European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga)Re: Ronaldo: Fat And Fabulous! by teeroy(op): 1:20pm On Jul 01, 2006
hey guys, the use of the word "fat" was supposed to drive home the fact about how much critcism this guy has come under.I was trying to tackle this from a 3rd person point of view applying some literary sense.Anyhow let's stick to football and not language
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga)Ronaldo: Fat And Fabulous! by teeroy(op): 2:53pm On Jun 29, 2006
Oh yeah,i've heard it all!!!! he's overweight,he should be working at McDonalds and all that crap.Well, the dude'd problem has never really been the weight issue.I've seen a fatter Ronaldo score a hat-trick against the Argiesat the WC quals. His season at Madrid was regarded as poor simply cos of the high standards he set for himself previuosly.
At this WC,the "phenomenon" has 3goals while some of the supposedly fitter players are still struggling to find their feet. The truth right now is that Ronado simply has nothinbg else to prove to anyone. His legendary status is assured forever. Some of the so called "igwes" of today will be forgotten in a decade but not Ronaldo. And don't forget he's still chasing Pele's record as Brazil's all-time leading scorer for thr national team. To all the doubters,it's a pity cos fatso's gonna do it!!!!!!!!!!!!
SportsThe World Cup Is For More Experienced Players by teeroy(op): 2:31pm On Jun 29, 2006
The World Cup Is For Men And Not Boys!

The ongoing World Cup has confirmed that there are no "Ajax" or "Arsenal" at that level. It's hard to bring a bunch of 20yr olds to the mundial and exp[ect them to perform wonders.I think Van basten has learnt that lesson the hard way.Already, the stars of the World Cup so far are the older and much criticized ones such as Ronaldo,Zizou et al. These are the players the WC was madfe for.The WC is their stage to do what they know how to do best.

Forget their league form while playing for their clubs. The likes of Ronado,Zidane and Vieira have all shown that the WC is their sitting room and they can afford to rest their feety on the couch or get really serious if it demands.
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga)Re: Zinedine Zidane:tribute To A Legend. by teeroy(op): 2:06pm On Jun 29, 2006
The Great man has proved himself once again by delivering when it mattered the most.Zizou is simply amazing. he belongs to that elite group of players that save their best for the world cup itself. I keep on saying it, after Pele and Maradona, Zidane is next on the list of the greatest footballers ever. all hail the prof.
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga)Why Is Thierry Henry Mediocre In Major Tournaments? by teeroy(op): 5:42pm On Jun 14, 2006
I have been wanting to ask this question for a long time but after viewing France being held by the Swiss, i decided to let it out. Henry had so many easy chances but failed to convert any. The story has been the same for years now. We all know that the trademark of the legendary strikers is the ability to perform and score in those high-pressure matches especially when they are wearing the colours of their country.

Whenever Henry features for France in a major tournament,i really do not expect much from him especially with him giving back passes to the Swiss keeper!!

Could this be a gross case of stagefright or could it be that the guy has limitations which he can't exceed? Waiting to hear from all of ya!!
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga)Re: Zinedine Zidane:tribute To A Legend. by teeroy(op): 5:25pm On Jun 14, 2006
Again Zizou was one of the few French players that made sense during their draw against Switzerland. The supposed "star" of the team, thyierry henry caught the stage fright syndrome when it mattered the most. VIVA ZIZOU!!!!
SportsWhat Is Brazil's Best Pairing In Attack? by teeroy(op): 5:17pm On Jun 14, 2006
We all saw during the Brazil-Croatia match that the Ronaldo and Adriano combination does not quite work. Apart from the fact that they have similar styles, i really think playing Adriano as a support striker did not really suit them. A more mobile support striker like Robinho or Fred will do wonders behind Ronaldo.
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga)Zinedine Zidane:tribute To A Legend. by teeroy(op): 1:49pm On Jun 04, 2006
Indeed the entire football world is going to miss the mercurial skills of this great man. About two seasons ago when he started to ponder retirement,i strained to see all i could of this great man before he finally hung his boots. It's true that we have many skillful players in the game today including the reigning footballer of the year but the difference which Zizou brought to the game was immense.
He made us realise that football could be played like he was in a ballet. Often imitated, he was never replicated. His grace on the ball was mystifying. His attitude off the pitch was gracious. An achiever of the highest order.
I am proud to have been born to witness the start and the end of such a glittering career.
ALL HAIL KING ZIZOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

SportsRe: Super Eagles Best Jersey! by teeroy(m): 2:38pm On May 19, 2006
No doubt the most our jersey at Tunisia 94 and USA 94 is the best and original we have ever won plus it brought us luck. Most of what has come after have either been over-size or completely off-colour or worse still mass-produced jersies meant for any team that fancies green.
SportsRe: Most Outstanding Super Eagles Game by teeroy(m): 2:24pm On May 19, 2006

So the continuation of the gist is that the Anderlect management called Stephen Keshi wgho was then a senior player at the club.he was asked to talk to Osondu so that the reason for his 'non-growth' could be unveiled. When Keshi tried talking to Osondu, the "young man's" reply was, "e be like say u dey 4get the fact say i be ur senior back home for nigeria".

For print, i'll go with Mumuni Alao.
For electronic, i'll go with Fisayo Ogunfuyi of NTA Benin.most people in the lagos area might not know this guy but he's far better than most of those so called gurus.
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga)Re: Off To Spain! Barcelona Vs Real Madrid On Saturday! by teeroy(m): 1:55pm On Apr 07, 2006
The referee should be ashamed of himself. Meanwhile it was a good performance from los merengues considering the fact that we were a man down for the larger part of the game. HALA MADRID!!!!!!!!!!!

who heard the gist about how the then "16 year old" phillp osondu was bought by Anderlecht and was being fed to become taller and instead was getting fatter( of course he was put on a teenager's diet). i'll give the complete gist later
SportsRe: John Mikel Obi Better Than Okocha At 19? by teeroy(op): 1:50pm On Mar 30, 2006
When i started this thread, i didn't know i'd get this much support. i thought okocha's big status would over-shadow logical thinking but i'm happy it has not. the question that the jay-jay boys can't answer is why did the big clubs not come after himhuh?
