1) Africa is not the only part of the world still trying to develop. Many parts of Asia are still backwards.

2) The things that develop countries are trade and nationalism. Let's compare China and Nigeria. China and Nigeria were both invaded by the british. China never accepted the british religion or their culture. Nigeria on the other hand, accepted the christianity and were enslaved. China was also a trade route for the mongols and some middle easterners. Today, China is more developed.

3) Religion does not develop a country. Just look at the most developed countries- they are either not religious or throwing their religion away.

4) No outsider develops your country for you. Take India for example, they always put their hinduism before the british christianity. And today they are better than Nigeria. The indians also rejected the British economic slavery put on them. You can read up on the salt revolt.



I hope you open your mind to learn and stop this slave mentality of yours

I have lived in St. Petersburg for 15 years and never experienced anything like this....there are few racists and incidents but nobody will stare at you in those countries since everywhere is filled with blacks and they even have more than 3 Nigerian restaurant and one of it is run by my wife. Is it by force to make it to the front page?
Even when I was living in Novosibirsk as the very few black person. I never experienced any form of racism and the occasional stares was out of curiosity not hate.
Unless maybe you are a remarkably ugly person or your attire was unbelievably ancient or weird which in that case you will get stares even in you hamlet

Every Sunday morning, we wake up, have our bath, dress very fine and head out to Church. Our pastors goes on with the normal Sunday routine, preaching from the word of God. Most recently, the service always make it look like we are constantly in a battle against adverse forces from another world. Instilling an iota of fear in us. majority of today's service don't depicts the reality on ground. So far in this recession, I've never heard any sermon which encourages us to go back to agriculture, or that which tells us to acquire a skill so as to support with the income we normally had. Rather they tell us to pray harder, sow financial seed, putting a good amount of money in offering, ensuring we pay our tithe so that God can open the windows of heaven to pour his blessings upon us and even after all these with continuous prayers things still remains almost the same with the country further going down.
Now clearly looking, one can see, if he/she removes bias, that the present day church aren't working with reality. Now my question is this, WHAT IS STILL THE ESSENCE OF GOING TO CHURCH ?

@Thesixthsense for the first time in a while I will disagree with you even though I agree with certain portions of your writeup but the whole message is wrongly packaged and would rather create chaos in the body and not light.

Peronally thr book " Goodmorning Holy Spirit" helped me in my early Christian days but I learnt early to balance everything using Scriptures from the Bible so I filtered every book using the Bible.

I had to understand the value of thr Holy spirit before I sought for Him and received the baptism of the Holy ghost and the gifts of word of knowledge, gift of faith and working of miracles.

What your message should have focused on is on motive! Why do we do what we do? Why do we seek what we seek? There are many true believers under the tutelage of Benny Hinn and many who have come from Oral Roberts...People like the Late Benson Idahosa who I came from are examples.

Benny Hinn seeking the anointing on Kathryn could have been based on desire and belief that if Same could happen between Elijah and Elisha then he could get same.

Some people are redical with desire but how you would know they are on track are by their fruits or via discernment. Your switching off moment has happened a lot to me as well but I do not let that give me an "I am better than you" attitude or an "I am holier than you" attitude. I rather channel my strenght towards praying for them even more and not bashing them.

Not everything about a mans walk with God is open for us to see but his manifestations are and yes sometimes God can demand a seed for a harvest and the Holy spirit can witness same to many others listening and they would jump on it but if you switched off at that point how are you sure u were not being either emotional or the seed time was not for you at that time?

Surely you have sown in other places...surely you have given to the needy....Sowing for a believer is not to be seen as sowing but as giving. ..God is not a gambler.

its not too late to take down the thread. The whole essence of our message is Love and not division and further divisions. All you have written here has been captured by Paul in much of his books in the bible so let those with the spirit of the berean Christians read it and allow the Holy Spirit to open their eyes to the truth.

This platform is a mixed multitude platform and the owner being an atheist has quickly pushed this to front page and I believe that it may be a ploy to further say .."I was right..the church is messed up" and you are encouraging it.

Nope. It is futile to argue with an apostate. Jehovah himself commanded that you dont give them audience. No matter how good you are on the scriptures and how little the apostate knows, obey Jehovah who state you ignore them.

Secondly, it could be spiritually dangerous arguing with an apostate who largely presents half-truths to deceive. They cut a sentence in our documents and give it there own interpretation. Making it seem as if it is a contradiction. The scriptures says:

We didnt evolve any sect. We came in fulfillment of the scripture at Matt 13:24-30. For centuries, it was prophesied that imitation Christians will dominate, but that later the true Christian wheat will appear. That was what happened.

let me use this opportunity to brief my nairalander family about the new tricks one chance operators are using on unsuspecting/innocent passengers on lagos roads.
i happen to travel back from akure into lagos,this morning (sat. 17th september 16)after my postgraduate project defence at FUTA,and i was dropped opposite alausa secretariat along lagos ibadan expressway.i tried looking for a commercial bus to take me to my destination(oshodi).
after some minutes of waiting for vehicle,two commercial vehicle came at the same time calling for persengers,i entered the first vehicle because although its empty,there was a persenger beside the driver unlike the second,i sat down beside him at the front and the vehicle left the bus-stop,suddenly the conductor opened the door beside me and started closing/jamming it Intermittently,i was distracted with his actions,it got to a time i had to take over the door from him so as to close it well myself. then driver packed,asked me to get down with the excuse that the conductor want to find solution to the door problem.i got down as Instructed,but lo and behold,the bus zommed off immediately i stepped down.
something in my mind tells me all is not well,because i dont see any reason why he should drop me at nowhere and speedoff,that was when i checked my pocket and discovered my phone(samsung s4) is missing..........probably the reason the driver speed off after dropping me where it would be hard for me to get another vehicle to pursue them.

lesson learnt

watch the kind of vehicle you enter in lagos,if too scantily filled avoid like plague,they may be 2 or 3 men gang operating one chance.

try at all time to board vehicle from the park(in case of eventuality,they can be easily tracked).

as a security measure try to memorise vehicle numberplate before you enter them.

if peradventure you find yourself inside one chance,please and please do not struggle with them,your life is more precious than anything they want to take from you,they can be deadly.

if you find out that the vehicle conductor/ is in hurry to pick just one or two persenger and leave, take caution in entering such vehicles,they may be one chance syndicate.

also as a security measure we should endeavour to password all applications(including mobile banking apps,messages,photo etc) on our phones and delete all messages relating to financial transactions on our phones as soon as possible...it can easily fall into wrong hands when stolen.

never get distracted when you are in a commercial bus,it might be intentional so as to catch you unaware

You know muslims and atheists may just persecute christians and are known for that, but JW people won't enter into life and are obstacles into others getting into heaven.They are the ones who enter into homes and make people captives and render them twice candidates of Hell.They are worse in the sense that muslims not all though(i mean religious extremists can be seen and avoided) but these people come in sheep's clothing but are like ravenous wolves disguised as true disciples and sweet tongues but full of poisonous snakes like adder and deceive people with their tongue cos you won't drag them away like extremists.
