I also posted a link giving you the myriads of gods the Japanese worship .
Then I said for the atheists in Japan , it is not the type of atheism you subscribe to that the Japanese do , they are atheists because they are adherents of Confucianism , Buddhism and Jainism that do not worship any deities .
Plus there are so many minor religious groups in Japan like Islam , Christianity , Judaism , Chinese folk religion , Sikhism and so many others .

LiberaDeus: Oh Christians are scientists quite alright but in this modern day, the percentage of Christians reduces when you go deeper into the scientific fields. Even the Christian scientists are very much the liberal type that don't take all the bullshit in your story book serious.
I don't just think that there is no god. I came to that conclusion by considering facts from fields of rational thought like geology, textual criticism of the bible, astronomy, biology, history, archaeology, anthropology and most importantly basic LOGIC. Christians could have arrived at that conclusion if they followed this path but their minds are too lazy to consider all the necessary facts that's why you guys are still stuck in the religious mental prison.
Vision is not the only way humans perceive things. We don't see air but we feel its effect, we don't see diseases but we see their effects. Coming to your god Yahweh, I don't see him, I don't see his effects or should I say I don't see anything occurring that can be specifically traced to him and not other gods. There is no measurable alteration of reality that can be solely traced to your god the same way you can not make the rock in my backyard the sole cause of the events in the world.
Sorry my friend, even electrons have been seen with high powered microscopes so atoms are not even an issue. But before we could see them we could see the effects of their existence.
Pleas bring tangible evidence of your imaginary friend Yahweh. The deeper you go the more you ascribe these wonders to God. You are one of those black Africans who think that all people of the western world are atheists because they are educated and have unraveled what you think are the mysteries of God. You're wrong. Science and religion can never be compared. So all you atheists can stop trying to use science explain away religion, when religion metaphysical. One is physical and one your science can't even explain. Science is simply a standard of education. It is attainable to all men. It is not equivalent to disproving God.If you want to do that, use metaphysical evidence. You are trying to measure Angstroms with a specimen in a Petri dish. Use the right apparatus. I'm done with the ones who say they're rational. Naijadeyhia, kingebukasblog and all of the nice Christian posters, please, don't mention me on these religious threads with atheists. They aren't the most logical people you will find. Neither are they intelligent. Their rationality is limited to the things they can attack because they are scared of the others. Imagine a situation where atheists say witches don't exist, but they are told how to meet them and they refuse to because they actually believe in them and are scared of them(I don't have time, more arguing without addressing all questions to them or quietly ignoring posts). These are the same people who subscribe to collecting data and behaving as if everything must be tested and proven, when they are scared to test and prove things except swallowing the scientific research of others. Lol. A funny bunch. Until the atheists here take on investigation they remain the epitome of frustrated Christians with a scientific educational background. I used to take their main man as an intellectual, until he proved himself to be merely armed with a data subscription. |

LiberaDeus: Is extrapolation not logical. Extrapolation is used in physics equations, equations that have helped in creating modern vehicles and combustible engines.
In science there is nothing like ultimate info just verifiable, concrete info. Such info can change when methods change and new facts come to light.
Its you religious people that think in terms of ultimate, final, supreme etc always trying to use psychology and an appeal to authority to enthrone petty pseudoscience as truth.
You know what's greater than your religion? Mathematics
Anytime any day, mathematics can provide much more verifiable and trusted facts than your useless prayer and religion. Mathematics is trusted by petty traders, physicists, biologists, economics etc they use it everyday, they use quadratic formulas, algebraic theory, basic algebra, trigonometry and these methods never fail them. But your religion and its useless prayers are as useless as praying to a stone, few prayers work, most dont, most are delayed. But you still hang on because you are scared of an unverified hell that you can't provide proof of, the only proof is by blind faith. Is it not a fool that will take blind trust as real evidence.
So tell me between the rational atheist and the delusional Christian who seems more stupid. In your null set mind, you believe that Christians aren't scientists. That's why you're explaining of all things extrapolation. You think that because you don't think there is a God that it has automatically made you more rational and logical than theists. Your epistle is over something that highlights the stupid way atheists regard religion. If you can't see God he doesn't exist. If you can't see the data for yourself it doesn't exist, going by that "rationality". You are delusional for believing that atoms exist when you have never seen one. You are delusional to think that theists are deluded. Continue extrapolating. I'm sure it will explain a lot of life to you. |

LiberaDeus: Why must you Christians publicly display your ignorance and small mindedness.
Am sure you dont believe the human cell exists because you haven't used a microscope before. Am sure you don't believe crude oil is drilled from the ground since you haven't used a drilling machine before or worked on a rig.
What if gold, have you excavated gold before? How do you know where it's really gotten from?
Have you seen the spherical earth before? Am sure that means that the earth must be a flat disc like you can observe with your eyes.
Coming to astronomy, people use telescopes which are like gigantic binoculars. Telescopes that can process light coming from trillions of miles away. In case you dont know, light has a speed of 300,000km per second in case you are wondering how light from faraway galaxies gets here.
Just because these facilities don't exist in our Nigerian universities doesn't mean that they don't work or the theories learnt from them are false.
The person that believes in modern astronomy is hundred times saner than the person that believes in talking snakes, talking donkeys, pregnant virgins, parting oceans and all the usual Christian drivel. The person that believes in astronomy has much more tangible proof at least he can observe telescopes and see photographs while the Christian only has his blind faith.
You should have just simply asked how we know they are 100 billions galaxies instead of stubbornly insisting that its wrong.
We know the number of galaxies because we can observe them, if you use a telescope and you have the time you can literally count 2 million galaxies with your eyes . How do you know we have over 100 billion cells in our body? Well if you have the time and you use a microscope you can literally count 2 million cells in your finger nail.
So please brother stop embarrassing Christians. The believe in a dead Jewish rabbi that happens to be the sacrifice for your great grand fathers sins is ridiculous enough please don't add to it. Christianity is stupid enough we don't need more stupidity. Let sleeping dogs lie. It doesn't change the fact that you're operating on extrapolation. And that that guy believes in the data from Kepler Space Observatory being the ultimate info. Atheism is stupid enough, we don't need more stupidity. |

Superb article
Atheism also has a lower retention rate compared to other worldviews . Researches have revealed that atheism is nothing but a transitive state for many individuals . In the US , only 30 percent of those who grew up in an atheist household remain atheists .
China as an atheist state is intolerant of religious beliefs and practices , totally verboten but Christians keep proliferating and it is projected to become the world's most Christian nation :
The Soviet Union was a communist state and after it collapsed , the population of atheists in those countries that made up the Soviet Union plummeted , its currently insignificant .
Researches also revealed that most atheists can't say with certitude that God does not exist . Even Richard Dawkins said : I can't be sure God does not exist . So I ask this ornery man , if you can't say with certitude God does not exist , why launch polemics on those who acknowledge the existence of God ? Same goes to every atheist on this forum . Most of them are in their youth , like I noted , atheism is a transitive state in their lives, when they get older they'll surely go back to God or subscribe to other worldviews ( facts buttressed this claim ) . Been a while I last visited these posts. As for your post: word! They won't like it one bit. Atheism is mostly for teenage rebellion, truly. People who don't grow out of it usually stay holed up in it, angry at a God they claim doesn't exist. What a way to live. |

DarkRebel101: It wasn't a crowded bus. There were just about 6-7 persons standing, including the woman and her children. It was on a Sunday morning and they were probably running late for Church and couldn't wait for the next bus.
I agree the man personifies uncouthness. Sunday... Morning |
Family › Re: My Husband Always Shouts At Me In Public by Tellemall: 6:19am On Nov 15, 2016 |
DarkRebel101: I witnessed something similar about two weeks ago in a BRT bus. A man, his wife, and their two children boarded the same bus as did I; and it so happened that while the man found a place to sit, the wife and the children did not and so had to stand.
Fifteen minutes later, someone alighted from the bus thus creating a vacant seat which the woman immediately sat on; and just as she was beckoning her two kids to come sit on her laps, her husband exploded in a fusillade of rage and commanded his wife to stand so that his children could sit.
That instant, my face creased into a deep flesh canyon of disbelief, and even more so when the woman sheepishly cowered in humility characteristic of a Catholic nun.
Who knows how long the woman has been subjected to such harassment? I pitied her greatly because she seemed completely resigned to her fate.
[...]
OP, your husband is just like the man in that story, and that is immature, insensate and proud.
Lao Tzu once said that, “All streams flow to the sea because it is lower than they are. Humility gives it its power.”
One of the things your husband needs to learn is how to be humble.
...
Now to the main issue: my advise is that you investigate the activities your husband has been involved in as of recent.
I also need you to answer these questions:
On a scale of 1-10, how physically attractive is your husband? Could it be that his physical ‘uninterestingness’ is the cause of his frustration? Perhaps he hasn't been receiving sufficient attention from the opposite sex?
Is he ankle-deep in a financial pinch? Is he in debt? Such can make a man-woman frustrated and, consequentially, depressed.
Do his family members constantly put the squeeze on him so that he might cater for their needs? He might just be overwhelmed and feel boxed in by the pressures put on him.
Has any of his family members, colleagues, or close friends died as of late? Death tends to inflict a heavy toll on a person's mood and so that might be the cause.
Has he any history of violence? And please do away with those ingenuous sentiments about how he was a saint during courtship. Courtships are hardly where the true character of a man-woman is revealed.
...
As they say, ‘‘frustration begets anger; anger begets aggression”.
I think your husband is frustrated, and might just be suffering from a phenomenon which psychologists call displaced aggression’, or as those in the military would put it: ‘stress-rolling’.
Displaced aggression is when someone for lack of being capable of challenging the source of his frustration due to the fact that he-she feels that he-she cannot conquer it, directs his-her anger instead to someone perceived to be weaker and less capable of reprisal.
For example: my boss may have hauled me over the coals for a task poorly executed, and knowing fully well that I can't yell back at my boss or impugn him, I would rather suppress my anger and take it out on my wife or child. That's what displaced aggression means and I think your husband is going through just that.
...
And OP, have you tried talking to him?
Have you expressed to him, the discomfiture that his actions are causing you?
If not then that should be your first line of action. If that doesn't work then you should ask his family members or trusted friends to have a tête-a-tête with him; and if that still proves abortive, then you should perhaps consider a belt-and-braces approach — though I wouldn't advise such as fire can never be quenched with fire.
Temporal separation until he turns over a new leaf could also be a last resort. Everything is wrong with that man on the bus. What sort of man gets on a crowded bus with his family? What sort of monster will sit his scaly hide down while his wife and children are left standing? What sort of stupid creature doesn't let the wife carry the children but screams at her to let them sit and that she should stand, when she had the aim of getting them all to sit since he didn't in the first place? Is that really a man? Oh, wait, I almost forgot. African men and Asian men must be the most horrid creatures ever born of woman to roam the planet. I guess culture has reduced their reasoning to the lowest levels. Figures. Conclusion: Many lowlifes are to be found on crowded buses. The ones who drive are a menace to only themselves, thankfully. |

ujiriukiri: I talk about all religion, christianity and islam have the most followers in Nigeria and christians are more on NL than any other! I often refer to "religious groups" and their "holy books"
To the questions in your second paragraph? Aren't you talking about the brain? When the brain stops function, there goes the man too (at least for now). Studies are being carried out to make computers act like the brain would.
I've posted biblical verses that show the earth is flat. I'll post it on here, later for you, ok!
If you have a loads of cash, you can actually see the positron. Several universities including Caltech carry out paid viewing. Its just expensive. No one has seen god. Your bible says so!
Science attempts to unravel everything and once it unravels a thing, that thing cannot be classified as "supernatural" anymore.
As I said earlier Science changes based on new evidence unlike religion that holds to its belief despite shattering proof.
I haven't figured out the most correct answer to the question "why are we here?" But I reject the convenient answers in religious text. I'll rather live my life for myself, and to further prosperity of humanity until I find a "more accurate" answer!
You seem quite intelligent, can you prove to me that your god exists? I'll send you my email so we do not go off topic here! I'm relieved that you refer to all religions. The reason I stated that was because most Nigerian atheists seem to only have a grudge with Christianity(probably because they were once Christians). It must be very strange and impossible to have up to half of the world's population hallucinating the same supernatural belief at the same time, independent of location, religion and year. There are those who never learned of it but still experience/experienced it. If you must admit it, that is strange. I am not talking about the brain. I'm talking of the essence of a living thing. When a person dies some bodily functions continue until that unseen thing that held the joy and laughter of that person vanishes. Science tells us that energy is changed from one form to another, where does that peculiar life energy go to when people expire? Where is it recycled to for future use? Where do the dreams and hopes of that person go? The reason a computer can't act or think like a human is because of that thing that gives man choices, that conscious undetectable thing that inhabits a body until it has no life in it again. When scientists began to delve into the subconscious and ideas such as mind reading, it made purists balk. Science is good at explaining the world around us but it cannot handle things that have different spatial measurements, things that are beyond its hold, things that do not exist under its rules. That thing of which I speak can never be put under an electron microscope, weighed, it's quanta can never be determined, it will remain to baffle those who do not wish to see it for what it is. I may not have the right words to convey what I am trying to describe, but this thing is like a matrix. If you check my posts on religion, I do not aim to prove that God exists to people who refuse to believe it. We can go on for years and nobody would've changed their opinions. I thought atheists would give life a deeper meaning and put more thought into the things they don't understand about religion, that's all. I find that most atheists are scared think outside of the world of abstract figures, afraid of getting contagion from the thoughts of theists, so that they fail to treat all things equally. The more intelligent ones usually shift to agnosticism after a while. The most I can do is tell you that God exists. If the seen exists, the unseen must exist too. Everything is about balance. I do not think that is something to deliberate on. |
Christianity Etc › Re: Do Witches & Wizards Exist? I Don't Think So! by Tellemall: 7:15am On Nov 12, 2016 |
ujiriukiri: @tellemall
The scientific method is applied to everything science deals with. "Holy books" on the other hand claim to know what is and have several times in the past proved themselves wrong. One of the beauty about science is that it is subject to change. If more evidence about a theory proves the theory is wrong, we do not just blow these evidence off, rather we experiment more so as to know the truth.
Many have not seen the positron but its application is undeniable. Same with your god, many have not seen it but I dare them to prove his existence. According to the bible(old testament) god would prove itself when questioned/challenged. Why does that not happen anymore. Science is never scared of confrontations. Actually it strives to be seen, to clear all existing doubts.
Actually its the bible that said the world was flat, philosophy suggested otherwise and science proved the earth is indeed spherical.
Btw I know the physics behind positrons, I just haven't had the opportunity to experiment with it because of the limited technology in Nigeria. The Bible never said the world was flat. I think there has been a failure to investigate that properly.(Can we please not talk about Christianity as if it's the only religion?) What exactly does science deal with? Would you not agree that science attempting to unravel the subconscious and thought patterns is an attempt to touch one of those invisible things that religionists claim to hold superior knowledge on? Is it matter or the inner man that science after? What is the inner man, that nameless substance that makes each individual unique? What is that unseen thing that leaves a body when it is dead? The thing that sums up the man? The thing that laughs at jokes and weeps in itself? If we are to treat science the same way religion is treated, nobody would believe in it. One moment it's one thing then the next it changes. It's not consistent. It's just like religion, according to atheists. Now, until we can adequately quantify positrons by means that laymen can understand, not the clerics of science(professors, scientists, etc), it doesn't exist because we've never seen them. It's just a few who claim these things. They must be hallucinating. The above is the general atheist approach to religion. And it seems ridiculous. We have heard of the theory/physics behind positrons, but we personally have never seen them prove their existence before our eyes. PS: It will take many years before Nigerians will get to the stage of viewing particles. If ever. Previously you mentioned that scientists ask the question, "why are we here?" I'm not going to preach to you, but why do you feel that's what science seeks? And what do you think the answer is? |

ujiriukiri: The questions were thrown at @seun but I''l like to give my opinion
Why do you doubt that one wouldn't believe? Do you doubt the power of your God to show one the "dark forces" that exist?
Its quite hard and frankly damn impossible to quest for the supernatural. The word supernatural means something that is beyond nature. How can man explain it. Every attempt by creationist to explain the supernatural (God) is false and their "holy books" is their only reference. Scientific laws are only accepted if and only if they have been tested with all(and different) variables and can be repeated over and over again. Scientist aren't looking for god, we are just trying to answer the question "why are we here?" and have simply rejected the seemingly convenient answer given to us by creationist.
I for one have never seen a positron but I have seen its application, and numbers don't lie (I know the physics behind it). The positron annihilation spectroscopy is used to detect flaws in solid objects (among other uses). Every time its put to the test, it delivers. It doesn't cherry pick when it would function, I can't say the same for your god. While you've taken time to answer this, your seun of atheism instead focused on a line of my comment. Why can't you guys answer all the questions? Science told you positrons exist, you haven't seen them. They keep performing experiments and ascribing it to these positrons. You don't really know the mechanism or if what they say is actually true, because what they call evidence you have never seen yourself, millions of people have never seen it. Just a deluded set. They fed you a means of approaching positrons and you believe it, but could it be possible something else is actually responsible for what they call positrons? After all, it's a few people who have seen these things and are telling the populace everything. What you have is hearsay. Too much scientific babble from childhood accumulating. Pretty much the same way they told everybody the world was flat. And that humors flowed in the body. If you've not seen it yourself, if it isn't visible to ones eyes, if you can't touch it, can't taste it, can't smell it, if a few people claim to have knowledge and/or evidence on it while you don't, it is unexplainable, it doesn't exist. This is the approach of atheists to religion, why can't atheists apply it to everything else? A bit selective. You cannot rule out the supernatural. There are things you can see and things you can't. There is a conscious and subconscious. There are other universes. There are other beings that do not have to exist on our same plane of existence, they don't have to follow our rules. Why do you need to ask why you are here? What do you think the answer might be? Curious. |

Seun: There is gold at the bottom of Lake Chad. I've never seen it, but I just know that it's there. Are you willing to go on a quest for the gold? I thought people who place so much stock in science believe in investigation and evidence, proof, etc? If you want to know more about the supernatural, don't ask people. Put your two feet in the water. Unless your scared to. You've not seen the stuff science tells you exists. Why are you scared of taking the same approach with the supernatural? |

One would expect bird strikes, not cows.
Doesn't the airport have a fence? Don't the owners of the cows have any intelligence? The sound of planes arriving and departing should be enough deterrent to anybody wanting to cross the tarmac.
Lest we forget, they own everywhere. From Abuja, right past aso rock, down to some airport in IMO.
Funny cows. |
