Yes i just went through it and it makes real sense. Now i am confused whether to choose a visitor's visa or the Open work permit. I need your advise please.
You would need to apply for an open work permit for your spouse and include your son as well so that when your PGWP is being approved, Your spouse and son get approval as well. Remember to fill your PGWP application properly and include all required documents as that is what determines if their application would be approved and he would be granted same length as your PGWP. Start reviewing the Express Entry program ooo because before you know the PGWP is close to expiration. Was your program a year or two year program?

Apple choice has nothing to do with someones information with the number of applications they recieve, they will most likely end in the bin.

Apple choice is real. but they are scaammers. eating on people who can,t use the internet or are lazy.
i hate seeing their adverts, they can make the ignorant ones believe its so easy.
Apple choice cannot be real and also be scammers at the same time, no offence but those are contradictory statements. Apple Choice may not force people to register with them but they should not be given the publicity they do not deserve. Please lets move on.

Evening nairalanders .. My family enrolled for the Apple choice visa lottery and we've been receiving mail from them on and on,filling many stuffz sha.... So ma question is after filling the canada immigrants and citizenship form sent to us by Apple choice, when can d travelling take placehuh?
Canada has no visa lottery program. Do not spend your hard earned money on so called immigration agents who are just waiting to pounce and milk money from you endlessly under the guise of helping you get to Canada. Be warned ......... Note as well that all agent related matters is also frowned upon in this forum.

The sponsor letter signed by him, but the affidavit of support of sponsor, I did at Ikeja High court, I only wrote his initials( A.A) just on my way to Lekki submission.
Could this signature discrepancy be the issue because these are only two documents missing!!!
when a sponsor is not your father or mother please ensure that whatever money is available to you from their bank account is stated clearly in their sponsorship letter and sponsorship declaration/affidavit of support if your uncle has $105,000 in his account he still has to state how much he will give you from that sum because he is not your father and has personal expenses of his own, letters addressed to an embassy and documents considered fraudulent are always withheld, signing an affidavit meant for your uncle was a wrong move you should have waited for him to sign himself even if it took a few extra days to get signed.

I wouldn't just hv pasted that without hearing from cic, they hv emailed me telling me doing medicals did not guarantee issuance of visa, so what else can I do than to prove I could personally finance myself, I don't need anyone to prepare ground for me in canada, God is enuf, want logical contribution please
No offence but you did not inform the house in your prior post that CIC has already replied your enquiries that doing a medical does not guarantee visa issuance. Lets endeavour to give full details so help can be rendered accordingly. Your application was probably reviewed by a more senior consular officer/manager who decided to overturn the decision taken by the VO who treated your application. It is a norm to randomly pick applications for review in visa section of various embassies.

This is not a disputed fact......
But we know call for medicals means "we are okay with your application, now go check if you're medically fit"
Any delay or refusal that can come after that should be medically relaated.
Why ask someone to go waste fee for medicals?
That's where I have an issue with....if the medicals were free I wudnt mind..
I agree with you that refusing an applicant for non health related issues after a medical which also cost addtional money is wrong but my earlier post was just to show that even when you have been issued a visa anything can still happen.

This recent refusal after medicals just further buttresses the fact that only the graced scalle over the line...
The difference between a TrV and a delay is just the extra grace.
being asked to go for a medical is still a step in the application process but the assumption has always being that it automatically means your visa is guranteed.
1. Even an already issued visa can still be cancelled by an embassy or High Commission if it has new information/reasons to do so.
2. An Immigration Officer at the port of entry can also refuse you entry into any country if he/she has new information on the screen or other valid reasons to do so as well regardless of a valid visa in your passport. Remember a visa is a privilege not a right until you are actually stamped entry into any country anything could still happen along the way.

TravelRe: Travelling To Canada Part 8 by teesboy:
I think CIC Accra has the answers sought by the applicants refused after being asked to go for medicals. What I will suggest and you are not obligated to adhere to it is to open a case specific enquiry using this link
https://secure.cic.gc.ca/enquiries-renseignements/case-cas-eng.aspx?mission=accra

write a formal letter asking for clarification and combine it with a copy of medical request letter and the refusal letter into a single PDF file and attach it in the link above. Please exercise restraint and be courteous in the wording of the letter and wait for a response which i think will finally put this issue to rest.

someone told me that a 3 credit hour course student won't get visa.
Academic institutions would usually require you to be registered for 9 credit hour courses as a minimum to be considered as a full time student for study permit purposes, Note that this does not apply to all schools as some schools would require a minimum of 12 credit hour courses to meet this requirement. You will need to review your prospective schools academic regulations and procedures handbook/brochure to find this information.

I think this is where online route has an advantage. .. atleast they will tell you if you have passed medicals or not rather than ticking insufficient funds...May God help us
I agree completely. The online route is still the best way to go though processing times for applications might be longer when summer months are approaching due to increased applications (students, vacation trips, family visits etc) but one undeniable fact is that you get updates on your MyCIC account for every stage of your application and do not have to wait for days just to find out if your application is approved or refused.

Some applicants are fortunate to get their study permit approved for a diploma program after a BSc degree but it is advisable to always apply for a program relevant to what you studied during your BSc program which shows academic progression. a Postgraduate program or MSc would be better when he/she is reapplying. When you do not meet the purpose of visit assessment by virtue of a program considered to be below a BSc degree then be rest assured that other reasons would be randomly ticked as well. If the diploma program is what you really want then use a postgraduate program for your application and switch to the diploma program when you are in Canada.

Hello, please for someone who applied using online route, how would you know your biometric has been sent/updated. Thanks
It is always advisable after your biometrics to log into your MyCIC online account to check if your biometric status has changed from "We need the applicant's biometrics" to "Not needed at this time". That is the definitive way of knowing that your biometrics has been successfully uploaded to your MyCIC account.

Seriously from a Masters Degree to a diploma not even a second Masters or Phd, pretty straight forward case for the VO to refuse.

mevisbleek:
Ehen brother,

1) the regular cic forms
2) sponsor personal soa with 74m and 30m fixed deposit (sponsor biological father). Plus sponsor data page
Doc of sponsor physical asset (plaza in lagos). Sponsor letter of sponsorship
3) transcripts from undergrad, masters and Nysc certificate.
4) sop (with plenty English which didn't work lmfao)
5) applicant data page with passport copy containing valid 2yr UK and USA and french visa (expired french visa)

The dude was coming for diploma sait after a master's degree from UK. He got phd admission in UK and will pursue that for Sept intake.
Well I advise him to go to UK for phd or begin import tokunbo toilet seat since his papa is into business. Lol.
TravelRe: Travelling To Canada Part 8 by teesboy: 8:22pm On Jul 03, 2015
Just a suggestion you are not obligated to adhere. I will advise you to make make a fresh application and it should be you alone without your wife and kid going with you this time as you can always bring them over when you get to Canada moving the entire family all at once is seriously a red-flag and considered a cheap way for you to migrate your entire family. if you can pay your fees in full to show academic commitment and you could write a letter of explanation as well highlighting the mix-up in your previous application but apply alone this time and they can join you later it is much easier that way. Canada study permit has no right of appeal like the UK don't bother writing several letters. all the best

It is always advisable you process your application yourself so that all documents included with your application come from you, I sure hope you are not about to fall prey to an agent who will claim all sorts just to pry money out of your hands, be warned there is nothing an agent will do for you that you cannot do by yourself, an agent has absolutely zero influence on the outcome of your application, take the time to go through this thread and you will not need anyone to apply on your behalf.

PLEASE IF YOU WANT YOUR CANADA VISA QUICKLY IN NIGERIA, DO NOT MAKE THE MISTAKE OF APPLYING ONLINE. YOUR APPLICATION WILL BE SENT TO ACCRA FOR PROCESSING AND IT WILL TAKE MORE THAN A MONTH TO PROCESS.

PLEASE DO PAPER-BASED AT VFS, IF YOU ARE APPLYING FROM NIGERIA. IT WILL TAKE LESS THAN 3 WEEKS TO OBTAIN A RESPONSE. IN ADDITION, IT WILL BE PROCESSED IN NIGERIA AND NOT IN GHANA.

GOD BLESS NIGERIA
I am sure your post was made out of a genuine desire to inform others, however i will politely disagree with you as the only way to fastrack your study permit application is by undertaking an upfront medical and attaching the e-medical document before submitting your application and yes all study permit application is processed in ghana (paper or online submission)

Thanks for the idea, i learnt i will get 8-months PGWP . Infact my field is listed in the express entry program, i have work experience + a band score of 7 in IELTS. so I guess am good to go by the special grace of God.

This difference in my first and second application is as thus,

September, 2015 intake...........
1st application:
Acceptance letter
paid 8000cad of 14000cad tuition
balance of 4.7m in SOA as self sponsor
Balance of 10m in Elder's brother's account as Co sponsor
Employment letter
Study leave letter without pay
SOP
Transcript
Required forms by CIC
Certificates

2nd application:
Acceptance letter
(paid balance 6000cad to complete tuition fee)
balance of 3.6m in SOA as self sponsor
Balance of 10m in Elder's brother's account as Co sponsor
Employment letter
Study leave letter with pay
SOP
Transcripts
Required forms by CIC
Certificates.
smart move to have done your IELTS before now what you need to do now is have your transcripts sent directly from your school and your credentials assessed as soon as possible by WES Canada so you can get yourself into the express entry selection pool sharp sharp, and if the stars align in your favour you may get an invitation to apply for PR before you complete your eight months program. Canada awaits you and I wish you all the very best

smart move oo. You know these VOs know they are Judge, Jury and Executioner and you have no right of appeal Lmao,I think we can both agree that no application is perfect and some testimonies here will attest to that, as some VOs will just overlook some things or even allow your sponsor stating they are responsible for all expenses to fly rather some will use the excuse of not stating the exact funds or the minimum funds available to you to refuse the application with insufficient funds as the reason even when the bank balance is more than adequate.

I think u are right, I also believe that pending the relationship of the sponsor ie brother, sister, father , mother or uncle they assume a certain percentage could be available for you.
my thought sha

Meanwhile the house has been very colorful lately
I concur as well and think the best thing going forward is for an applicant to always state exactly how much they are getting from their sponsors and for a sponsor to do same in their letter of sponsorship so that the VO is under no illusion as to total funds available for the applicant's study.

REASON: INSUFFICIENT FUNDS

2nd Application

14th May, 2015
Medical mail: 23rd June, 2015
Medical Done : 24th June, 2015

Alihamdulillah...........Wish every other person waiting for medicals success.

Allah is the Greatest!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I ALSO NEED ADVICE FROM EXPERT IN THE HOUSE THE BEST OPTION TO TAKE AFTER 8-MONTHS STUDY PERIOD.
i'm not an expert but here is what i'll suggest you can check out the Express Entry program on CIC website to see if you have a relevant occupation + the work experience required and if you are fortunate you could become a permanent resident in short time. Furthermore, hope you are aware that you get a postgraduate work permit after your program and it's dependent on how long is your program though a 2-year program may get a 3-year PGWP so review these options and plan accordingly.
Please in your spare time could you list your application documents and the changes you made after your refusal so others can learn from you as well.

I have been encouraged by the good news so far, I think it's high time I reapplied - I applied for the first time and had my biometrics in May, got denied based on "Availability of funds for studies and upkeep". I presented:

1. CIC application form + Family information form
2. Bank statement with 4.2million naira
3. Letter of explanation
4. Letter of sponsorship
5. International passport copy with previous visas
6. Letter of admission

Really painful because I have never been refused a visa before (Got a US study visa last year on the first try but unfortunately didn't travel because of issues with my school and I also visited Switzerland with my dad earlier this year).

Anyway, I am reapplying and here are the docs I will be presenting based on the reason for my earlier refusal:

1. CIC application forms + Family information form
2. Bank statement from my father's personal account with 6.5million naira
3. Bank statement from my aunt (co-sponsor) with 4.7million naira
4. CAC documents of my fathers company, where my name is listed as a major share holder.
5. 3 letters of previous government projects handled by my father's company (each worth about 10.2million naira)
6. Ownership documents for 2cars
7. Proof of part payment of my tuition fees via Int'l wire transfer - 7,000 cad
8. Letter from UPEI detailing their fees and costs
9. Upfront medicals (Haven't gone for it yet, first thing next week)

Please, did I go overboard, because I am a little concerned about the file size...although I haven't checked it yet.

CC: Mevisbleek, Team12 - wondering what the moniker means smiley chrisviral, tnuola etc
ensure both notarised sponsor letters especially your aunt state clearly how much she will make available for your stay. In other words how much is she giving you from her N4.7M

Actually the emirate would transit form lagos to dubai, dubai to seattle, seattle to calgary.

so I guess emirate wont work then huh
Emirates will work fine just avoid a flight that will transit in the US. So route your flight accordingly

Not true! Some emirates flights now transit through USA (For example if you are going to Edmonton ) except you are going to Toronto.
you cannot transit through the US switching your emirates plane from dubai to another one without a Valid US visa on your Nigerian Passport, US rules are different and we are not part of the visa waiver programme, student or no student don't give peeps the impression they can. Enough said oo. It is your responsibility as the customer to route your flights accordingly to avoid any issues.

So I understand if one doesnt have a US visa, then a stop Itinerary in us is no possible. Actually want to use emirate but I dnt have a US visa.

Please help see to this
if you are flying emirates then you have nothing to worry about direct airside transit in dubai does not require a transit visa, however if you were flying delta airlines for instance which has its hub in US then would need a transit visa or a valid US visa in any other category.

Hello all, I have just received my application document from canadian embassy Ghana after six weeks and I was refused study permit for lack of sufficient fund to pay my tuition fee. I am worried because I was admitted to a one year PGD program and the full tuition amount of about 25k canadian dollars have been fully paid for by my brother(sponsor) who also made available his account statement and fix deposit certificate in excess of 20m. The reason sited for my refusal is rediculous to me and I don't know what the real issue is. Can anyone advise? I was asked to reapply if situations change but i am considering just forgetting about all this foreign study
hell no too early to throw in the towel, no guts no glory bruv and fighters never quit, some peeps got their TRV @ the third or fourth attempt, whilst that is not the wish on the forum but it shows persistence pays off. If you ask me I will say this is just a minor setback. On any given day a different VO will approve an applicant with fully paid tuition and living expenses with additional 20M+ as bank balance. What you can do in your next application is attach your official school fees receipt if you did not in your first application and your brother should state clearly in his sponsorship letter that all expenses has been paid in full and you should do same on your letter of explanation to the VO repeatedly if need be. You will surely smile, oya now start to fill new application and try do upfront medicals this time so that na passport request you go just receive.
