams.... in these dreams, you are building towers, rather like broadcasting towers...everywhere, all over the world. God is asking me to tell you, that He is the one giving you those dreams, and He is going to make it happen. He has also given you a new heart, you are going to have such compassion. Please come forward, if you are that man."
-[extracted from Strive Masiyiwa's How to build a multi-billion dollar business in Africa from scratch]

Strive Masiyiwa stepped out of a 500-member congregation in response to the Pastor's direct call and was prayed for. The prophecy came to pass, Masiyiwa subsequently overcame several hurdles to establish Econet: a reputable telecommunications giant.
Strive Masiyiwa is worth over 1.3 billion US Dollars today.
At this point I wish to ask the curious reader if the Pastor who gave that prophecy wouldn't be a happy recipient of Masiyiwa's generosity today?

Nigerians turned to religion that has grown extraordinarily attractive over the years beginning from the 70s. It thrived following the inadequacy of National leaders to meet basic expectations, religion soon became the best way out of personal woes following the healthy prospects of its charismatic leaders.

The Rise Of Religious Leaders.

The basis of all developments both personal and national lies in good deeds and goodness. At a time when superstitious beliefs founded on evils were the order of the day, certain chosen men of destiny rose up in a bid to change the order of things.
These men conversant with the unhealthy happenings of the day popularized by collective backwardness and stuntness of growth sought a way out, they sought God, found Him and proselytized their findings and answers.
Goodness they believed was the root and source of all prosperity - some majored on spiritual prosperity which involved setting people free from personal calamities and plagues, others on physical and material prosperity seeking to liberate the poor from poverty.
These men started with little or nothing and had very few if any, who shared their visions, their spouses most of the time turned out as closest confidants. Promoting their newly found faiths by transmitting their enlightened ideas into the minds of a darkened population required intense efforts, discipline and prayers - apparently a change from established traditional and orthodox practices to a pentecostal culture was not easy. They battled discouraging situations at the beginning, prevailed and pressed on.
It wasn't until years after starting off did they begun to reap the fruits of their labours, and they surely still reap the fruits of the laborious efforts they put in twenty, thirty and even forty years ago today.
{starting a business, enterprise is tough at the beginning, getting patronage and sales can appear like rocket science, but with persistence and discipline momentum is reached. When momentum is reached, the profits soar high and higher depending on whether momentum is maintained or not}

People started coming when they clearly saw the efficacies of goodness exemplified by this men of God, those with physical defects who came in contact with this men received wholeness, those who were beaten and battered became sane and victorious, paupers became givers when they acted on words (of knowledge) they received from this saving charismatic preachers, these settled people sooner became free PR for the religious leaders and the institutions they represented. When momentum was achieved, trickles of people and material prosperities alike sooner turned to downpours and then to overflow - the collective church became SUPER RICH.

The Charismatic Church Leaders had proved theoretically and practically that they had a solution the government lacked to solve the problems of the common man : by calling on higher powers on behalf of members who received respite and experienced improved situations, church business begun to boom and received high nationwide approval ratings.

The Church solved a huge problem and it got rewarded big.

Its ability to identify local needs with pinpoint accuracy, meet the longings of the grassroots and provide a feel of family unity for members sealed its mark in the minds of Nigerians and by extension Africans. It can thus be said that church leaders command a much respected and massive following than political leaders because of the more positive effects attached to them ahead of their political counterparts. The guess that goodness had attached to it multifarious blessings paid off big!

The way to respectability, likability and reverence for a leader remains the same: do good for, by and to the people always.

Criticisms.

Although it is unlikely that faithful adherents will criticize their leaders who double as their mentors, religious outsiders have criticized religious leaders opinions on tithings, use of luxury and flashy toys at members' expense.
"the monies wasted on these toys could have been used to build schools, build roads and to alleviate the situation of the poor" critics say.
This line brings to mind Judas Iscariot a famed disciple of Christ who lambasted Mary for wasting a costly ointment on his master Jesus' feet, insinuating that the money used to acquire such ointment could have been expended on the poor, a logical statement in itself except that the intent of Judas was self-serving rather than altruistic - he was only interested in having money in his bag.
The intent of critics matter in these situations.

These Church Leaders are very much aware of how they got to where they are today - by looking into the affairs of others' i.e by loving others' as themselves.
Only by this was their wealth built in the first place, only by this can it be sustained and increased, so they still very much care for the poor and look to their needs, logistical shortcomings are taken into consideration by home fellowship units, the smallest units of the church system.
They may not be skilled in political propagandizing which blows its trumpets when meeting local needs.
They build schools with excellent facilities and are involved as school administrators in the daily running of these institutions, it is worthy to note that their institutions surpass government institutions in certain areas.
On acquirement of private toys and luxurious jets, it can be inferred that they have grown so large to afford those toys and all its attendant sustentation, it should also be noted that members of healthy financial standing can conveniently purchase and maintain these toys on behalf of their spiritual leaders, ultimately these toys can be used to bring in more financial gains and further its goals across the globe.
Acquiring these toys is a matter of personal choice and taste, a spiritual leader is due his honor - reaping where he has sown not where he hasn't sown.
The way to riches remain the same, identify a problem (as peculiar to you) humanity faces and solve it - anyone can be rich if he can successfully meet these conditions.

Objective criticisms are a solid basis for continual improvement, one spiritual leaders can critically assess and act upon, destructive criticisms on the other hand have self-destructive malicious intents and thus receive no valuable responses.

In Conclusion.

Religion thrives in Africa because religious leaders have the basic knowledge and know-how to solving problems, the tool used being the SPOKEN WORD(an abstract tool), working organizations and countries that have thriving systems also solve problems with a totally different tool- Concrete tool. Well-developed systems utilize both.

Cooperation not disintegration(of its working systems) is the sure way to strengthening Nigeria and Africa at large.

Knowledge sharing is a great junction to start off, if the principles being traded by blooming religious organizations can be acquired and incorporated by national governments, different outcomes that will ultimately lead to progress germinates.
Knowledge sharing requires that masks of ignorance and I-know-it-all mentalities both being different extremes on a singular scale of pride, fall off by allowance of honest assessments to be carried out in order to root out ignorance in place of rewarding knowledge, this shouldn't be a retrogressive competition but a progressive collaboration - and if the interests of the common man is truly at heart, there need be no discord.

The solutions to national problems are easy when we humble and trust ourselves enough to ask help.
When help is requested from a foreigner, he will give such help with the expectations that his interests be put into consideration, the implication being that full benefits are not received by the host party.
In Juxtaposition, when help is requested amongst ourselves, all benefits ensued is collectively ours. Trust and belief in ourselves and ability is primal.

Let's support our working systems, extract their working formulas and apply them to our struggling systems.
Soon all wobbly systems stabilize and we are prosperous.

Great one OP.

Preparation is vital, have good information about the job description you're applying for and the organization then blend in how you wish to further the organization's aims with your personal knowledge and talents. Be more focused on the organization than yourself! This increases your acceptance ratio.

Confidence, a pleasing appearance and understanding of yourself helps greatly! Success

Once you are perceived as one who knows his craft well, a healthy remuneration falls in place easily.

Health / Covid-19 Siege Is Over by teemanbastos(m): 2:38am On Apr 01, 2020
COVID-19 Siege is Over.

The World should prepare to get back to work, break is over!

Nothing is new under the heavens.

Historical Story [Extracted from the Bible]

King David the Greatest King to have ruled in Israel was faced with a similar crisis in his reign.
He decided to number his army, a decision made with a selfish intent behind it. He successfully carried out that desire and was faced with the consequences which was a pestilence (a virus you may call it) sweeping through the land and destroying wonderfully for 3 days, about 70 000 able-bodied men died.

Here below is a more detailed description of how the events unfolded.

And the LORD spake unto Gad, David's seer, saying,

Go and tell David, saying, "Thus saith the LORD, I offer thee three things: choose thee one of them, that I may do it unto thee."

So Gad came to David, and said unto him, Thus saith the LORD, Choose thee "Either three years' famine; or three months to be destroyed before thy foes, while that the sword of thine enemies overtaketh thee; or else three days the sword of the LORD, even the pestilence, in the land, and the angel of the LORD destroying throughout all the coasts of Israel. Now therefore advise thyself what word I shall bring again to him that sent me."

And David said unto Gad , "I am in a great strait: let me fall now into the hand of the LORD; for very great are his mercies: but let me not fall into the hand of man."

So the LORD sent pestilence upon Israel: and there fell of Israel seventy thousand men.

And God sent an angel unto Jerusalem to destroy it: and as he was destroying, the LORD beheld, and he repented him of the evil, and said to the angel that destroyed, It is enough, stay now thine hand. And the angel of the LORD stood by the threshingfloor of Ornan the Jebusite.

-I Chronicles 21 v 9 - 15.

Conclusions.

Certain events occur in life with causes hid behind a veil to the common man, the men of war who lost their lives were not involved in David's misjudged decision but suffered from the consequences, although King David likely celebrated them later on as national heroes.
Different Sacrifices of appeasement were offered by King David and the Angel that carried out the job finally sheathed his sword.

Israel was forgiven, as the Present day World now is.

Different reasons may have arisen over the source of the present day pestilence, the sources are irrelevant.
Why? Nothing succeeds except the Owner of the universe allows it.

The World's healing process has begun and we the living should praise and honour him that lives for ever, whose dominion is an everlasting dominion, and whose kingdom is from generation to generation as the earth's honour and brightness returns gradually.
The earth is established and its excellent majesty restored in fulness.

To buttress the OP's views...

I read this story and i laughed... i laughed hard because marriage is complex and is often more that what meets the eye.

Do you know the couple's story? They alone, know why they act in the manner they do. Look! how a woman or wife react in marriage is borne more of the input of the husband. What you see is what you get.

Let me ask you a question? Do you think the woman would've reacted the same way, if the man is often of the habit of squandering family cash on irrelevant things, stays away from the house with girlfriends, ignores the wife, does not carry the wife along in major decisions and does not take care of the home?

Young men, don't read hastily. The man the OP depicted up there is a responsible man. Most women align with their husbands easily, when the man is doing the needful.

The man has done enough for the reward you saw for few moments. Men, that reward doesn't come automatically. You work for it!!!

My response is not for the OP, because s/he has done justice with the points given thereafter. My response is for men who might read hastily, and assume the wife's behaviour is follow-come.
you spoke well sir.

General Abacha, apart from his kleptomaniac tendencies and abuse of human rights, would have been a great leader.

During his time, Nigeria did not borrow a dime, there was no religious crisis or security problems, there was PTF and power was more stable than now. He did not attend most UN meetings, Nigeria was a power bloc in Africa.

Abacha had a Vision 2010 document which had a clear road map towards industrialization and development of Nigeria. Unfortunately, Obasanjo threw it away because he hated Abacha. I think Abacha would have been the champion and executer of restructuring. The regional blocks we speak of today: South-South, North-East, etc, were all Abacha's creation. I hope in our lifetime, we would have a leader with balls like General Abacha...without his predilection for abuse of office.

Abacha administration became the first to record unprecedented economic achievements:[10] he oversaw an increase in the country's foreign exchange reserves from $494 million in 1993 to $9.6 billion by the middle of 1997, reduced the external debt of Nigeria from $36 billion in 1993 to $27 billion by 1997.

He is largely revered for achieving this, in comparison no other administration before or after the inception of the Fourth Nigerian Republic had been able to achieve this. Abacha also constructed between 25-100km of urban road in major cities such as Kano, Gusau, Benin, Funtua, Zaria, Enugu, Kaduna, Aba, Lagos, Lokoja and Port Harcourt.

Abacha brought all the controversial privatisation programs of the Ibrahim Babangida administration to a halt, reduced an inflation rate of 54% inherited from Ernest Shonekan to 8.5% between 1993 and 1998, all while the nation's primary commodity, oil was at an average of $15 per barrel

Your reason like one whose gray matter contains traces of cow dung

Let me summarize his administration briefly.

General Sani Abacha's plot in the nigerian political terrain was noteworthy.

In his regime, the structural adjustment policy was suspended, perceived military rivals were politically paralyzed, career politicians were incarcerated including Chief MKO Abiola after he declared himself president. Influential politicians like General Olusegun Obasanjo, General Shehu Yar'adua were imprisoned for alleged involvement in a coup to unseat him.

In his regime, Nigeria was secure as he disincentivized lawlessness and crime, he suppressed dissenting movements, civil societies went against international expectations by going ahead with the hanging of Ken Saro-Wiwa, the Ogoni activist.

As a de facto Leader, he achieved several economic feats overseeing an increase in the country's foreign exchange reserves, reduced external debts by 1843% and brought down inflation rates, he sumptuously fed on the oil profits accrued from the country's prosperous oil fields stashing monies running into billions of united states dollars all over european banks which are still being recovered in the 21st century by subsequent democratic administrations.

General Abacha reorganized the nation's territory into 6 geopolitical zones and created six more states. He notably had a poor human rights record.

He died in controversial circumstances on June 8 1998.

Religion / On Desires, Discipline And Asking Pertinent Questions by teemanbastos(m): 2:09pm On Jan 12, 2020
On Desires, Self-discipline and Asking the right questions.

Desires are wonderful gifts of nature, they keep one's life journey interesting.
Desires are like flames of fire, the hotter, the more intensive and the more intensive, the more it consumes one's attention, a desire could be so intense that the person who desires feels that such desire when attained would be the answer to all of his or her life questions.
Alas, when such desire is met, another desire sooner comes in place of the former and the fierce intensity of the previous desire is forgotten, when such fellow now thoughtfully reminisces over his previous pursuit, he wonders how he weirdly thought that such singular desire if attained would be the answer to all his life questions.
For example, if you have ever desired a job, money, an admission to study, a car, a spouse, you do know that the moments preceding the attainment of those desires were moments of hopes, prayers, intercessions but sooner after their realization, life continued and new desires were birthed.
It is then necessary to know that all desires would ultimately be fulfilled, one shouldn't be so hasty and in the process jeopardize the present. Our positions today are answers to previous desires, we should remain thankful, content and wholesome.
Desires are good, remaining thankful in the present while being prudent in subsequent life pursuits is even better.

On Discipline

A renowned Billionaire was asked a clever question, 'what is the secret behind your world standing today?'
He answered promptly 'Vision and Discipline', that billionaire is Donald John Trump.
Discipline is the bridge between wishes and results, self-discipline is many attimes what a man or woman basically needs to get things done in his or her life, a lot of wishes a man has, all are readily attained when he is self-disciplined.
Self-discipline is what keeps focused and steady, a student who disciplines himself to study will easily ace his tests and exams, a man who disciplines his thoughts and emotions will easily achieve set goals, a woman who disciplines herself will easily have what she desires, a businessman who disciplines himself will succeed effortlessly.
Self-discipline is developed when you are consumed by a particular goal or purpose, no one need tell a young schoolboy to go do his laundry or keep his body clean if he has personally set the goal to be the neatest in the school, his goal makes him self-driven.
Discipline is fundamental. If you discipline yourself to do the hard things, life would be easy for you but if you're soft on yourself, life would balance the scales by being hard on you.

On Asking the pertinent questions.
Two young men came across the goddess of luck at a time and were given a free hand to ask anything they wanted, one asked for luck, money, good properties,a good wife while the other made an odd request 'can I have what makes you the goddess of luck?'
Both got what they requested for!
In life, we all get what we request for, infact life would appear unjust if it doesn't give everyone what he or she requests for and life is so fair enough that it doesn't discriminate - ask for health, you get health, ask for love, you get love, ask for hate, you get hate.
Wishing and asking are like a 30cm ruler, with both at the extreme ends, many simply remain at the 1cm mark wishing in their minds but never asking with their mouths.
A man's life position is an exact product of his mouth.
Wishing health but speaking sickness, the universe hears and impartially gives an answer.
A child who wishes to get a bicycle and doesn't speak out is only wishing, if he is scared of being denied because he was denied before, his persistent asking will get the bicycle for him through his parents or any person from the Creator, who must give him what he wants so he can let them be.
Many simply stop asking after being denied once and this is interpreted as maybe such a desire or wish isn't necessary anymore or has been exchanged for another.
For everyone that asketh receiveth!
Ask believing, for when you ask believing, your body language corresponds and begin to act in accordance with you having received that desire already and since you have positioned yourself to receive, you do receive it.
For whatever it is that you ever need or desire is AVAILABLE already and in ABUNDANCE- house, job, good woman, good health, wealth, they are all available and are seeking you aggressively more than you could ever think.
Ask aright and you'll get aright, ask bountifully and you will receive bountifully.

Happy Sunday.

Politics / Open Letter To My Fellow Nigerian Youths by teemanbastos(m): 10:14pm On Jan 09, 2020
OPEN LETTER TO MY FELLOW NIGERIAN YOUTHS PART 1.
Friends, colleagues and comrades I salute you all.

Growing up in Nigeria has been challenging, challenges day in, day out and as it appears we have all come to adapt to the challenging situations and this has built our resilience.

As I remember my younger years, the song we always sung when we marched into our humble classrooms “……parents listen to your children, we are the leaders of tomorrow….” clearly rings in my head, and I wondered in puzzlement at the boisterousness of those innocent days vis-à-vis the realities of our present days, ‘are we indeed the leaders of tomorrow?’

We were implored to study in school, obey the teachers and civic rules and thereafter the jobs would be waiting, the prescience in us believed those words readily. We all went through the pubertal period of secondary education which culminated in the Senior School Certificate Examinations and the eminent JAMB, those who were fortunate enough went at it once and made-the-grade, some had to go twice or even more – we must say kudos to those our fellow compatriots for their never-give-up attitude.
Scaling one challenge precedes the onset of another, tertiary education had its own twists, in the process of being shaped from adolescence into maturity, we had to grapple with the changes that were taking place inside us as well as in our external environments and we did manage, forfeiting comfy sleeps for the brash colds in the lecture theatres and the numerous delicious foods we gave up in place of cassava flakes( we dey call am garri (sic) ) and concoctions, those of us who preferred the as-it-dey-hot went for it, in all we were serving as an avenue to meeting the economic needs of our fellow strong colleagues in the foods business who were supporting their education from the profits, some of us forfeited our holidays to meet tasking academic demands.

The grades are then released and suddenly the law of inverse proportions we learnt in secondary school that looked uninteresting begin to make some sense and look practicable, it appears that the more we study or read, the lesser grades we get, what can we do? maybe our Ivy league schools think bloating our egos with grandiose grades will augment our complacency, so they result to applying the laws of inverse proportions, can we blame them? Maybe not, those who groomed them thought so too.

After the hustles, bustles, intrigues of school life, we finally sit for that final exams in matching hoods, we write our final exams in gladness not necessarily borne out of perfect answers to all the gargantuan questions lying in front of us but out of pure joy we aren’t going to be in such similar situations ever again – tensed examination conditions. Our joys know no bounds as we cheerfully sign-out in grand style, dance in exhilaration, wine and make hearty toasts to the end of a rather enthralling period, we celebrate our invincibility at the faces of numerous tertiary educational challenges and we are literally on top and ready to go conquer the outside world.

The National Youth Service call need be obeyed, we are excited to wear the imprinted white tops, khaki trousers and the brown boots, we savour the moments of the three weeks’ camp, mixing and interacting with our fellow friends from all regions of the world representing their prestigious institutions, we are grouped into a more smaller platoon network where mutual joys, cooperation and unity are expressed fulfilling the goal of the program. The youth service also brings with it its twists, some of us get to encounter that special boy or girl we’ve be waiting for all this while, some of us are blessed with bouncy babies and some make good personal discoveries, in all making the experience a fantastic one. Since what has a beginning must surely have an end, the stipulated three weeks is over and we have to part ways and report at our primary points of assignment, suddenly, the winds of adulthood come blowing into our faces with full force.

What is Next?

Adulthood will come whether we’re ready to receive it or not, while one of its blessings include a decrease in intense desire for social acceptance and approval, we must sooner come to terms to the truth that our life solely lies in our hands as we reap the results of the choices we make daily.

Here comes a time when suddenly our besties are prone to been snatched away by Prince Handsome(s), our guys and buddies are suddenly relocating to begin their lives elsewhere, it then begin to occur to us that our cherished friendships built over the years appear to be crumbling down, but maybe sometimes, some things have to crumble so it can give way for new things to build up, and yes twenty kids can’t play together for twenty years!

The truth be told, time flies away as fast as the speed of light, the hazy winds of adulthood brings to our faces that reality is here, when we were much younger and innocuously enthusiastic about life, we believed we could all be medical doctors, surgeons, lawyers, engineers, special thanks to the appealing and alluring appearances we were exposed to about these hallowed professions, but now that reality is here before our eyes, we take a look at our abilities, knowledgebase, skillsets, talents and see where they are applicable, we begin to see things for what they truly are.

While our life paths are now becoming clearer, we begin to process and understand the feelings and emotions we experience day in, day out, we process the feelings attached to our friendships, relationships and the benefits they give to us, our personal lives become main focus, we want to have good financial head starts, we are also concerned about our health, work and overall well-being, we might not have fully prepared ourselves for what adulthood has suddenly thrown in our face but we will surely learn at the job.

At a time where the uncertainty of jobs face us, the older generation at the center of power gave us the advice to pursue entrepreneurship, we wonder at the intention of such advice giving that we were initially told to school and acquire requisite education while the rest would simply take care of itself, many of us have spent a minimum of 16 years in study while following the nationally accepted 6-3-3-4 template for education, entrepreneurship tales coming at a time when we should already be in cozy offices sounds a bit absurd. Should we even accept the advice, how many years could it take us to rival the entrepreneurship giants, when will our soaps rival those of Proctor & Gamble or our paints rival Portland’s, we are left to wonder if our leaders truly have the holistic picture of things.

Not all of us are suited for entrepreneurship duties, the self-starters have kick-started their businesses long ago and we are happy they are doing well, we are also pleased with our fellow comrades in the entertainment industry who keep us energized and sustain the laughter on our faces, even our colleagues in the sports industry both home and abroad keep the smiles hopeful on our cute faces, we have learnt resilience and adaptability and not only have we learnt it, we have mastered it so well, these qualities have definitely kept us optimistic and sooner or later, the pretty dreams we have nurtured in our minds would become sweet realities for we will be in good states of mind to experience them all.

My friends, it is very true that our feelings have been hurt in matters pertaining to learning and studying by virtue of the angst, pains, disgruntlement that we might have experienced while going through the Nigerian educational system, we have then sworn to dump books and by extension the essence of learning at our university gates after our convocations, my fellow comrades, let us not do so. The future is brighter than ever and the sun is newer each day, a lot of opportunities lie on the streets and only by continuous learning through reading of enriching books, listening to good podcasts can we live up to the weighty expectations required of us, examples of these opportunities before us include blissful marriages and families, healthy jobs and careers, good children, enjoyable personal lives. Amassing as much knowledge we can on all these areas will open our eyes to the luxurious opportunities we had been oblivious to, our life journey is easily navigated when we are in knowledge and self-education will further brighten up our paths to everlasting greatness.

As I end this open letter, I ask myself again ‘are we the leaders of tomorrow?’

Yes we all are indeed the leaders of tomorrow! Industries are seeking well-qualified captains, states and comity of nations are seeking visionaries and men of industry, world-class corporations are seeking clearheaded Chief Executive Officers, our people are seeking premium restaurants to feed their bodies with healthy foods, our countrymen needs good and enviable services in all sectors, who will rise up to these magnanimous challenges if not us ?

At times, we might ask ourselves what our place is, our place is secured and grounded, we are a species not found elsewhere on the earth, we are as peculiar as we came and we must remain encouraged.
We must keep alive the Nigerian dream in our hearts and minds for the torches of making the Nigerian dream a reality lies in our hands and we cannot afford to fail the generations coming after us.

Nairaland / General / Get The Maximum Best From 2020 by teemanbastos(m): 8:11pm On Jan 01, 2020
In 332 BC, Alexander the Great was on his destined quest to conquer the world, and he found himself in Africa, Egypt to be precise.
He previously had plans to extend and consolidate his kingdom to Africa, he sought for a location that would serve as a base for his expanding kingdom and came to a very large expanse of land.

One of his men then gave an advice, the huge expanse of land which they just stumbled upon should be marked out with the use of grains they had in their storehouse, this was intended to size up the portion of land that the Great Alexander had chosen, it sounded pleasant and Alexander commanded his men to act on the advice.
The men did as instructed and went to bed after, Alexander and his men woke the next morning and were surprised to see that they couldn't find the demarcated portions, the grains that served as landmarks had disappeared! They failed to account for the Egyptian birds - this didn't seem like a good Omen.

Alexander the Great, at first shaken by such a sign refused to accept things at face value, he sent for the Egyptian magicians and sorcerers who had understanding of occurrences like this, they came and gave the interpretation - the expanse of land would attract people from all cultures and nations, would be a very prosperous and bountiful land that even the birds of that city would not go hungry.

Alexander, now relaxed after the interpretation, went on to establish his kingdom in the land, which grew to an enormous city (Alexandria) and became the epicenter of world economic activities.

---------------------------------------------------------------

A new year is really new when we begin to see with new eyes and renewed minds.
Physically, a new year has no new changes attached - same 24 hours, same sun, same moon, same cyclic weather conditions, but we are happy to see it because newness promises freshness and renewal which is best consolidated by seeing with freshened and new minds.

Alexander was perturbed when he woke up to such an incident, this was a time to break new grounds and not remain restricted, he refused to accept things as they used to be, he wouldn't leave that expanse of land the way he met it, he took a decision to see with new eyes and then the idea to call experienced sorcerers who had understanding came and he eventually got desired results.

Remember, changes in personal life are only as effective as the changes made in the kind of thoughts we think and not necessarily changes in times and seasons.

An aggressive demand for the best by getting angry with mediocrity which stem from an inaccurate way of looking at the world is a necessity to break new grounds in this new year.

Let us see and think different!
We have all things to the extent that we see them inside us - seeing more of Love, Power, Strength, Abundance, Joy, Happiness, Optimism, Energy, Beauty, Peace, Friendliness, Nobility and Wealth will further strengthen our possessions of life blessings.

Happy New Decade!
A prosperous and a glorious 2020 for us all.

Religion / The Beauty Of Understanding by teemanbastos(m): 7:43pm On Dec 25, 2019
Understanding.

The ability to judge situations accurately, it is a necessity for successful living.
The level of understanding concerning a particular subject determines the level of outstanding achievements in that subject.

Aliko Dangote is prosperously outstanding in business because he has a superb understanding of business and financial principles, he necessarily might not be the most knowledgeable in business or have a Doctor of Philosophy degree in business but he sure has an awesome understanding of business principles and the effects of that is seen by all and sundry.

David Oyedepo has a wonderful understanding of faith matters, prosperity and educational matters and this understanding is evidenced in his healthy achievements in church and educational affairs, a pointer to the truth that a house built on a hill cannot be hid.
These examples amidst many show that understanding is crucial to being outstanding in life.

Historical Example.

In the days when David, the young Bethlehemite from a wealthy background fell out with Saul,he and his servants-men who were disgruntled, dissatisfied and discontented as he was, were in the fields of Carmel when Nabal a wealthy shepherd sought the help of David to guide and protect his grazing herds and herdsmen, a request he made because he saw that David had the weaponery and manpower to grant such request, the benevolent David accepted.

It then happened after a time, that David got to know Nabal was throwing a feast for his herdsmen, friends and acquaintances in celebration of the huge profits he had made in his prosperous animal husbandry business, David sent a delegation of men to Nabal, intending to celebrate with him and share the merrymaking and revelries of that festive season with him.
On arrival, the Nabal's servants introduced the presentable delegation into his presence, to their utter amazement, Nabal answered them roughly and embarrassed them - infact He referred to David and his men as thieves and runaway robbers before he sent them away empty-handed.
On getting back, they recounted their embarrassing experiences and it was a huge slap to David, who immediately rose up in fury and got ready for war, swearing he would wipe out all male folks of Nabal's household- He was determined to teach the churlish Nabal a lesson, he took a battalion of men with him and set out to confront Nabal.

At Nabal's.
When David's men left the house of Nabal in utter puzzlement, the servants of Nabal were shocked, they knew and were very much aware of the good David did them when they were tending the herds of Nabal some months back, had Nabal forgotten so soon?
This prompted the Nabal's Chief Servant to take quick action, he knew what David was capable of and he hastily went to Abigail, Nabal's wife and narrated the whole course of events to her.

Abigail acted without delay, arranged numerous goodies consisting of juicy and mouth-watering supplies and set out immediately to meet David while all the time keeping her husband Nabal uninformed for Nabal was too much involved in the feasting and revelry being drunk.

She set out on an ass, rode with her handmaids and met a battalion of men headed by David coming for her husband, she alighted swiftly from her donkey, ran towards David and fell and bowed at his feet, pleading profusely and speaking wisely on behalf of her husband.
David was touched by her prudence, he received all the supplies she brought and sent her away, his anger abated.
Abigail later recounted everything to Nabal after the feast, the thought of a close shave with death gripped him so hard, he fell into a coma and died a couple of days later.

Abigail's virtues and beauty couldn't get off the mind of David who consequently took her to be his wife.

Interpretation.
Abigail was a woman of excellent understanding, she was vital in stopping a likely but unnecessary bloodshed.
The female gender is renown for natural knowledge in matters of the heart - love, romance and sex, women who then have good understanding of matters of the heart and who understand the place of the triumvirate of love, romance and sex are virtuous women.

Abigail appeased the bruised ego of David, an act that is noteworthy - her level-headedness, ability to accurately gauge the effects of what her husband did to David, understand and make due corrections is outstanding, her desirability increased a billion-fold.

Her actions stopped bloodshed, appeased wounded egos, stirred up inactive conscience and eventually led to her being crowned as a queen of the Israeli Kingdom.
Nabal was a man with understanding in business affairs, he prospered in it but was obtuse in human nature, his coldness, foolishness and ridiculousness cost him his life.

Understanding lifted Abigail up and set her high.

Know that :

One struggles in any area because there's no understanding, and the easiest way out when there's no understanding is to criticize which further plunges one into deeper misunderstanding of matters, the best way out is to ask, seek and knock for asking, seeking and knocking are precursors to receiving, finding and opening of doors.

For healthy relationships, understanding is required, understanding YOURSELF - the external world is a mirror of ourselves and when results are incongruous with our wishes, the first place to look is inside not outside - the physical world is just a mirror of the inner world e.g when one is having difficulty with not getting along well with people, there's a tendency to criticize people as standoffish, unfriendly etc, yet the problem lies not with people but with the person who hasn't gotten to understand that things appear to him as he does to it,that person might have grown up in mindsets that are antagonistic to not getting along well with people and might not even be aware UNTIL of course, enlightenment comes, understanding ONESELF is the key to the lock of innumerable personal achievements.

Understanding is a well-spring of life, its benefits are unrepentantly good.

Compliments of the Season.

Religion / On Sex And How It Really Works by teemanbastos(m): 2:13pm On Nov 30, 2019
Sex: How it really works

Sex is a fantastic experience, Infact it is the most pleasurable activity of all physical experiences.
Sex is the absolute fusion of two entities into one.

Implications of sex.
Since sex is the fusion of two energy fields into one, it has a long-lasting effect.
As human beings, we all have our own ambient frequencies, for that is what makes us distinguishable, we are who we are by the emotions we feel, the thoughts we think and basically how we see life. When we now join ourselves with another person, we become one with them, we begin to experience their emotions, their moods and everything about their lives exactly as they experience ours.
If we have a cup of water, clean and clear and suddenly we add a blue ink to the water, an adulterated mixture is formed and chemistry calls that a physical mixture because it can still be separated by physical means but what can separate two souls joined together?.
Making this practical and relatable enough, we probably have heard things like this in spiritual circles that 'having sex with someone can make you rich', 'having sex can result in your destiny being taken away' etc,
Are these really all true?

Historical Story.
King Solomon is the wisest King to have ever lived, a man endowed with wisdom and wealth, he had everything he desired to have on the surface of the earth.
The supremacy of the Universal Laws or the Laws of God is that it is no respecter of persons, whoever breaks them becomes subject to the consequences.
King Solomon's moral decline begun when he took the daughter of Pharaoh, King of Egypt as wife and then subsequently started taking wives and concubines from all kingdoms of the world, he begun to multiply silver, gold and wives to himself breaching the Law that Moses by divine inspiration written down in the 17th chapter of his 5th book Deuteronomy prohibiting a king from multiplying silver, gold and women unto himself.
King Solomon married many women mainly to consolidate his kingdom and secondarily for sexual pleasures, marrying different women has its consequences,he began to grow attached to these women, and his emotions and feelings became attached to these women, he readily accepted their way of life, he had the knowledge, they didn't and since he had joined himself with them, he begun to stumble as a result of his denial of his own way of life and adoption of their way of life, such is the power of unions.
Since ink poured into clear water will result in a contaminated solution so is it when pure knowledge joins ignorance, there is a contamination and both suffers.
King Solomon's heart accepted ignorance by accepting the ignorance of his multiple wives, he broke the laws of the universe and in his later years, he sought to kill one of his faithful right hand man and ultimately his decisions resulted in the disintegration of the kingdom as a result of his actions.

It has often been said that there is nothing good or bad but just consequences, you become one with whoever you have sexual relationship with, so whatever you experience, they do experience, whatever they experience, you also experience distance notwithstanding for we all know that distance is not a barrier to phone calls which is a physical equivalent and correspondence of the unseen world - our mind and thoughts.

Why has it been always said that sex is best only in marriage?

Holistically, the statement portrays good since it has always been a male to a female from the beginning and so it is forever.
For one to decide to get married to anyone, the relationship would have gotten to a depth and level that both sides can absolutely trust themselves, they love each other, have gotten a good knowledge of themselves and have decided to enjoy the remainder of their live experiences together.
When they now get married and have sex and become ONE, they are happy, blessed and fulfilled for then sex becomes truly happy and pleasurable fulfilling the main aim of life - being happy from the inside out.
Saving sex for marriage has the goal of making you happy on the long run.
Everyone is happy when his life is safe with the spouse of his or her dreams.
Contentment then pays, for a man is happy when content with his spouse.

On Covenants.

Historical Story on Unequal Yokes.
After the demise of King Solomon, the kingdom split in two - the Kingdom of Israel which had the lion share with ten tribes and the kingdom of Judah which had two tribes constituting it.
King Ahab begun to rule over the kingdom of Israel years after the death of King David and King Jehoshaphat was also king of Judah almost at the same times.
King Ahab's rule was one which lacked knowledge of the Laws, and the implications was that his reign was one devoid of true joy but abundant in sensual joys, King Jehoshaphat on the other hand had a good understanding of the Universal Laws and prospered in his kingdom.
K Ahab had problems with the neighboring countries at the onset of his kingdom, so immediately K. Jehoshaphat ascended the throne of Judah, he played a smart one by marrying his daughter off to him to bait him into a royal alliance between the two kingdoms, he knew K. Jehoshaphat had a good understanding of warfare and wanted his assistance to help attack the countries he was having problems with.
King Jehoshaphat, the man with a clean heart fell for the trick and matched into battle with K. Ahab who cunningly told him to wear his royal regalia into battle while Ahab himself dressed like a common soldier, K. Jehoshaphat was almost killed save for his cries before a stray arrow hit K. Ahab who later died of his wounds.

Explanations.
The only way K. Ahab could solidify his relationship with K. Jehoshaphat was by giving out his daughter, by having sexual intercourse with her, blood was spilled and the covenanted relationship was sealed.
The alliance was therefore sealed on marriage premises.

The Life of all men lie in the blood, and when the blood of two get to mix, it is as a new life and life ceases to be only when death comes.

The unholy alliance between K. Ahab and K. Jehoshaphat with the instrument of alliance being K. Ahab's daughter almost resulted in the death of K. Jehoshaphat, the evil communications of K. Ahab had indeed corrupted the good manners of K. Jehoshaphat.
The effects of blood covenants are strong as life is being generated and there's a deeper intensity of energies.
If one who is happy and has a balanced life goes ahead to mix with another who isn't on his samelike frequency, he'll begin to function at a frequency unlike his natural one and to break loose would require an encounter with an higher energy level, a strong emotional experience that would detach such energies and in the case of King Ahab and King Jehoshaphat - death.

On Fornication and Adultery.

Life is energy and there are laws, natural laws that all beings are subject to, it is expected one eats through the mouth so as to be nourished, when he now goes against the law and tries to eat through the nose, what happens? He simply suffers the consequence whether he is the greatest, wealthiest or an underdog.
Having multiple partners has its roots in emotional dissatisfaction, an energy level of distrust, unhappiness, discontent and disgruntlement.
One should then seek healing by moving up the energy levels, for when one is spiritually awakened, he is Joyful inside him and requires no external sources as a backbone for joy and happiness.
Abraham the Father of Faith suffered the consequences, he was plagued with the nagging cries of his wife, his great name tag and God's blessings over his life didn't make him impervious to the consequences.
King David also suffered the consequences in his personal household as well as his wise son King Solomon the wise, they all suffered the consequences irrespective of status.
Even a good man can suffer if he doesn't obey the universal laws which are unchangeable and eternal, human beings come and go, the earth remains.

One Man, One Wife.

Moses was a man endowed with rich knowledge of the universal laws, he also put down the bill of divorcement, which encouraged a man to put away a woman caught in adultery, later on in AD 20, Jesus Christ who had a perfect knowledge and who also practically lived up to that perfect knowledge said the bill was written by Moses due to the hardness and stubbornness of the hearts of the men in his days, the bill was borne out of condemnation, bitterness and not out of Love.
And are we truly happy when condemned or bitter? And isn't our goal to be Joyful and happy?

Divorce stems from differences, ideological differences, and it has its roots in partners having premature knowledge of themselves, not all that glitters is gold, every building that will go high must have a deep foundation, including marriage, a marriage that will withstand the winds of little differences must be one that will have a strong foundation, a mutual spiritual one.
A man is tripartite, spirit, soul, body - for a marriage to bring the best of joys and bliss, both must be physically, emotionally and spiritually compatible.
The beauty of all-round compatibility is that you get to fight your battles together and not turn against yourselves when they come and you also get to celebrate your wins together.
One will chase a thousand while two will chase ten thousand.

On Guilt and Condemnation about sex.

Many have had past experiences due to Ignorance, many have had sexual experiences because they wanted to be happy, wanted to be rich, wanted to be Joyful etc and at the end are not, then are taken over by guilty complex, condemnation and pains, but there really is no cause for alarm.
The beauty of the Universal laws of God is that as soon as one becomes knowledgeable and comes out of ignorance, enlightenment dawns and one begins immediately to enjoy true bliss and joy, the past pains are forgotten and act as timely lessons and reminders.
We all learn everyday and enlightenment which is knowledge of the universal laws is necessary to live a sweet life.
Get empowered spiritually with wisdom, knowledge and understanding and Live.

If sex has been the downfall of many, then it has been what has lifted many into joy, remember the act itself is for good but patience, self control and ability to defer pleasure are vital gifts every one should build.

Sex is Blissful!
Sex is Blessed!
Sex Empowers!
Only Have Sex with the person that you are perfectly congruent with, it is for your own personal good.
I want to be Happy and Joyful all the days of my life, don't you?

Nairaland / General / Who We Become Is A Product Of The Books We Read And The People We Meet. by teemanbastos(m): 2:55pm On Nov 03, 2019
The people we meet and the books we read determine who we become.

People Influences.

The Earth is a singular planet out of many in a vast universe, it operates on laws which remains constant as long as the sun rises in the east and sets in the west, everything and anything that works is a pointer to the fact that the laws are being obeyed.
From mobile phones, internet connections that obey the physical laws of electricity and magnetism to the spiritual laws of karma (what you put out is what you get) all obey universal laws.
Then if one desires to have a good life, he should position himself alongside these laws all summarized in two commandments written down later in this rich writing.

Rehoboam, one of the sons of King Solomon ascended to the throne in grandeur and there were much expectations from him.
This was so because at the climax of his father's famed rule, his father begun to place heavy taxes on the people of the Kingdom, remember that when a man has achieved all there is to achieve and has become drunk with the goodness of the earth, there is a tendency for him to become a tyrant, why is this so? It is simple, the day must sooner climax in the night. The nation then looked up to him in expectancy of reversing the declining trend of his father, King Solomon the Wise.

Rehoboam was well-advised by his father to watch out for a lot of things including how to rule a nation well, and this was heeded by him at least till the death of his father.
After the death of his father and with a very powerful kingdom to rule before his eyes, he began to seek help on how to go about ruling the great kingdom.
He invited the elderly men of the kingdom who were all present during the coronation of his father and who had witnessed the reign of his grandfather King David to his palace to hear from them, these men advised him to rule the people with their interests in heart and imitate his grandfather David, Rehoboam promised to ponder over their advices and they all left in peace after being treated to palatial luxuries.

As is typical of new kings who on ascendancy to the throne preferred to consult all and sundry so as to have a good grasp of the realms, he invited his personal friends and close acquaintances who were scattered across Jerusalem and Judah into his magnificent palace-the one built by his father, and sought advices from his friends on how to rule the large kingdom, a kingdom that extended all over present day Asia and parts of Africa, a very great kingdom(King Solomon had consolidated his hold on the kingdoms of the earth by marrying princesses from these kingdoms and the issues that proceeded from these marriages later became rulers of the kingdoms all in King Solomon's name).

This was the advice his friends gave him, his father's methods of placing heavy taxes and burdens on the people had resulted in fear and dread for him and the people appeared to submit in terror, his friends then advised that in order for the totality of the kingdom to fear and preserve his (Rehoboam's) kingdom, he exact even more heftier and more tasking demands on the people, this would make him even more dreaded and then more powerful than King Solomon his father.
King Rehoboam who was elated at the prospect of being feared by all and sundry fell into the trap, the trap of self-promoting egoistical desires against national interests, he adopted his friends advices forgetting his father's powers originated from a deep spiritual source and not from people's worship, he ordered his pressmen to put the advices into writing for immediate implementation.

On the day after, the new tax policies were announced to the leaders of the tribes and clans of the Israeli Kingdom and there was an instant revolt, 83 percent of the leaders rallied against his policies in anger and annoyance, afterall they thought he would be a saviour and not a tyrant, the Israeli leaders announced an imminent unanimous disintegration from the United Nation Of Israel, they had had enough, they weren't going to continue under this self-centered king.

The King threatened to force and deal with these leaders but was handicapped, they had joined forces with another mighty man, Jeroboam who went on to rule Israel which consisted of 10 tribes.

King Rehoboam's policies and plans backfired, he adopted the shallow thoughts of his friends against the deep thoughts of the elders and he had to accept what came with that decision, he ended up being a king over 2 tribes, a big fall!

His short-sightedness led to the disintegration of the United Nation of Israel into Israel and Judah and his seventeen year reign was largely beset by a power tussle between himself and King Jeroboam of Israel.

Lessons.
If you have a goal, or if you have a destination to get to, then watch your company for evil communications corrupt good manners.
Walk with those who share your personal vision and be watchful, don't be carried away by personal ego, be taken off your feet by flatterers or praise-singers and lose sight of your goals.
Learn to take yourself out of your own body and evaluate your life from a third person perspective.
Where you are today is as a result of your past actions, so if your current desires are not matching up with your present conditions, now is the time you evaluate the influences you've been subjecting yourself too.
Remember, the wise always self-evaluates himself.

The Books we read.

Books are very fantastic, they get you informed and widen your overall perspective, Daniel the Wise Man who took the magnanimous ancient kingdom of Babylon by storm had a lot of mysteries and secrets exposed to him by books little wonder he confessed at a time that he understood by books.

It is needful that one devotes himself to studying to attain mastery of his or her life calling, he who studies ends up a wonder among many, for all men are naturally endowed with different areas of intelligences, only by studying can such intelligences be cooked into an edible form and consumed by fellow men.

Spirituality, Philosophy, Mathematics, Environment, Language, Handcrafts, Childraising, Self-development, Sports, Entertainments, Leadership, Entrepreneurship, Transports, Marriage, Relationships, Home Management, Family, Finance, Advocacy and such like are different areas we are all naturally gifted in, only by careful study can we assess what others who have gone before us have learnt and understand the basic principles of life.
Studying opens our eyes to see through the eyes of others.

After acquiring a basic understanding of our callings, our personal distinctiveness now works on what we have studied and gives it out in our unique style.

Ideas rule the world, but for one to receive an idea that indeed rules the world, his mind must have developed to a point where it is receptive to it, studying makes your mind very receptive to world-changing ideas and ideals.
A mind that studies expands, a mind that expands has unlimited access to ideas, wealth and riches follow after ideas as ants after sugar.
To rule your world, study!

Study history for he who does not heed history is doomed to repeat it,
Rehoboam failed to remember the fall of Korah and Abiram who under egoistic glorification got swallowed up alive when they challenged the leadership of Moses, he also failed to listen to men who had witnessed his grandfather's reign, he didn't heed history and he got unbiased results.

Lessons.

To go far in life, devoted study is needful and relevant, don't be caught up in an illusion to have money, fame, honour and material possessions so as to impress fellow men and forget the major things of life, having a solid foundation makes one well-grounded in life such that when the tempests come, one remains unshakable and immovable.
Those who get carried away by the troubles of life are those who have built their foundations on the shaky sands of material possessions, since material possessions are prone to cyclic changes, they are too.
We must study to show ourselves approved and grounded in life.

The higher any building must go, the deeper its foundation has to be.

Watch out :

King Solomon the Wise said "of making many books there is no end".

Studying is awesome but we shouldn't lose focus of the essence of life which is loving God with the entirety of ourselves and loving our fellow men as ourselves for these two great commandments are a summary of all the laws, about 643 of them.

We should study with the main aims of becoming a better and purer versions of ourselves and loving all humans as ourselves.
Studying is then justified when the ends are intended for good and pleasurable purposes.

Having good friends is perhaps the biggest of blessings in life, Studying good minds is an equally profitable investment.

Remain Empowered!
Remain Blessed!

Politics / Is Asiwaju Bola Ahmed The Next President Of Nigeria? by teemanbastos(m): 12:55pm On Oct 27, 2019
Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Jagaban Borgu of Africa to be Nigeria's incoming president?

I just read the respected Dele Momodu's article and I believe the article has well-advertised and allayed fears about the Jagaban's ambitions.

Nigerians grudgingly dropped its support for Goodluck Jonathan in 2019 because of his perceived weakness in governance and looked up to the firm-handedness of Muhammadu Buhari, whose endorsement by Nigerians for a second time is a testament to the further collective need for stability and control in flow of national funds which was being frittered away indiscriminately during the Peoples' Democratic Party (PDP) regimes.

The Muhammadu-led government has focused on financial discipline, economic and security services, a man that has absolute mastery of finance and economy, law and human development is then needed to further consolidate and build on the foundation laid by President Muhammadu Buhari.

Does he have the Credentials?

Lagos city today is one of the most sought-after cities in the world because of its expanding economy and desire to accept new innovations, technologies and developments easily.
The Jagaban is credited with being the foundational mastermind behind these blessings.
The man also has an excellent talent of putting the round pegs in round holes is surely a worthy candidate and has a good grasp of the know-how of how to move a state from scratch to sought-after.

He also has a solid reputation in matters pertaining to National history, for any one who doesn't heed history is doomed to repeat it.
His exuberance of fluidity and mental energy has given him the ability to adapt easily to change, this engenders and continually enflames his personal growth.

Who does Nigeria need than someone who specializes in putting the 'round pegs in round holes?'

About the Youths?

The Youths time will come, it always does.

Nigeria is transiting from instabilities that has come a long way from the bloody coups to the civil wars to disunities and currently to stability, therefore, only a nigerian that has a good understanding of the political terrain by virtue of personal and erudite experiences would be in a better position to locate far-reaching problems that would have otherwise been hidden to a youthful inexperienced mind.

Sowore is a passionate man who would still come back to do fantastic things for his country, he should widen his range of acceptability beyond his youthful fanbase to the elder generations.
He speaks the mind of a good portion of Nigerians, his mode of expressions and body language tally with his intellectual abilities.

That said and done, Nigerians should adapt easily to changes for easy adaptility to situations is the basic pre-requisite for unprecedented development.

Nairaland / General / How Are Billionaires Made? by teemanbastos(m): 11:42pm On Sep 18, 2019
How are Billionaires Made?

Diligence, hard work, smart work, right thinking, learning etc!

Everyone actually does all the above but what really makes billionaires or even the trillionaire King Solomon?

No thoughts is new in itself, what you are currently thinking, someone or plenty people elsewhere are thinking exactly the same thoughts, what makes it new is the fact that a distinct personality is expressing it.

Since it's thoughts and ideas rule the world, some people naturally have a foresighted vision, because they are aware of their thoughts and its consequences, they then see the potentials of certain items - John Davidson Rockefeller saw oil and knew it was a potential tool the whole world would use for fueling the cars they got, the cars built by Henry Ford.

These men saw into the future, they knew that the whole world desired a life of ease, trekking wasn't so easy - trekking from Lagos to Abuja was a norm in those days but the insight of cars on wheels made things easier.

Solomon knew that cutting a tree with a blunt cutlass would take the whole year but speaking words of wisdom to the lumberman to spend time sharpening his cutlass saved the lumberman his time and he was able to cut trees at a faster rate - now we even have cutting saws.! The power of insight.

Billionaires simply use their present conditions to predict and visualize what the world would need tomorrow and devote their time to providing it - from services like teaching truths which the Clerics do to telecommunications to entertainment to tangibles like oil and gas, food and beverages and so on.

Strive Masiyiwa the African billionaire, the founder of Econet begun to see visions of masts in his sleep earlier on in his life and today he is a telecommunications guru.
Steve Jobs and Bill gates had seen what is happening today in the technology world in the 20th century as all billionaires have done.

It's all about Vision which is not about living in the past but living in the present with a zeal and zest to experience the future.

So are you still dwelling in the past? Or are you the future minded person living in the present? There lies the billionaire secret code.

Billionaires, Millionaires, Greats, Powerful Nations saw the vision first and sooner their body followed their vision.

The conclusion I then come to is this- It is indeed one's creator that gives one the vision to be anything, for what we see, we were privileged to and so we become,

Oil has always been ever present but He opened the Eyes of Rockefeller to see the wealth in it.
As I type this, I deeply know that every one's happiness, Wealth, fulfillment is within him but has he seen it?

Religion / Whosoever Digs A Pit Shall Fall Therein by teemanbastos(m): 11:48am On Aug 25, 2019
Whosoever digs a pit shall fall therein.

Literally, the Hausa workmen are famous for digging wells, so we can all relate to this really well.

On the start of digging, the digger and the ground are on level ground, but as the intensity of digging continues, the men sooner find themselves in the dugged pit and remain at the level of the pit to sustain the intensity of the work.

In essence, the digger of the pit(well) sooner finds himself in the pit itself.

So is life, whatever you dig and commit yourself to digging, you're sooner in the dugged pit yourself, hence commit yourself to digging wellness, health, goodwill, strong healthy relationships, Love and beauty and sooner you'll find yourself in the wells of all these blessings drinking from the waters of fulfillment you dug out yourself.

Timothy says Happy Sunday to you all.

Religion / As A Refined Man Thinketh. by teemanbastos(m): 11:12am On Jul 27, 2019
A Refined Mentality is Priceless.

Premium Motor Spirit (Petrol) is a leading product in the world's market and highly demanded alongside similar products like Dual Purpose Kerosene(Kerosene), Automotive Gas Oil(Diesel), they are highly renowned and are highly valuable but how many know that the crude oil from which it is gotten is not as good looking and not as useful?

Crude oil is formed from dead and decayed matter accumulated over time in the Earth crust, it is very crude in form and in use as the name suggests.
The Geologists scan the Earth for the oil with their ever developing sophisticated instruments and equipment and once the oil location is confirmed, the Petroleum Engineers come in to drill out the crudely looking oil and send it to the tank farms for storage and future processing, the Chemical Engineers make sure that the overall processes are safe, ensure the quality of the raw crude and subsequent products meets required standards and finally make sure production rates are maintained.

The Refinery is the facility where the crude oil is processed and the respective components are separated out from the crude oil by fractional distillation which means that the oil is separated by being heated at very high temperatures and the components are separated based on their individual boiling points, when the boiling point of Kerosene is reached, it is collected and distilled [(analogously, when you want distilled water for instance, boil the raw water to 100 °C then collect the vapor and allow it to cool(condense)] - from Bitumen to Kerosene to Diesel to Petrol.
A Refinery is a wonderful place as you see the life transformation of crude oil to refined oil, the soon to be inaugurated Lagos Dangote Refinery will provide everyone an interesting live experience on visiting.

To be refined is to be free of unwanted substances, improved to be more exact and having and showing good manners (Merriam Webster, 2019).
Crude Oil though a potential beauty has rudimentary qualities so is our personal lives when we act crude and live, talk and act any how.
Refined oil is sought all over the world world so are people who have refined manners, who primarily think right, talk right and act right and treat their fellow humans right, they are highly regarded and well sought all over the world.

To be refined is to be refined and renewed in daily thoughts pattern, thoughts and speech of hate, anger, animosity, jealousy, victimization are very crude and indeed primitive and need to be transformed by the Ultimate Refinery: God.
To be refined, one must ask his creator (in faith and belief that he will receive an answer) which resides inside everyone, for the kingdom of God is within everyone and this kingdom can only be connected with by believing, indeed only a power greater than one can transform hateful thoughts to loving thoughts. Believe it and Receive it.
A refined heart is one filled with daily thoughts of Victory, Beauty, Love, Meekness, Optimism, Joy and having all these thoughts affects the quality of our life and the life of the world at large.

A refined spirit is desired everywhere , can be attained and is highly fulfilling.

Religion / Fill The Water Pots With Water. by teemanbastos(m): 12:55pm On Jul 07, 2019
Fill the water pots with water.

Around the year A.D 27, there was a marriage party in Galilee and the family of Joseph with his wife Mary and children were invited, at this time Mary's Firstborn Son, Jesus was very much in the family carpentry business and although had a specific mission to accomplish in his lifetime for the benefit of mankind was committed to strengthening the hold of the prestigious carpentry professional of his family.

His mother who had received the special message from her creator that she was going to birth a savior was still in awe of what kind of savior he was going to be, was he going to liberate the Jewish nation from the then prominent Roman Empire? She wasn't so sure but what she knew in her heart was that this special son of hers was going have enough power whatever the kind to be a 'savior'.

On arrival at this wonderful ceremony where joys of marriage filled the atmosphere and where there was food and wine and drink and celebrations aplenty, the family of Jesus joined in the celebrations with Jesus going to merry with his friends.

Then suddenly, the caterers and men in charge of the hospitality section discovered the wine was finished, a big surprise because the wine was expected to last the whole period of the ceremony and the number of guests, it appeared that the bride and bridegroom were very Honourable and well respected in Galilee that almost the whole town came to Honour their marriage ceremony with their presence, well the bridegroom had to be informed and tedious arrangements had to be made to refill the giant thirty-galloned six pots, but Mary one of the caterers who knew about her son's 'saving' power went to meet him where he was dining and chatting heartily with his friends and whispered to his ears about the situation on ground, Jesus obviously amazed replied and told her he hadn't begun his special mission yet, his mother prudently nudged him on and he arose and followed her to the kitchen.

On getting to the kitchen and seeing the disappointment clearly written on the faces of the servers, he was moved with compassion, then he ordered the servers to fill the giant six waterpots with water which they, in wonderment obeyed under the instruction of Mary. After they had filled the water pots with water, he then ordered them to serve the guests from the pots filled with water, the servers were in shock and in their minds wondered how the guests would take being served with water, anyways they obeyed as strictly instructed by Mary.
Alas, the water was made wine simply because they believed, no questions asked, no additives added, no fermentation needed, only BELIEVE, only FAITH.

The guests were flabbergasted on tasting the perfectly produced wine that they went on to meet the bridegroom on why he kept the best wine to the last part of the ceremony against the norm of serving the best wine first, the bridegroom himself being dumbfounded wondered how his caterers went on to pull such a miracle and that marriage ceremony went on so well that it became the talk of the town even till today.

This beautiful story goes on to show us that whatever we want in our lives is simply within our reach and is inside us, the best of us that we daily fantasize on and wish for is really inside us and is ready to become reality and the only barrier is our DOUBT!
Everyone reading this can turn water to wine and likewise walk on water and triumph on the challenges of life but you have to BELIEVE. A heart and mind of FAITH and BELIEVE cannot cohabit with HATE, ANIMOSITY and DOUBT, drop the negativity and pick on the Positives - Faith and Believing.

Because things looks dark now is just a pointer that light is ready to be switched on but we must first believe so and never give up!
Are you a student who keeps on studying and you are getting discouraged? Just keep on filling the water pots with water!
Are you into business and you seem to have done everything from improving your service to observing business rules and that your goal still seems out of reach? Just keep on filling the water pots with water!
Are you still concerned about your life seemingly confused on where it's heading to? Don't give up, your life has a meaning, Just keep on filling the water pots with water!

Since you have taken the first step of believing by filling your pots with water, when the pots are full and it's harvest time, your creator will step in - might be in a dream, a vision or even a revelational thought and tell you clearly, now draw out of that pot and distribute it to the guests of humanity, you then obey in absolute faith and then joyful humanity having tasted your water-now-turned-wine then asks 'where have you been all this while? We've been waiting for this'.

Happy Sunday.

Politics / Solution To Nigeria's Woes by teemanbastos(m): 3:38am On Jul 04, 2019
There are no problems in life, what we have lacking is understanding of what we call problems and once the understanding comes, the said problem collapses, understanding is one out of the three vital keys to life, Wisdom and Knowledge being the other two.

Every mathematical problem is solved the moment the understanding of it comes to forth.
Nigeria has no problem except the one its citizens has brought upon themselves, Nothing is new under the sun, nothing is. From history, nations have undergone the same issues Nigeria undergoes today with a big pointer to the Nation Israel which wandered in the Wilderness for hundred of years aimlessly.

Then where is the Gordian Knotted 'problem' from?
In the same Nigeria, some are enjoying prosperity, the educational system of a particular denomination is flourishing, Nigerian businesses are flourishing like the palm tree, some states even thrive exceedingly well while some suffer which shows the country has no problem.

The Problem lies with the negative thinking patterns of Nigerians, where evil thinking, envy, jealousy, self-centeredness, there can't be progress, where selfishness thrives there can't be bliss, where there is lies and dishonesty, there can't be sincerity and integrity.

Every Nigerian is always ambitious to contest for elections to change things when he has not transformed himself, smoke from fire cannot be covered so is bad thinking and dubious character which both taints and degrades a person's character,
Let He who claims he means best for his country transform himself, let him drop his 'little' lies that add up to national dishonesty, let him drop his cunning lifestyle and begin to treat his fellow humans well, let him begin to treat his family well, let him begin to think right.

Let everyone who is indeed patriotic and who seeks to transform his country not forget his first estate - his life, If every Nigerian takes full responsibility for his life, then collectively the Nation is made whole and the Knotted problem is loosed and the country enters its promised Land.
