really, are you sure about that.....
question
2 b)Have you ever been refused a visa or permit, denied entry or ordered to leave Canada or any country
the answer is yes because you were refused a study permit recently then list refusal reasons in the box below

2 c)have you previously applied to enter or remain in canada
the answer is no because you have never been turned back at the port of entry(airport) nor applied to remain in canada from inside canada

3. Click on start a new study permit application
4.insert your new personal checklist code to import your questionnaire into your account and then click on continue application

pls how does one go about requesting a case file? cos was denied the second time for reasons been that i havent convinced dem i wil b coming back and personal assets. i had a sponsor who is my broda and has his company soa of 20m n his private soa of 6m. i myself provided soa of 2m, 6 months payslips from my company. letter from my company stating they are expecting me back in the company with a reviewed salary scale.

dont tink i wanna reapply but seems i just may have to request for a case file
Sorry about the delay, could you double check the letter to ensure PURPOSE OF VISIT was not ticked as one of the reasons and how much did your brother expressly state in his sponsorship documents will be available to you for your studies, because your financials is more than okay and some peeps here got their TRV approved with far less than what you have. Hope you did not state in anyway that you were sponsoring any part of your studies.

I am happy that people that has succeded in the study permit app are sharing their experience, please brothers I submitted my application in march 12 but I received a refusal letter stating that Idont have enough finance to pursue my course of study in Canada without working, this because I have only 10,000 cnd fixed deposit because my elder brother who is working with an Oil and Gas firm in the Uk and my brother inlaw who works with telecommunication firm in Nigeria, but my annual expenses is 18500cnd per living cost and academic cost, However I've re-applied because the letter stated that I can only reapply if my circumstances has changed substancially, and I have a total of 3,560,000 which is equivalent to 21,500 cnd for my 10months programme. Please what are my chances of getting the study permit approved this time?

Thank you.
No one here can tell you if your application will be approved or not that decision is made solely by the VO reviewing your application, what we can do however is provide useful tips and guide so that your application is successful. If I understand you correctly you've already re-applied with $21500 bank balance for a program of $18500 per year. In all honesty bruv the money is still not sufficient unless you've paid all your school fees and $21500 is just for your living expenses. Well I'll only advise you pray fervently because anything is possible with the almighty.

Thnks for the time to type that message for me @teessboy

Definitely I'm not hammering too much on it in my sop, talking aboyut my dadss letters.

I think I got your message though.

God bless!
The Gold standard for having your documents recognised internationally can be a Notary Public or to have the Legalisation Department of the Embassy or High Commission (if it provides legalisation of documents services) of the Country you wish to send those documents to authenticate and attest to its veracity before sending it or in some cases you will be expressly instructed/required to do it at the Federal Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Abuja and I reiterate that A sworn Affidavit of Support at a Federal High Court in Nigeria is just as good as one from a Notary Public as you are using it to apply to CIC, Lagos and do not let any one tell you otherwise, I am yet to see anyone refused by CIC for their Affidavit of Support being sworn at a Federal High Court, Heck some peeps like @pchax and a few others got their TRV with just a Declaration of Support with no Sworn affidavit or Notary Public. A VO is more interested in knowing if your study application shows academic progression from one level to another, you have adequate funds to cover your studies and home ties and not where your affidavit was sworn. I do not recall you stating Affidavit sworn in Lagos as one of the reasons for your refusal. Instead of looking for a Notary Public spend that time and more typing, editing, updating, proof reading for errors and finally arriving at an SOP that addresses issues from your prior application but if a Notary Public is your preference then go right ahead to do it.

I have done exactly that...instead I stated that I am the heir apparent of the company just after stating he is the sole owner...
I think I am good to go...

Aabout the notarisation? I already have an affidavit of support...What wud a. Notary public do to that...is he bigger than the court..
I really want to get the concept of a notary public.

Thanks onyeoma3
I suggested a good way to tackle your issues in a previous post it is a logical and tailored treatment for your case, guess you are yet to read and you are not obligated to adhere to it though. You can scream, shout and wail that you are the heir to the company it only exudes a feeling of entitlement when you say it and not your father more so when you are not even a director with the company yet to show you are in the grand scheme of things when it is time to change guard, rather any such claim should be coming from your father, your SOP should be more on why the particular program, the advanced knowledge it would bring and how when you complete it and return to Nigeria you would apply the knowledge to improve and increase the company's management and revenue respectively.

Notary public and High court both serve same purpose it's a matter of preference and perception by a few that since Notary public is more expensive then it is better.

Please my friend is applying to centennial... When is she supposed to pay the school fees? Is it after she gets the visa?
Centennial College usually requires a minimum tuition deposit of $2500 before sending the Letter of Acceptance to you but you can pay your tuition in full if you want to before applying for your Study permit or when you get to Canada.

Thank you so much for your response it has been so helpful, pls I will like to know why people opt out from colleges,is it difficult to get a visa from nigeria with 2 years duration? And another question is,if am apply from nigeria do I need to drop my passport given to registering online? Might want to use my passport to travel back for the main time!! Thank you all...awaiting my bosses responses here.
1. A lot of people do apply to colleges as educational background as well as grades obtained whilst in school vary from one individual to another, as not every applicant will get an MBA, MSc Admission which can be quite tricky sometimes for some peeps even with good 2:1 so you can imagine what it will be like for sum1 with a 2:2 grade or A Third, having said that some are admitted with some relevant experience in addition to their grades. Doing a 2-year college program after a 4-year BSc program in Naija means that program needs to be at postgraduate level to show academic progression and the program should be closely if not directly related to you undergraduate program so that PURPOSE OF VISIT is not ticked as refusal reason after the VO reads only your admission letter. Hence why some peeps write an SOP to clarify things to the VO and even peeps studying at higher levels like Phd,MBA, MSc,Postgraduate One year or Two year programs write an SOP too, as well as those changing their programs from what they studied at undergraduate level

2. As long as you have sufficient funds from your sponsors to cover your 2-year program and you satisfy one above then approval is likely but not still guaranteed.

3. If you are applying online you only need to scan and attach your international passport data page and any visas you have (recent and expired) and your passport remains with you till CIC request for it after medicals.

4. if you intend to submit via the paper route then you will need to submit your international passport along with your documents.

Hello everyone,
Please i submitted my application on May 23, did my biometric on May 25. Can i still go for an upfront medicals or chill till i get a mail from CIC.
Your response is appreciated.
Many Thanks
Sorry you cannot. Upfront medicals must be done before applying online, the hospital gives you the e-medical document as proof you have done the medical upfront, which you must then upload in the appropriate section on your MyCIC account along with the rest of your scanned documents before submitting the Study Permit application online.

guys, in a company that i am coming back to lead, is it advisable to write an employment letter as an unpaid graduate intern at present? or trainee....which would fit in...
Attaching a CV is optional and not mandatory. If you are listed as a director for the company on CAC documents then you can use the Form C07 as proof of employment, if you are not then a letter of employment is in order and your Dad should be the one stating your being trained to manage the company affairs in his letter of sponsorship as you do not yet have the requisite knowledge and experience to manage the company effectively as a full-time director presently before taking over the reins of the company when he decides to take a step back/limited role from the company's daily affairs

Hello,

Please I have a question.
My Uncle want to go for masters in Canada in Accounting, But he is 45years old and I wish to know if someone of his age can go for masters in Canada?

thanks,
there is no CIC law that says a 45 year-old cannot study in Canada. So long as your uncle has his admissions letter and submits suporting documentation/evidence required for a study permit to be processed, his application will be treated based on it's merit and not his age.

@teesboy,
I only sent my transcript to sait and no other schools..

Is there any effect to this?
SAIT admission is not for the faint hearted ooo. The shakara no be small ooo becos the demand pass supply some peeps even apply more than a year for some programs just to increase their chances of getting admitted and it has been well documented on this forum. Start applying to other schools now so you don't wait endlessly for SAIT and if you do not meet up with Sep 2015 then start planning for Jan 2016 and this time apply to a minimum of 3 schools with non-competitive admissions to avoid this waitlist saga. All the best.

Krix25:
@teesboy,
Do I need to apply for another transcript in my school b4 switching over to another school?
Do I need to apply to another school?
Switching to another school in Canada will not require a transcript if you have previously applied to that school and duly satisfied it's admissions requirements and you hold a valid admissions letter from the school. Make no mistake oo you cannot switch to a new school in Canada without having an admissions letter from the school oo. If SAIT is the only school you applied to then you will have to wait patiently or starting application to a New school now and if it is the SAIT I know for a competitive program you will just be wasting valuable time on their waitlist as @kfrosh rightly said. The decision is your's entirely to make.

Thanks for the detailed explanation...
As an addendum to what u asked earlier. The currency of the little cash you want to bring for the first few days can be US Dollars, Euros or even Pounds, which can be gotten easily in Naija and exchanged inside the Airport in Canada, most peeps bring USD. As may know already CAD dollars is a traded currency in Naija for Wire transfer transactions so you can't readily get it in cash at a Bank in Naija, you may get lucky with the Bureau De Change but i doubt it.

Hi
Please does anyone has idea about SAIT canada?

I've been placed on waitlist and I wanna know the necessary document the embassy will request from me for my visa application.
You will need an admissions Letter before you proceed to start gathering your documents and a Nlander has posted links to all you need for the study permit process skim through the thread and you will find it and tank him too as well for links it helps a lot.
SAIT is very competitive when it comes to admissions and the fact that you have been placed on a waitlist buttresses my point. If placed on a waitlist you have to understand that it is only when a slot becomes open then you will be granted admission and this also depends on your position on the list of waitlisted applicants so you may or may not get admitted to the program. This is my suggestion and you are not obligated to heed to it. I will assume SAIT is not the only school you applied to if you have admission from another school proceed with that admission and when you get to Canada if SAIT is still your preferred choice and offered admission from the waitlist then you switch to SAIT it is easy and permitted by CIC.

Hello all,

Please which bank's master card can I conveniently used in Canada? Which way do u think is better to carry my cash at the point of entry? Cash or in my account and show them my Master card? If cash in what currency? Thanks.
You would need to have some money on you for your first few days till you set up your bank account then send the bank details back home for a wire transfer. No one verifies the money on your debit or credit card, as par routine you may be asked if you have anytin to declare cash inclusive and you only have to if you are carrying cash above $10,000 if i remember correctly. Why would you want to have so much cash on you when coming it is not advisable. A majority of Nigeria Bank cards all work in Canada (Visa & Mastercard) @N240 charge per withdrawal double check with your bank that it is N240 oo so your peeps can credit you in Naija and you withdraw in Canada. No bring Verve ATM card ooo or you'll be on a long thing.Note also that depending on your NaiJa Bank's policy you may be required to inform them you are going to Canada so that your Visa or Mastercard transactions will be flawless and not flagged and blocked as fraudulent transactions.

They need not be same surname, but A stranger cannot show up to sponsor you so u will need to show the relationship with sponsor n co-sponsor and why they are supporting you, SOP and Letter from sponsor should take care of that. Best of luck

yep, just went through and saw the self-sponsor markusens documents. Glad you took my advise and skimmed through the thread as i suggested. What you can do is go through his documents, noted the similarities and make a decision if you want to make your next application based on the similarities with his/her application or the options @jessicajessica and I suggested. Remember you alone gets to decide how you want to package your application. All we can do here is make useful suggestions which we sincerely hope leads to a successful TRV approval. The wish of everyone on this thread is to get a high percentage of approval from the CIC VOs. 100% approval from CIC Accra, Ghana make sense die.

Thanks u, so like how much you think,I can put in others expenses..... And also, are u saying, i should use someone as sponsor, and get co sponsor... because,my applications was delay twice now with the same reason with first application(Insufficient fund). And i want to know others that been granting there visa how they tackle those area. Thanks
Sorry to hear about your previous delay and if the reasons were only insufficient funds what it implies is that CIC is quite satisfied with your home ties n confident you will return to naija after your program. While we all wish we had sum1 with huge bank balance to support our application, personal circumstances differ from 1 person to anoda just as CIC treats each application according to evidence n documents presented. My advise and you are under no obligation to take it is,
1. Make your present co-sponsor the main sponsor and see if you can get additional documents showing assets to show financial ability.
2. E no easy sha I know but try to get an additional sponsor as co-sponsor (Family, Uncle, Aunt, Inlaw) with a good bank balance and steady income and ensure you show the relationship with these individuals and why they are supporting your application in your SOP and they in turn state in their sponsor letters why they are supporting you.

Then add your personal bank statement as well as the usual employment letters, payslips etc but don't state you are sponsoring any part of your studies as a self sponsor otherwise a spotlight will now be on your personal income, assets etc to know if you can sustain that part you are self sponsoring. It is always better to allow your sponsor and co-sponsor do the heavy lift where feasible whilst your own readily available 4M comes in as an added bonus as it will always be available for you to use as sole signatory.
Tuition - $16600
Living expenses - $10000
Others - $6K - 7K should be enough
Available funds for Stay = $33600 (covered by sponsors) + your 4M
just ensure available funds from your sponsor/and co-sponsor cover the $33600 and if possible stated in the sponsorship letter. Remember MBA if i'm correct in Canada lasts more than 12 months so your 4M goes a long way to cover those extra months

@jessicajessa, I m paying 16,600cad as tuition, add with 10,000cad accomdation and living expense, what will be in others...... And what will be in Fund Available for stay........ I m having 4m in my account and I want to sponsor myself and use co sponsor 5m account. Hope it will be ok,if I use myself as sponsor.paying for tuitions fees and co sponsor is assisting in area of Accommdation and living expenses. I m going for MBA. Am I good to go, for those that have filled this side of cic form pls help.
CIC requires you to show a minimum of CAD$10,000 for living expenses and maintenance for 12 month period ($833.33 per month) in other words na chop money and house rent be this oooo, in addition to your Tuition Fees. However, you should note that the CAD$10,000 does not include other expenses like for instance flight ticket to Canada and back from Canada as well as other contigencies. So you can use the space for Others on the form to state a sum covering flight tickets and show you will be receiving well above the minimum CAD$833.33 per month and please ooo whatever you state there make sure the SOA you are presenting covers all the big big money you have mentioned oo in Tuition, Living Expenses and Others. For Funds available for Stay in the form the sum can be total of the three above or closing balance of the sponsor's account depending on the contents of the sponsor's letter. Bros stating you are sponsoring your self with 4M na redflag oo for i am not coming back to naija, self sponsor hard to convince die, e no easy to prove home tie but some have made it through in previous thread. You can skim through the thread and read how dem package their application

obtaining an entry visa to any country does not grant the applicant automatic entry to the country,it is just a first step rather it is the immigration officer and in this case the UKBA officer who makes the final decision to allow or not, vary your visa conditions or even shorten your stay regardless of length of visa and this decision is based purely on information from your passport, visa application and questions asked and answered truthfully that co-relates to information given voluntarily on your visa application form. A simple yes but i'm not staying with relatives or friends on this trip and you present evidence of your hotel booking would have sufficed. Though he was deported i am sure a lot of nigerians who answered questions truthfully were granted entry that same day

I also need some help to go about getting an off campus accommodation or a temporary housing for a week or thereabout.

Hello house. I would advise anyone who wishes to know what their CGPA would convert to on a Canadian 4.0 scale to visit www.wes.org canada site and click on the iGPA calculator and take the time to input ur grades(alphabet) and credit hours and when you finish you get your naija cgpa converted to Canada 4.0 scale. It is just a suggestion though so that you don't waste application fees unnecessarily.
