i think if all the anti nigerians consider nigerian to have nio good, then, they ahve to rethink.

because to me, the very best good thing a country can offer its citizen is bringing him or her into existence.

so if no other country can bring u into existance apart from our great country Nigeria, then u need to celebrate that country. and if u think u dont still see any good thing from it.

plz can u change ur country of origin? no.

there is an organization now trying to raise and fight for Nigeria.

the organization is us, the Nigerian, u can be part of it by pointing out one good thing u have ever done for this country and also u have done for ur fellow nigerian.

it is time u guys join the Nigerian Developemnt Movement and we all fight for change.

www.ndm..com

get involved.
oh yeh? it's a good thing for a country to bring you into existence to suffer and not take care of you, right?
just like parents having children, it's one thing to be unable to take care of one's children, and another thing to be unwilling to take care of them

the best answer is the one given by SeanT21. this is the real driving rule
SeanT21:
You can go on yellow if there is no way you are able to stop.On the other hand if U can stop,Go ahead and stop!!
but if you're clear, no danger of accident or obstruction, then, you MUST STOP at amber (yellow), otherwise, it is a traffic offence.
if you know that you did not attend a real driving school, please do not make any contribution because, i can see that most people are giving answers according to what they think, not according to what they were taught in driving school.

Thank you Ceez I verified your information with someone and it was correct. My brother used the method and he used it this morning. He has called me from swiss today. I had to log in after he called to say a personal thank you to you. I am more than happy now. Please where are you or can you give me your email address?

Thanks a lot brooooo.

NB: Thank God I listened to you.
maybe you should ask your brother to tell you the kind of connection he used for travelling into switzerland from Germany because, switzerland is not a member schengen states, at least, not for now. so, it can't be ceez's information that helped him: that is a misinformation.
here is the list of today's schengen states:

http://consulfrance-vancouver.org/visas/anglais/listes/pays_schengen.htm

List of countries forming the Schengen region

Schengen is the name applied to a series of agreements that eliminate border controls between most but not all European countries.

The government of the following countries signed the Schengen agreements :

Austria
Belgium
Bulgaria
Czech Republic
Denmark
Estonia
Finland
France
Germany
Greece
Hungary
Iceland
Italy
Latvia
Lithuania
Luxembourg
Malta
Netherlands
Norway
Poland
Portugal
Romania
Slovakia
Slovenia
Spain
Sweden

Ireland and the United Kingdom, although members of the European Union, are not part of the Schengen area.

Canadians and several other nationalities do not require visas for short term visits to Schengen countries as long as they do not engage in non-tourist activities. Click here to consult the list of countries exempt from requesting a short stay visa for France.

However, prior to leaving their country of permanent residence for Europe, foreigners are strongly advised to contact the embassy or consulate of the Schengen countries they plan to visit to verify how long they are authorized to stay in each country without a visa. This is particularly important for travellers who plan to stay in Schengen countries for more than 90 days.

Travellers should ensure that their passports are stamped on entry and exit at the external borders of the Schengen area. The passport stamps serve as documentary evidence of a traveller's length of stay in Schengen territory. Officers at ports of entry might wave travellers through but it is in a traveller's interest to request an entry stamp. There is normally no passport control at borders between Schengen countries, and therefore the absence of an entry stamp from the initial Schengen port of entry could create difficulties during subsequent encounters with local police or other authorities.

It is important to note that the rules of Schengen countries governing the entry of foreigners is still evolving. For the most up-to-date and authoritative information, you should contact the embassy or consulate of the countries you plan to visit.

Good day chaps.
I had an issue yesterday.
I would like to get your views concerning traffic rules and regulations.

"Is it a traffic offence to move when the traffic light turns from GREEN-to-YELLOW, and not RED yet?"

Please send your comments based on the NIgerian context.

Thanks.
yes, it is a traffic offence to move when the light turns amber (yellow), "yellow" is a warning light to stop, and not a get-ready sign as some people think.

ceez:
xpriest I will give you an advice. Swiss is a schengen state so if your brother is in Germany there is nothing to worry about. Your brother should confirm if he can travel by bus or train from the city where he is to Swiss. Trains into Basel (swiss) might be 4 hrs from some cities in Germany. There will be ID checks in the trains but not for visas and entry permits. They can keep the ID or passport as long as almost during the whole the trip but tell your brother he doesn´t need to worry cos they return everyone´s ID before they get to the boarders.

There could be a control (check) in the boarders if you go by bus but again I say it´s not for visa unless you have done something or are travelling with something you shouldn´t have. That can lead to visa checks.  Flights are very good too cos there won´t be visa controls cos he will travel into the local terminal this time. Most times the problem would be as soon as you step out of the airport, another thing is how many international flights are coming in the same time, He should ask people so they can make the booking very well. If you can´t find someone, while this trade goes on and people share ideas I can give you more clarifications if you are still confused. But there is nothing to worry about, he should worry more about the city where he will stay than this trip. It´s 97% safe!
i'm afraid, you might be getting it wrong. yes, while schengen countries are said to be boarder free crossing, it's not for those who are illegal or those whose visas have expired. first of all, a traveller will have to be examined, and his passport or travel documents will be accessed and scrutinised before allowing him to get on board. so, while there might be no boarder control at the destinations, the actual checkings are usually carried out by the travel company's staff; being it airline, railways or buses. and yes, schengen countries may be boarderless, but that doesn't mean they allow non-eu passports with invalid travel doccuments to travel the boarders.
it is even easier by flight than by land in the sense that once you're able to beat the departure airport, you will have no problem entering the arrival country.
but by land, there are various check points with immigration officers who might not bother about checking the passengers (if all passengers seem to be whites). but with the presence of just one black among them, there will definitely be a random document check for every passenger to avoid being accused of racism. this makes many land transport companies try to avoid having a non-white as passenger because there are likely going to be delays at checkpoints just because of one black person. it's not racism, but just logical.
your suggestion will definitely get the guy into trouble that might send him back to nigeria because, if anyone is caught trying to cross the boarders without the right documents, it is regarded as a serious immigration crime which will involve more than one country and will surely result in jail and then-after deportation.
though i'm not soliciting this, but the best thing the subject can do is to consult a syndicate (or connection man) who will do it their own ways; these guys know how to go about their own illegal travel business.

71 immigrants drown
Article By: Thu, 28 Aug 2008 07:44
Seventy would-be illegal African immigrants to Europe perished when their boat sank in the Mediterranean Sea, according to eight companions rescued on Wednesday off Malta, officials said.

If their tale is confirmed, it would be one of the worst such incidents ever recorded off Malta, a target destination for Africans trying to reach Europe in often-flimsy watercraft.

The survivors were plucked out of the water by a Maltese fishing vessel, the Madonna di Pompei, from a semi-submerged dinghy 70 kilometres (40 nautical miles) off Malta, then transferred to a military patrol boat.

An Armed Forces of Malta twin-engine Islander patrol aircraft went out to the area to look for other survivors, but none were found.

It earlier emerged during police questioning that the original group consisted of 79 people — all men, apart from eight women, four of them pregnant, and one child.

But a UN official later placed the original number at 78.

Investigations were continuing, a police spokesperson told AFP.

The passengers, all African, had apparently set sail from Libya last Thursday and hit bad weather, said Neil Falzon, a representative of the UN High Commissioner for Refugees in Malta, who met with the survivors.

Four of those dead were women, three of them pregnant, he said.

"On Monday, the rubber dinghy started taking water and it overturned with the immigrants drowned," Falzon said. "They just kept holding on to the dinghy until last night they were spotted by the Maltese fishing vessel."

He identified the immigrants as Eritreans, Ghanaians, Somalians and Sudanese, according to news reports.

"My appeal goes to the government to release these immigrants from the detention centre because of their health and traumatic conditions," Falzon said, adding that three needed urgent medical care.

Malta, the smallest of the 27 EU member states, is a target for Africans trying to get into Europe by boat from North Africa, with Libya being the most common point of departure.

Some 1700 illegal immigrants landed on Malta in 2007, according to an AFP count.

On Sunday, more than 100 illegal immigrants were brought ashore in two separate operations off Malta.

The last case of serious loss of life off Malta came in May 2007 when 53 would-be immigrants perished at sea.

"Nothwithstanding that they know about (previous) tragedies, these desperate people still try and make the journey to Europe," Falzon said.

Some 380 illegal immigrants have died at sea over the first six months of this year in the Sicily Canal, the Mediterranean strip between Sicily and Tunisia, the aid charity Doctors Without Borders estimates. About 500 died there in 2006.

Elsewhere on the Mediterranean, the crew of a Dubai-bound ship discovered 14 stowaways aboard off the coast of Algeria this week. It turned them all over to the Algerian authorities, coast-guard officials in Algiers said on Wednesday.

Eighteen African immigrants drown off Canary Islands
by Mnet on Mon 16 Feb 2009 02:36 PM GMT  |  Permanent Link  |  Cosmos
Eighteen African migrants, some of them children, die as they try to reach the Canary Islands in a wooden boat.

LANZAROTE, SPAIN (FEBRUARY 16, 2009) FORTA -
Spanish coastguards found the corpses of 18 immigrants, some of them
children, off the coast of Lanzarote in the Atlantic after their boat sank on
Sunday (February 15), emergency services said.

Coast guards plucked six immigrants from the water alive after their
boat sank around 7 p.m. local time (1900 GMT) in the waters off the most
northerly of the Canary Island chain.

Emergency services believe the boat was thought to be carrying between
24 and 28 people.

Over the weekend two other boats carrying 145 people, around 20 of them
children, landed safely on nearby Tenerife.

Rights groups say the majority of immigrants trying to make the voyage
on rickety open-topped boats die in their attempts to make it from West
African countries
like Mauritania and Senegal to Spain and a better life in
Europe. They accuse criminal gangs which run the trade of failing to equip the
boats with enough fuel, water and accurate navigation instruments, condemning
many of the immigrants to death at sea.

A total of 13,424 illegal immigrants arrived last year -- 9,181 to the
Canaries -- down from a peak of 39,180 overall in 2006, according to the
Spanish Interior Ministry.

huge number of people trying to get to europe by land do not make it alive, the ultimate risks in this daring trip indeed outweigh the sacrifice. let's consider the risks factors involved and the ratio between those who succeed and those who died trying to. . .
how many people we see drowning in the Mediterranean sea every now and then on euronews? what about those who died by the roasting heat of the sahara deserts, is it those who are being killed by armed rubbers or those bitten by desert snakes and scorpions? did i add those who starved to death on the (many days) long journey without food nor water? what about those who are stranded in the middle of no where and can't even find the money or means to return home?
in fact, no journey man succeeds without being rescued by coast guard or the eu navy.
with all these and many other factors, one can understand that the amount of those who succeed does not even represent 15 percent of the people who attempt the journey because, even the people lucky enough to succeed by rescue teams are then kept to be fed with the long needed food and eventually deported. learn a lesson. chao

There were other immigrant boat arrivals on the Spanish mainland also yesterday.

The bodies of 14 dead immigrants who died from hypothermia were on board a boat which arrived on Gran Canaria yesterday morning.
The 46 survivors on the boat said that they had been adrift for ten days.

It means at least 120 immigrants have died trying to reach Spain so far this year.

A group of 39 immigrants spotted yesterday afternoon when 55 miles off Motril have now been escorted into Motril Port. There was one woman among the travellers who are all reported to be in good health. They will now be identified and returned to their countries of origin.

And another group of Moroccan immigrants arrived close to the lighthouse at Cabo de Palos, near Cartagena in Murcia. The group of 12 were spotted by a fishing boat, and helped ashore by two local Spaniards around 7pm last night.

you don't have to encourage people to take that suicide mission that you described in your long list on how to get into europe by road and on foot. you failed to include the risks involved and the ratio between those who succeed and those who died trying to.
how many people we see drowning in the Mediterranean sea every now and then on euronews? what about those who died by the roasting heat of the sahara deserts, is it those who are being killed by armed rubbers or those bitten by desert snakes and scorpions? did i add those who starved to death on the (many days) long journey without food nor water? what about those who are stranded in the middle of no where and can't even find the money or means to return home?
in fact, no journey man succeeds without being rescued by coast guard or the eu navy.
with all these and many other factors, one can understand that the amount of those who succeed does not even represent 15 percent of the people who attempt the journey because, even the people lucky enough to succeed by rescue teams are then kept to be fed with the long needed food and eventually deported. learn a lesson. chao

bandiejay and cvibe,  are you guys trying to say that there's no restaurant in bamako, mali, and that the country is all desert and no homes or buildings? huh
com'on! you don't have to encourage people to take that suicide mission that you described in your long list on how to get into europe by road and on foot. you failed to include the risks involved and the ratio between those who succeed and those who died trying to.

TravelRe: Can I Tavel Back With D Same Visa? by Tegese: 11:27am On Nov 27, 2008
it depends on the given number of entry, if it says "multi", then you can use it multiple times, but if it indicate single (or nothing is indicated) sorry, you can't use it. the only visa you can use more than once is the visa with the stated word "multi"
Your question has been partly answered by Ogidiboy.
Just some few advise,
Give ur self a year for evidence gathering and another year for immigration protocol. If u rush it you re likely to fail in ur quest, if they find anything wrong in the application. You can't fool them at all so don't think it!. Make sure the lady comes to Nigeria atleast twice if not you will be put on administrative process if they don't find any reason to denial you, administrative process can be from 2 to infiniti years. Until u tell them u re no longer interested. Pray that ur names don't clash with names of wanted terrorist or wanted Nigerians who visited and committed crime in the past, don't forget till date most Nigerians apply for international passport with imaginary nigerian names especially drug peddlers and 419 peeps, even govt top official use imaginary names to cover their tracks of financial scam when they leave office because' of lack of identifiable ID card, an imaginary name to them could be someone else real names. Some people have names similarities that sometimes clash during background check with FBI in the USA although you will be cleared via ur finger print taken at the consulate, it will take a long time, a 6-8months wait will end up becoming 2yrs wait.
Also note that it is a wait game that require patience and the consular officer knows that too well, that is one of the reasons you can't outsmart them!, love can wait, the process will test ur patience to the max. to see if u understand that.

During the waiting process 2 faults can occur:
*One likely from ur end
*The other from her end.
Note - a background check will equally be done on her, so u have to find out before a bang occurs:-
*Has she ever lived on govt. benefits since 18? They don't want you to come to America and become a nuisance to the govt by living on govt benefits before u become a citizen. If she has done it before they might likely conclude on a reoccurance. If she has a long work history it will boost ur application.
*what's the sequence of her past marriages if any?, has she ever married a foreigner and file for such person in the past? If she has, they might conclude its a scam, that foreigners are paying her to acquire citizenship via marriage and investigation will take off from there.
*Has she ever been involved in a violent crime including robberies, murder, kidnap or gun runing gangs since she was 18?
* Has she ever been convicted and sent to prison apart from jail for minor offences?
don't waste ur time if she can't give u a simple straight answer to these questions. because' ur file will be summitted without any review and the next time she calls immigration they will tell her ur file is missing, a missing file is a sign of a red flag.
It is also advisable to use a lawyer because a silly mistakes while filing can send you back to square one!, don't forget its a waiting game based on a turn by turn basis if there is an error in ur filing ur file goes behind and line-up again.
It is also an expensive process and could cost up to $5000USD inclusive of return air ticket of the lady to Nigeria twice, immigration filing fees which is $1000 as at today, visa fees for u, Medical fees to include HIV test. If u eventually get the visa and u are flying to join her, that $5000 becomes $6,500, if u re using a lawyer a below average immigration lawyer in the USA would accept $3000 and $6,500 becomes $9,500.

So ask yourself do u have the patience?
Can both of u fund it so u don't dropout along the way.
Do u guys love each other enough till death do u part to go thro' this patience testing process,

On ur part you will need to privately go for HIV test, it will be a waste of time, money and patience if u don't know ur status now and the worst becomes a revealation during ur interview. Secondly, 10% deceitfulness would be erase from the visa officer if it is discovered that you have never applied for a visa to the USA in the past during record check. Your chat/phone call evidence must be large enough to convince the visa officer. If u claim to have known her for 1yr you should have weekly phone records and chat evidence for one yr to prove ur claim, all chat records must be printed out and submitted during ur application. Even tho! they might not read it. Remember they act on sensor more than documents. If they sense u are well prepared u will be successful during d interview.
God bless you, you're the real dude as you name says
