Finally, Peter Obi has joined the Labor Party after leaving the People's Democratic Party (PDP).

He looks like a credible candidate. One that also tells us that perhaps PDP is not better than APC after-all.

My question is: Did he make a mistake to have left PDP? Will you vote for him (Or any other candidate you feel is best for the post) regardless of the party he is?

According to BBC, the Academic Staff Union of Universities ASUU has extended the strike action by 12 weeks starting from 12:01 am on Monday, 2022.

The ASUU president, Emmanuel Asodeke that announced the extension at a press statement said the union took the decision after the National Executive Council had an emergency meeting at their secretariat in the University of Abuja.

He said they extensively deliberated on the government intervention to end the strike action so far and discovered that the government refused to live up to their responsibilities as regards the issues they raised in the 2020 FGN/ASUU MOU. They decided to roll over the strike by 12 weeks to give government time to satisfactorily resolve all the outstanding issues.

I am trying to prepare for a talk this weekend. I intend to use Proverbs 18:1 to buttress the point that it is not good to isolate ourselves from people. I wanted use the International Standard Version which says, "Whoever isolates himself pursues selfish ends; he resists all sound advice."

What worried me is that, when I read that same passage from other versions of the Bible, I was confused. In fact, the King James Version portrayed it in a positive light. Should we be worried about the version of the Bible we read?:

King James Bible
Through desire a man, having separated himself, seeketh and intermeddleth with all wisdom.

New International Version
An unfriendly person pursues selfish ends and against all sound judgment starts quarrels.

New Living Translation
Unfriendly people care only about themselves; they lash out at common sense.

English Standard Version
Whoever isolates himself seeks his own desire; he breaks out against all sound judgment.

New King James Version
A man who isolates himself seeks his own desire; He rages against all wise judgment.

Are the two qualities mutually exclusive? Who says people with high IQ cannot be submissive?

Last night, the rain that fell in Ibadan cause so much damage. One of such was two cars and a bike that were destroyed after the fence of a filling station they parked beside fall on them (see pictures).

Like a silver linen in the cloud, the driver of one of cars just came down to take refuge in a near by bar when the ugly event occurred.

I am wondering if the car owners will sue the filling station for damages or they will just thank God for life.

What a shame. Those that caused the wahala will just be laughing at them

you can like him all you like but there is a 1991 agreement to which Ukraine and the west are signatories that forbids any further eastward expansion of NATO. Everybody is blaming Putin but most are ignorant of the facts. Ukraine joining the EU a or NATO (which they have been pushing for) goes against the agreement that ended the Soviet Union. Putin's motive for invading Ukraine is the threat of NATO on his doorstep. better to invade them now when they are not EU or NATO members.

I hope you are not the ignorant one. Do you even know your history? The said "agreement" was in December 1991 and as at 2013, the agreement was missing. The Ukraine President denied agreeing to such a thing.

Meanwhile, do you think even if such an agreement existed, Russia did not "breach the contract" with the Crimea issue?

After what Russia did about Crimea, it makes sense if Ukraine chooses to join NATO and/or EU
