Hi,
I also received a message on tuesday to check my account but no message there too.
House what could be wrong? huh huh
Nothing to fret about folks. It is just an indication that your application has been queued up for review by a visa officer which is an actionable activity on the back end but you will not get a message in your MyCIC account to this effect. Remain calm and keep prayer mode fully activated.

Hello house, I submitted my application via paper route on the 17th of this month.
The documents I submitted.

My document

Birth certificate
School transcript
School certificate
Waec certificate
Affidavit of return
Reciept of fees (half) C$7,110
Police clearance certificate
Nysc certificate
Cover letter
Motivational letter
Letter of admission

For sponsor.

Mum's SOA with 13m minimum balance
Documents of landed properties
Affidavit of sponsor
Letter of financial support

(no pay slip, birth certificate, letter of employment, family pictures..etc)

I'm getting scared cos, reading through this thread, (by the way, from page 6 to 9)I realise most applicants submitted more than what I had submitted under sponsor)
Is this a bad thing?

Also, I actually took pictures of my family and share certificates of my mum along to the vfs office during submission, but I found out later after I got home..that the pictures and the share certificates was excluded and placed back into the envelope I gave them.

I'm confused..
each application is reviewed on a case by case basis and from your documents posted above i think you have nothing to worry about moreso as your mother is your sponsor, though inclusion of her payslips and employment letter would have been good, you've included other documents showing the relationship and current trends indicate that VO's certainly gravitate towards parent sponsorship a great deal, so do not fret or be confused.

To d gurus in the house. Do you need to submit your passport copy when applying for online route. I guess the consulate will request for it if they want to grant your permit.

I have an important trip to make and i dont want my passport to get stuck with the consulate for over 2 months.

Please advise.

Thanks
Online application route does not require you to submit your international passport (Hard Copy), all you need to do is scan your international passport ensure it does not exceed 4MB and attach the scanned copy in the appropriate section in your MyCIC account.

Good day house, please I submitted my application on 10th September, but up till now no acknowledgement or any mail from VFS that my documents has been dispatched. I apply via paper route. Thank you.
simply use the tracking number on your VFS receipt to track your application on the VFS website that is the means of knowing application status for paper applicants.

It will be in your own best interest to include documents that actually prove that your sponsors do own property documents included with your application
1. It lends more credence to the veracity of their claims and means of verification if required.
2. It shows ability to meet their obligations as a sponsor(s) in liquid assets and cash.
3. Include your mum's SOA and 6 months SOA is much better.

How long does it take after medical for u to get your passport?
As long as CIC has received your medicals without a need for further tests and updated it to PASSED and your finances are okay if subjected to further review, it takes +/- 7days though it could be much longer during peak times.

I was refused Canada study visa based on these}

:travel history
:purpose of visit
:family ties in canada and in country of residence.
:Length of proposed stay in canada
:Limited employment prospect in your country of residence
:Your current employment situation

please any information as regards how to go about this? cos i plan re-applying on monday
Reapplying a week after refusal considering that virtually all refusal reasons was ticked by the VO is a recipe for another refusal garnished with another list of reasons by CIC.
Really, do you seriously think that in one week you would have a meteoric change in personal circumstances + purpose of visit to make a successful application?

I applied for study visa via online route about a month ago. I submitted an upfront medical along with my application. I got an update to my profile yesterday that I have passed medicals, but my documents are still been reviewed. Please any idea on what that could possibly suggest. Because ordinarily when u are asked for medicals it's a sign your documents are okay.
The application is still being processed and passing your medicals is just one of the numerous requirements and when your documents have been fully reviewed you should expect a passport request imminently.

So after everything my dad frnd introduced me to an agent that can help me out.... I paid my skol fee of one semester, statement of acct of my sponsor and his wife, ganrators letter, police characte report, tax clerance certificate, birth certificate, addmision letter, land and property prof, neco result, leter from his company that he will sponsor me through my 1 year.i sumited on paper dat july 21st but haven't heard from them till now so scary I need your advice.
It takes less or more than 8 weeks for an application to be processed and since you are a paper applicant you can use the tracking number on your application receipt on the VFS website to track once or twice a week preferably wednesdays or fridays to know if your application has been dispatched and if your application has exceeded normal processing time of 8 weeks you should consider opening a case specific enquiry. Goodluck

The information is so untrue, however I will advise he presents the Admission Letter from the institution with which he got the TRV at the POE, to avoid unnecessary troubles. Because of the difference in DLI #. Once he gets to Canada, he can switch schools and inform the other school he won't be coming again, because he got a better offer elsewhere. It's simple!
I agree with your suggestion completely and I think going by the moniker which is similar to the recording artiste Jhene Aiko the person who asked the question is a female.

Guyssssss please help,

So I was told that if I do decide to change schools when I get to Canada, i'll get into trouble. The school(U of L) will write a complaint to Cic.
The school possesses a scanned copy of my visa and letter of introduction.
Please help, how true is this? And what can I do to counter it?
Where exactly or who did you get this information from? As @ the time of typing this post you are still well within your right to change institution without any consequences.

Thanks @teesboy. I wish I could retract the mail....
Do not sweat it bruv it's no biggie, for clarification purposes, changes in address, marital status, child birth, phone number, e-mail address, employer to mention just a few are some of the documents/information that you can send after submitting an application or under processing without being asked by a VO and goodluck with your application.

Hi guys, please is it right to mail Accra visa office cos I did some hours ago asking them how I could get my south Africa police clearance to them which wasn't ready as at when I submitted my visa application.
I promised to get it to them in my letter of intent though when it is ready. Awaiting your responses friends....
You can only add additional documents to your application subject to the request of the VO processing your application. Since you've written about it in your LOE if the VO wants a copy of the clearance he/she will contact you not the other way round.

Am new here....pls can somebody respond to this;i got this email twice on 14th /9/2015 without approval email...

Visa application, tracking ID No..............– Your processed passport has been dispatched from the Canada Visa Office ACCRA , on 14/09/2015 to the Canada Visa Application Centre. To know more, please call VAC helpline number or visit VAC website
You made your application using the paper route and so what it means is that your application is closed and your passport and documents are enroute to VFS and if you did upfront medicals you should be expectant of an approval but if not, you have just been refused. Wait a few days/VFS email b4 heading to VFS to collect your package.

Find out from your school if it grants late resumption as some schools allow you to resume a week late or more depending on your program after the initial start date before you defer to the next session. If granted an extended resumption date please have this information handy @ the POE.

Hello house! My sponsor is mom's cooperative society, is it wise for them to pay both the tuition fee and upkeep for one year post grad into my account? thanks for your advice.
I know any company or business entity fully reserves the right to sponsor whomever it so pleases but i'd like to take a step back and ask a few questions,
1. Do you work for this cooperative in question and hold perhaps a management position ?
2. if the answer is yes to #1, for how long have you worked for the cooperative to have decided to sponsor you besides your mum being a member?
3. Is there any conditions attached to this sponsorship like returning to work for them etc?
4. Is your mum a director for the cooperative?
In my opinion the whole cooperative sponsorship will be deemed shifty by a VO if some of 1-4 above do not apply to you compared to say your mum obtained a loan from her cooperative which she will use to pay all expenses in full for purposes of investment in your education which i think cuts through a lot of clutter in addition to documents showing your home ties. I may be wrong but it's just a suggestion.

Please can someone submit your passport for you in Vfs
Canada Visa Application Centre, Abuja
Silverbird Entertainment Centre.
Plot 1161, Memorial Drive, 2nd Floor
Central Business District, Abuja

There is a Canada VFS office in Abuja, that is the address above. You can send your passport from there but ensure the Letter from CIC asking for the New Passport and possibly your VFS receipt from your application submission is handy and the VFS charge for secure transmission of passport to Canada High Commission in Accra @ the request of the Visa Office is NGN 7,690.

Hi everyone I need your help and advise. I was asked by the embassy to do a new passport and submit because the old one was damaged and I was given 14 days I had to travel to Abuja to do it and I can only get it on Monday and submit to Vfs on Tuesday while Wednesday is the deadline. Do you think they will receive it on Wednesday or what do I do. Please help
Submit the new passport on Tuesday as planned but try to submit it on monday if you collect it early and send an email ASAP explaining the slight delay in obtaining the new passport + the fact that it will be enroute to their office on tuesday via VFS.

Please, what do you advise?
just insist that the next bank statement is printed on the bank's official letterhead A4 paper, duly stamped, signed and dated + you could request for a reference letter from the bank as well which the bank will happily oblige and charge for it accordingly.

@ teesboy,
He was aware, I was submitting the SOA to the embassy. It was stamped & signed. The SOA was of the same format with the one I used for my first application. Moreover, I thought they have means of verifying SOAs.
Most embassies and high commissions now have genuine samples of various documents (Bank statements, marriage certificates from registries, School Certificates etc ) and the list is endless due to the high level of fraudulent documents attached with Visa applications in Nigeria. So when you apply for a Visa the document verification unit/department will compare what you have submitted to genuine samples and formats (watermarks, security seal, ink stamps etc) they have already before they'll even proceed for verification from the issuing source and in some cases no further verification will be required as they are fully satisfied your document is genuine. However, if what you submitted does not conform to what they have they will in most cases not even bother to verify and unfortunately the later was the case in your application.

thesoj, TheBae, Tnuola, Onyeoma3, Berexio et all...I just got my gcms, I dont really get what the VO is trying to say.
The Visa Officer is evidently questioning the authenticity of the Diamond Bank statement which you submitted with your application as it seems not to conform with the format which the High Commission document verification unit has on file. No offence but when you were obtaining the statement in question did you inform the CSR @ the bank that it was for Embassy/Visa Application purposes so it could be printed on appropriate letterhead and then dated, stamped and signed accordingly.

There is nothing to worry about bruv, before going for biometrics the status will be "we need the applicant's biometrics" and "not needed at this time" is the correct status after your biometrics has been successfully obtained and uploaded. So when are you starting the fasting and praying?

The problem with this threads (all the parts) is that there's just so maaaaaaaaaany irrelevant information, it's hard to sort them and comprehend. Abeg, I'm not trying to put anybody down. But I can't find the things I need, even after going through pages and pages of part7-9.

I see many people doing biometrics same day. Guess they applied with paper at the embassy. Can anyone please just let me know how I do biometrics, if I apply online? Thanks.
The fact that some questions asked and answered by peeps here do not apply to you for now do not make them irrelevant. Simply asking for how to proceed with your biometrics would have sufficed.
Now, after submitting your application online you will receive a biometrics instruction letter in your MyCIC account check under messages, print out this letter + international passport (hard copy) + two photocopies and head to VFS lekki or VFS abuja for your biometrics to be obtained. There is no extra charge if you submit online and NGN300 for SMS is optional.

good morning, pls my cousin got admitted into university of Manitoba(pbde in education) to resume in January, she just found out she's pregnant, pls what's her fate
, will she be given visa? (she's married)
An applicant being pregnant is not a basis for refusal of study permit. However, if asked to go for medicals, you will need to be honest and inform the Panel Physician carrying out your medicals that you are pregnant and depending on how far along the applicant is this will inform the doctor's decision to carry out either the usual full medical or delay certain parts of the medical due to health reasons until when a full medical can be undertaken.
I will suggest an upfront medical ASAP if she has not applied already.
