i think the juju factor in soccer is mainly a psychological boost for teams but it can only carry u to an extent. |
nightrider, i just don't see how a true football fan can support both barca and real madrid at the same time!! i just don't know how |
yeah i remember mike onyemachara too. the guy had an awesome long throw and was quite flamboyant with it too. |
We madridistas wiil always be grateful to Perez for having the good sense to grab a first option on fabregas. that boy is so neat and intelligent in his play, |
Original bad Boy Club i'll start with our own Etim Esin Eric Cantona the king of them all EDMUNDO.who else could slap a ref / |
Question: What do the NASA testing centre and Old Trafford have in coommon? Answer: They lack atmosphere!!! |
hala madrid!!! the feeling is in the air. we shall prevail right there at estadio nou camp. hala madrid!!!! |
i think the final word on this is that mikel is simlpy better overall than okocha was at 19. |
Question: Why Do Sunderland fans always carry lighters around? Answer: Because they always lose their matches! |
Keep 'em coming bro |
that was simply a bad gamle by mourinho. period |
dat was a nice objective contribution , keep it up. |
this one will be hot. it will be interesting to see how far the gunners will go!!! send ur posts. |
Slimgene, u r welcome to the nairaland forum. i really liked ur analysis of the situation. You seemed to really understand the situation i was tring to highlight. some people thought i was comparing mikel with jay jay as the are now. thanx for you analysis |
It is my intention that this thread will be very light-hearted. Let's pour all those football jokes here, they are so many. A lot of funny stuff happens everyday in football. From the Commentators to the Referees to the Coaches and of course the players. I'm sure u guys remember the Thunder Balogun Story;the one where he supposedly killed his brother with the shot from his left foot, very funny. Let me set the ball rolling by sharing a joke with u guys: Arsene Wenger was in his room one night pondering how Arsenal was going to climb into a Champions League position in the Premiership. All of a sudden, God appeared to him. He was scared and tried to run away. God said "Come forth my son". Wenger replied "Come forth, we'll be lucky if we come bloody 6th". |
This might interest football fans especially Gunner fans. During the 1st leg of the Champs League match at the Bernabeu, Florentino Perez in probably the last significant thing he did before resigning negotiated for Real Madrid to have the first option rights on Cesc Fabregas and Ashley Cole. For the uninitiated, a first option clause means that whenever Arsenal want to sell any of these players, Real Madrid will be the first club that they will turn to. In other words, it will be left to Real to decide whether they want to buy or not. It is similar to the deal that was made with Sao Paulo on Cicinho. A fee, usually about 10% of the final transfer fee is paid upfront. The interesting about it is that the future fee is agreed upon by both parties nad from wetin idey hear, the transfer fee for fabregas has been agreed for 15million pounds. The young man will surely go places. |
Skintite, Who said there's no colour or chants in the la liga. it's either u don't understand Spanish or the audio from your TV is bad. By the way saying La Liga is boring is very funny.I magine calling a league where u have the most skillful players in the world boring.funny indeed. you simply contradicted ur self by admitting that they play good football |
U are welcome to the forum. Don't let nobody's unusual attitude bother u. just have fun and express ur self to the fullest. |
i am trying to remember the name of Baruwa's deputy at 3SC then. someone hola it please. |
yeh i feel u.that video ain't real. that gal's a fugazi |
nicetohave, please can u tell me which big club made a seriuos bid for jay jay? mention the name of the club and the period they made the bid. please i am waiting. |
i can imagine how hard it is for chelsea fans to admit that their manager made a mistake. The fact that Mourinho is a good tactician is obvious but on that night, that decision of his was quite bizarre to say the least. Akola, you referred to Senegal '92 when Keshi scred the winning goal against Senegal but u make it sound as if he was started as a striker in that game. Whenever you refer to history to back up your claims please make sure it is relevant. I am still waiting for an objective argument on this point. |
So tell me Akola, you honestly think that playing a centre-jalf as a centre-foward was the best tactic to employ in that kind of high calibre match?? na wa 4 your self-proclaimed analytical skills o!! and what makes u think that the fact that a man u fan supported your opinion gives it any form of credibility Be man enough to admit that u did not expect that sub.that is all i want to hear. |
BARCA vs CHELSEA. I expected better from the man. I think even the Chesea faithfuls were shocked to see such a substitution. Dont worry, they will soon come out of their shells and speak. I am waiting for a sensible explanation for that decision. what inspired it? was there no other option? |
i think Gbenga Okunowo got swept away by the dutch revolution that reigned at barca that period.held that right back position at barca 4 quita a while then. that 3SC squad the was full of talents sha. they used to play really entertaining football that overwhelmed their opponents. Of course, i remember David Ogaga.and there was also baba himself,Ajibade Babalade. I remember that thunderous freekick he scored against Zamalek in the 1st leg ofv that Champions Cup finals they lost. Do u remember Ochuko Otos?He was at Concord FC then.really skillful midfielder.he played in that U23 team that were held by Kenya to a draw at the National Stadium before the pros came nad redeemed us at the "Battle of Mombassa". |
In all my years of watching football I have never seen a losing team bring in a centre-half to play as a centre-foward and remove the team's creative force(joe cole). I respect Mourinho as a coach but i think he goofed on this one. |
thanx 4 bringing up Gabriel Okolosi.the guy really made waves in the Ivorien league back then. remember Keneddy Boboye? yaro Yaro was one skilfull fellow,he was really quick on the ball then. that reminds me,Edema Fuludu is currently in Benin City.he is an understudy coach.he was one of the few homebased players who used to feature in the Eagles squad back then around 92-94 alongside Finidi George(before he went pro),Abdul Sule and Taofeek Malik. |
Farriel,ol' boy 4 u 2 say mikel is over-rated. Are u sure u watch football at all and do u know wat to look out 4 in a good player?? When u answer then we can begin a good debate. nicetohave, the Nigeria vs Ghana u-21 match u are talking about was played in january 1993 and jay jay was not fantastic in it. As for the Nigeria vs Algeria match, after scoring the equaliser through a freekick, the guy stared playing to the gallery. The point i am trying to make is that back then, jay jay sured a loy of imaturity on the pitch.I agree he could dribble from now till eternity then but not all coaches wanted such a player in their team. Maybe that explains why no big club ever made a serious offer for him. I stick to my guns:mikel is showing more maturity on the ball now than jay jay did then. |
I don't really see anything wrong with kenny and D 1 going to shows with 2face. 2face happens to be a member of the kennis family and kenny handles primetime jamz which publicizes the musical acts under the label. As 4 people beefing them,i dont really know about that.i think such talk always comes wit success so it all depend on how one can manage it. tell me wat u think. |
nice of you to bring all those names back.It makes me nostalgic.I think Eddy Dombraye is still playing somewhere in the lower leagues of Europe.I remember the period before Ecuador 95 when Edward Anyamkyegh was being tipped as the next Amokachi. I am waiting for the other names you have to submit. I knew this was going to get interesting. |
those videos were really wack.they were poor in both audio and technical quality. the would just put the poor musicians in front of a cam and shhot.but those guys have grown in leaps and bounds sha.kudos to them |
