We are not comparing them as they stand now. of course jay jay has a larger than life figure in Nigerian football but i am only saying that if u look back to when he was mikel's age, he was not so technically gifted. he was an unrefined talent. I remeber that USA 94 qualifier against ivory coast in lagos where jay jay was so hell bent on playing to the gallery even when our lead in that match was not secure that a furious Westerhof was left screaming on the sidelines and had to pull him out for amuneke who went on to score.

i decided on the word "forgotten" to highlight their condition now. Of course,i didn't mean for the word to be intepreted 100% literarily. the word was a kind of euphemism for exactly what u meant. how many football fans get to read about these guys everyday these days eh?

and of course there is a rarely mentioned goal.it was scored by finidi george against congo in the USA 94 qualifiers. A brilliant solo effort.One of the best goals to have been scored by a nigerian while in an Eagles shirt. the game itself ended 2-0 in the favour of the Eagles. i happen to have it on good authority that about the only Eagles players that use their real ages are Osaze and Efe Sodje. Sodje was born in the UK but attended Government College,Ughelli. A cousin of mine happened to be his friend and classmate so his age can be confirmed.Better still, the guy holds a British passport which makes it hard to falsify age. As for Osaze,he was born in Uzbekistan.he uses his actual age till today. If anyone outthere knows the real ages of any Eagles player,why not add it to this thread.i think it will make for some funny reading.

Mikel Better Than The Then 19 Year Old Okocha?

My friend and i had this argument sometime back. The issue was whether mikel obi right now is better than jay jay was around 1993-1994. I was of the opinion that mikel is a better passer of the ball now and besides he has more vision. jay jay might have been more flambouyant but he certainly lacked sense pof direction on the pitch when he was mikel's age. tell me whatu think?/

It's the only club i've ever supported. No doubt we have seen days of glory but things are not exactly going right these days. I have no doubt that all will be resolved but i would like to seek different opinions on what you guys think is really wrong. Now, don't start giving me the most common reason which is that there are too many stars in the team and that they are all old, that's old news. i want to hear something new.
